Trabsfer catalog MacBook iMac

Rental return and you want to transfer Lightroom Catalog of laptop on the desk, the ideas on the easiest route appreciated. No reliable access to cloud storage.

When the catalog is stored. If it's on an external hard drive, card or SD thumb drive you can simply import it as a catalogue. Otherwise, you will first need to export it.

I regularly use a catalog of travel on my laptop using a high speed for the catalog and images SD card. I then combine this with my master catalog on the desktop by importation.

  • Can I synchronize Lightroom catalog on iMac and Macbook with creative cloud?

I have an iMac and a Macbook and I want to know if I can synchronize the catalog to both computers. This way I can mark images on my laptop. Any ideas?

You can only sync via creative Cloud to an iPad, iPhone or Android device. But you can export a catlog for the Macbook to combine with a master catalog on the iMac.

  • MacBook iMac w/o catalog import/export?

I have a macbook and iMac. How can I continue to work on my notebook Desktop pictures? W/o import and export catalog several times? Some, like a Mobile with Lightroom?

Lightroom is designed as a single-user system. Sync files between multiple computers requires that you jump many hoops.

My recommendation and the simplest solution is to put your catalogue and pictures on an external drive and move the drive from one computer to another as needed.

Copy of the catalog from computer to computer on your local network would be the next option.

"Export as catalog" and "catalog import" would be the third option.

  • Crash of MacBook, iMac with SATA-USB cable files

    Hello.

My Macbook (2006) took a nose dive after a very solid 10 years of use. He has been blocked on the gray screen with the Apple logo and the spinning equipment. Forever. Would not boot mode safe mode or Recovery Mode. I accepted this.

I'm currently trying join my school for the HARD of MB my iMac disk files. I removed the drive HARD internal of the MB. I have a SATA cable / USB. I plugged the cable on my iMac and initially nothing was recognized even if I could hear the disk rotation. After about 2-3 minutes I got a message telling me the disc HARD cannot be repaired, but I could always transfer files. Great! That's all I wanted to do. Well, the HARD drive appeared in the Finder and I tried to navigate to find important files I got a message telling me that the HARD drive has been expelled irregularly. So I disconnect it, plug it in. Another few minutes and I get the same message (cannot be repaired), but this time I have no HARD drive in the Finder. I tried to run first aid at the disk in disk utility, without success. Now I can't even pop-up in the Finder or disk utility when I plug. I can hear it running, but nothing happens, and then I get a message "disc not eject properly.

My question is this: How can I get information from this my iMac HARD drive? Is there anything else I need to do? All I want to do is pull my notes of the current semester. Nothing else on this HARD drive as it was basically just a web browser/treatment for the past year.

FWIW: I think I was running Lion as an operating system on the laptop that I couldn't progresses from here with updates. I'm under El Capitan on my iMac.

Even if you already shot the player, have you considered using Disk Mode target instead?

Target disk mode, indeed, turns your Mac into a 'external drive '. In this mode, you can connect your defective Mac to Mac via FireWire or Thunderbolt and see the contents of the disc of the CMA on your Mac, as if the drive was an external drive. This not only allows you to easily access the data on the hard drive of the Mac, it also allows you to use the material of a Mac to boot another Mac operating system and data.

To access the target disk Mode, reboot your Mac and hold down the T key as soon as you hear the startup chime. Keep now until you see a FireWire logo or white Thunderbolt appear on the screen (depending on the hardware capabilities of your Mac). Now, you can directly connect your Mac to Mac defective with the appropriate cable and access the drive of this Mac. When you are done, unmount the drive of the defective Mac from your Mac running OS X, then press on and hold the power button / stop the Mac defective until the system turns off.

  • How can I synchronize mobile LR with the Macbook, iMac and iPhone

    Hello

I have an iPhone, iPad, Macbook Pro, and Imac.

I can't make LR mobile synchronization between all. It seems well between iPhone, iPad and iMac. Or the iPhone, iPad and Macbook.

