Unable to print changes to a PDF file (was: printer print)

When I try to print a PDF doc on my Epson printer it prints only the shape of the bottom and not typing I did... for example if I fill out an application form for something of the form is printed with empty boxes instead completed those. Can anyone help?

Because your message was clearly not your comments on the web site of Microsoft Answers, I have it moved from the Feedback forum on the forum of "Programs" of Windows.  When you title your posts, please use a brief description of the problem, not just a list of keywords.  I changed the title of your post.

What version of Windows?  What program you use to change the PDF file?  The print preview function shows the changes before printing?

  • A massive change in a PDF file

So I got the design of labels and I would like to know if there is a way of conceiving the PDF document so that if I add something to a field (when editing the PDF not in the Designer) I change all that. Basically, I want to edit the PDF in the designer so that I'll be able to mass change the labels by changing only a single label.

    Hey Woisix,

The auto save feature prevents changes to PDF since be lost after an unexpected interruption.

Open the file to which you were changes. When you are prompted, click Yes to open the automatically saved files.

If auto-save is turned off, then restart of the Preferences dialog box.

Open Edit > Preferences > Documents and check "automatically save document changes to temporary file every XX minutes" and specify minutes for how often you want to save changes to the PDF files.

If this feature has been disabled, so it is not possible to recover lost in the PDF file changes.

    Hi imad,.

We have a work around for this problem. I hope that it will work in your scenario.

Print the PDF using "Adobe PDF". Edit this new PDF instead of the original one.

    Steps to follow:

    1. go to file-> Print. (Ctrl + P)

    2. Select 'Adobe PDF' as the printer.

    3. click on print. Save in any desired location when prompted.

    4. open the new PDF.

    5 edit.

Let me know if this helps.

  • Attachments embedded in a pdf file

Hi, I am unable to open attachments in a pdf file (for example .doc, .mhtml, etc.) when you use Adobe Reader DC. However attachments open fine when you use Adobe reader 11 or Adobe Acrobat Professional. Change 'Function Lock Down' registry key doesn't help either. Is there a way to make it work with CD player.

    Thanks in advance.

    Rahul

    Hi Sukrit,

Thanks for your reply. However, I found the cause; the "allow opening of attachments not pdf with external applications" option was unchecked. I have re-selected and all attachments open fine.

The ticket can be closed now.

  • editing a pdf file that I not create

This program will allow me to easily change/revise a pdf file that I've not created? Specifically, my employer request frequently copies of my credit card statement so that I can be reimbursed for the expenses and I do not wish to reveal all other purchases I made. Can I remove those with this program?  Currently, I have to print it, cover them Sharpie, scan him in and then send it. Yuck.

  • PowerPoint converted to PDF files lose metadata. Configuration to use to preserve the metadata converted?

    Hello

I work with Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 and Adobe Acrobat 9. I am convert PowerPoint files to PDFs. (file conversion aims to "lock" the content so that people cannot change.) These PDF files go on our Intranet, the company when they need their descriptive metadata.

I want the Acrobat files have 2 slides per page a slide on top of the other-oriented, so I use the function ' print to '.

I open PowerPoint, select "Print", then under the name of the printer I select 'Adobe PDF', then, the catalogue buttons located under the 'impression', choose 'documents' (rather than the default "slips"). Now, under the control of documents (in the print orders) I choose the number of slides per page and the page orientation.

When I do this the document (PDF) seems OK, but the metadata properties (description, keywords, etc.) gets dropped and do not appear in the new PDF. I have to add manually in each individual PDF.

Can someone tell me why the metadata was ignored? (Because it's a PowerPoint document)? Is there a setting I can use so that metadata properties are included?

In addition, I have Acrobat 9.0 Pro that I use when I don't need 2 slides per page (horizontally) and when I want to batch process a group of PowerPoint files. When I use Acrobat Pro, metadata properties come through fine. However, I can't guide the document with 2 slides per page for one slide over each other using Acrobat Pro. Is there a setting in Acrobat Pro, where I can properly Orient a 2 slides per page PDF?

