What is this type of support is called.  someone explain it to me.

H & M

Was the 800 number dialed Support Microsoft 1 800 643 - 7676?

Or Microsoft Store supports 1-877-696-7786?

It could be consumer Support for Windows or a Microsoft Application if the first number.

It could be the Signature Support for a PC bought a Microsoft store or the Microsoft Store online if you called the second number

  • Everyone has been contacted by Microsoft support? I got a call from people today who say they were in New Jersey...

I was contacted by phone by a person who identified themselves as being a Microsoft technician this afternoon.  After asking how much of my family's computers, they told me that our system had been compromised and that they would help us fix.  After walking me through obtaining of Event Viewer, they transferred me to another person who was the senior technician (or so they said).  I asked where they were from my number identified the call came from a number of British Colombia (where I live) and the installation was based in New Jersey.  Unfortunately, the infection from the system has been resolved, as the higher tech hung up before that.
FYI, there are two main offices in our House, one running XP and the other Vista.  We have also 4 laptops, XP, (1) Vista (1) and Windows 7 (2).
Sorry for the length of both the threshold question and paragraphs here, but this is my first question.  Thank you for your help in advance.

    Hello

They give you direct access to your computer or install
any software of them? If yes remove internet access to the machine
NOW. Take the steps below and you may have to contact Bank
credit cards, credit, companies offices, suppliers, and e-mail contacts
and others where sensitive information could be compromised. You
will need to carefully check for malware, so that you do not transfer
with backups, and then save the data in a redundant way and format and
Reinstall Windows. Check with the system manufacturer and other professionals
of course you have everything you need to complete this procedure.

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy

its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one

  • Question for Microsoft Support; I have a huge amount of music files .m4a that I can not play on Windows Media Player?

    Question for Microsoft Support;
I have a LARGE amount of files music .m4a in a storage drive stand alone that I downloaded from an old Apple computer have more possession of. I can't understand how to enter these data into my old Emachines computer Windows Vista run the Media Player program. I tried to copy a few files m4a manually in the file Media Player Music folder, but they do not play. I'm not really all that computer savvy and know only the basics, I need to use my computer really. Can you give me some step by step instructions how to get these converted files or whatever it is I need to do to get them to play and to integrate properly into my library if it is possible? If this isn't the case, I'll have to go out and buy a new Apple computer for my 60 GB music collection. In the past, that I've never had no real problem shooting files to leave this computer based Vista and convert these files to my old computers Apple Itunes Player. So what's the problem with your system of guys that done anyway this such a pain in the butt? I would really like to understand what exactly is happening with this issue? It's very frustrating for me. I'm a finish Carpenter not a computer programmer. Such things should not be so difficult for someone like me to understand. All I intend to buy a really nice computer, probably in the summer and was considering a Microsoft based computer. But if this kind of problem will be spread with Microsoft products, so maybe I should reconsider. help you can offer to alleviate this problem will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you
    Signed;
    Tim M. from Detroit.

According to research on the Internet, Windows Media Player, atleast this is version 11 (included in Windows Vista and available for Windows XP SP2 +) cannot play Apple loseless type .m4a audio files without having to install any codecs.

If you want to use Windows Media Player, you can follow the instructions mentioned here to install the necessary codecs and plugins.

(In the related instructions above, in the first step talks about codecs - your .m4a files are files Apple loseless then follow the party referred to in the first stage about Apple loseless .m4a)

Personally, I prefer using alternatives to Windows Media Player rather than installing codec packs.

If you don't want to install codecs, download no matter what media player from "programs that open. M4A files"- Windows category list on this page.

If you use a spare player - VLC Media Player is my choice.

  • Microsoft support "Sign In" on the Canadian Web site problems

    Hi, I'm of the Canada.

I tried to sign in Support of Microsoft, specifically at this address:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/?ln=en-CA

When I'm in 'http://support.microsoft.com/?ln=en-ca' in the upper right corner of the screen, it is said: 'change of Canada. " Which I guess means that I am on the Canadian Web site, since I live in the Canada.

I click on Contact a technician of technical support by email, online or by phone

then I click on Windows Vista Home Premium 64 - bit Edition

Then I get this message "type the product identification number."

I found the identification number of the product in the menu 'Start', click 'Control panel' and click on 'system '. I also noticed that it contains some basic information about my computer. As it is Windows "Windows Vista Home Premium" edition. "Service Pack 1". "System type: 64-bit operating system. And my "Product ID: ' 12345-XXX-1234567-12345.

I enter my code of 23 characters in the field, I make sure that letters are uppercase and click on the continue"" button.

That the of when I always get this message "there was a problem with the product ID. Please re - enter the ID of the product in the correct format. You can also get support by paying with a credit card. »

I tried to enter my "product identification number" to the address of the US site as follows: "https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?&c1=509&gprid=11920&&st=1&wfxredirect=1" I guess that's the American site because it says in the upper right of the screen: "United States (English). I get the same message: "there was a problem with the product ID. Please re - enter the ID of the product in the correct format. You can also get support by paying with a credit card. »

I wonder if I need to cookies, or something on my computer to enter the Web of Support Microsoft Canada (English) site? http://support.Microsoft.com/?ln=en-CA

Use the Microsoft Safety Scanner in full scan mode and remove all threats that is not detected by it and see if the problem persists.

  • Cf11 - Type is not supported by this SQL driver based ORM Update

We test on one of our web applications in CF11.

