Toshiba Satellite problem model # PS181L - T 03, 07, drive HARD and CD problem

My friend has a toshiba satellite, I don't know if he has a problem of room, it starts on a diskette.

The problem is that it cannot detect the CDROM and the HARD disk drive.

What can be the solution to this, thank you.

BTW, what is the way to reset the CMOS in parameter by default.

Thank you.

Hello

I'm not sure of the solution to the problem, but you can enter the BIOS by pressing the ESC key when you feed the PC.

I have just accquired this notebook, is possible to install a second hard drive for backup purposes? and there at - it wireless card available, can I install it to the Internet etc.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

AFAIK there is no expansion to second HARD drive slot. In this case, you cannot install a second HDD but you can create a partition on your first HARD drive.
You can use the second partition for a backup image or other important files.

II have also verified the information on the existing wireless and the wireless card is not available on this device. In this case, you can use a wireless USB key or a PCMCIA wireless card.

  • A Toshiba Satellite L300-01:00 - Sata 2 or 3 HARD disk controller?

    Hello

    I notebokk Toshiba Satellite L300-01:00

My HD is broken and I would like to replace this HD SSD.
This phone supports 2 SATA or SATA 3.

Thanks in advance for your support.

If you are the owner of the Satellite L300-01:00 should not be a big problem to get details and information about devices built in the notebook.

I recommend you to install one of the two material great diagnostic tools which are:
    Everest Home Edition
    Sandra Sisoft.
These two tools were recommended by the members of different communities and I love it too.

These tools provide a lot of information on the material and I guess you get also information about the properties of HARD disk controller.

    Hello

in regards to your audio driver, I can't tell you what is exactly the problem. I suggest that you install a newer driver. But now we come to your next problem:

You say, you couldn t find the drivers because you didn t find your machine? It's easy. Go to the drivers download page and the search for Satellite Pro M30.
Why? "PSM35E - 003: 0" being the model number which is not listed. Instead, you must find the name of the MODEL that is in your 'Satellite Pro M30' case.

Believe me, you will find the rather when you search for the name of the model.

Just give it a try and tell me if it worked... :)

  • Virus with Vista on a Toshiba Satellite problems

I am running Vista Home Edition on a Toshiba Satellite. Apparently I was infected by a virus because Windows Security Essentials flashed messages on my screen about detected viruses and he tried to quarantine. Unfortunately, I get a message that says something about Windows encounters a critical error and will be shut down for a minute. Also, my computer does not seem to hold a charge (battery) suddenly and flashed a message on the power supply or battery manager having a problem. I started mode without failure, and while it may take a minute for the Windows message while meeting a critical error to appear, he appears again and then stops for a minute. I can't get the computer to stay long enough to do anything. I even tried to try and disable the automatic stops when Windows encounters a problem in the same Mode window safe mode (F8), but it will still disconnect me and close. I tried trying to get Microsoft Security Essentials to run a scan but the critical error that meets Windows continues to turn off the computer before it can go very far. I'm puzzled and not particularly compyter savy. There, can someone help me?

Because it is a Toshiba product, I suggest that you ask them how to reinstall Vista.

    Or try their Forums:

At Toshiba, we could buy a recovery disc but it will cost money; and you don't know if it will work.

Or borrow a DVD of Microsoft Vista, don't buy Toshiba Recovery DVD.

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Windows XP and intermittent connectivity of Toshiba Satellite problems

Our Toshiba Satellite will not maintain its wireless connection. This will work for a while then drop off, sometimes it will come back again, and sometimes it won't.
Sometimes it shows that it is connected and the signal strength is excellent, sometimes it will show that the wireless network has limited or no connectivity. All other PC and laptop computers work properly in the rest of our House using the same wireless connection.

Does anyone have an idea of what might happen, it doesn't make sense to me.

More information would be interesting to know if you wait for help... What do you think?

You should put what model of laptop you have exactly, Toshiba Satellite said nothing. ;)

Anyway, if you have wireless issues there s always advisable to update the WLAN driver. The latest version can be downloaded from the Toshiba page:

    Hello!

I had problems with my Toshiba laptop.

When I tried to boot my system after a regular stop it does not recognize the HARD drive more.
BIOS indicates the drive HARD is not installed, the said BOOT Disk Manager failed.

Tried the HARD drive to a desktop computer and it works fine. This is not a new HDD SATA is recognized.
However, the boot sequence itself and other functions seem to be ok.

    Who is wrong?
The laptop is 1.5 years old and didn't have any problems before.

    Any help is appreciated ;)

    Hello

It seems that the HARD drive is damaged.
In your case the drive HARD test would be recommended.

Download the software called Drive Fitness Test. It the free tool that can be used for the test of HARD drive.
If the HARD drive is not detected or you will get errors, then it means that you HARD drive needs to be replaced and OS need to be installed again.

  • New drive HARD and no operating system on Satellite C660

    Hi guys and girls

I recently had some problems with my laptop, never resolved so the company that sent it just installed a new hard drive and outside to lose all my stuff that I had not saved, I lost my OS too.

The company told me that as I bought the phone in Australia, they had no record of recovery for this laptop.
They then directed me to the toshiba support site that deals with this. So not helping at all really. I need to know how to actually perform the recovery and where I can get the recovery media of!

What I have to download it on another computer and transfer it?
Pretty epic question, but I am a student in Holland right now and need of this laptop ASAP!

Really appreciate any help that can be provided.

    Thank you

    >.. then the company I sent to...
Did you send your laptop to the Toshiba authorized service provider?

For a long time, Toshiba offers notebooks without DVD recovery, but with the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. S manuals document is a detailed how to create this recovery disc. I presume you didn't create this recovery disk, right?