Is this a limitation to LR Mobile or I do something wrong?

    Is there a solution?

    Thanks - CARLO

However as you have known the MacBook and iMac will not synchronize.

  • Can I sync my library iMac with my Macbook Pro

    Hi guys and girls

I use an iMac as my main machine for my photos and I have a Macbook Pro that I have to go on holiday etc.

Can I sync to my Macbook iMac catalog using the cloud or they remain only two elements separated as this is done without the cloud?

    Thank you very much

You cannot synchronize your two Macs using the "cloud".

You must manually move work from one computer to the other if you want to do. Use the file-> export as catalog on a single computer and file-> import from another catalog on the second computer.

  • 5.4 Lightroom on iMac and MacBook Pro

I have been using Lightroom on my iMac (OS X 10.7.5) with an external 4 TB drive plugged with my Lightroom Catalog and pictures stored on it. I just bought a MacBook Pro (OS X 10.9.2) and loaded my second copy of Lightroom on it.

I want to use my MacBook Pro when I travel to download the RAW files, edit and post pictures online etc. I don't have access to my catalog any when they travel. On my return, I want to have all my edited photos on my home iMac. They need not be kept on the laptop after that.

My external hard drive is too big to travel with (heavier than the laptop), but I have a smaller, that I can use for the trip. I wanted to just keep a catalog at home, but not sure of the most effective way to achieve. Any help appreciated gratefully.

You can export your images on the MBP of catalogue (file > Export catalogue) and import the catalog into your catalog master iMac. File > import from another catalog.

  • Q -? What happens to the catalog LR-4 when upgrading to LR - 6?

Plan to spend at imminent LR - 6.

Seat of LR-4 current catalog in iMac, 1 TB, 16 GB of Ram desktop applications, implemented to date in / running ver El Capitan OSX 10.11.4

LR-4 original bought and installed by using disk. (loved the simple disk of re - install, if I had a problem/crash)

Do not run Hrly time machine back-up PC to a separate hard drive Seagate >

(not the stand alone LaCie hard drives / duplicate, containing all my indexed * raw + Jpg + LR-Treaty Jpg photo) in case of crash.

Understand the LR - 6.5 more recent/current version will read new XQD NEF raw files? & are now without disc, requiring direct download online?

(* I do for security/peace of mind, where I've already lost the LR-4 catalogue for some reason any)

What happens to my current catalog of the LR-4 when I download LR - 6, 5?

Fact he skillfully but simply to assimilate my old catalogue LR-4 but with all the enhanced features of LR - 6?

Am I worrying about nothing, being too careful again?

    Hi ashleyk,.

When you install Lightroom 6 and open your Lightroom Catalog for the first time, Lightroom will be asked to update.

Note the latest version of 6.5.1.See keeping updated in Lightroom

Select Yes and you will have all the images, fixtures in the new version. For more information, see How to create and manage catalogs in Photoshop Lightroom .

So nothing will be lost and your catalog of Lighroom 4 is left intact after the upgrade.

About the XQD card, if your operating system recognizes the card XQD, Lightroom can read the data about them.

    Hope that helps.

    Kind regards

  • The passage of 5 Lightroom-Lightroom CC & my library on 2 Macs?

Back story: I keep my photos Lightroom imported into a separate folder named Lightroom_Photos on an external drive. I create intelligent insights for everything that is imported. Currently, I use Lightroom 5 on OS X 10.8.5 on my iMac end 2012 and mid-2012 my MacBook Pro. I copy the catalog 5 Lightroom on my MacBook Pro and Smart Previews feature to view photos. On my iMac, I have access to the original files and do all my editing and save here (in my Lightroom_Photos folder).

I installed OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) on my iMac and do not want to update the OS on my MacBook Pro.

Question1: IF I turn to the Cloud of Lightroom (CC2105) version on my iMac, I always will be able to use smart previews in my LR catalog on my MacBook running Lightroom 5?

