• my display settings keep returning on 2 screens at startup to the top

  I have attached a second monitor to my Sony laptop.  The 2d display monitor used to iterate through a docking station Kensington DisplayLink.  For some reason, the docking station picks up is no longer display for the #2--si monitor I recently started to connect the monitor directly #2 on my laptop.  Now every time I disconnect the monitor #2 to try to use the laptop with the Moose #1 display attached - after startup, it comes in white.  I discovered the Dungeon of display settings back to the #2 monitor, as the main display with the office displays only on the monitor #2 - it's why my laptop screen is blank - unless I'm reconnect the 2d display whenever I start.  But it is not practical and the net effect is that until this has been resolved I can't use my laptop away from my office.  I keep resettingt the display settings in the control panel to a single monitor, but it keeps going back to 2.  What is the solution?

  Interesting.   The part 'black screen' of your symptom could mean that explorer.exe has crashed and not able to restart.   I don't know why you might then see this second symptom, except that it sounds like something that could be a part of the explorer.exe recovery procedure, for example it reminds me of a procedure that automatically never came to be reviewed when W8 was first installed.

  In any case, even if you have a black screen, you can try to start the Task Manager and use it to start other things.   First of all, it would be useful to make a difference on the issue of whether you have a 'black' screen or a 'screen '.   For example if there is a fringe of light around the edges and it's just quite dark, but not as dark as it would be if turned off, screen "in white" could be a more accurate description.   Then you might be able to see things if they were added, which would be less likely, if she was black.   For example, you can move your mouse and see a pointer moves on the dark?   So I think this would be an example of a screen "empty."

  I have a single ESXi host 5.5 with a single Win 2012 std server prompt.   I have a second guest, but is not in production. Several months ago I "thought" I activated the auto start and stop for this particular customer.  Due to problems of food in the building today, I had the opportunity to stop the comments and the turning off of the host completely.   After the reboot of the host, my guest, never started (automatically). I connected to the host via vsphere client and started manually.  No problems.

  I decided to check the settings of automatic start/stop and it is set to manual.  So, either I never actually put it on automatic (and I just have problems of memory in my head (not unusual for me)) or I put it really, and something happened where he became disabled or brought back to the default value.

  That said, I went to properties of start-up automatic and as mentioned above, found it turned off, I was able to allow him, but when he returned to the screen (after clicking OK), it displays TWO of each of my virtual machines in the Autorun screen.  I went back to see if I could change/delete/remove the extras (I've found a way to do it), and when I came back out of the screen there are THREE virtual computers listed in the pane. See attachment.  Anyone know what is happening here and how can I remedy the situation?

  Exit the VSphere client and restart it solved the problem.  I presume a video type of bug, or maybe a bug with my version of the client.

• Transparent footer on slide show full-screen does render does not correctly

  I placed a white box to 80% opacitiy behind the text in my footer for the page footer displays before a slideshow full screen. It looks perfect in Design view, but when I preview the page transparency makes that in the top 20 pixels of the white box. The rest of the transparent white box isn't here, so the text is unreadable in front of the picture (see images).

  The foot is on the master page on a top-level slide show, which is on a content page.

  There are a variety of ways that this could be done, but in your case the easiest is to allow the screen to use only as much space as it needs and then place it at the Center.

  OK, this is finally starting to make sense. I am sure that it was a simple mistake of communication, but what they need is your design on a transparent background and JPEG doesn't support transparency. Vector files are more universal than PSD files so that generally simplifies the process. According to your design, it can vectorize quite well. If not, and you created in Photoshop and still have your layers intact, just to get the picture of a white t-shirt on the web and put in on the lower layer. Then smash anything that is not on your design t-shirt. This will give you an idea of how it will look, and you can make adjustments. When you are satisfied, remove or hide the white shirt layer and then export it to PDF. Who will preserve your transparency, with the appropriate settings. "High quality print" screening should be good. You could also export it in format TIFF or even a PNG, that any decent print store can deal easily with, as long as the resolution is exactly proportional to 100% or more. Does that make more sense?

I stuck a vector object of solid color in Illustrator directly in InDesign, so that I could change the color, etc. I applied a setting of transparency in InDesign (screen, 25%) and placed the vector in a framework of trimming. Somehow, these settings have disappeared, and yet the effect is still there. (When I check the transparency settings it says Normal, 100%). The printer could not be the vector to print at all, or a PDF/X-1 or native file. I'm at a total loss on it and my printer is not happy. I can recreate the effect and re - send a file, but no idea how or why this happened?

  Got your file this morning and I looked.

  You said in your message and your email, the blending mode was gone, but this isn't really the case. The mose mixture was applied to the graphic component group that was then stuck in the frame above the color bar. To see the blending mode, you need to get this re-selected group. Probably the best way to do this is to select the frame, and then right-click and choose selection > content.

  When you do this, you will see the blending mode and the transparency setting.
