TSST corp DVD won't read or write

I have a desktop Dell VISTA computer.  He's got a TSST corp DVD +-RW ts-H653B ATA Device.   When I got the computer from Dell (April 2008), the DVD worked fine.   Now it is not recognized by Device Manager - it is for me a "Code 10" - that it does not start.   I tried everything.  My machine is a Dell VISTA home Premeium

Hello

Description of errors related to the 10 Code that generates the Device Manager in Windows on computers
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/943104/

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

Hope these helps.

    do it right.

Try to remove the GEARAspiWDM entry.

To remove the GEARAspiWDM entry double-click UpperFilters and, under value data, delete GEARAspiWDM > OK

Create a system restore point beforehand and restart the computer after.

However, if you have an application that uses the GEARAspiWDM, like iTunes, just install the latest version of hardware drivers (4.021.1) and that no changes to the registry:

  • CD/DVD CAN'T READ OR WRITE?

Hello, me too I have the same problem. Mine is Matsusita DVD RAM on Toshibs L310. It is read or write. Someone can help me. Mr.Fix, he finds that he is ok, however said more attention needed support thro. Help, please.

Have you asked Toshiba? It is their material, they need to know. Cables come loose from time to time, this might be a cause, who knows? Alternatively, they could simply tell you to start by uninstalling the CD/DVD player/burner?...from the list, in Control Panel/Device Manager? The unit itself, just let the driver here.

To see if the operating system 'found' it and reinstall?

Consider the "age" of this unit, it becomes less reliable he will get. If this is the case, simply replace it with a new one.

Toshiba could tell you the same thing, keep that in mind.

  • Computer won't read or write CD's

My office will read and write DVD - but lately it does not recognize a CD disk.  When you insert a CD in the drive, the drive will be clicking on and light flashes for about 30 seconds, then it stops and there is no message.  Any advice?  I use this computer now for five years and never had a problem.

    Hi applebaum.

I've never seen this before DLL file, which could mean that it is malware.

I suggest to run a full system scan using your favorite malware scanning software.

If the reader is not reading/writing on CD but is DVD playback, it is likely that the drive is failing.

They have a laser for the CD functions and a laser for DVD functions.

Each laser can fail and the other format still works.

  • Your CD or DVD drive cannot read or write media

I did not burn any CD or DVD on my desktop in a few months. Now when I try, my program writing, Roxio Easy Media Creator 9.0, do note "no drive detected".  Cleary Device Manager shows the two CD/RW (I have two installed) present and activated without obvious problems.  I reinstalled Roxio nothing helps, uninstalled both drives and started and not reinstalled - no help. Fix - it for MS recognizes readers while noting that BOTH are not capable of writng and install a writing program - which is already installed.

  • My CD/DVD drive... TSST Corp DVD +-RW TS-H653G

I ran the "My Dell" support program to search for the latest drivers; the main reason I did it was because I couldn't get my camcorder DV from Sony recognized via the Firewire connection and I had problems with some devices not recognized by USB, things like my Smartphone, passport, walk, digital camera, to name just a few. My Dell support program showed an "Urgent" notification update the TSS reader, this is what I did; Since then, the reader above is no longer available and is without driver (Code 28)... which I can't find anywhere, for love nor money!

I tried to restore, I tried to "update driver" and I downloaded R306360 (which seems to be the only one I need!), all without success.

My PC is a Studio of 8100 running Win 7 64 bit. I have the system disks and utilities provided with the PC, but guess what... my CD player does not work... Aaaargh!
