Time remapping a PreComp

I was outrageously surprised today by works of AE. I use AE for more than 7 years and think having a good understanding of the application works. My previous understanding about the time remapping pre comps is that if you were to stretch the time remap keyframes to lengthen executives duplicate to duplicate images. It's the same thing that happens to the video without movement of mix or pixel image blurs lit. I had the concept in my mind that when precomposition a bunch of layers, they would be pixelated at least collapse processing has been enabled.

Even today, I needed to lay down a model of meadow with hundreds of keyframes and other compositions of pre inside by about 2 x to get a feel to make it much slower. After seeing RAM I expected a very choppy make more slowly with many executives in doubles but in fact seen a completely smooth rendering without and duplicate frames. Why I didn't not know this before? Googling how time remapping affects a precomposition does not turn to the top of a lot of useful information.

Maybe a few default settings there since CS6 in CC? I can swear I saw images duplicate of a meadow with no video model before animation, thus leading to my understanding of the works of AE.

Chris

Nope, nothing new. AE work on the exact time of 'fluid', so any time a native function-based operation will result in sampling values with a precision of fake-chassis with regard to everything that happens between the two. Has been the case forever. If you need quantify the query, you can of course still use the posterize time effect or function of the corresponding expression.

  • Time remapping option grayed out on precomp

    Hello

I have an effects shot that I need to slow down a bit, but time-remapping becomes unavailable after I precompose the things I stretched. The precomp includes only two layers - images raw m2t and a solid layer with fractal noise animated and masks. Time-remapping is available on the layer of the raw images, but not on the precomp, so the problem seems to be with the solid layer, even if she has pictures and animations. Is there a solution to this?

    See you soon.

The only reason why you wouldn't be able to remap time a demo is that you move all the attributes or if there are keyframes in the precomp.

Select your demo in the timeline panel and press the U key. If you then see keyframes before dialing again.

  • Time-remapping creates white dots a frame before a transition.

    Hello.
I made an animation with 2 scenes. I created a new composition with my finished animation where I activated the time remapping. In the last frame before the passage of the scene a scene two a lot of white dots appear on the screen. These points do not appear in the publication without the time remapping effect. I'll upload my AE file, so you can have a look.

  • Time remap value is grayed out.

    First CC

When I try to time remapp a clip I can add keyframes and can change them on the timeline.

But why can't use them like other keyframes for the Position and Zoom?

I can't change the scale, I can't catch them and move them to the video effects tab.

I can only edit and move them in the Timeline... But I want to just total control... I want to give an exact value... I want to make faster the 838%...i want to make correspond them with the other keyframes...

    Please halp...

Time-remapping is performed on the timeline.

Time-remapping doesn't have the same kind of key frames, like the other properties.

If you want more control using AE for this.

You can post a screenshot of what is exactly gray?

  • Can one after effects related Composition keep time remapping?

I use CS6. I have a clip of 1 second test in the first I want to slow down to half speed. That's what I did:

    1. I chose the clip and replaced with After Effects Composition.
    2. In AE I used time-remapping to slow down the clip. Nothing I have AE can show the real slows the effect - unless I export and made into a new file.
    3. I can import which made recently slowed down file in first to replace the original item, and everything is OK.

However, I prefer not to have to make and the extra file.

    QUESTION

Can you my version of first link to AE (where I change the speed of the element), and when I finally exporting first, at this stage, it is rendered?

If not, the latest version of first with its flow optical (or whatever it's called) has the same functionality and quality and AE time remapping?

Absolutely, I can confirm that exporting AE bound dynamically Pr CC2015 comp that has Timewarp applied the results in an exported clip that interpolated frames and not simply double frames.

  • Reverse the time remapping effect?

Hi, I have a membership with the time-remapping applied via an expression and a skeleton key slider controlling the speed of reading of percentage.

Inside of the time remapped composition there is an effect property I want to be done by the time remapping. Is it possible to somehow invert the time remapping effect so that it appears unchanged in the composition of parent?

    I think I'm close, but I still can't understand:

    -Hand Comp, example time: 0:00:14:18

-Comp time to parents: 0:00:14:20, remapped to time right now (maybe before and after by a few images)

-Nested Comp expression of effect property:

    var time = counteractTimeDisplacement - (((comp("__Main_Comp__").layer ("FrameDifference") .timeRemap - 1)));

    etcEtcEffectPropertyValue = somethingReferenced.valueAtTime (counteractTimeDisplacement);

-FrameDifference Composition (simply shows the weft of the difference in time)

Remapped time: 0:00:01:02 / / added 1 second to allow negative values, when the time remapping effect is less, perhaps that should not be a timeRemap property, but I don't know how to use time on an object. null values

    -Expression of remapping the colors:

    ()comp("Main_Comp").layer ("Parent comp') .timeRemap - time) + 1

Above doesn't work and seems out of step. I realized the FrameDifference composition is also indirectly done by the time remapping effect because the nested composition can access it and its remapped, so I tried for the composition of FrameDifference :

    -Composition FrameDifference

    -Expression of remapping the colors:

(comp("Main").layer ("Parent model") .timeRemap .valueAtTime (comp("Main_Comp").layer ("Parent comp') .timeRemap) - .timeRemap comp("Main_Comp").layer ("Parent model")) + 1

Its still not sync, can someone who understands the remapping / time better than me please help I can't see where im going wrong. Yet once I can't get out of the effect inside the remapped comp and use separately as this will cause other problems.