    Thank you

    TPK

    TPK,

George addressed the essence of the issue encountered.
Behind him, the driver (with PowerPoint) is that the principle of "Handout" is a direct-to-paper approach as far as PowerPoint is concerned. So, no need to value by providing information of the file document properties. Therefore, PowerPoint offers any of this information to a printer driver installed (that is, indeed, printer Adobe).

You can configure PowerPoint, such that it provides the "Handout" configuration (with 2 slides per page) for Adobe PDFMaker. But, even once, "Handout" configuration does not include the document properties; or output Tags, bookmarks, links, or notes.

In short, a design 'by' question of PowerPoint, rather something wrong with Acrobat provided Adobe Adobe PDFMaker printer.

As far as I know that this is the case through Office 2007.

Now, you can make a copy of the standard of 'slide' configuration PDFMaker output and it works with the object-editing tool. One of given PDF page "slide" can be size small and rotation. Place this slide at the top of a page.
Manipulate pages second "slide". Move to the first page. Once done, remove the empty PDF pages.

Note You may have to turn the pages of guidance PDF landscape to portrait first.

Fun but a lot of time.

Faster & easier to simply return the info document to the "PDF" which has 2 slides per page.

With Acrobat Pro you can pre-configure a batch sequence or the Action to use learn PDF document information.

    Be well...

  • PDF files download via imap with the incorrect file size and is considered to be "corrupted".

    Hello

I have a computer that is using thunderbird for imap emails. Any time I try to view a pdf, the open used attachment attachment and is reported as damaged. I downloaded a PDF directly from godaddy (mail host) and I can view the file properly. I also noticed that the file I tested was 105K when shown on the godaddy webmail but it was only 103K when appearing as an attachment under thunderbird. I also forwarded the email to myself since the webmail and when I open the email of forwareded, the size of the file is correct and the pdf file now opens. I would like to be able to open PDF files with thunderbird without having to send them to myself since the webmail. Are there settings I could change so that PDF files will be correct the first time?

    Thank you

Try this: open Tools/Options/Advanced/general/Config. Editor, double-click on the mail.server.default.fetch_by_chunks preference to change its value from true to false, close the Config. Editor, OK, restart TB and see if you still have problems to open the attachments.

  • How to open a PDF file using the built-in Viewer? (Windows 8.1)

When I try to open a PDF file I have the pop-up dialogue "you have chosen to open *.pdf Firefox do with this file? And display in Firefox is not one of the options. I am sure that what is happening is that there is no dialogue, and the PDF has just opened in the integrated Viewer pdf.js. If something is wrong with my profile I guess.

I tried the instructions here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/view-pdf-files-firefox-without-downloading-them

I checked through all my extensions and you do not have open a PDF (I have uBlock, NoScript and Zotero).
    I completely uninstalled Adobe Reader.
I checked that in preferences/Applications, PDF is set to "Preview in Firefox.
I did as I went through: config and change all settings with 'pdf' on their return to their default values
But none of these things work.

Is there anything else I can try to get this working?

I think the problem I had was that some of the PDF files is served by Web sites with a "header" (I don't really know what that means) called "Content-Disposition: attachment", and when this happens, Firefox refuses to load them into the integrated PDF Viewer. (I don't know why Web sites this.)

It is very helpful, especially because Firefox gives no indication as to what is happening (why the user preference for a PDF file is not respected). I just thought that the PDF Viewer was broken and spent hours trying to fix it.

If anyone runs into this problem, there is an extension that fixes it: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/inlinedisposition/

There is a Bugzilla bug open about it: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=773942

As far as I can see, it would be trivial reflect changes the extension above in Firefox. In the bug of no claim that it would be a bad thing to do for safety reasons. But Firefox should at least present the user the ability to open the PDF file in the integrated Viewer or even more at least have explanations on why the PDF is not currently open in the Viewer, for example "this PDF file was marked for download, so for safety reasons it has not been opened in the integrated Viewer. Who would save people like me, who don't know the HTTP headers that are complicated, just think that Firefox is broken.