Now, after Exchange of HARD drive, you can install original recovery image using the installation of Toshiba recovery disc. There's no other way to do it. This is the case if you want to have the factory settings once again.
Of course, you can install version of the OS, but to do this you need original disk from Microsoft and valid license (product key).

Return to service. In General, they were right. They can not help you with recovery disk because European companies or providers offer don t taken such supported for laptops not EMEA.
EMEA is Europe - Middle East - North Africa.

If possible, install OS using Microsoft Win7 disk. All the drivers, tools and utilities for your Australian model, which you can download from http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

    Excuse my lack of knowledge.

    I received a Satellite M70-173.

I don't know if it's fixable and that's what I have to do. I also said that when you replace a HARD disk I need a recovery disk.

I reside in Cyprus and don't have is not easy access to the shops of style PC big supermarket.

I was wondering if I could use a generic HDD and if so is there a particular one that I need to acquire?

    Also

where would I go to get a recovery disk?

I got the laptop I can't afford to buy a new one at the moment and it is still in very good condition apart from the above-mentioned problems!

I wish that all the advice on what type of HARD drive, I would need or is available - rough cost so I don't get ripped off and if we change the disk HARD is as easy as I read. Also where I should go to get a recovery disc and if that's all I need to fix the laptop.

Thank you very much in advance for any help I can get.

    Peter

    > The laptop does turn on - is it possible to make a recovery of a damaged laptop disk

How do you do if you can't turn on the laptop?

What you could do is to remove the HARD drive, then place it into the drive enclosure HARD 2.5 external, then connect the HARD drive to another computer, to save the data.

In my opinion this is what you could do

  • Satellite P20 - formatting drive HARD and the installation of Windows XP Sp2

    Hello world

Beforehand, I want to thank you for taking the time to help me with my questions.

Due to system problems I'm trying to re - install Windows XP SP2.

Based on the installation process, I have two questions:

    1. when I start the PC, the operating system Windows XP installation CD in the CD drive, I am unable to run it directly. Instead the old operating system (which I want to remove) starts. Is there a specific key in the Toshiba P20 notebook that runs the CD automatically? I understand that when the Windows XP installation CD to run it gives me the option to format the HARD drive.

    2. If I want to format the HARD disk directly, what is the best way to do this?

Once again, thank you very much for the help

    Best regards

    Q.

    Hello

I assume that you have the original CD of Microsoft Windows XP.
To install a new OS, you must start on this CD.

Insert the CD and after laptop starting immediately press the F12 key.
This will enable the Startup menu, and then you may choose the CD/DVD drive as the boot source.

    As to question 2;
During the installation of XP Setup will ask you the HARD drive formatting. Simply to choose this option and the HARD drive will be formatted.

    Good bye

  • Re: Satellite P500-1F8 - where to purchase 2nd drive HARD trolley?

    Hello

I want to add an SSD in the 2nd Bay of my P500-1F8, but need a "caddy" provider to keep in. I removed the two lids HDD bay, currently unused Bay has SATA connections (but no box), but the cart must be different from the one currently being used, as the two screws are used to hold it in place, while the HARD drive is held in place with only one screw on the caddy.

I intend to use the SSD as a boot only disk and use the current 640 GB HDD for storage. I would have thought, with a laptop this expensive, the caddy would be included, it's only a piece of cheap Tin pressed when all is said and done!

Any help on this would be greatly received because I really have to add an SSD, but don't want to spend a fortune on a large capacity that would allow me to store all my music, etc.
    Thanks in advance, Roo

    Hey,.

I can understand you Roo, SSD are really nice so it s good idea to use it as a boot drive and use your HARD drive being stored.

Anyway, this HARD drive caddy, you can get to an authorized service provider. Guys can order all spare parts Toshiba so I'm sure they can order the correct caddy for you. Here is a list with all the addresses that you can contact them:

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite A205-replaced drive HARD and recovery CD does not. Media test failure

    Help, please

My wife's computer crashed, everything has begun with damaged or missing file windows\system32\en. He takes to the geek squad and diagnostic test says corrupted hard disk.
(Trying to recover the data is another problem to solve later)

To save money, I ordered a new HDD (WD320GB) installed the new HARD drive, inserted the recovery disc and get the following message:

    Pre-seed execution Environment (PXE) v2.1
PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - M0F: Exit PXE ROM
    Operating system not found

I see the new HARD drive in the BIOS, I changed the boot order to boot with CD/DVD player but still the message above.

    What now?
Thanks for any help I can get.

    Hello

Can start you on another disk, mate?

Normally, this message appears if you can boot from the HARD drive or a disk bootable t. In your case, you need to install the OS on CD/DVD first so I think the recovery disc's maybe scratchy or the reader doesn t work properly.

Then, try another disc and see what happens. :)

  • Satellite P300-16 t - adding a second drive HARD-success!

I have added a second hard drive today for my Toshiba P300-16 t.

I realized that I had a Toshiba SATA drive in a USB disk device that would spare - 250 gb.

I improvised by removing the feet spread on the cover of the second cage to hard disk using a sharp knife. I put the Bank in place ensuring maximum safety. I also used a heat-resistant material (say what) to secure the drive up as readers are rarer than hen's teeth. I made sure that the reader also had room to breathe. The cover was then released and I turned on my computer and it found the new HDD, the installed drivers at home but hey presto! Another 250 GB to play with.

Now, I did it is because I call four FSA in the United Kingdom but they weren't any help by providing a cage for the second disc.
Two said they only deal with businesses and not individuals.
Others have said that they only provide power cables and batteries!
Hope that my Tosh never goes down and I must use their services...

Anyway, I don't recommend anyone do what I just - it is possible if you are a bit adventurous...

    Have you used the Hotglue?

Surely, you can get the FSA HARD drive media. Unless there is a global shortage on cradles P300: p
