Toshiba NB205 cannot Acess recovery Partition

I have visited before, but I can't do it again. I tried holding 0 and F8 but nothing works. Here's something I posted elsewhere on my problem.
NOTE: I need to know what caused the problem, I just need to get into the hidden restore partition.

Hello.

I have a Netbook NB205 from Toshiba. It comes preinstalled with XP Service Pack 3. For some stupid reason, I decided that I wanted to install Ubuntu Netbook Remix on this computer (note: I just received this model). Before installing it, I added some restore points. After that, I have loaded Ubuntu on a flash drive and booted from it. I installed correctly AND made sure that I installed it on the partition Z, the partition that I had done in preparation. He asked me several times if I wanted to co exist with XP, and I said yes to every time. If after installation of Ubuntu, it started fine. And after checking out, I decided that he was stupid and not user-friendly. So I started to boot XP to delete the partition and reclaim the space. Not the case. XP stopped about 75% through this first loading bar. A blue screen of death flashed on the screen and quickly disappeared. Then the computer restarted. Before launching windows (after selection on Ubuntu to boot), I was given "Unexpectedly closed Windows" screen Here's what I got with the other boot options:

1. boot in safe mode: a command script appeared, then the screen flashed blue, then the computer restarted.

2 safe Mode, command prompt: same as 1

3 safe Mode, Networking: same as 1

4. last settings that worked: same as described in the paragraph above boot

If I didn't have much luck with anything whatsoever.

I think it is that the boot sector XP got crashed or corrupted by the grub boot sector who use Ubuntu. My computer was not packed with any restoration or the XP CD of any sort. I stupidly did NOT create backup CD, even though I had no way of knowing this would happen ahead.

I have another computer, running Vista Home Basic. I can create CDs with Nero 8 (I have a USB CD drive to my netbook) and have many readers flash I could use to start things off.

What I really think I need to know if it is how to access the hidden recovery partition that is on my computer. After you set the restore points, I think that would solve the problem. I did once, but just before I could click on enter, my computer shut down by 0% battery. Talk about luck bum. I was hitting just random keys (which works surprisingly well sometimes), so I don't remember what I got.

Please note that all that is on my hard drive is not important for me, I've already evacuated all the files I need. So if this is a clean install, I need, I'm fine with that, well I have not all XP discs.

If you could help me I would be very grateful!

If the recovery Partition is damaged or missing, there is nothing you can do to restore.

You must order a set of Toshiba recovery disks. I found the site of contacts for you: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/navShell.jsp?cf=su_contact

Just click in this thread on your account name and you will see the list of all threads that are created.

I saw your ad on the other and you're pretty confused with this. On laptops Toshiba, there is no recovery partition and recovery image is recorded on the second partition in the file called HDDRecovery. Do not change anything here and you will be able to use the HARD drive recovery facility when you want using F8 and repair my computer option.

iTunes and QuickTime are not Toshiba applications and if you have problems with it you should contact Apple and their support. They have designed and tested clean products and they should be able to help.

  • Recovery partition into conflict with Norton Go Back

Hi - I've recently installed work of system of norton that includes Go Back, and from the hard drive on my Satellite light is working overtime, causing the fan to be almost full-time. I contacted Symantec who said that if my Toshiba has a preinstalled recovery partition it would be not possible to run Go Back on top of it. Can anyone tell if Tosh laptop computers have a pre-installed recovery partition? Does anyone else have this problem? Or is it maybe this recovery software as round-trip causes additional work on the poor old hard drive and this activity is quite normal. I'm tempted to just disable the round trip.
    Thank you

    Hello Matt

First of all, it will be interesting to know what model of laptop you have. Going back is not known to me but as far as I know on Toshiba laptop, there are partition created with Microsoft as usual installations CD and I don t understand the explanation of Symantec.

  • Diagram of default recovery partition Toshiba Satellite L875D

My Satellite L875D has the following recovery Partitions:

    450 MB
    450 MB
    9.36 GB

I guess that the 9.36 GB partition is used to create the recovery CD, but what are the two 450MO partitions? Are related to Windows 8/8.1 or something created by Toshiba for their software?

The operating system that is installed at the time of purchase was Windows 8 and has since been upgraded to Windows 8. 1

I created 2 sets of recovery CD, is it safe to delete the partition used to create so I can recover disk space?

I guess that smaller partitions are used by the Windows System.
Windows 8/8.1 supports an auto repair and restore option and I guess the partitions contains these files to repair.

