Turning off the printer

How I disable certain options to print to a printer (such as color printing) for a specific user?

Hello Goethe,

Thank you for your message.  It would be a feature that will be included with the printer and driver.  It would be the best avenue to get this information from the manufacturer of the printer.
See you soon

  • All lights on screen Flash - Message - Please turn off the printer and turn it back on

I'm fighting a problem for a few weeks now with all the lights on the display starts flashing and the message please turn off the printer and turn it back on.   HP sent me a new printer that does the same thing.  The printer is an Officejet Pro 8600.  My computer is Windows 7.  I use a Belkin 750 db wireless router.  I talked to the service the customer several times with no results.  Did a hard reset of the printer, change the SSID of the router, because I think that one of my neighbors has the same router.  The thing most effective I did was change the channel to 6 which will operate for several hours until the display starts to Flash again.  Channels 1 & 11 starts blinking after a few minutes.  I know there are other people who have had the same problem.  I'm about to throw the thing in the trash.  My last printer brand X was set up the same way with no problems.  On the network, there are 2 iPads, smart TV, and an iPhone.  Need help please!

  • Spoolsv.exe has 99% of the cpu when I turned off the printer after printing.

    Original title: spoolsv.

I recently installed a new printer Lexmark Pro715.  Everything works fine, no problems with printing, but as soon as I put off the printer after printing, spoolsv.exe takes 99% CPU.  If I leave the printer in mode 'sleep', the problem is, but I do not often print, I prefer to turn off completely.  There is nothing in the print queue, everything else seems normal.  I can use the Task Manager to stop it, but this isn't a good solution in the long term.  I run MS Update and uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, with no effect.  It's driving me crazy.  I have Windows XP Home Edition SP3.

From what I've read on the Internet about the print spooler using 99 to 100%, Norton is also sometimes involved as a contributing factor to a runaway print spooler for some people (where my request).

IIRC, people would set their Norton to start a scan and when it was made, the print spooler has run amok at 100%:

"Because I have Norton Antivirus, do a system scan every Friday night that I happened to see that the value SPOOLSV. EXE is using almost 100% of the CPU of the morning Saturday. It's the only time that it happens, so I simply stop the process in the SERVICES window, and life is good. I don't know why Norton Antivirus it triggers during the scanning process that I couldn't find anything on the Symantec relating to this site. »

If the problem resurfaces surface, using abduction special tools on their website, you can uninstall your Norton and view the appearance of things without him - you can always reinstall again once, right?

I disagree with Norton in general for its CPU and memory hogging and known interference with other XP processes (such as the restoration of the system), so I'd keep which in mind if the problem returns.

A few years ago, I used to like Norton correct, but will never go back or recommend it.  Microsoft Security Essentials with it's lower overhead and footprint and some regular on the analyses at the request of the MBAM and SAS should hold your own system based on your surfing habits.  Your system will reward you with an improvement in the overall performance of the system as well.

I can tell you that no single AV tool seems to know everyting so it is safe to use several respectable scanning tools.  Norton certainly doesn't know everything.

  • LaserJet Enterprise M506: How to turn off the printing of comments

During the summer, we had a number of works sent to our printer from somewhere outside the network which was Nazi propaganda. Work with our IT Department printers on our network have been changed from publicly in the face of a private network. Yesterday, we had a job came across this print a few characters on each sheet, until the ferry was empty. When I go in EWS and look at the log of the tasks, all it shows is printed and the time for the name of the work and the user as guest.  All other users are identified by their workstation name and their username.

Is there a way to disable the guest user account without going through all those who have to use the printer first have to authenticate?

    Edited for spelling

I don't know if this is possible.  What happened is a person on the network loaded a print driver and used your ip address, by mistake, or whether and his work has been sent to your printer with the incorrect coding resulting in all pages. One thing if you can work with your service COMPUTER is loading your printer by using the host name (the host hame can be changed to what you want it to be) rather than ip address. This way your printer can have any just like ip address any computer when it connects to the network and because this will change most of the time to turn the printer off and then back to this topic in most of the cases will prevent what is happening now.

