Touchpad lag after installation of updates

Original title: Tocuhpad go crazy to the point Windows 8.1

Hello

I have a brand new notebook Acer Aspire E15, running Windows 8.1. Since a series of updates was installed, my touch pad has been going crazy. It moves on its own when I try to move the cursor, moving a very lag. Using an external mouse works fine. So far, I tried to do a restore system (of no use), removing the pre installed McAfee (I have my own antivirus), an installation of an update to the Acer driver download and update drivers but Device Manager (who told me that it is has been updated). I also ran a virus scan, which has found absolutely no threat. The touchpad worked fine for awhile and then started acting again. Acer support suggested a system restore, but wouldn't the update just install again and give me the same problem?

Your contribution to this issue would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you!

Thank you for your response. I fixed the problem by resetting the system to the factory settings.

After the download and installation of updates on my desktop Gateway (FX7020) the computer freezes on me and was forced to shut down hard. After a few attempts to start the computer, I was able to get into safe mode. After some time in the exploration of the event viewer I tried out and re-start of normal BONE. I was unable to make it through the boot sequence and had to shut down hard again. I waited a while and it made back in safe mode, but this time after 25-40 sec. Hello

    Method 1:
You can try restoring the system to safe mode and check:
Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.
You can consult the links for:
    System restore

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, you can refer startup Repair in Windows Vista, which is a recovery tool that can fix certain problems. You can check the link:

  • Satellite U400 - PSU40E Synaptics touchpad problem after the recent update to BIOS

    Toshiba welcome,

I've tested this in reverse, this is why the statement in the subject as it looks. After upgrading the bios of 3.00 to 3.50 touchpad loses its precision. Very rude and useless its like that.

I tried different drivers, everything, but the only way to really solve this problem was it downgrade to 3.00 OR uninstall the driver Synaptics completely. Second solution, unfortunately, is unacceptable, because then I lose some features, like click on contact, which I don't use and control.

    Best regards

    Wojtek

    Hey Buddy

I U400 and the BIOS has been updated to the newest one.
The touchpad works like a dream. I m using Win XP and Vista and there is NO problems after BIOS update!

In your case, this may be only a software problem and I think you can use the Toshiba Recovery disk and could reinstall the whole OS from the Toshiba drive

It is a really radical solution because the whole HARD disk may be formatted, but if the resettlement of these two drivers touchpad didn t help then I think this would be the last solution.

  • Issues of start-up after installation of updates last week

After HP or microsoft updates installed last week (the two are set to auto install) my laptop - Pavilion dv7 is having published the beginning upward. When the Office lights after start upward, my security essentials icon is red and my network icon has a blue spinning circle in it. After about 10 minutes and then a box pops up saying HP Support Assistant not working, looking for bugs (or something to that effect). 5-10 minutes later, the box disappears from high office, Security Essentials will illuminate green and the laptop connects to my network. This could be the cause of this problem? If I restore to before last week, everything works fine until the computer is updating again...

    Welcome to the HP Forum,

It seems that 'something' in the update list does not approve the configuration of your system.

    • You can turn off the automatic updates: Set of updates from Windows to notify you when updates are available so that YOU can decide which updates you want to download and install.
    • Disable "Recommended updates", if you wish.

Try the following to dig up the "broke" your configuration update:

    1. Use system restore to return the system to a working state.
    2. DISABLE automatic updates in Windows Updates - notify only the value.
    3. Reset one of your programs and settings that have been lost due to "going back in time."
    4. Manually CREATE a RESTORE point.
    5. You can even take this opportunity to create a new backup for your System Image.
    6. Then, in Windows Updates > > check for updates
    7. The updated list will show you that the updates are available for your system.
    8. Select AN update to the time - and install it.
    9. Restart the system - check the result.
    10. When you have found the culprit, stop > use system restore to 'come back' when things worked.
    11. Search for "Updates" in Windows Updates
    12. Find the update of 'Guilty' in the list of "Important available updates"
    13. Right-click on this update and then click on "HIDE".

Let it "Auto-Updates" off - a lot of people do it and it works very well.

I hope this helps you solve the problem.

  • Help - Windows crashes after installation of update today...

    Hello

System: Windows XP 2002, Service Pack 3 (do not know how to tell whether 32 bit or 64 bit?  My graphics are 64-bit, I think)
    Computer: Dell Inspiron 530
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT
1 browser: Firefox (updated today) 3.6.14
    2 browser: IE 8.0.6001.18702
    Flash: 10.2.152.32 (installed today)
    Antivirus: Norton Internet Security 17.8.0.5
Firewall: Motorola SBG900 (mentioning only because it made me more questions in the past)

Tried the upgrade Firefox and Flash (for Firefox) today, as requested. Installed everything fine. Tried to watch a clip video on CNN.com and got the blue screen and the crash.

I uninstalled both and reinstalled. Crashed again.

I then tried uninstalling both still once and downloaded the Flash for IE to see if it was a Flash problem or a Firefox problem. This version crashed too - blue screen with an error message.

A friend thought it might be a RAM problem and asked me to clean my msconfig - I did. No solution.

I's went to the display manager provided the graphics card and then examined for updates for the device driver. Unfortunately, the system thinks I have the latest and greatest.

It is the measure of my computer knowledge. I don't know how to disable my Norton, and frankly, not sure it's a great idea, as it has my software firewall in...  Don't know how/why/if that would even help?

Here is the lower part of the error message I got one at the moment I am the blue screen crash (in which case it helps)...

    STOP: 0X0000008E (0XBA490925, 0XA880D820, 0XE0000001, 0X00000000)
    watchdog.sys base - address BA490925, BA90000, Date stamp 480254ab

A simpler solution for me would be if there was a way to recover the previous version of Flash... but it doesn't seem to be only an old archived version I can find...