We have a feature of updated base of entity ORM that retrieves an object individually called several setters and then registers the entity inside a transaction in cfscript. We are working with Microsoft SQL Standard 2012 edition. It worked under CF9 and CF10.

Under CF11, we get the following error:

Error: An exception occurred when the validation of the transaction. The main cause of this exception is: coldfusion.orm.hibernate.HibernateSessionException: type [macromedia] [SQLServer JDBC Driver] specified SQL is not supported by this driver...

The line of code is throwing the error, it's what is the last line in the transaction {} block.

Follows the SQL running. This is a great Basic. What happens here?

The problem is that CF11 uses a version of hibernation in the Boolean fields that contain a null values are tapped in MS SQL. It is in the release notes and Adobe has shown no indication that they plan to update Hibernate in CF11 to fix. I added a vote for the bug:

Bug #3518916 - the attempt to insert Null into primitive Boolean type throws error for SQLServer

The solution is to replace the ormtype = "boolean" with ormtype = "numeric_boolean". I have not tried that we had held off the coast in the hope they would patch to a later version of Hibernate, but no luck so far.

  • Microsoft Support pages are not viewable in Firefox (I tried to disable the modules and plugins)

When trying to view a Microsoft Support article, I see the following (attached). It lacks all the text. This seemed to be correlated with the installation of 35 Firefox or Google Chrome 40.
It does not correctly in IE 11 either.

I tried to disable modules and Flash enabled. I find it very strange. I use a strong security product, have the latest version of Flash Player (although I turned off after that I tried to reproduce the problem because there is currently a 0-day).

Here is an example. (I tried several examples - including those of the previous months to see if it was a mistake to content at their end).

I thought it was a HTML problem, but I can watch YouTube with Flash Player disabled in Firefox.

Does anyone else have this problem?

    Any help is appreciated!

Firefox version is 33.0.3. The video is mp4 format.

    Hi all

I thank and appreciate all your suggestions.
I solved the problem I posted.
In fact, this error does not appear on my firefox browser, shows on firefox to the customer only.
To resolve this problem, I also downloaded type of format .webm video to support the firefox browser that cannot read the .mp4 format.
Bravo guys! Sorry for the late reply.

  • Firefox will always be a way course surf the web using a Windows XP computer after that leaves Microsoft support Windows XP?

Windows XP is still my favorite operating system, but Microsoft will give up support in the coming days. If I understand correctly, shortly after which using Windows Internet Explorer to surf the web on a computer running Windows XP (or can) make the computer vulnerable to piracy. It will be the same for the use of Mozilla Firefox on a computer that is running Windows XP?
I think I saw an ad for Google Chrome with that they would continue to support the browser for use on a Windows XP computer. I think that Google said they would keep releasing patches to secure the Chrome. Can anyone confirm that and more importantly, is Mozilla Firefox secure? Also, should I uninstall Internet Explorer on my Windows XP computer when leaving Microsoft support?

Note - I am posting this with a newer computer that works under Windows 7 64-bit.

Firefox will continue to work with Windows XP. At best, in the near future, I could see the required configuration to encountered to Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (obligation is SP2 for now). Security in Firefox patches are the same, regardless of the version of Windows you are using.

Keep in mind that without security updates, the operating system itself will be precarious. What browser and software security that you use will not change.

Internet Explorer is a component of the system, and you should not attempt to remove it in Windows Vista and lower. From Windows 7, there's a way of kind of uninstall from the control panel.

  • I can't use the Microsoft support page. Why?

I have a problem connecting to MSN Messenger and my Windows Live Mail says he has encountered a problem and needs to close. I think it is perhaps something to do with my recent download of QQ International. My friend can connect to their account using my email software and can access my account on her computer. My details are pre-set and I can't change their (or can I?).

Also, I can't support because the system just keeps searching for similar issues on the microsoft support page.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    Stephen Hoare-Vance.

What "support page" which can be? The right place for problems with registration for WLMessenger is the Windows Live Solution Center. When you post your question there, give as much detail as you can - program version, operating system and the full text of the error message.

If you suspect that QQ International intervenes, have you tried to uninstall again to see if you can connect to WLMessenger after a reboot?

(It's almost three years since MSN Messenger has retired).

There is some information about technet, for example:

Depending on where you're going with this, you will find probably more people
able to discuss in the technet promedia and networking forums.

  • Microsoft support calling my home number?

I received a phone call from (818)843-9427. The person claimed it was microsoft support and that my system was out of errors and there need to access my computer to solve the problem. I has not complied with his request, and he noted that my computer would become unusable in the future. This call is legitimate?

It's a scam.  I'm glad you don't fall for it.

Hi I wonder if anyone else had this happen... made phone calls for me on my landline by the microsoft support team as he really worried about who they are?

It's a scam.  Never provide any access to your PC to someone who calls you with some story about virus infections (etc.) is detected on your PC.  MS would never do that (plenty of examples in the MSE forum if you care to look).

More tips - social engineering is a term for the bad guys who try to convince you to do something that would allow them to infect your computer or gather confidential information (Bank online identifiers for example...)
You (and everyone!) need to be careful to not be fooled (and some of these guys are VERY GOOD at deceiving people.
Beware of strange emails and especially strange phone calls.  Don't forget that you can not trust Caller ID on your phone... it is very easy to spoof the name of your choice on caller ID.