Have you tried a different usb cable? It could be that the usb cable is grounded on which could be a short circuit in the usb cable, or the printer port. Although it is also possible that this is the USB controller on the motherboard of your computer to try another cable is fixed not try with another computer if possible. • E 7520 HP All - In - One Printer: turn off the power to the wireless printer

I have not printed for a few days I have not noticed if my Wi - Fi connection worked.

I tried to print wireless today and got the error message that the printer was not connected to the internet.  I tried to go wrong, but it did not help.  I checked the connection to the wireless router and put the password in.  It has not yet recognized it.  I tried to disable printing for my smart phone (I think it is called), but the screen froze on the circle showing the progress.

I tried to turn off the printer with the power button, but that no longer works.

The Wi - Fi light just keeps blinking.

How can I disable the printer may reset?  Or can you help get my printer to recognize my wireless again?

    Thank you.

    Hi Rhonda, there.

I would suggest to unplug the power cord from the printer without turning it off with the switch, it will do a reset without getting rid of all the parameters. You simply leave unplugged for about 1-2 minutes to clear out any power.

I recommend then reconnect, and doing as much as you can from the guide below:

Printer keeps no connection Wi - Fi

Good luck and let me know how it goes

  • Cannot turn off the issue of jam and paper cartridge (both at the same time)

I have a HP Officejet 8600, running on a wireless home network.  The printer will not work.  We get two messages. 1. Introduction to jam, and I'm going through all the steps to clear paper, including the search for pieces of paper, as well as any leaves.  I found no paper, whole or in part anywhere in the printer.  2. at this point, I get a message that I have a problem with a printer (of ink, installed correctly, etc.) cartridge.  Simply replace us all cartridges, so I know that we are not out of ink.  However, when I opened the door to the area of printer cartridge, the cartridge does not move where I can check it out.  There's just right.  So I'm "stuck".  I don't know how to get the cartridge door to roll over so I can check!  I turned off the computer several times and tried to reset things, but nothing seems to work.  Any suggestions?

Followed - I turned off the printer.  Then opened the cartridge and reaches into the printer access door.  Without moving the cartridge door, I pressed each cartridge to make sure it was placed correctly.  Then, shut the door and back running the printer.  The printer seems to start correctly.  I then opened the door, the door-cartridge moved where I could access them normally.  I double checked that each cartridge is installed and closed the door.

At this point, everything seems to work properly.

Is it possible to turn off the ringer on an HP Officejet 6968?

    Thank you

    Hello @Kathieh3,

The steps I have mentioned must be done on the printer screen, not on the computer.

On the printer screen, press 'Fax'-'settings'-'fax advanced settings'. Once you scroll through the menu options, you will find the "ringing" or "ring volume" option. Select, then reduce the volume.

Let me know if that helps!

After the update to el Capitan my iMac will not be asleep. I put it to sleep and turn off the mouse and keyboard that goes with it, and 5-10 minutes later, he wakes up on his own. Now, I have to stop it after use and each time only. The Major pain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please test after taking each of the steps that you have already tried:

    Step 1

Take all of the measures suggested in this support article, including those under the title "If the previous steps do not work." It is the starting point for a new effort to solve the problem.

Note that, as stated in the article, the computer will not sleep, if some sharing services are enabled. In the menu bar, select

     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Sharing

    Disable all sharing services.

    Step 2

If sharing music iTunes home sharing is enabled, disable it or quit iTunes. Do the same with third-party applications that have a similar feature.

    Step 3

    Select

 ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Accessibility ▹ Speakable Items: Off

    Step 4

    Select

     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ ▹ Advanced Bluetooth...

and uncheck the two boxes marked

Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at startup if...

    Step 5

    Reset the printing system.

    Step 6

    Back up all data.

Triple-click on the line below on this page to select, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination:

    /var/vm

    In the Finder, select

Go ▹ go to the folder...

from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens by pressing command + V. You won't see what you pasted a newline being included. Press return.

A folder named 'vm' should open. Inside, there may be a file named 'drag '. Move this file and only this one in the trash, but do not yet empty. You will be asked for your password. Close the folder window.

Restart the computer and empty the trash.
