  Juest received a T440p with a FHD screen and I am disappointed with the slight oozing around the edge of the screen. I have 2-3 purge patches which are visible on a black screen and it seems that the lid of the machine is nowhere near hard enough so I'm not that screen ever having a uniform backlight. Even just move the angle of the screen causes all kinds of distortion of backlight. What did do the cover of? Rubber?

  Someone else has experience with dreadful uniformity of backlight? Is this something that is all likely to be corrected by Lenovo, or who are, we're just going to have to put up with a decent screen with backlight garbage bleed?

  It supports 30 Hz, not 60 hz. You can get an eGPU using expresscard34 slot for 4k@60hz.

  I recently got a T440p. The laptop came with an adapter 135W.

  I would like to order an additional adapter.

  You can run your machine on the lighter for normal operations on an adapter 90 w, and the CPU must function normally in most of the situations. However, if the graphics are used as well, it will reduce the functionality / slow down the loading of your machine, and is certainly not an optimal situation for a powerful laptop such as you have.

  You need an adapter 135W operate at full capacity. Period. I had a T440p spruced up by myself and a W520 170W, and I would never cut corners when choosing an adapter for them.

• T440p - speakers do not work

  Hi all

  Just got a new T440p today and the speakers do not work, they produce only a "popping" or a pinging all the time. The works of 3.5 mm audio output.

  I tried the things:

  • Install the latest audio drivers from Realtek and Lenovo Web site
  • Change audio mode to 'classic' in the Realtek Control Panel
  • Using the default Windows audio drivers
  • Reinstalling Windows 8.1
  • Test speakers under Ubuntu 14.10
  • Reset the BIOS Setup
  • Update the BIOS to version 2.28
  • Downgrading to BIOS to version 2.26 (note: I have curerently have installed 2.28)

  I managed to get my speakers working at the end of the day, by restarting the Windows audio service, and the fix has persisted through a reboot.

  If someone else gets the same problem:

  1. Windows key + R to bring up the Run dialog box
  2. Type "services.msc" without the quotes
  3. Locate the audio service Windows in the list
  4. Right-click-> Reboot

• T440p BIOS - cannot use up/down arrow keys [broken?]

  I think that there is a problem with the current BIOS of T440p that I can not change the menu with the arrow/down buttons items. Up and Down keys work well in Windows 10. Difficulty please!

  Until recently, I was in Windows 7 with Lenovo Power Manager set of limited to 63% support threshold

  Now, Windows 8.1 has been installed from scratch (not an upgrade).

  The laptop with windows 8.1 always stop loading at 63%. But there is no available for windows 8.1 Lenovo Power Manager. I can't find any solution to disable this limitation...

• T440p - Ericsson N5321gw does not recognize the SIM card

  Hey, my new T440p with integrated WWAN Ericsson N5321gw does not recognize the SIM card. I am running Win7 64 Bit and in the Device Manager, I see the Ericsson unit without any error. Once I launche logins, I have the error message if there is no SIM card inserted and I have to insert the SIM card and try again. The SIM card is inserted as indicated next to the slot (although I tried in other ways, too). I tried two different SIM cards just to be sure, two SIM cards work in my phone. Any idea?   I bought the new T440p (20AN006NUS). Everywhere was written that it comes with preinstalled Windows 7 pro and also includes the Windows 8 pro license.

  If I understand the license key for Windows 8 is embeeded in the BIOS. But I don't have installation media for Windows 8 included in the box with laptop. How upgrading to Windows 8 should look like?

  Finally I got MSDN subscription. Download Windows 8 Pro ISO file from here and installed it. Activation was not necessary, asked was't license key (probably key to the BIOS was used). After that I have updated to Win 8.1 Pro with no problems.

  So upgrading to Windows 8 Pro it is necessary to have the right Windows installation and no need to license key source if it is embeeded in laptop you.

  You can upgrade the processor on the T440p separately the planar (unlike the ThinkPad T440s and T440), it is not soldered to the motherboard.

• T440p - option IPS?

  I'm thinking to buy the T440p, but when I set up the system I want, there is no option of IPS display. However, in the Tech Specs section on the store's site, she lists the following option:

  About the T440p, there are two models of FHD Panel for her:
  -LGD LGD 14.0 "FHD AG LP140WF1-SPK1
  -AUO 14.0 "FHD AG AUO B140HAN01.2

  The 1st group is IPS, the 2nd is AHVA (that's "IPS as" AUO technology). There is a giant topic on LGD vs AUO comparison of the panels in the forum.

  The problem is therefore, to determine the exact model of Panel installed in the laptop for sure. If you know the serial number of the laptop is not a problem to get the installed Panel model. Another source is MTM, but cell phone shouldn't be a model CTO.

  I found a 'strange' way of trying to solve my problem: I have read in this forum about someone else whom the battery was not charged as it should, and the notice was "try to degrade your power managememnt driver and power manager.

  So I thought ' why not? ' and the last 36 hours, I installed Power Management Driver 1.67.03 and Power Manager 6.67 (with windows 10 Pro in a T440p).

  Until now, looks like it works well. After many restarts, my battery is at 85% and fails to demand, as he has done with PM8. I'll wait a few more days and let the community know, in case where someone else facing the same problem.
