Toshiba Stor.e Alu 2 1, 5 TB not rocognized Time Capsule
Please tell me how to solve this problem:
Apple Time Capsule don't see HARD drive while the computer MacBook Pro itself defines.
I tried to format the drive in various formats, but the result is the same - drive is not visible!
Hey,.
In my opinion it has nothing to do with the disc external HARD itself if the laptop recognizes it but not the time Capsule
Is that the HARD drive works correctly because if you connect directly to the computer, it works. So the problem must be the time Capsule. You should contact Apple for assistance because it s not Toshiba related issue. There may be an update to the device or other thing that will improve the USB connection.
Good luck! :)

Toshiba Stor.e ALU 2 s 3.5 "does not work with my XBOX
Hi all, first timer here
Just got a Toshiba external hard drive as a gift. Wanted one for a while, mainly to use with my XBOX 360 to watch movies and listen to music on. However the xbox does not pick up the hardrive (connected via USB), but he'll be looking for my friends generic hardrives. Anyone has any idea why?
It looks like a fairly recent model, here are the specs in the (very rare) manual that came with the hard drive:
Toshiba stor.e 2 s 3.5 ALU "
1 TB
USB 3.0
Backward compatible with USB 2.0 (I don't know what that means "backward" here)I'm not a computer person. I use the laptop to surf the web, media, applications etc, basic College work. Few of my friends have external hard drives, mainly cheap generic brands of the average and all work fine on my XBOX, just plug-and-play.
If anyone has any advice on how to do it, or even where to go woth my question I would really appreciate it.
TIA
CreamyHello
In my view Backward compatible means that you can use this HARD drive with USB 2.0 ports. But the fact is that USB 3.0 port provide 900mA and USB 2.0 only 500mA.
I guess that's your HARD drive
http://www.Toshiba-multimedia.com/en/store-externe-Festplatten/ALU2-s-35/
According to specifications, you can find info that this HARD drive should 900mATherefore connect the HARD drive to two USB 2.0 ports using a USB Y cable.
I think this will help you. -

TOSHIBA StorE Art 2 TB external hard drive not recognized by HP Elite /Win7
I have a new HP Elite desktop computer running Windows 7 Home Edition:
A few months ago, I bought a Toshiba Store Art HDD Ext 2 to, which until today has worked well. Today, I started the PC in the morning (with no updates of Windows or other software) to find that he would recognize is no longer the Toshiba hard drive. He always recognizes the WD drives and SimpleTech drives when they are plugged. All external drives are powered separately and do not rely on the power of USB.I tried the Art Store on other PC and it works fine. I tried to change the cables, the cable works on other players (and other cables will not do this work of Art store). I tried several ports USB 2 on the PC, with no luck * (but all the ports work with other readers).
I try verified Drvivers of COMPUTERS and MANAGING disks. There is no sign of the disk (not defective disc), it is simply not there at all.
I searched on the web - try a variety of techniques (disconnect the power PC) and much more. No luck.
PC specifications are:
Operating system
MS Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit SP1
CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT
Intel Core i3 530 2.93 GHz 30 ° c.
Technology of 32nm Clarkdale
RAM
3.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665 MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard
MSI 2A9Ch (CPU 1) 38 ° C
Graphics
HP L1906 (1280x1024@60Hz)
ATI Radeon HD 5450
Hard drives
488 GB Seagate ST3500418AS (SATA) 31 ° C
Optical drives
Device USB WD virtual CD 1110
HP DVD-RAM GH60L
Audio
Realtek High Definition AudioWorks well with all other readers. and it worked with Toshiba until this morning.
Clues?
Thank you
I put t really know what can be the problem.
If everything worked a few days previously, first try to make back the OS using System Restore tool just to see if this will help. -
Every time when I connect my new external 1 to (2.5 ') USB3.0 HDD of my PC, there is automatically a virtual cd drive.
It only contains the manual and a link to the 'revolutionary' Toshiba market and there is no way to remove it permanently.
The whole score is 6 MB in size, and in my opinion totally useless (there is no available encryption).Toshiba is not able to update their software "Toshiba drive Converter" when they release new material to give to users who want a simple portable drive without any publicity, a chance to get what they paid for?
> The whole score is 6 MB in size and in my opinion totally useless (there is no available encryption).
The partition any HARD drive could be easily deleted.-You must right click on the desktop icon and select Manage
-Now in the management of the computer window click to enlarge: the computer management (Local) \Storage\Disk management that you can find in the left pane
-Now right click on the partition or volume you want to delete and select "Remove the Volume" in the center pane. Note! You must choose the partition of 6 MB on the external HARD drive that you connected to the laptop!
-The partition will be deleted.;)

