  Chromecast problem:
  Material: OS Android Lollipop 5.1.1 on a Sony Xperia Z2, 10 Windows on a laptop Lenovo S440 and Chromecast 1.

  My 4th gen of newly updated apple tv cannot keep a stable wifi connection while other devices can and does not appear on itunes when it is connected to the mac via the usb - c cable. AirPlay video mirroring also often freezes.

  I use Itunes on Windows 8.1 12.1.3.6 64bits, Airplay in Itunes worked week last for my Phillips Airplay speakers and it seems this week the Airplay icon has now disappeared. I did some research and tried all the help guides that suggest Apple as well as disabling IPv6 without result. I can use Airplay on my Iphone 4s, but Itunes will not recognize. I tried to install Itunes 10 and current does not work either. After you have reinstalled Itunes 12 the problem persists.

  Anyone have any suggestions because I'm tempted to just go back to Android and maybe a bluetooth speaker instead.

  FIXED!

  I just install Airfoil for Windows as a work around to this problem, and low and behold, after the installation, I opened itunes and it was again the Airplay icon.

  It is now my 4th laptop computer loaded with microsoft windows software, and again, I will have the same problem that I always... WINDOWS IS TOTALLY UNABLE TO DOWNLOAD OR INSTALL THEIR OWN UPDATES. WHEN SOMEONE WILL LISTEN AND GET THIS PROBLEM SORTED OUT.

  my last laptop (this one I'm on now) is only a couple of weeks and its driving me crazy. my previous laptop all done the same thing until my first one was presented to my very quick kitchen wall. they were all running vista and I swore never again, but guess what I did again twice. because I'm not a computer scientist that he na not occure me that windows 7 was infact vista with another layer, if I had known that I would rather have bought a box of frogs.

  If you have a weak Wi - Fi signal or interference from a device nearby, like a microwave or baby monitor, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure that you use the recommended settings of your Wi-Fi router.
  2. Move or disable other devices that may cause interference.
  3. If possible, connect your Apple TV directly to your router with an Ethernet cable instead of using Wi - Fi.
