Touchpad HP ENVY 15-j068ez

Hello

I just bought a HP ENVY 15-j068ez and I am struggling to find a way to disable the touchpad.

What should I do to deacivate? I do not have it when you use a mouse.

Thanks for the quick response!

Sparrowtrips

Hi Sparrowstrips,

On some laptops, the TouchPad can be disabled by double-clicking the power hotspot located in the upper left corner of the touch pad. If the laptop doesn't have such a power hotspot, you can always disable the ClickPad in settings control panel.

  • Touchpad HP ENVY 4-1215dx problems

There are a few problems with the touchpad on my laptop 4-1215dx HP ENVY.  One problem is the bottom of the touch pad, which is used for left and right clicks.  Sometimes the click noise is very loud and sound like something is broken, and the click does not work.  If I put the laptop mode only 'sleep' and leave it for 3-4 hours, everything works when I exit mode "Eve".  I highly doubt to update or reinstall the driver would fix the loud rattling noise.

The second problem occurs on when you tapoterez the main part of the touchpad to make a right or left click.  I have tap several times, and the click does not work.  It works after taking the laptop out of fashion 'sleep'.

The two problems are random and cannot be re-created at will.  Due to the loud click noise I think something can be broken with the touchpad or the motherboard underneath.  If the touchpad is broken, can it be replaced or what I have to live with it or get a new laptop?  Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Hi @garyg45

I saw your post about the problems with the touchpad of your wife. From what you described, it could be a hardware problem with the touch pad. I suggest you reinstall your Synaptics TouchPad because it is a solution that requires no disassemble the laptop or send it in for repair.

    Synaptics TouchPad Driver (Windows 7)

    Synaptics TouchPad Driver (Windows 8/8.1)

If you have had the laptop for less then one year or bought a long warranty give us a call for a repair. You can reach HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or Start here if you live outside of North America.

The TouchPad is a replaceable part and page 54 of your Maintenance and Service of Guide , you will find instructions on how to replace it and the compatible replacement part numbers. Do not do this if you are in warranty, as this leads to the cancellation.

  • Disable Touchpad HP Envy Windows 8

I have a pen and press who confuses the computer and think I'm using the touchscreen. Sometimes I do, so I don't want to turn off the touch function. However, when I go on change something, like writing an email or a search on google, the touch keyboard appears which for some reason any is huge - it used to be small.

When the touch keyboard appears, it minimises everything else, so I have to resize my windows again. Its annoying if freaking. I need to know how to disable my touchpad or minimize.

I posted this question before, and a man tried to help me, but what he suggested did not work. I can resize the keyboard, and the little icon to the left of the narrow window box does not have the tiny keyboard.

His work computer, so I can't exchange it, despite everything, I don't know if it's a windows problem 8 or an HP problem. I tried the two forums.

Help please before I lose my * beep *.

    See you soon

  • Disable touchpad HP Envy 17

I have exactly the same problem you have posted... Do you have a solution?  There is no 'mouse' or "Point Touch Control Pad" with a disable to kill the touchpad.  I am thinking to resort to disassemble the laptop and unplug the cable that plugs into the touchpad itself.  I also deleted the synaptic touch pad (Windows 7) device driver and did not help.

I'm pretty sure that remove the cable from the touch pad will fix the problem, but it is a fairly long process... 20 with respect to and then if I still wanted to sell the laptop, I would probably have to plug the cable back in again for someone else.

    Please help, Dave

I've done what I suggested above to remove the flat cable for the touchpad disable touchpad and it worked very well.   I removed the two ends and folded cable where HP had folded it and scotch taped it to the system board next to the connector where it plugs IO on the system board so that someone will be able to put it back in if I never sold it.  On the plug, it has a little fitting valve rubber to flip upward to allow you to remove the cable at both ends.  I don't have any errors saying that it was not connected.  After the cable has been removed it simply does not work which is exactly what I wanted.    Problem solved.

  • Lock touchpad HP Envy d6 on Linux

    Hello

I have a similar question in this section.

However, I'm using Linux. The button doesn't work at all - LED diode which lies next to her is not working too. I know that it is driver problem, since the touchpad needs the driver with this feature. Is there such driver for the touchpad for Linux? If not, are there plans to make a?

