Toshiba warranties - no value in Thailand

Hello

Probably applies to many other countries and situations. If you thought that to have an international warranty would be useful on trips abroad and then think again. When in Thailand the only service center Bangkok - and guess what - they say they speak English, but unfortunately it is unrecognizable. So if you wanted to courier or post your laptop - forget - unless you have provided it to the end, you have to deliver in person - maybe an hour make you fix will have spent you as much as it costs to buy a new one on the costs of travel and accommodation.

TOSHIBA - listen to this - an international guarantee is worthless if your client cannot communicate with you - so stop abusive sales.

Eventually, you meet a Thai who don t speak perfect English but I'm sure guys can understand everything. I think that there are more people who work for the Toshiba AEP in Thailand and I m sure they speak English very well.

I was in Thailand several times and of course, people have an accent that is sometimes difficult to understand, but you can always communicate with the locals.

I was unable to install the Toshiba Value added package (vap-vista-1011btn-en) or any version before it. I talked to technical support Tosh for many times and they always promise of customer support will respond to the request, they never do.

Towards the end of the installation, start the process of "Computational space needs" an error dialog box that contains "ID_ERR_NOTINSTALLVALZ_MESSAGE". The only option available is 'ok' and when this field is selected the installation rolls back and the finishing screen says "The wizard was interrupted before that TOSHIBA Value Added Package can be installed completely".

I'm, I'm sure you understand, VERY frustrated by this problem. I bought (the very expensive) Vista Ultimate as Toshiba, claim that this laptop is Vista ready and it is quite possible, but the drivers and software provided are not. I also have problems with:

    Hello

You run the 64-bit version of Vista?

I m not very surprised that you are not able to install the Package Toshiba Vista added value.
All the drivers, tools, and utilities are designed for the 32-bit version of Vista!

To my knowledge the drivers 32 bit don t run on Vista 64-bit operating system!

Regarding the error ID NOTINSTALLVALZ ERR MESSAGE.
It seems that the BIOS update could solve this problem.

This was reported in different threads here in the Toshiba forum!

  • Satellite Pro L650 - 1 CG-corrupted HARD disk

    Hello

My laptop for a few years and my hard drive just died. Bought a new hard drive and all is well... except that I have never created a recovery DVD (I know, stupid, won't make the same mistake even once).

The laptop came with a recovery disk that installs Win XP, but I can't seem to install Win 7 and all standard software drivers and Toshiba, it doesn't seem to work. I tried to download all the drivers on a separate computer, but I have no idea of the order of installation, or what I really do I install if I'm honest.

I read online that it is possible to pay a relatively modest fee and get a new boot disk sent me that would answer all my questions, is this possible and which is the best way to fix my problem?

    Thank you

As said already Ilay. You can order the recovery of the function of Arvato disc.
But I m wondering why you are not able to install Windows 7 using the Microsoft disc.
    What exactly is the problem?

Did you already install Win 7 and have some problems to install the key drivers?

The order of installation of drivers is very simple: you should start with the current drivers as display driver, chip driver utility, LAN, WLan, etc. then follow with other Toshiba Software and value added package.

    Hello

Of course, you can install Windows 7 on your good old classic.
But the fact is that there is no official driver Win 7 on the page of the European driver Toshiba, it seems that you have to collect the pilots in his own hand.

But in general this should not be a problem of submission.

  • Satellite P305-S8832 - media buttons do not work with Win7

    Hello friends, wise

I recently installed two new hard drives (500 GB 7200 RPM OS / 500 GB 5400 RPM DATA) and I did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit on my 3 1/2 Toshiba Satellite P305-S8832. Everything except the media buttons works well enough.

I downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba repository, including the installer of the Software for Windows 7 Toshiba and package valued Toshiba. These touch buttons above the keyboard and between the speakers still doesn't work, no light, no response, nothing. I checked the bios.

These buttons work out of the box with Ubuntu Linux, Windows XP and Windows Vista.

    Any advice?

    Hello

In General, the multimedia keys are controlled by VAP (value added package) and the buttons should work after the installation of VAP.

    Found the drivers here:
    [Satellite P305-S8832 drivers: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2059997& rpn = PSPC0U & modelFilter = P305-S8832 & SelCategorie = 2756709 & selFamily = # 1073768663]

It seems that there is also a newer version of VAP.
Check other new series Sat P in order to get the latest version of VAP.
Also install the hardware installation. This tool allows you to customize your hardware parameters

  • Satellite L300 PSLBGE - unknown device in Device Manager

    Hello!

I would be very grateful for any help/tips if anyone has an idea what to do...

My friend has the laptop mentioned above (w/o OS preinstalled) and we can't get the graphics card work properly - situation is the following

    (1) mobile intel 4 series express chipset family, and an unknown device with an exclamation mark in Device Manager
    (2) both are on the same PCI BUS 0, device 2?
    (3) intel does not work because there is no free resources (I should remove the unknown device?) to work with
    (4) HW ID for the unknown device is pci ven_8086 & dev_2A43 and intel pci ven_8086 & dev_2A42 (so basically the same, right?)
    (5) Finally, and most importantly, if I go to the desktop-customize-advanced (first of all no resolution 1280 * 800) I see under adapter type:. Exactly, nothing... under properties, it appears: device not plug and play, Super VGA and under driver, I see just the status and the ability to stop, off, automatic, ask... the device at startup... If I turn it off, the screen just does not shine when the laptop is turned on...
    Any ideas? I'm insaneeeeee...

Vista Home Premium, all other Toshiba SW installed (value pack, intel BIOS 1.9, etc. - maybe the BIOS did it?)

    Thanks in advance!

