TurboTax installation under Windows xp

I use the fusion of VM in windows xp only for Quicken. So now it's time to tax, and I'm really install TurboTax. This incredibly naïve questions sound, but I have reason to think that I have to install Windows, rather than on the side of MAC so that it can access the data in Quicken?

What I do is run Quicken molten under Windows 7 x 64. I save it save my data outside of Windows via a shared directory and Time Machine.  This year, when I bought a Turbo tax the only drive had Windows and Quickens top versions.  I loaded it on a windows PC and my Mac.  I thought it looked and was better on the Mac.  Go figure.  I store my Turbo tax files on a hard drive connected to my Airport Express and the two computers can access the file without any conversion once you import the data from previous years.  Specifically, I could and works on my back on the Mac and the PC depending on where I was and the program should pick up right where I left off regardless of the platform.  So in my opinion, do not load the TurboTax within our virtual but machine run native on Mac.

As an a record, I set time to exclude the backup of my VM directory.  Every so often, I copy the file to an external backup drive.  It works very well.

  • Installation of Windows 8 Pro

Have used the assistance (UA) upgrade for Windows 8 pro - bought the product through it--was not ready to upgrade the product at this moment that the AU asked to remove two applications because of the incompatibility. So I saved the product in the form of ISO file with the provided product key. The AU has been closed.

Later various learned for both of these applications will work with Windows 8 pro, just that these drivers will properly get added during the installation under Windows 8. After you have uninstalled both apps. I ran new AU - and he invites me to buy new Windows 8!

The ISO file is written on DVD - its bootable - is there a way for the AU to take the DVD source? She sucks to keep asking for option to purchase again.

What happens if I do an install from the DVD? He spend Win7 and keep the settings and programs?

Here you go-Windows 8 already purchased Upgrade with key Pro Assistant - works great!

  • Former installation problem program under Windows 7 64-bit

I installed the 64-bit Windows 7, but I need to run some old software, for which I have a CD. (Actually I think it is 16-bit. Well, I know it's a dinosaur, but this is my situation.) Naturally, setup.exe is also 16-bit (perhaps 32 bits, but I doubt it). There is a shortcut to setup.exe on my desk, by double-clicking on it, I get this message:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer's system information to see if you need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher.

He ran very well under Windows XP 32-bit, and I don't remember doing something special for 16 bit then; I know that much. (I'm sure I'd remember something special like that, if I had). Microsoft program compatibility issues resolution isn't going anywhere.

How do I enter a 32-bit emulator environment and double-click the shortcut (or setup.exe itself) from there?

    64 bit W7 run 16-bit programs.

32-bit W7 can run older 16-bit programs (a little) more

See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/32-bit-and-64-bit-windows#1TC=windows-7 and http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/how-can-i-run-16-bit-programs-in-windows-7-64-bit/22b921f5-0b71-4ba1-8567-2bb86a1b604e for additional information.

If you have an eligible version of W7, you may be able to get the program running in XPMode or install Virtual Box and if you run an old copy of XP or W7 32-bit (assuming it's free with a free license, etc.) in that.

Or maybe make a system dual-boot W732 (or XP) and W764.

If it is a DOS program rather than an old Windows program, it can run into something like DOSBOX

2 days ago, I did a clean installation of Windows 7 Professional x 64 on my laptop Packard Bell EasyNote TX86. Since then my laptop makes a beep every time I plug / unplug the power supply.

Before the fresh install, I was able to disable the cut-off function of the PC "Tab speakers properties-levels" speaker sound but now the PC speaker settings are no longer there (I tried disabling it in the BIOS but no option is also available). What can I do to turn off the beeps?

    I found the problem.

  • ISO image installation problems under Windows 8 Pro

Whenever I try to mount the ISO with the integrated installation of Windows 8 Pro it returns "could not mount file" 'Sorry there was a problem, the cut file' or 'the disk image file is corrupted.

In each case, whenever I drop an ISO that contains audio from SACD or other media, danslechamp of J River Media Center 'Play now', it shows every single track file picture disc and plays well. So he does, even when burned on a DVD + R, then, obviously, the ISOs are healthy and should the problem with Windows...

I'd be happy to hear from you on this subject.

The file must be renamed to .exe on the Microsoft site.  This is an executable, not an ISO standard

(Visio 2013 64 bit in English)

OK guys, I FOUND THE SOLUTION by chance.

Here's how to solve the problem (at least it worked immediately when I did it, then try it!)

Right click on the image in question file (.) IMG. ISO, etc...) and choose a default program to open with. WIndows MUST ABSOLUTELY BE the DEFAULT program to open the image files. There is a bug not declared on the Explorer of Windows 8 is not not the default value, which is not to open an image file valid, not corrupted.  YOU MUST set the default Windows Explorer to mount as a virtual DVD drive image files in WIndows 8.

