Thunderbird cannot find my existing e-mailaccount

My old hard drive crashed. On the new (Windows 7) I downloaded and installed Thunderbird. When you try to use it, I get the screen with the question "do you want a new email address? I have one, so I click on the box "ignore this and use my existing account. Then, I get the screen "E-mailaccount-set-up. I fill out name, email address and password (I double checked with my webhost). So the problem is because I get the message:
Thunderbird was not able to find the settings for your e-mailaccount.

Can you please help me to get Thunderbird recognize my existing e-mailaccount?
Thank you
Bregje

You save the profile to Thunderbird? Without this, you cannot retrieve the recorded information and the messages in your account.

  • Thunderbird cannot find a Gmail account despite being able to do previously (replacing the account are an attempt to troubleshooting)

Hi, I have correctly set up two Gmail accounts in Thunderbird and send me and receive messages for a while. Suddenly, I was unable to send or receive. My account settings are correct (they are exactly as they were when I properly set up the accounts). I am able to access my incoming emails and send emails via the new webmail. I deliberately deleted one of the accounts and attempted to set up again but Thunderbird now can't find the details of the account, although it is able to find them before. I'm really confused now and many would appreciate help from someone that I have no idea what to do to solve this problem!
    Thank you.

Later: (1) I have now deleted my two accounts and tried their replacement. I have the correct Gmail details (password etc.). All I get is a message from Thunderbird by saying "sorry - we are unable to communicate with our server subscription. Please check your connection. "There is no problem with the connection.

    (2) I only changed from Freeserve (now EA) by email to Gmail because of the difficulties to send and receive messages from Freeserve with Thunderbird; like Gmail accounts worked I had assumed Freeserve was the problem but not sure now that the lightning seems to have hit twice now Gmail does not work.

Matt thanks for the very quick response. I worked on this problem in the early hours of this morning. It turned out to be a problem with my firewall. I solved it by turning off the firewall temporarily while I got the email client to communicate with its server that got the email client correctly configured. It sends and receives messages as it should despite the firewall having been turned back on (as soon as I could). Apparently, it is possible to have an 'exception' to a firewall. I am told that the e-mail software must contact the server every two weeks (I thought he was doing this all the time its use in!) and I should throw an exception.

Anyway, thanks again for taking the time and trouble to answer.

  • Cannot find the overall messages file - db.sqlite

Hi, volunteers! Thank you for being here.

The search function of Thunderbird has stopped working. He cannot find all - regardless of the query returned no results.

I understand that I need to rebuild the global database to correct this and have read the instructions here:

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/rebuilding-global-database

He tells me to delete my profile from TB global-messages - db.sqlite. Connects me to another page on how to find this profile. I followed these instructions:

    "How to find your profile.

Click on the menu button or menu bar.
From the Help menu, click Troubleshooting Information.
In the Application Basics section, Profile Folder, click on Show in Finder.
The Mac Finder window will show the name of the profile as well as the path to it."

The finder window shows me this file: zfrnv9to.default - 1445806062498. Nothing inside it looks like the file I'm supposed to delete, which is global-messages - db.sqlite.

I also used the Mac projector for a search on "global-messages - db.sqlite. He cannot find anything like this on my Mac Air (which is running El Capitan). It is usually pretty reliable to dig up files, but - no luck.

    What should I do now?

Zenos, thank you! I solved this on my own last night.

In case it helps the next person: I re-read the page of Mozilla to find the file.

So, rather than looking in the Application databases, I dug through my files user myself, using the information that it would be under User/Library etc.

It took a few minutes of poking around to find it. I deleted it, restarted TB, and the search function is back.

The mystery that I can't solve it is why the recommended method or research Spotlight of the CMA does not find it in the first place. But with time and patience, the manual search does the job.

Thanks for the tips, the time and help!

  • Have only json bkmks prev FF 29 install, but now, how can I restore it as html? (Cannot find it in any menu FF.)

I had to reinstall win 7 a few days ago. The old installation is Win.OLD. After installation in the new configuration for FF29, I tried to simply move the file bkmks of html into the Win.OLD file on the new system, but somehow, it was just another copy of what was on the brand new facility of and seq. Looking deeper, I was able to find old favorites in a json file in a folder bookmarksbackup buried in AppData and could tell from the date and the size it was in fact the old bkmks, saved from the eve of the new facility.

