Unable to connect to the remote computer

Hello

I work in an organization. I set up VPN in my computer and when I try to access a remote server, it comes with the following error:

Remote Desktop cannot connect to the remote computer to one of the following reasons:

1. remote access to the server is not enabled

2. the remote computer is disabled

3. the remote computer is not available on the network

Make sure that the remote computer is on and connected to the network, and remote access is enabled.

I connected several times using my computer. I had no problem. But suddenly am facing it.

I also tried another computer and I was able to connect without any problems.

When connected to the VPN, am able to ping the server name and IP. Am also able to connect to shared folders (\\COMPUTERNAME). But I am not able to connect to the desktop remotely using DRC (mstsc).

Help, please!

Thank you.

Vignesh.

    Hi all

Need help please, I'm stumped.  I am trying to connect to a database that is located in my work from home.

I'm running into the following question (see the command and the error below):

I have another terminal opens to a server at work and I can connect to the DB with sqlplus very well.  I checked the record for this database on the tnsnames.ora file is the same as it is at work.

In conclusion, I can connect to the database to work, but I can't go home, even if I am using the same connection information and verify that port 1521 is available on this database from home server.  So why can't a DB connection?

    Any ideas?

    ERROR:

It simply means "Unknown host name." In other words, the hostname used for the connection could not be resolved to an IP address.

I checked that I can establish a TCP connection to the DB server on the specified port, using the same information in the file TNSnames.ora (see below):

You check hostname orarac9-analysis only. You do not check that the hostname provided by the Oracle SCAN earpiece can be resolved by your platform.

That you connect to a listener to SCAN, it will do its magic (balancing/alternate/whatever) and return, the customer asked the name a redirect to your client driver - he tell where to find the service.

If the driver of your client gets a host name and port in return. He then tries to connect to that to establish your Oracle client-server session. If the RAC has been implemented with FCAC's typical host names, your customer will get names like vip1-orarac9 and orarac9-vip2 returned. Probably as FULL domain name too.

This means that your platform must be able to resolve these host names. This isn't. Thus the error.

In the file/etc/hosts of your platform, define the list of hostnames (hostnames SCAN, Public and VIP) CARS.

  • Windows Media Center - not the initial download put in place data for guide "unable to connect to the remote server.

    Hello

Looking for help on this one...

I have a new install of windows 7 pro running, and I was not able to get the guide to download Windows Media Center.   I am up-to-date with all the updates and SP1 version running.   My video card drivers are also updated.

I use HDHOMERUN PRIME equipment with cablecard and who receives a TV signal very well and I am able to view it in WMC.    I use Verizon FIOS and my zip code is 07452.    Before this computer, I ran the cablecard even with a ceton infinitv and had no problem Guide at all.

It's just that I can't download the guide data.  Its just totally blank.   I receive the channels and view them, but there is NO data.      Whenever I run the TV setup the same question comes up.  Cannot download the initial configuration data due to the error of previous download.   As far as I know, there is NO error message when Windows installed... actually... I reinstalled windows completely and this has not solved the problem.    I tried to manually download the guide which did not help.   It... nothing happened when I turned 'on' and 'off' WMC in Control Panel to reinstall.  I even tried explore the ehome folder and remove the file db... but nothing is helping.

I can't find a file mcupdate.exe light on my system - don't know if this is relevant.   When I looked in the event viewer here are some of the error messages that I see.

Impossible to extract the EpgLineups (error: unable to connect to the remote server)
Impossible to extract the MCEClientUX (error: unable to connect to the remote server)

  • PC migration - converter could not connect to the remote computer. A general error occurred: unknown internal error

    Hello

I am brand new to fusion m v so forgive me if I miss useful information of the first post time around.

I try to use migrate your PC, feature of VM Fusion 8 but I see the error in the title of the topic when I try to start the import operation.

I have disabled the firewall on the PC and MAC

I tried over ethernet and direct connections

When I run the migration of PC Windows tool, he complains that UAC is enabled even if it is not (confirmed via Control Panel and evolution via the command prompt)

When you try to migrate, it accepts the PIN and then shows a warning on this certificate, that I choose to browse

He will then ask admin username/pass on the PC (I tried my only regular and also tried setting a new admin user and try this)

After that, I see the error: the migration of PC - Converter could not connect to the remote computer. A general error occurred: unknown internal error

Should I keep trying to get this working, or that it will be more easy to find a way less direct to turn the PC to a virtual machine on the Mac?