Toshiba Stor.E TV + Wireless Network Connection does not work
I can't transfer files from my desktop PC to the Stor.E via the wireless network. I use a USB WiFi dongle with a Toshiba label thereon, such as provided by Amazon when I bought the Stor.E and I had a lot of trouble so he could connect despite the strength of the signal being 7 of 10 bars.
I now get linked and read directories right on the PC but when I try to transfer a file transfer 1% (he said) of the file and then hangs until, presumably, it expires a few minutes later and told me then the USB WiFi dongle has failed. However, according to the network set up it is still connected.
I tried to access the interface of Samba using 192.168.1.9 port number, which is that of the Stor.E, and by using a browser on the PC and all I get is a page that shows a simple example of HTML + CGI - that is the Samba interface?
Anyone has any suggestions or do I return to the transfer of files via a USB.

Stor.E ALU 2s no time-out
Hello
I have several Toshiba USB hard drives, that I use as storage media with a cable TV box.
Type DTP110 turns off after a few minutes if you do not use.
Type Stor.E ALU 2s continues to operate. There is no point when not in use.
Desturbing more however is the squeaking noise when the box is turned off, which cuts the power of the forced HD.
I sent a request for Toshiba if there is a tool to set the time-out, no response.
Anyone know a solution?See you soon,.
kyriako.Hello
I don't have a solution for you, but I may be able to enlighten us.
It is likely that the hard drive does not meet the host power management controls.
I don't think it's possible to solve by any other piece of software, unless it's an update of the firmware.
If you want you can chech in running a modern Linux host and attaching this player.
Run the drives under Gnome application and try to read the SMART attributes and / or request a counters. The results it will show the way.
Success at the point of Linux to a kind of incompatibility between the HARD drive and your device.
Same result in Linux shows that the HARD drive does not respond to these common commands and there is not much to do about it.Tom br

Stor.E Alu 2 guard spinning
I just bought a Stor.E Alu 2 2.5 "external hard drive. It works fine but when connected to a pc, you can feel and if you listen carefully, hear that he maintains is always running. In itself, this isn't a problem for me, but I was wondering if this is normal behavior and this affects the service life of the device. Since most of the time the player will be connected to a pc that is powered on 24/7, the player will also turn 24/7, where my concern.
And what is with diode? It must be turned on, but should not blink all the time.
It only flashes all the time or not?I have three external hard drives and when I put my hand on it, I can feel some sort of vibration, although there is no read/write activity. The HARD drive is also hot all the time.
I think that you should not be worried about it. This HARD drive is like the others and there is no big difference between your Toshiba and my Hitachi HARD drive. -

10 Windows does not even recognize Stor.e Alu 2...
I bought external HDD Stor.e Alu 2 750 GB before I went on Windows 10. Whenever I connect the HARD drive, the blue flashes, but it is nowhere! It's like not even connected! Anyone know what I can do about it? Thank you in advance.
Hi Pokecelebi,
You can try to connect to another system, or change your USB cable and try to connect to different ports. I have a few questions for you. Kindly answer as much as I'll help you also.
What exactly happens before you had connected your external drive to your system?
How old is your HARD drive?

I m new in this forum that I recently had a Toshiba Store Tv 1.5.

I Don t really know how to do and I like to watch movies in their original language. I would appreciate if you could please let me know how to do it.
Thank you much in advance.

As far as I know the subtitles are part of the software.