I tried to find something here telling me how to 'restore' the json to html file, but everything that I could find that was bound, said only to "restore" the json file, but without any detail... so how do I do this? One answer given directions by using the menu of Firefox and using a restore feature, but what I have is the file/Edit/View/history/bookmarks/tools/help menu and the 'customize' page and it of functions, but cannot find anything on the restore/export/backup bookmarks. Am I missing a menu? Thank you!!

  • Access cannot find the macro

    Hello everyone!

I have a damaged database. I decided to try to restore. VD, I created a new database and imported all the tables, queries, forms, reports, macros of corrupted to the new database.

However, when I try to open most of the forms, I get the error message:

"Microsoft Office Access cannot find the macro 'TrackDBaseForms '.

The macro (or its macro group) does not exist, or the macro is new, but has not been saved... »

This basis has worked for a year, and I never had this problem. A Google search returns no results. However, it is obviously not in the macros page, or in any code I can find.

I have supports this database for a year and have never encountered this missing macro. A Google search returns no results, so I guess it's something that the developers at the beginning. However, it is obviously not in the macros page, or in any code I can find.

The corrupted database is such a State that it will not be open to all: the main form that is set to open at startup corrupts. MS Access 2007, size 500mg.

    Thank you!

Have u tried looking for hidden objects?
Go to Tools/Options and view the hidden objects to open the database without starting.  You can press the SHIFT key , and then open the DB. Note You may need to do this a few times.

I hope that this recommendation will help you. In extreme cases, you can restore the data file via the repair tool of ms access as the Access Recovery Toolbox . http://www.oemailrecovery.com/access_repair.html

  • Photosmart C4780 installation fails at the "system cannot find the file specified."

My problem began simply with your printer, a HP Photosmart C4780, who has always had a wireless connection and would not print.  Initially, the checked network connection fine control panel of the printer.  I ran a Microsoft printer troubleshooting, which found a block in line print and authorized.  The first test page print, but did print the "internal test page.  I did not understand what it meant, so I looked for help on the HP site.

I ran the HP print and Scan Doctorand he suggested I have reinstall the driver.  I have downloaded and saved the current HP (PS_AIO_06_C4700_USW_Full_Win_enu_140_175.exe) and then uninstalled the existing driver.  When I tried to install a new, a window pops up saying "the system cannot find the file specified," with only a single box for click that simply says "OK".  The installation went through 'examining installation options', after entering "check updates, download updates, install updates" and then it was all in "audit system", who jumped out of the window "file not found" upwards, and when I clicked 'OK', the installation window as well as the error message box simply disappeared.  Which I suppose is the path to the file is under the window, but it didn't fit so he showed not the end.  What I read was "C:\Users\... \Local\Temp\7zS588E\Setup\.\Setup\hpzpnp40...»

I found a topic on the same printer model for the same problem in the forum, which offered this hotfix:

You must first complete a level 3 of the software uninstallation. I've included the steps below to do this.

    1. press the Windows key and the letter R
    2. type %temp%, and then click OK
    3. open the 7z folder (a more recent if there are multiples)
    4 open the util folder
5 open the folder of the ccc
    6. double-click on the Uninstall_L3

Once you have completed the Uninstall_L3, delete all of the items listed in the temp folder. Note, you will not be able to remove all the elements, please ignore those that do not. Then please empty the trash and perform a clean boot. I've included the document «How to perform a boot in Windows» If your computer does not request it, restart your computer.

Once your computer is back, you must reinstall the printer software. You can do this either by using the Setup CD, or by downloading the software.

I did what was suggested, until he got to the point where it says it was the case recommend not removing any more items if I had intended on using the HP Officejet printer (Yes, I have a second HP printer connected to the network) anytime in the future.  Not really understand how it all works, I decided to stop what I was doing, so unfortunately it has not solved my problem.

Do I need to uninstall both printers HP before I can reinstall a?  And if I do that, is there a reason that I wouldn't be able to reinstall the two printers?  Looks like I'm asking trouble.  Bottom line... I can not install the driver.

I tried to install the full versions and the driver base and still get the same result.