    Thanks for reading

You make it too difficult. If you have a layer or element that you do not want be affixed by the time remapping effect then put this element in comp. Another thing is just a waste of time.

Change the speed of reading over time can be very complicated. The best way to understand what you do is look to the graphics editor. You need a much more complex expression in order to speed up and slow down playback without taking the time reverse. Please see motionipt.com where Dan Ebberts can show you how to make the ramp upward and boat speed reading thing.

  • Visualization of music. Time remapping problem!

Hey everybody. I played with visualization of music after effects a little and now I'm in a bit of a pickle. Many channels of music publishing have visualizations with particles and or animations that change speed based on the music. I have a copy of Trapcode soundkeys so I can turn the music in keyframes and achieve such animations, but here's my problem.

If I time remap a composition playing time * 1 + Enter keys sound after the typing animation kick goes to the rear where it would have been without the kick. Is there a way to make a demo you time remapping only go forward? Y at - it a way of expression that checks the value of the last image and I'm way off?

For example Monstercat make their background of particles. Is the speed of the particle generator ramp or there at - it a way to get similar effects of time remapping, so it could be used on more varied and interesting effects. Any help and responses are greatly appreciated!

Managed to get what I wanted with this practical guide to Dan Ebberts: Expression of speed and frequency

I don't even think of using the integrals and others. Now, I can input to output of soundkeys in a sheath of control that integrates it and cumulatively becomes bigger and bigger that the sound happens so. Then I can make the time remapping effect following.

I'll have to play with all these new possibilities!

  • strangeness rounded when time-remapping is 512 seconds?

OK, this one is total of disconcerting.

I have a script to configure comps with a stack of layers where each layer is actually a stop on images from the video, each layer has activated the time remapping and then I put the value at time 0 for each layer (and then delete the key of the second). I have been using this technique one way or another for years without any problem. Then today, I noticed some glitchy from a certain point results. I assumed it was a matter of 24 / 25 fps but not, it seems to be a rounding problem when the defined time-remapping is greater than 512 dry.

so my troubleshooting code looks like this (the timeOffset value is 0.04 or 1 frame at 25 fps)

    alert("tmap about to set as " +  (i*timeOffset))
    tMap.setValueAtTime(0,(i*timeOffset);
alert("tmap value that was actually set" + tMap.valueAtTime(0,true))

then, when trying to put the first alert returns with 512.04 as expected but the second alert is back with 512.039978027344 always 512.04 time.

obviously done Ae internal to come round returns with an entire image number (as shown in the user interface), but here's the weird part, this internal rounding seems to work very well all the way to the point of 512 dry but starts then will knock out, almost as if he went from round() to floor()

    i.e.

If I put the 484.04 I actually get get 484.039978027344 that I rang the Bell to show the 00:08:04:01 structure, which is what I want

But if I put 512.04 I get 512.039978027344 Ae rounds down to show the frame 00:08:32:00 instead of 00:08:32:01, not what I want.

    very frustrating.

It is certainly a bug right?

  • time remapping only keyframes.

I know it's possible to control selection of kinship between the comp. so that the blades in a model cursors or wha Ewer in one other comp. but is it possible to time remapping those keyframes.

lets say I have a lets comp. call comp (1) it has a solid blue, a solid red and a comp (2) containing a layer of setting with 2 sliders.

in comp (2) I animate the slider that the slider, it starts at 0 we a second goes up to 100 more. slider 2 starts at 0, then up to a 100 while cursor one falls down... or something like that...

I am now able to choose the cursor to whip one and two for the opacity of the red and solid blue in comp (1).

Now when I play comp (1) solid red goes from 0 to 100 and then the blue charge to do the same thing.

    Here's the question:

I hope that when I have the time remapped Comp (2) comp (1) solids would fade and go down faster or slower depending on how I have time remapped comp (2) I comp (1).

but it backs do not work as I expected. keyframes don't move at all, but are kept synchronized whit timecode regardless of my time-remapping.

is there a way that I can time remap keyframes...

    hope that makes sense.