    Best regards

It's Ubuntu 14.04. I have tried to install Debian, but had problems with the drivers from the internet - and Ubuntu worked out of the box, so unfortunately that was the way to follow when I need my laptop to the top and run as fast as possible.

    http://AskUbuntu.com/questions/453876/how-to-install-synaptiks-on-touchpad-on-Ubuntu-14-04

14.04 Ubuntu can't Synaptics. If you install Debian, you must have a usb flash or a cd with the network drivers, because it will install the latest packages. Means that you don't have to download SGB updates after a fresh install.

  • HP ENVY m7: deactivate Touchpad on ENVY m7 Notebook PC

Keys to touch make me life extremely difficult. How to you turn off the touchpad on this computer?

I tried looking for the answer. I do NOT have a 'Device settings' tab in the 'Mouse' on the control panel option. I went to the Device Manager and uninstalled Synaptics Touchpad, rebooted, and it had reinstalled itself. Tried several times, whenever I restart, it in the list and the touchpad functional rest reppears.

I can't stand it. This computer is new and I like it otherwise, but this is actually a question of making or pause with me. He is initially make me lose a lot of information, when I type because brushing lightly with my hands.

    Hello

    It is very good.

Try to download and install the latest version listed for your laptop on the following link.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp68001-68500/sp68122.exe

If this installs Ok, restart and check if this option is available via the Device Manager.

If it installs Ok, but this option is still grayed out, open windows, control panel and top-right next to the display by: select "large icons".  Since the new layout, select mouse then select the tab settings of the ClickPad - look here for an option to disable similar to the image below.

  • HP ENVY Notebook PC m6: Disable Touchpad HP ENVY Notebook PC m6

I never use the "Control Zone" button on my laptop because I use a wireless mouse.  Before that I have upgraded to Windows 10, I was able to disable the touch pad continuously.  Since the upgrade, I have to go to the control panel and turn it off after each reboot.  Is there a way to keep the key setting as disabled until I have decide to change myself?

    Hello

    Try the following.

Hold down the Windows key and press R

In the run box, type regedit and press enter

In the registry editor, navigate to the following

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Install

Inside, look for a key named DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade

If it is present, right click on the key and select Edit

Set the field data of the value 0 (zero) , and then click Ok.

    Close the registry editor.

Disable Synaptics ClickPad in the usual way, and then check if this setting is now preserved after a reboot.

    Kind regards

  • Partially envy 15 touchpad does not work

I bought the hp envy 15-j063cl in October 2013. The touchpad worked fine since I bought it until last night, when I just could not scroll vertically, on the side, zoom in and out, or switch between applications by sliding my finger from the left or the right. I can still use the touch pad to aim and click things well. I tried to look at other forums, but none of them seem to have the same problem as I do. Can someone help me with this please? Thank you.

    LovelyBeagle,

    Welcome to the HP Forum.

Find, open to view the file named: difficulty TouchPad / ClickPad

In particular, you can try the recommended first step for 'relax' things in working order.

You can then skip to the section titled TouchPad / settings ClickPad

Unless you become really stuck, avoid 'invasive' methods described at the base of the document (refresh, Reset, recovery) - Although these would probably work, everyone involved that you reinstall the part of the operating system as a whole.  You don't want to do unless you're quite ready: backups, lots of backups, the correct kind of backups and support recovery, more time and patience to do the job.

  • HP ENVY M6-1105dx: Synaptics Touchpad freezes briefly after typing

The touchpad of my HP Envy M6 1105dx hangs for several seconds after you type on the keyboard, each time. This problem started after I upgraded to windows 10. My drivers are up to date. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers, but that has not worked. I would rather not reinstall windows if I didn't, so I decided to come here. All advice is appreciated.

Hey, I had the same problem and it's really frustrating.

Here's what I did to solve the problem, I hope it helps.

Open 'Control Panel' by clicking on search and enter the control panel.

Then, open "Synaptics Touchpad", it will have a version number after it I think. Mine did.

Then click Advanced in the upper tabs.

Then you should see that a "filter activation time" set it to zero seconds.

Test now by typing and then move the mouse and see if that fixes the problem... it's me.