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 - 3100t for computer laptop, running Windows 7 Edition Premium, version 6.1.7601 family service pack 1 64-bit.  I have not installed new hardware or software.  This printer has always had a wireless connection.  The router I'm using is a Netgear 54Mbps WGR614 v6 (provided by my cable company) and the network includes not only my laptop and the Photosmart printer, but also desktop ASUS, HP printer, an Officejet 6300 series (used only for printing graphics and photos via a wired to the router) and a chip on Vizio TV.  I use Norton 360 first Edition and disabled the antivirus auto-protect when I downloaded and tried to install the driver.

Help, please!  And thanks in advance for your time and your attention.

Oh, Jamieson, it worked!  I can print again!  A massive amount of thanks and congratulations to you.

I couldn't believe it when he actually passed the point where it normally would stop the installation, but then almost at the end, upward jumped «Fatal error during installation»  My excitement sank into a depression.  He said while the installation was not successful and he needed to collect information in order to diagnose the fault.  I looked at what has been collected, and it was more or less gobblety-* beep * for me.  There was a code of 19714722 error condition, if that means anything.

Then he placed on my desk, the "Error of Installation HP - Windows 7.hta" file and instructed me to do away with the current window, restart, and then open the file and move forward with these guidelines.  I did and he basically had me to restart the computer once again, and then turn the printer off, unplug the printer, then unplug the router, wait 30 seconds and then plug the TAA - DAA and back in, I'm back in the business of printing.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

All the best to you and yours!

  • XP - error: the system cannot find the specified file.

I was installing Windows XP Service Pack 3 today and it worked very well until he came to update registry after the installation process, after what is happening the installation closes and then displays an error "the system cannot find the file specified." I tried to close all programs, and then restart and shut down everything that runs when the computer starts and which also failed.

    Hello

    1. have you downloaded the stand-alone package for the service Pack 3 or are you using Windows update?
    2. are you able to boot to the desktop now?

    Method 1.
Run Disk Cleanup and disable the security software and t hen try the same installation and check.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2.
If the problem still exists together own starting the computer and attempt to install the service pack.

I read how to solve the error message, but I can't get on the internet to access programs. Suggestions? I'm so frustrated!

    Thanks in advance!  :)

Steve Winograd's right - no executables are normally launched from the Temp folder where you specify unless the malware put them there.

Your system is currently or has been infected and perhaps your detection/removal software clean the folder Temp of the suspicious content but this process does not always boot entry that points to the location/suspicious file, so that each reboot (or login), he wants to run it.

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

It is easy to get rid of the error message by doing something like disable the startup item in msconfig (if you can still find), but I suggest you fix the problem and difficulty not only the symptom of the problem simply remove the startup message.