If you change a cam multi session in AE you do not use the software as it was designed. Your model will be a mess, check timing on cuts is extremely painful and difficult, changes will be almost impossible and it will take ten times longer than the cutting project in Premiere Pro. AE is not a Publisher. AE was specifically designed to create Visual effects or motion graphics shots or in some cases, a few sequences that you change in a move in a NLE such as Premiere Pro. 90% of my comps AE are less than 7 seconds, because 90% of my cuts in all the movies I make are less than 7 seconds. If you set up your multi cam project in Premiere Pro Cup Multi Cam can be almost as fast as direct switching. You just need to learn how do.

If you need to perform processing of your shots in AE and then cut it into Premiere Pro, choose the photos you want to fix first. If they are short, and then use dynamic link to process the shots in AE. If every time a need for treatment or plans are long, depending on the settings that you want to do, a better option is to make a digital intermediate (DI) by using a lossless format (or better yet a 10bits or better DI) and do your treatment in AE, and then change the final output in Premiere Pro. Since it is a music production, you'll also want to do your final mix in Audition to take full advantage of the tools available to improve playback of your music.

If you really want to use a cursor to cut between the two cameras, then that is easily done by linking the opacity for the two layers for a cursor that you animate from 0 to 100. You simply place 100 - in front of the expression of the second camera. If you have two cameras, you could add a checkbox and an if statement then you should change the box to change between 1 and 3 or camera camera 2 and 3. It would quickly become a complex montage and time consuming, and it's never going to be as fast or as efficient as the editing in Premiere Pro using the multi camera configuration.

If you really want to try it should look like this for 2 cameras:

Place your cursor on the opacity layer and name it the cursor something meaningful like 'change Camera.

    Camera layer opacity 1.

    thisComp.layer("Controller").effect ("change Camera")("Slider")

The opacity of the layer camera 2.

    100 - thisComp.layer("Controller").effect ("change Camera")("Slider")
    It will look like this:
Who's going to do in AE and give you an overlap perfect between the cameras, but I wouldn't try to make that kind of a tool for editing in AE in the first place.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that if you do not want a dip in brightness when melted between the cameras, you must set the blending mode to add Alpha. You do not have the problem in Premiere Pro.
  • Audio time remapping?

    Hello

Is there a way of time-remmap the audio with Adobe CC? I need to gradually slow down a clip of music and then accelerate this return.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Also, I noticed that decreases the speed of a video clip is not the same as the use of the effect of the time-remmap. Is there a formula to find out how to synchronize clips with two effects? Mainly to synchronize audio and video clips.

Keyframes for the timeremapping or fair outcomes?

  • Correspondence of time remapping with ramps for video editing of first CC 2015/output

I would like to ask experts, which will be the best workflow...

    Location:

I have the project with 50 + video segments where I have to slow down part of the clip to highlight some details (in my case - CIRC. enduro motorcycle - need to slow down the part where is visible some technical riding etc.).

I use bulit Premiere Pro CC 2015 in the tools of the keyframe to select two points between where I change the speed for example at 50%. First has nice handles around the keyframes where I can create smooth ramp, so the change in speed is graduated.

    Insofar as simple here s

But the first will not do the same with audio track associated with each clip. In the audio is for his example of the motorcycle.

I need to have his original when the video is playing at 100% speed and its different from "lower pitch" when is slowed down and once again normal sound when is 100% video speed on the end.

So I edited each audio segment to the points of the time remap keyframes, manually set the speed of the middle section and - it s horrible. Video slows gently while it is quite annoying audio changes.

I need to make the same effect as what we were doing with Ribbon old VCRs in television production - smooth audio ramp corresponding to the video and return to full speed.

As my knowledge about hearing is close to zero - I would like to ask at the front to start learning - I can do up in the hearing? What I have to do it every time from scratch or can I use existing keys from first images? Anyway how above 'automatic '? What workflow you have advice when I need to do it quite often many of these clips?

Thank you much for the help.

    P. S. tried to find out, after a while with the help chat online too...

Most of the discussions and tutorials is very old - there may be some new features in CC 2015 in order to do compare with 2011 toolset or almost. And in many video tutorials only covered - they talk about audio at all. But for audio track that I use, is the audio very good.

Here is an example of a part of the timeline. I needed this project to do quickly, I decided to stretch the entire audio segments to match the new length of the video. It s not correct but it sounds better then it divides in three parts with a slow speed in the middle. Just to match audio speed changes in the Panel of video editing

    time.JPG

Not sure about the exchange of workflow with first for this type of effect.

However the hearing can make the effect of change of speed/not very well using effects/time and Pitch/Pitch Bender. This uses a waveform envelope on with keyframes to vary the height must therefore ideal for your needs. In order to see where on the waveform, you need to place keyframes without doubt the best way is to place markers on audio in first at beginning and end of each ramp. These should be done through when you export audio in Audition where you should be able to match Pitch Bend keyframes to markers.