That's all and I hope it works for you. Thank you! and if it works, please mark this as useful to show your appreciation, because there is no button of congratulations or thanks. : D

Here what I was doing, eject the SD card (you don't have to get out of the computer).  Try to mount again.  I did it and it worked perfectly.

  • Installation service Windows Vista stop working

I'm running a Dell XPS ONE 2010 with Vista Home Premium SP2 2009.  About two years ago, I noticed that Windows Installer has stop working and I could not install Microsoft programs or uninstall most programs, was able to load 3rd programs like Turbotax, but could not uninstall them.  I bought a Microsoft Expression Web software and had to pay MS $100 to load.  MS uninstalled Office 2007, cleaned Windows, install Expression Web and reinstalled Office 2007.  When Ms. Load Expression Web, they advised me to use Revo Uninstaller which may be required to work. because the normal MS uninstaller does not work I can not install any MS programs like the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor or other software from Ms.  When installed MS Expression Web, they said that they could not fix the failure of the installer without a custom reinstall of Vista, I chose not to.  Strangely, the MS Windows updates work fine.

In the last three months, I have read and tried all of the suggestions of MS to fix this problem without success.  The installation failure message is "the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.  This can occur if Windows Installer is not correctly installed... »

Now I want to install new software to create a web site, but it will not be installed.  I bought the Windows 7 Upgrade Home Premium package but it fails with the message of my computer is not compatible with Windows 7.  I suspect that the upgrade fails because the installation Service fails.
I don't want to do a custom installation of Windows 7 because of the work required to reinstall all my software.
Any recommendations for restoring the installation Service will be appreciated, if this isn't the right forum for this problem, please let me know.

Type (or copy the lines below and a blank line under and right click in the command prompt window and select Paste). This will start the dependent services in the correct order. • Installation of Windows 7 64 bit on Envy M6-1205dx - I'm screwed for now...

I just want to M6-1205dx... First thing I did was bust on my CD of Windows 7 64-bit... I enabled legacy mode so that it can boot from CD... I deleted all but the recovery partition (thinking it would allow me to go to Windows 8 I if desired)... I install W7, and then he got all the way to the end of the installation and gave error "" windows cannot configure at installed on this hardware "and won't be finished...»

Then, I discovered that it is not a recovery (must have need of one of the other partitions I deleted) and given that manufacturers no longer include media (all the cents.35 it cost them) I'm totally screwed...

I really wish I had loaded W7, but if that's impossible, I would put 8 on!

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

Today, I had a Client who wanted to Downgrade to Windows 7 Windows 8 on a laptop HP Envy M6.  After that reading many articles about everyones unsuccessful attempts to install Windows 7 on this laptop, I had to respond.

    First Things First

    1. go into the BIOS and enable the Legacy Mode.

    2. under the Legacy boot order - have the CD - RW / DVD - RW DRIVE Boot First.

    3. restart the computer

    4. press the "ESC" button when she said HP or when it says press ESC for Boot Options

    5. Select "F9" for "Boot Device Options '.

NOTE: DO NOT SELECT THE ' INTERNAL CD/DVD ROM DRIVE (UEFI) - even knowing that you have your Windows 7 DVD in the drive

6 SELECT ' INTERNAL CD/DVD-ROM DRIVE (this is the Option to boot Legacy & is the difference between failure and success.

    7. install Windows 7 normally

PLEASE NOTE: DELETE ALL PARTITIONS ON THE DRIVE C, INCLUDING THE RECOVERY.  IF YOU DO DELETE A RECOVERY, THIS PROCESS WILL NOT WORK.

    8. upon completion of the installation of Windows 7.  Open the Device Manager.  You will notice that there are several devices that the drivers are not installed.  PCI device / Sm Bus controller / network card / adapter Ethernet / USB controller / USB Controller.

9 go to the following Web page of HP and install Audio / LAN / WIFI / CARD READER / GRAPHICS for Windows 7 64 bit, providing that you have installed a 64-bit Windows Version.

Don't forget not under "Input Devices" to download the card - reader This will install the driver for the PCI device in Device Manager.

In Device Manager - you'll end up with SM Bus controller and 2 USB controllers to install.

10 navigate to this Wepage Lenovo for the Bus SM AMD controller driver.  Download the file (DO NOT RUN) and install as usual.  Accept the license agreement.  After completing the driver installation, the device shows as installed SM Bus controller Manager (possibly after a reboot).

    http://support.Lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?docid=DS019868

    11. Finally, you need to install the drivers for USB 3.0 to your card controller mother AMD.  Go to the following Web site to download these drivers.

    http://support.Lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?docid=DS030088

    NOTE: RUN-DOWNLOAD & INSTALL normally

    12. open the device Again Manager - check the peripheral No. are yellow (point yellow question mark)

    13. restart the PC after installing all the drivers
