Toshiba BDX5400KR (Blu - Ray) as a digital media renderer (DMR)

Before I get entangled in technical jargon, let me explain what I want to do. I want my PC (Vista at the moment)
* Explore different media (image, music, video)
* Growing (Wi - Fi) to a Blu - Ray player which will in turn
* Listen to the titles to an amplifier and image/video to a projector
(I have no TV so I have virtually no MENU to navigate with, unless I turned on the projector. Not good for streaming music)

My questions are so
# How do I act as a DMR BDX5400KR? (according to [http://www.dlna.org/consumer-home/look-for-dlna/product-search] it can)
# Suggestions on PC software to use? (free / sharing is good.) Rembemer I am running Vista and is not something that I can use WMP)

I checked the manual ([http://www.toshiba-om.net/DVD/PDF/English/BDX5400-English.pdf]), but I couldn't find anything that seemed to describe the features of the rendering engine.

I have not yet bought the Blu - Ray player, and if anyone know an alternative decently price I'm interested as well! Specifications for Toshiba has been good for me, it was what I need. But will it work? No vendor could tell me.

So, basically, I have been downgraded to Muggles and seeks one Assistant there. Please?

Thanks for reading, I hope that many will benefit from the solution to this!

(Sorry, there seems to be no jury of blu ray player)

I bought this drive blu - ray 3 months ago and a week ago I had a 'No Disc' error when I tried to play a DVD. The machine plays all my DVDs without problems before if is not a concern for the region. Now, he will not play one of my DVDs and they are all clean and intact. However, she still plays my blu ray discs without any problem. I bought a blu ray disc lenses cleaning hoping that would solve the problem, but it didn't. So, I bought a DVD lens cleaning disc but being a DVD itself, she also returned an error of 'no disc '.

The problem is that this is my second machine in about 6 months. Exactly the same thing happened with my previous Toshiba BDX1200KY and the electronic shop guys couldn't get out and gave me a replacement so it is very likely that the fault is mine.

These machines have distinct popsicles for Blu Ray and DVD? Can someone suggest a solution. I smoke and I often stop the machine. It is pointles continuing until I have it worked.

Unfortunately, it's a computer / laptop Forum options so I m afraid there is not a lot of people who can provide you with solutions

However, I put t think that this player is equipped with different laser lens it s a goal that must manage all disks

My player couldn't handle all the disks because the goal was dirty. I unmount the drive to access the lens and managed to clean it with a cotton tip and a little alcohol.

  • When I try to read Blu - Ray, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD. The disk has been created in a way that does not support the player. »

    Original title: Blu - Ray

My computer can read blu - ray, but when I try to play one, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD. The disk has been created in a way that does not support the player. "How should I do?

    Hello

The Blu - ray disc format is not supported in Windows Media Player. To play a Blu - ray Disc, you must use a non-Microsoft program that supports playback of Blu ray and a device that can play Blu ray discs.

  • Reinstall the Toshiba Qosmio F750 for 3D Blu - ray player

Dear team of Support from Toshiba,

I have installed the Toshiba Video Player 'new' v4.00.6.09 in the download section for F750. After that, the 'old' Toshiba 3D Blu - ray player crashes as soon as I started it. As the new installed 'Toshiba Video Player v4.00.6.09 f' does not support Bluray 3D disks and has been dated to 2010, I uninstalled it. But the Toshiba 3D Blu - ray player broke again. So I decided to uninstall and reinstall the 'old' "Toshiba 3D Bluray player. Uninstallation of was no problem, but is not possible to reinstall, because the download for Toshiba player Blu - ray 3D download section official Toshiba 'Toshiba Bluray 3d Player V.1.0.1.299' is only one file to update that needs an older version installed of the Toshiba Bluray 3d player.

Dear Supprot team, where / how, please, can I get the Installer * 'full installation' files for the Toshiba the F750 3d Bluray player? (A complete DVD system recovery and reinstallment of just for this player would not be a good option, especially my family and I would like).
Thank you very much for your help,

  • Media Center - support Blu - ray?

After getting a new media center PC with a disc blu - ray nice integrated, I am appalled by the lack of support media center or other software third party has to blu - ray on a PC.

Power DVD supplied with the blu - ray player is shockingly bad and unfit for use. Place a disc in the player leaves the center of media and load Power DVD. And from there I can't do anything, the MCE Remote control cannot control Power DVD. After fiddling around with the keyboard and mouse, sometimes I can get a movie to play, and sometimes I can't.

I downloaded demo of the Arcsoft TMT, and on the surface, the integration of MCE seemed promising. However, the first use that you realize that does almost the same thing as Power DVD, only he launches an application that "looks like" MCE. At least he recognizes the MCE Remote control.

There are still problems with Arcsoft TMT. I can watch half a movie, go to bed without even removing the disc from the drive, try to resume the movie in the morning and be informed that it is impossible to read the disc (or any other blu - ray disc). Not until I reboot the PC I can play another blu - ray.

With the bugs described above, I am not willing to pay $ 100 for a software that does not work and costs more than the drive itself. Power DVD is not much better either, you can buy the premium edition, but still no media center support.

When Microsoft will support blu - ray in media center? I realize they have supported HD DVD, but this format is dead now (you can't buy movies on this format) they should think of this support. So much for the "ultimate" editions, it seems that their biggest problem is that they do not want to give Sony royalties. So why not release a plugin $15 which provides this support?

Looks like it will be cheaper and more reliable to buy a separate blu - ray player, so for media center.

Does anyone know of a properly integrated MCE plugin that doesn't cost the Earth?

    Hello

    Same problem here.

