  We have a new UCS-Mini with a connected secondary frame, we have identical B200 M4s filled in each chassis, ESXi running.

  At a level of vCenter that all the vNIC reported for the blades in the main frame are displayed as the 10000Mbps, while all blades in the secondary frame say 20000Mbps by VNIC but as far as we can tell are all the same material and should all be at top speed.

  All blades are supplied via the same policies of UCS etc. so we do not know why the main chassis is not full speed, we expect.

  Jim. You have answered your query. NIC speed reflected on the operating system depends on the number of substantive connections in basket to the blade of the IOM.

  The blades of B200 M4 comes with firmware of the controller Office 7.0 and the UCS Mini comes with the latest code of 3.0 (2 c).  Once associated with a Service profile, the firmware controller board 7.0 activation fails.  The blade software 3.0 (2 c) comes with the 6.0 Board controller firmware.  I downloaded the firmware 2.2(5a) blade server package, so that the UCS to 'see' the firmware 7.0.  Then, I changed a bunch of firmware 3.0 (2 c) host to include firmware controller board for the M4 B200 but activation 7.0 still does not work after reboots.  Reacknowledging the blades does not change the result.  Any ideas?

  You did the right thing by adding the 2.2.5a firmware.

  Your Mac Mini does not love at first sight, cannot use a Thunderbolt display.  As you have discovered, the adapters will not help.

  I'm working on getting my SAN hung with UCS. Here's my setup.

  There are 2 switches of MDS. Each is connected to both SPS. Each HBA will be zoned into the port on each SP.

  Two MDS 9500 SAN cheated and cables are cross connected at the END, so that we redendency.

  NPIV is enabled on MDS switch. I get an error that says intailizing and when I look at the SAN guys for an indeterminate period of speed says that they are 8.00Gbps.

  Do not know what is the problem of port do not come in green. Can someone help me please.

  What kind of interconnect fabric do you use?  Uplinks of CF are connected to the expansion on the fi module?

  Can you ssh in the interconnection of fabric and run nxos connect and then show int for this interface?  And do the same thing on the side of mds.

  You are in the process or registration UCS Central? This anomaly looks quite old (2011). It may be the result of a shared secret phrase has changed.

  If you don't use a UCS Central, you can unsubscribe safely it Admin tab is UCSM to eliminate the fault.

• UCS kvm - connection failed

  I encountered problem with kvm.

  When I try to run the kvm console, I get "connection failed", but I managed to connect only once in 10 times.

  I have "Management Pool of IP" and I can see the ip address assigned to my blade server.

  Is that someone has the same problem?

  To fix this problem with CICM (KVM) access, make sure that the Pool(ext-mgmt) IP management is part of the same VLAN as the FIC IP subnet. CICM access is provided on the MGMT 0 and interface 1 on the FIC and not 10GB uplinks.

• HP w2207h monitor: HP monitor crashes if connected to the Mac Mini

  My w2207h monitor works fine connected to 2 computers. A Dell laptop connected with a cable HDMI and a Fujitsu PC connected with VGA cable. I spend between the 2 with the menu key of monitors and the function 'change the video input '. However, I just buy a Mac Mini and connected via HDMI but now, pass the VGA to HDMI causes the monitor to crash/power down. Even the light around the power button goes off and nothing works. To relight the monior screen, the only way is to disconnect the cable from power for a few minutes. The monitor works with an another old laptop connected via HDMI as doeas the Mac Mini connected to an old television set. I thought HDMI HDMI was, but this monior dislikes my Mac. Any ideas?

  Thanks for the information Dunidar. A long session, running tests with Apple confirmed that this monitor does not work with Mac Mini. The only solution was to buy a new monitor :-(

• End of 2012 the Ethernet Mini Mac does not connect

  Everything worked very well upward until a week ago.  I did all these recent software updates to cause problems.

  I'm running OS X 10.11.3.  I use wired ethernet.  My ethernet does not work.  Preferences network indicates that the cable is disconnected.  It is not the case.  I tried to use another cable and same results.  I have a managed switch and it still says that when the Mini is on that the port is turned on and has 1000 full duplex connection.  When I power down the port turns off indicating it is nothing plugged in, when I turn on it powered back upward.  Therefore, it is not as if the ethernet port has failed.

  I tried to renew the DHCP lease in network, deactivation and reactivation of the ethernet service preferences and still no luck.  Keeps coming up as ethernet is not connected.  I opened terminal and ran ifconfig and receive nothing.  I am unable to ping to any external site.  I am also unable to connect to my modem.

  Wireless works fine.  I have a second, identical Mac Mini connected to the same hardware via ethernet, which works very well, so it doesn't seem to be any hardware related issues.  I use all the gear from ubiquiti networks, 24-port POE switch and usg 4 router pro, all new age of 2 months.  This must be a Mac issue and has nothing to do with my equipment.  2014 mac Book Pro works fine as well as 2 iPad Pros and 2 iPhones though wireless connections for them.

  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Since we have upgraded to iOS 9.2 a month ago, we had trouble getting the restore process of working part.   The mini connects to iTunes and can surf the web without any problem, we do not have any anti-virus installed on it, and we tried to connect via our LAN and WiFi.   Morning all,

  Hoping someone can help, I have a strange situation that occurs with my new installation of UCS.

  The configuration is:

  UCS chassis connected to a pair of interconnections of tissue 6248UP, using 2208XP/o Modules.

  I connect this to a stack of distribution 3750, I configured 2 etherchannels on the pile of 3750 and in the UCS Manager, these are configured to pass all the VLANS relevant, I have three blades (B200M3), installed in the chassis with VMWare ESXI 5 installed.

  Once they have all been implemented, they can communicate both feel to and from the network without problem, both vmware networks and local network.

  2 a night or more (without modification) blades (slots 2 and 3) stop communicating on the network. I can get them working again by making a few changes to network settings and everything will be ok until the next day.

  I am at a loss as to what may be causing this.

  That should solve your problem.  UCS will not pass unknown unicast, so if a MAC of UCS blade/VM address aging of your 3750, the outside world will be not able to reach it.  Under production operation normal/servers are normally talkative enough to avoid depleting and aging timers you only will see probably this at this time during the installation when there is little or no send/receive VMs.  Another option is to increase the timers of aging on the 3750.