In short, the iMac will be a new operating system AND a new version of Lightroom. That will do for me or my files when you try to access it on an older OS and the old version of LR on my laptop?

Question2: If I decide I can keep is no longer the Cloud of LR version, my Lightroom Catalog will still be usable in LR 6 (assuming that I buy this update)?

These questions also apply to Photoshop... boy I am hating the software updates!

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi Ileneh,

No, you would not be able to access Lightroom 6 catalogue and intelligent previews catalog Lightroom 5 on Macbook iMac as the downgrade of the catalogue is not supported.

Once you install Lightroom CC on iMac, you'll get an option to upgrade your 5 Lightroom Catalog to CC version and it will keep the two catalogs intact (Lightroom 5 and CC).

You can keep two versions of Lightroom installed on your iMac, if you wish.

Yes, you will be able to access to the catalogue Lightroom CC in Lightroom 6 If you choose to upgrade to Lightroom 6 standalone.

    Kind regards

  • Lack of music into playlists after iCloud question yesterday

    HI -.

Yesterday, there was a problem with iCloud in which connections with the Apple's music have been interrupted. After that the problem was apparently solved, I now double playlists and all the tracks in the playlists are not there, a few, in some cases only 1. This is the same experience on my macbook, iMac and iPhone. I disconnected and folder, synchronize my iCloud, on or off the option of Apple's music library. I have tried these things on all 3 devices and and still not see the tracks. All my songs are in my library and all my playlists are there... it's just all the tracks are not in playlists is the addition of double playlists (and even those who do not match between the two.

I replaced my file of itl iTunes library with the file since yesterday morning and when I restart iTunes, I can see the tracks that should be in playlists, but they are grey and the iCloud library begins to update, all the tracks again disappear and playlists double return.

Called Apple support and talk to a counselor and Advisor of sr and they couldn't help. If anyone has any ideas, I would be very grateful.

If this happens again, check the status for the Apple System Support page > https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/

  • AEBS latency problem

    Hi all

Recently I had a problem of serious latency with my 6th Gen Airport Extreme (model AC), which happens on the wired devices and connected wireless is not a wireless issue.  I tried a number of things to eliminate this problem... Rebooted the modem cable, restarted the AEBS, reset the AEBS to factory settings, downgraded the firmware as it seems to have started shortly after the 7.7.7 update, made sure that I wasn't sharing WIFI channels with the neighbors... None of these fixed the issue.  Just to make sure that it wasn't my access provider or the Internet in general having a bad week, I pulled out my old Netgear router, have everything connected to it and the latency problem disappeared.  I used it for a few days to make sure.  I have also connected my old Gen 4 AEBS and still no latency. I hooked the 6th Gen AEBS upward and returned latency, so I don't know what the source of the problem.  I tried to adjust some settings, but since this is the case for the cable connections and wireless, I guess it's more a hardware problem a matter of possible interference.  I have probably travelled all the troubleshooting steps, but thought I'd throw it out there when even to see if anyone else had any suggestions.

As a side to this note, I'm having a specific problem specific wireless.  Quite regularly, the individual devices are slowed to a crawl.  That is, for the moment my iPhone is listed as having a connection 802.11a/n/ac to 433Mbps, but after a while (sometimes hours, sometimes days), it will be reduced to 1 MB/s 802.11b/g/n.  One.  Although I am less than 10 feet from the router by means of a direct line of sight.  This also happens to my iPad, MacBook, iMac, actually all devices using a wireless connection.  The only way to remedy this is to reboot the router, restart the individual device doesn't fix it.  I got to the point of having to manually restart the router one or two times a week to make sure that everything is connected.  Products like Apple WIFI had some kind of keep alive or scheduled reboot setting.  Again, any thoughts?

    Thank you.

A few things come to mind:

    1. A number of Internet service providers began to role over IPv6.
    2. A possible incompatibility between the modem and your AirPort base station. Specifically, if you have an Arris / Motorola SB61XX-series modem.
    3. Your base station is defective.

We can try to help with any part of these elements.