The cheapest solution (= zero $) is this freeware standalone player:

  • Aspire TV blu ray problem

I have an Acer Aspire laptop V3 771G and a Panasonic TX-L32E6 TV. When I connect my Acer to my TV via HDMI, everything works fine, I am able to see that everything on the TV and the sound works fine too.

But when I want to watch a blu ray using clear Fi media, I can hear the sound of my TV but not shown in the picture, there is white (sometimes green, sometimes purple and sometimes black) with the rest of my desktop computer runs well in the background.

How can I do my cell send the image and sound to my tv so I can watch my Blu ray on my TV?

I must also stress that the blu ray plays yet perfectly fine on my laptop while it is connected via HDMI.

    Thank you.

It seems to me that if you put mirror to the TV screen.

You tried to switch the display to the TV only using Fn + F5?

  • Digital Media Converter

I am trying to connect and stream videos and pictures from my Windows 7 Pc to my Xbox One. I finally got my Pc to add the Xbox one of my wireless devices, but now it asks me to update my Digital Media Renderer Driver. When I click on apply difficulty he's going through the motions, then an error message appears. It is said that their isn't a driver for digital media converter and there are problems with PnP devices? The Xbox 360 has been easy to connect, but for some reason the Xbox One has problems. Help, please. Thank you

I bet that you just have to open the Windows Media Player on the PC and check two things under flow. Allow control at distance of my player and the most important; Automatically allow devices to play my media. Then if you click more streaming options, you should see that your Xbox has full access now! Ignore the error of the pilot Digital Media Renderer, this isn't a problem here...

  • Advice of HD format for Blu - Ray projects

I'm editing about 30 minutes of images of wildlife for a documentary that I want to back up the Blu - Ray format. The film was shot on a Canon XL - H1A camera and the video comes off the camera as an .mpeg file. My PC is slow and has 2 GB of memory and can not handle the entire project from 30 minutes. The PC grinds stop if I have a project too big. My project is made from many 5-20 second clips with lots of transitions, so I'm changing the project into six sections of 5 minutes, made and saved, and then create a new project and stitch the sections together to burn to Blu - Ray. I did before for SD projects where I saved as DV - AVI files sections, them sewn together, then burned on a DVD project.

My problem is to replicate this process in HD, without loss of quality. If I save the sections such as DV - AVI, they will be converted to SD. I tried to save each section in MPEG HD 1080i format before making the final movie as a new project, but then for the record to Blu - Ray the final movie format there is a net loss of quality compared to the original film. I guess it must be because the movie is recoded to each of the two stages of the rendering. I have re-recorded each section to the 1080i MPEG H.264, created a new project and are sewn together to save on Blu - Ray. The project is rendered but will be night work. I don't know if it will be better.

How can I complete this process in two steps without quality loss?

    Thank you

    Neil

Select the option to share your computer, and then select MPEG2 as your file format, using the output of 30 fps 1440x1080i preset. This should be virtually identical to the video you put in. (you can increase your quality of output a bit by clicking on the advanced to this preset button and raise the level of video quality 4 to 5 You can even do it yourself custom preset for future use.)

And, of course, all this is assuming that you are using the correct HDV project preset. And, if you use the PAL TV standard, use the option of 25 frames per second.

If you are using the appropriate project preset, there will be a line above your clips on the timeline neither red nor green until you add an effect to them.

Although I'm a little concerned that your computer is not powerful enough to work with half-hour or HDV footage. You have a great camcorder from $6,000. Are you sure you want to be editing his video on a marginal machine using a program of $65? At the very least, it would be wise to move to Premiere Pro. (Not that there there my company.)

  • A Blue Ray disc with a digital copy of the film sends me to a page to update Media Player security, but the button updated it does not work

I bought a 3-disc Blu - ray Star Trek film set.  The 3rd disc is a DVD-ROM with a digital copy of the film, for transfer to a PC.  When I try the transfer, there is a message saying update Windows Media Player to my system with the functions of security necessary to play protected content.  Then a link in the transfer of Star Trek dialog box sends me to http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp where there is a button to upgrade.  But it is faded, as when a disabled function is grayed out...  If clicked, the button will not activate.  What should do?

I ran Windows Update and updates was not available in Media Player.  I have Windows 7 Starter on a netbook Gateway

1/2 hour later, well, what do you know?  After many attempts and refresh in Internet Explorer, the upgrade button finally loaded and worked.  Problem solved.  Transferred film and plays very well.

  • Windows 7 Media Center can't find my DLNA certified DMP (an LG BD390 Blu - ray player model network).

I have a Player LG Blu - ray wireless connected to my home network.  Configuration of the network connection to the format Blu - ray says it is successful, and it is capable of downloading movies on the shared internet connection.  My management software from the network router (WRT610N model) Cisco Linksys® Network Magic Pro displays the Blu - ray player on its network card device.  LG Blu - ray player is a certified DLNA DMP (digital media player) device and the software supplied LG Nero MediaHome 4 (Server DLNA media graduate) successfully concludes the LG Blu - ray device when it starts.  So far, I've been unable to get the Windows 7 Media Center (supposed to be a media graduate DLNA server) to find my network Blu - ray player.  But the problem is more than just that the Media Center do not find my network device, even the 7 network and sharing Center window is not this network device when I select «View full map»  When I go to printers and devices on Windows 7 and select 'Add a device', it does not find my device of network Blu - ray player that passes by the Cisco Network Magic software and Nero MediaHome 4 software.  So what prevents the network of Microsoft Windows 7 software and Media Center software to my LG Blu - ray network player?

Media Center Extender technology owns and uses any DLNA.
I don't know why Umesh from Microsoft Support thought it was possible. You
will not be able to set up your Blu Ray drive as an Extender. You CAN use
Windows Media Player READ ON technology and streaming technology. You will not be