I would recommend also you start to search in the register, unless you have a backup because there is no 'Cancel' or 'quit without saving changes' option in regedit.  If you make a mistake, that's all.
These ideas relieve 'rapid' and sometimes risky of the symptom, but may not actually solve the problem.  Also, I'd be suspicious of ideas that begin with the words "try."  You don't need to try things, you need to fix things.
Here are the detailed instructions that protect you and solve your problem in the 'right' way.
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira
!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..
A "Cannot find...". ', ' Failed to start..., "Could not load..." ». "Might not work... "" Cannot run ""error loading... ". "or"specific module could not be found"message at startup is usually related to the malware that has been configured to run at startup, but the referenced file has been removed after a malware scan, leaving behind him a startup item or the registry entry pointing to a file that does not exist.
It might be a removal of malicious software or an application not installed.  The entry may have a curious looking name since it was probably generated at random when the malware was installed. If you search your system for the referenced file, you may not find.
Windows attempts to load this file but cannot locate because the file has been deleted for most probably during an analysis of the malware. However, an orphaned associate of remainders of startup parameter or registry entry and tells Windows to load the file when you start or connection.
So you should delete the referenced entry Windows stop trying to load or run the file. It may or may not be included in the registry, but you can find it.  Autoruns (see below) you get the elements no matter where it is.
If you just locate and uncheck the item in msconfig, which disables the element but does not remove the reference to the element of false starting your computer.   The msconfig program is not a Startup Manager, that's a troubleshooting tool.  Disabling things in msconfig to put an end to the messages and think that your problem is solved is short-sighted and leave behind him a sloppy XP configuration.  Just disable the display of a start-up error message should not count as a 'solution' to the problem.
If you are comfortable editing the registry, you can find and remove the reference directly from there or remove it using a popular third-party tool called Autoruns.  The problem can always be found in the registry well.
Before making any changes to your registry by hand or with third-party tools, don't forget to first make a backup of the registry. There is no cancellation or exit without saving the option in regedit.
Here is a link to a popular registry backup tool:
You can use Autoruns to find the element of start remains little matter where he's hiding.  Autoruns does not install anything on your computer.  It will display all startup locations where the reference may be then you can turn it off or remove it completely.  Here is the download link for Autoruns:
Run Autoruns.exe and wait that he at the end of the filling of the list of entries.
When the Autoruns is finished scanning your system, it will say "Ready" in the lower left corner.  Autoruns can be a little intimidating to first if you have never seen it before because it displays a lot of information.  You are really interested only a few sections.
The problem is usually to start the system or the user startup entries, then click the connection tab and see if the startup item is there.
Scroll through the list and look for a boot entry associated files in the error message.
If you can't find on the connection tab, look in any tab.
You can also click file, search to search for logon, or any tab for all or part of the name of the element.
Right-click on the offending entry and choose Remove
.  If you are not sure what it is, you can simply disable, restart and if the problem is resolved and then remove the offending entry.  If you don't see it in Autoruns, you may edit the registry and remove the item from your startup folder it.  Autoruns shall display the same information however.

  • Windows cannot find the pictur error ~ 1.exe

Windows cannot find pictur ~ 1.exe error, when you click ok then pictur ~ 2.exe cannot be found, and then click ok and imagev ~ 1.exe is not found. Happen sporatically throughout the day and the error messages inspire each other to end up with dozens of the same error message in the task bar. There is no pictur ~ 1.exe in msconfig. You need to determine how to make this error go away, or which is looking for this program, or to all the less determine where it is sought.

Although I always think you should ask the help of expert antimalware, if you want to dig a little deeper on your own, here are 3 ideas, neither has no guarantee of success:

    1. take a look in the event viewer (start > run > eventvwr > OK) and see if error messages are displayed that give the name of the routine which tries to launch these exe files.

    2. learn to use the process monitor (and, perhaps, Process Explorer).  These are powerful tools, and the learning curve is a bit steep.  I can't help you here.  See the links in the sidebar or the other of the two pages linked above.  You can start by watching the video here.

    3. in association with the use of Process Monitor, create an exe file with the name that appears in your error message and save it in a folder that is in your path (for example, C:\Windows).  You can make a copy of an existing such as Notepad.exe exe file and rename it to picture ~ 1.exe or create an exe of your own by using a tool like ExeScript.  If you get real ambitious, you might learn a little windows script (for example, this tutorial) and have your exe file displays the name of the process that called it (again, to help you with this is beyond my skills).

If you try one of these ideas and are able to go to the bottom of your problem, please post back with the details so that others (especially me) can learn.

  • Cannot copy #BSSC: cannot find specified / file path.

Recently, I got my data from formatted hard drive and it to stored in my partition active, but I'm unable to copy data from one place to another place, and it shows the same error message I wrote on the start menu. Can someone tell me how to fix it!

Cannot copy #BSSC: cannot find specified / file path.

    Hello Leal,

This problem can occur because the file path / you are specifying no longer exists. This means that the destination on your computer folder no longer exists even if it is displayed in Solution Explorer.

To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods:

    • Recreate the folder on your computer and then copy or move the file to the folder.
    • Copy or move the file to another folder on your computer...

Let us know if that helps.

  • Cannot find reg.exe on my computer

    Hello

I have windows XP. A new program wants as reg.exe. But cannot find this file. Can I download from microsoft and install it on the computer. The new software willnot load without it.

    Thank you

Reg.exe must exist in the c:\windows\system32 directory.  If she's not here, I see no reason why you couldn't copy it from another computer in Windows XP and put right there.  The fact he hasn't led to suspicions of malicious software on your computer, so it wouldn't hurt to do a scan for Malware with a tool like the freeware Malwarebytes.