  • Deleted recovery partition but recovered-Toshiba Portege Z830

Hi, I need help, I have this ultrabook so I deleted the recovery partition formatait not, then I got it but now when I press 8 and all options come live the Recovery Wizard does not see the recovery partition as it uses 2 and so it can't start the wizard of recovery toshiba thingy.

So when I want to put my system back to factory settings, I can't. There must be a way to astablisch the link with the partition and the wizard again. Help, please.

This can also be useful. Back in the day by pressing my computer showed a c drive and the partition of hard drive recovery is now visible 2 here. so maybe I need to start it by doing active or something? IM afraid to do that, without guidance, because then maybe I can't use the pc still who knows. So yes please help I just want to be able to put my system in the absence yet easy peasy lemon squuizy. > There must be a way to astablisch the link with the partition and the wizard again.
Unfortunately, this is not possible. It works with the factory only settings and if you delete or format something related to the recovery partition you won't access more.

I presume you didn't create recovery USB stick, right?
All you can do now is to order the recovery on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx disc and install it using external ODD.

  • Cannot find the partition recovery on the Satellite A200-1BP

    Hello

First of all, I have a Vista Home Premium 1BP A200 and I lost the product recovery disc and I want to create one with "Recdisc.exe" product of Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator or Vista.

They both failed because I didn't get a message "No disk HARD recovery Area!", then I looked in the "Disk management" section and could not find any partition without a name.

There were two primary Partition which were 1.46 GB 'in good condition (EISA Configuration)"and my Vista (c).
So, what should I do? Can I create a recovery partition?
Or can I set the Recovery Disc Creator? (v. 5.0.0.5)

PS: I got my computer several times with my CD, which probably used my recovery partition.
Seriously, I'm out of ideas and I don't want to lose 50 dollars just to get another copy of disc PR.

PS2: I used press '0' and 'F8' thing too, they no longer work.
Is there a way I can restore without any disk?

It seems that the recovery of HARD drive partition is missing
The first 1.46 GB partition is automatically created by Vista and the C partition is the system partition, the partition of HARD drive recovery doesn't seem to be available

    > PS: I got my computer several times with my CD, which probably used my recovery partition.
Retrieve you the Vista using the recovery disc or what drive did you use?

If you have installed the system using Microsoft Vista disk then, it was a big mistake because it deleted the partition of HARD drive

    > Is there a way I can restore without any disk?
Either you use a Vista MS disk and missing drivers, which you can download from the Toshiba page or you order the Toshiba Recovery disk don't see another solution

  • Toshiba NB205 - recovery media has been tampered

I have a Toshiba NB205. My netbook was also gently as when I first bought it, so I decided to do a cover on it. This netbook doesn't have a disk drive, so the recovery program gave the possibility of having the recovery media placed on a flash drive. So I went before the resumption, everything has been removed from the netbook, and then when he went to re - install, 20% it says there is an error, and the flash player has been tampered.

So now I'm stuck with a netbook that has no OS on it. Is there anyway to fix this without spending $40 on an external drive & then another $ 40 for the purchase of Toshiba recovery media to correct their mistakes.

This man of mercy of s, but it seems your flash memory stick is / is not ok
You have another disc of Windows 7 from Microsoft?

In this case, you can use this disk to create a USB bootable flash memory stick and you could install Win 7 genuine system using this USB key.

Missing drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page:

You must first create/burn image ISO of Win 7 DVDs. To do that you can use a tool called ImgBurn.
Now, you must use the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a bootable USB key to get the Windows 7 installed.

  • Cannot turn on FileVault 2: "some disc formats do not support the recovery partition" version of the OS - 10.11.4

    Hello

I went to turn on FileVault encryption for the first time, and when I click on restart (by FileVault guests) I got a error message that says "FileVault can not be enabled for the drive. Some disc formats do not support the required encryption recovery partition. To use encryption, reinstall this version of Mac OS x on a reformatted drive. »

I found an article from apple support for this problem with El Capitan who recommended first aid running in disk utility.  I tried this but then received the same error message.

    a little history:

-Mac OS 10.11.4 installed running on the brand/model ADATA SP 550 SSD

-This SSD is a 250 GB drive partitioned into two, with one of these partitions being my OS

-J' ran this BONE of a Bay external thunderbolt

-ssd is formatted as HFS journaling +.