Can someone help/offers solutions that a non-geek might be able to follow (and not spoil the other stuff on the computer)?  Thank you!  :-)  It lasted four hours and counting so far...  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much!
    Liz

    Liz,

Stop it!  Cancel not toolbars, do not uninstall codes.

Start your computer.  Once everything is calm, open: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

Place the cursor over the flash window, right-click, choose settings, search for "hardware acceleratio" and uncheck it.

They will try to tell you, this is your driver, but some adobe-wingnut has a buffer uncontrolled in its code.

Anyway, it is fixed in the next version.

  • Responsive touchpad, after a recent update

I use a mouse wireless and disabled my touchpad.  After a recent update, re-enable the touchpad and I do not see how to turn it off again ('disable' is in greyscreen; all devices work properly, depending on the computer).  It will be a bad idea to uninstall the touchpad?  I would like the touchpad do not work when the transmitter of the mouse is connected and be available when mouse battery died.

    Hello

    1. what operating system is installed on the computer?

    2. the updates have been installed on the computer?

  • Vista SP2 update causing CompactFlash new hardware detection repeated even after installation of the driver

I have a footstool of m8100n HP Pavilion Windows Vista Home Premium.  Since the Vista SP2 which was installed yesterday through the update of Windows, my PC guard detection of new hardware when I registered.  The application popup never ask again once, ask later, or update/search recommended for software to install what is recommended.  After selecting the option recommended and install the software that it finds, I get a popup about CompactFlash is now detected and ready to use material.  After this exercise, looks all right.  However, every time I connect as administrator or standard user on my Windows Vista computer passes through the detection of the same material and the update.  He should not have to repeat this after installation and update of itself for the new hardware.  What is the cause and Microsoft is aware of this problem?

I worked with HP on the problem.  It wasn't a problem of driver from the manufacturer because it had no software update HP.  The integrated CompactFlash drive location doesn't have a drive letter assigned.  Do not understand why that would be a problem because on the removable media drive letters are assigned dynamically when you insert a card or a player.  Records didn't have drive letters when running on SP1 and it wasn't and issues then.  This seems to have become a requirement for SP2.

The fix was to go in Windows disk management and pre assign drive letters to the disks 1 to 4 that are for CompactFlash removable media, MS/MS-Pro, SD/MMC and SM/xD-Picture on my HP m8100n PC.  Once this has been done and that Windows detects new hardware because of the SP2 update drivers, it installs successfully and is no longer repeat the detection/installation process.

  • Printer problem after Windows XP updates on 06122013

Title updates: Windows XP original on 06122013

Updates of Windows XP on 06122013 seemed to make me lose contact with printer HP LJ1200 and had to perform the restoration of the system to 06112013 do work again. The printer is set up as a parallel device, running on Port DOT4_001 (according to article of Port in the properties of the printer) and was removed in the LPT1 Device Manager and computer rebooted and reloaded LPT1.
Tracking the whole Troubleshooting MS system under properties and nothing seemed to allow printing, so I restored the machine on the eve. Now the printer works.

Computer is a Xeon E1395 of double a ASUS PC - DL Deluxe Intel

Everyone still faces a problem of printing with the new updates?

    Hi Michael,

I see you got a problem with printer HP LJ1200 after installation of updates recently offered from Windows update.

What exactly happened when you were trying to print after the recent updates? Have you received an error message?

Thanks for the sharing of information when you perform a restore as solved the problem.

This issue would have occurred as a result of updates related to the printer or the additional updates to the hardware device connected to the computer. Sometimes, when these problems occur after Windows update, we should always check the specific updates that have been installed right before the problem occurred. In this way, we can identify the update that caused the problem.

As the problem does not persist now, I suggest you to download and manually install the updates individually to determine the exact cause of the problem.

Please let us know if you need help on this question.

    Hello

    I have a Samsung Slate 700 t PC running windows 7.

Since the November update, I can not connect.  The screen flashes just before he gets to the login screen.

I understand that this could be a problem with KB3097877.

I tried to start in safe mode and safe mode with command prompt. When it gets to the login screen, I touch the icon of connection and loading, it waits a bit then returns to the login screen.

I did a little research and press f8 for advanced boot menu it was suggested.  Except that it's a touchscreen pc and the wireless keyboard works until I get into windows.

I've reached the limit of my minimal knowledge and I'm stuck.  Any help would be accepted with gratitude.

    Thank you

    Hello

Yes, you just think the root cause of your issue might be KB3097877. However, your efforts to resolve the issue is highly appreciated.

If you are unable to start the computer in safe mode, then I suggest you to consult the below thread and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

Screen flickering and problems log on Windows 7 after installation of updates

If the problem persists, I suggest that you want to run auto repair with installation media and see if it helps you repair system files or not. For the execution of the task, I suggest you to try the steps below and see if it helps.

    Method 1

When you use the recovery environment (Windows RE) to troubleshoot startup issues, first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If this does not resolve the problem, or if you have additional problems manually, use the Bootrec.exe tool.

Because you cannot start the computer, you may need to create a bootable Windows installation media, and then do an auto repair, and if this does not help then you try to restore your computer to the previous date.

Note: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

If you are using Windows 7 then the link provided below might help you to download and create installation media.

Download Windows 7 Disk Images (ISO files)

    Method 2

If the problem persists, try to rebuild the BCD by using the Bootrec.exe tool. To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start the recovery Windows (WINRE) environment . To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Place the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
    2. Press a key when you are prompted. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
    3. Click repair your computer.
    4. Click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.
    6. Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

See the following link for more information:

How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/927392

    Method 3

If after performing the above steps, you are able to start the computer and access the desktop then try to Uninstall KB3097877 update if it is installed, and then reinstall it.

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.