PS maybe SP1 I now install help?

    Hello

Wait a minute: I checked the Vendor ID and Device ID on www.pcidatabase.com and this is the graphics card Intel. So I think that's the reason why you can t change the resolution of the screen.

I guess you forgot to install the display driver. See the Web from Toshiba site because here you can download the driver:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

After that you should t have no exclamation point.

You can install SP1 for Vista, but that does not solve the problem with the missing display driver. But you should install it because it contains a lot of updates to security, they are important. In addition, I recommend to install SP2 for Vista.

    Good bye

  • Satellite T130-15 t - cannot start, how do I back up my data?

    Hi all

before to explain my problem, sorry for my bad English, I'm french (lol).

So, I bought a Satellite T130-15 t in July 2010. I've never had a problem with, but yesterday, when I want to stop my Windows computer stopped without problems, but the computer does not stop (black screen and my computer never stopped). I push my "power" button a second time and it was good.

But after that, I couldn't boot my laptop (when I pressed my button, it has no effect). I disconnected my battery of my laptop and plugging it back in, after that I have to reconnect my screen become white (my computer was "switched off" and my screen has been "activated" and white). And I could not turn on my computer.
Given that my battery emptied and my screen turns off also.

    I have 2 questions:

    What is the problem?
I need a return to my Toshiba product?
I have in my data from the laptop I need absolutely.
How can I remove it without losing my Toshiba warrantly? Then I go to "authorized service center" that can extract my hard drive, copy of my data, and this without losing my warranty?

I hope that my message is understandable lol.
    Thank you very much.

    Hello

    > I need a return to my Toshiba product?
No, you can t back of your laptop. It s according to your country, but normally you only have 14 days to return. After that, it is not possible to s.

    > How can I retrieve it without losing my Toshiba warrantly? Then I go to "authorized service center" that can extract my hard drive, copy of my data, and this without losing my warranty?
If you go to an authorized service provider your laptop can be repaired for free time guaranteed. So you n t have to pay for the repair.

But backup your data are not covered by the warranty I think. So either you do it yourself or you ask the guy how much it will cost.

In General if your cell phone doesn't starts (without screen) HARD drive installation and Windows is not affected so after repair, it should be possible to access all of your data and start again.

  • Satellite X 200 - 21W, need a 32-bit driver for nVidia GeForce 8700 M GT

    Hello!

I need a Vista 32 bit driver for my GeForce 8700 M GT. The toshiba driver is too old for Gears of War. The game requires at least the pilot 163.44. Anyone have any idea where I can get one?

    Thank you to

    Hello guys

You can do what you want, but be careful with all these drivers Toshiba is not approved. As you know cell phones must be cooled properly and it there a lot of other factors is responsible for this. Toshiba sets different values and parameters of the graphics card itself and I heard that by the use of some third party drivers, these values can be changed and not only temporarily.

The changed values in the graphics card BIOS may result with permanent running cooling fan, high temperature graphics card, and so on. Very interesting, is that there is no chance of getting the original values, even after the installation of operating system with supplied recovery media.

I hope that something like this will not happen to you and you can use your laptop as before, but in my opinion you should think twice before using the drivers not approved by laptop manufacturers.

    Hello world!

I don't know how, but I have a problem when my windows Vista from (running)
The problem is with these file TCrdMain.exe this file is for Flash cards, end running every time when I put my PC on (with windows startup). But I see this problem: "Run time error file TCrdMain.exe ' and I should click Close.
I don't know where can I uninstall this program and when I find that driver (Software) (if I uninstall and then install this driver, maybe that everything will be OK). This is the main problem.

    And another question...
There are so many programs with this computer (laptop), and if I want to install Windows XP for example, where can I find everything (each programs) there may be 10 or 15 pograms.

It will be a big problem if I change my OS. Y at - there a site where I can download, everything...

    Hello

I'm not very well why the executable Run TCrdMain.exe error, but it is certainly up to Toshiba FlashCard software and the FlashCard belongs to the package Toshiba Vista added value m.

Kody is good. Reinstall the VAP and check if this helps solve this problem.

    With regard to the question of the other;
You are right; the notebooks are preinstalled with many different applications. But it is necessary because the laptop supports many different features.
However, if you want to install XP OS on the X 200 PSPB9E series, you will need drivers Toshiba XP and all need Toshiba XP drivers are available on the European driver Toshiba page

You must install all the drivers available if you want to use all the features of the laptop.

  • Portege M700 - Windows 7 RC (7100) - function keys do not work

I installed the Windows 7 RC on my M700 and all the drivers for it (if no Win7 have been there that I chose the Versions of VISTA)
Most things work ok - the only thing that doesn't work is the function keys.

If I press the FN key - light signals - OK
But if I try to use these keys - they do not work (touchpad on/off switch, etc.)
AND the on-screen menu is not presented more — as in Vista.

Y at - it a package installer/driver for the Toshiba utilities / added value pack availabel, that brings this feature back in Win7?

As you know that Windows 7 is only version of trial and Toshiba didn't start support for it.
If some drivers, tools, and utilities are running Windows 7 is nothing else than to chance.

When Microsoft launch Windows 7 for sale of Toshiba, and other manufacturers of laptop will begin support in his favor.
This means that Toshiba muss design new tools, solve all the problems, test them and offer on Toshiba support and download page.

At the moment there is nothing you can do about it.

Maybe stupid question now but why you installed Home Premium when your laptop was offered with the original Toshiba Win7 Professional recovery image?
As you know recovery image contains all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities and all in working order.

In your case, I can only imagine cards flash don't work correctly, but why this happens, I can't say with certainty.
Is the card properly installed wireless (Device Manager)?