I am really confused about this error message and couldn't find much online about it.  I use a fairly recent OS install.  I installed the operating system clean and made all my preferences and install so that I can encrypt and then back up this pristine OS environment in time machine so that I could always go back to it on the line in case where things are bunk too upward.  I'd have to install yet another OS to clean and do all my long software installs and system preferences settings... SIP.  I don't know if that makes a difference, but this version of the OS that I have been cloned by superduper to this SSD partition.

What is the brand of SSD that I?  Might that matter?  I appreciate all the comments.  I'm really scratching my head...

    Thank you very much

To enable FileVault, you need a recovery partition, which you don't have. You can create one by reinstalling OS X.

If you do not already have a current backup, please backup all data, and then reinstall the OS. * you don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need the backup unless something is wrong. If the system has been upgraded an earlier version of Mac OS X, you may need to the Apple ID and password to use.

There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional. Ask if you need advice.

If you installed the runtime Java distributed by Apple, and still need, you will need to reinstall it. It goes the same for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.

Related support article refers to OS X 10.11 ("El Capitan"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later versions.

  • marked as raw - recovery partition cannot do a system restore

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion Notebook PC g6-2252sa. I would like to restore it to factory settings. Unfortunately, I can't access the drive d: (recovery partition). It is marked as raw. I have no recovery disks. Is there anyway that I can activate the partition so that I can run a recovery? The laptop is running Windows 8.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Parry

Since you have not created a recovery media, you will need tobuy HP recovery media or HP partner.

If the recovery partition is marked as raw, it seems to have made changes for him.  It must be NTFS as pronounced. Since it's RAW, it is currently useless for recovery purposes.

The following image shows how a valid recovery partition should appear. The picture comes from my laptop loan Envy17-3002ea of current HP product.

  • Pavilion dv6t-2000 - cannot recover from the recovery partition

Hey there. I'm trying to restore my laptop with Win 7 settings, but I can't seem to restore from my recovery partition. I tried the F8, F11 key and on the ways to office with no luck. In some of them, recovery option is grayed out, but using the recovery on the Desktop Manager, I have recovery option, but he says to insert disk 1 before continuing. I have no disc and I already have a previous restoration set the last time I got my laptop (about 2 years ago).

When I click on my computer I see the c drive and d drive - what is labeled a recovery partition. I did a check of the recovery partition and there are no errors. It seems to work fine, except that my laptop is not to be used to recover. I know it's a major road, so I've never tested with it.

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated

It is more likely that some of the files were corrupted on the recovery partition. At this point, since you have no recovery disc, I would phone HP to order recovery media.

  • Pavilion g series: cannot access the recovery partition & disk do not work

Try to reset the computer to factory since it does not start in Windows.

When I try to enter in recovery "esc then F11" it will just try to load windows. Recovery partition is still there just can't access.

So I try to use disc 5 figure set I did 3 years ago & it starts on the 1st cd, but I get a message saying that the disk is not for this computer.

I'm like what?  This computer rendered & I have the best recollection no changes to anything that should have caused the recovery to think that there is another computer.

Suggestions on what I might have to do in order to recover my computer to the factory?

How can I access the partition recovery from normal mode does not work?

Why the hell does not work my cd?

    I bought the computer again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I can't return to Windows, even in safe mode.

If this is the case, then you need the recovery media you can perform a factory image recovery.

You can remove the hard drive and connect it to another PC through an external drive enclosure or a usb cable to sata. Which will allow you to copy your important data from the drive to another device of storage for extra security.

    Hello

I have a big red error and "unable to open file C:\RECOVERY. DAT" when I try to start my Windows Vista (Windows Recovery Environment) restore Partition on my old Asus F3E (I can start the Vista operating system without problems, but not the recovery partition).»

I read this and other messages that suggest to use the F8 key to access the Advanced Boot Options menu and select "repair your computer".

    My problems are:

    * My Vista Business doen't have an option to "Create a system repair disc" and I don't have such a drive.

    * On the Advanced Boot Options 'Repair your computer' is not listed as an option, so I can't access "System Recovery Options", I guess that's not present in my system.

    * bootsect.exe is not present on my system.

    (1) where can I get a "System repair disc" disc (trust)? I have another pc with Windows 7. Is it the same if I create a disc repair system there and I use it with Vista?

    (2) where I can get the bootsect.exe tool? It boasts such a disk or what?

    (3) bootsect/nt60 ALL if applies also in my case, fix the trunk of my Vista recovery environment? What happens if I try bootsect/nt60 D: where D: is the drive letter of the recovery partition which I can come up with tools such as ext2fsd? What happens if I use the option "Startup Repair" if I can get a system repair disc?
