The problem is that I am using the administrator account, which is also be my only account on this PC. I work with a 11 "laptop Alienware, if that helps at all.

Hello

Uninstalling Windows Update KB2871389 and then put it back solves the problem for most people who have tried.

You can uninstall it by going to programs and features and by clicking on "View installed updates" at the top to the left. You will need to scroll the list to find it. Then right-click on it to get the option uninstall.

You can then reinstall it through Windows updates, or do a search for directly download and install it.

    Good evening

Help nicely with your advice regarding upgrading my windows 8 for windows 8.1 that whenever I try to update to store I get the following "" you can run an edition of Windows 8, which does not support the update of the store " "

    Looking forward to your comments.

I see that your computer is originally shipped with FreeDOS.  You haven't installed Windows 8 in there and where did you get Windows 8 of.

If you installed the Enterprise version or used a KMS (Volume license key), then you will not be able to upgrade to Win 8.1

  • No sound, unable to update windows, a variety of error codes and dssenh.dll problems... Help?

I'm running a Toshiba with Windows Vista. The 24th of this month, I have installed the updates for my computer, but when I rebooted I had absolutely no noise. I double checked to make sure it was not cut, I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, and then I tried to do a system restore. None of them worked.

Then I tried to check updates more see if this would help to solve my current problem and began to find more mistakes, such as "could not find updates, error code: 800 b 0001 ' or 'Code error 8024402F' these are mistakes that I see most.

Then when I go to open certain programs I get errors that say something about ' bad image: problem with Dssenh.dll "when I try to save it again, I get other errors with about 5 other .dll files.

Of course, I went to the Microsoft website long enough... and I went through multiple options and steps, but nothing helped. So I thought that my last option is to ask.

The last thing I can find is to download the "System update readiness Tool" to check for problems.

Well, I can't download or run because of my error '800 b 0001'.

I don't know what I would do at this point... Help?

Before the update from the update began when my computer was being restarted... I had a black screen and had a weird three-step process that was supposed to be recommended. Meanwhile, there was a flood of information that crosses the screen.
I ran a scan complete antivirus just in case, but it could be a virus that has not been detected?

If anyone has any information, it is greatly appreciated... I don't know what to do.

Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are notorious for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself. (No, Symantec Support never say this.) See if the following solves your problems:

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

  • Update Windows XP, SP2 is not keen to download...

I just did a fresh install of XP on a hard drive extra and I'm trying to update XP, automatic updates are on and I even went on the site for updates to check updates. SP2 has tried to download overnight, but it is not nothing, or do anywhere. Anyone happen to know why this is? All small updates have been downloading fine until updated SP2.

(Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum, I thought I chose the Windows XP box)

Download the complete file and install:

You should be happy that they're fail because generally, it is never a good idea to accept installation hardware (audio, video, network), drivers offered by Windows Update.

If you look on this error page:

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/help/10164/i-got-an-error-code-from-Windows-Update

    It is said:

If you receive Windows Update error 0 x 80070103 while installing updates, you might be trying to install a driver is already installed on your computer or a driver that might be less compatible that you have already installed.

Microsoft does not know what are the best drivers for your system and you should only get updated hardware driver of your WWW site of system manufacturers and only when you know that the update may solve a particular problem.

There are many topics where people blindly install all the updates that are available from MS, then the find something on their system which suddenly ceased to behave (audio, video, network).

If you see these hardware driver update offered by Windows Update, that is better right click and hide them so never see again you them.

You can read this topic where I described how to keep MS you offer hardware driver updates in the first place:

Prevent the driver from Windows Update updates

  • all the updates Windows 7 available for installation, 0% download

    Windows 7 pro / 64-bit

A few weeks ago, I received a notice stating that the updates are available and ready to download and install.
I selected files and click OK. And left the room to go do something else, it usually takes an hour to download and install the files. I returned a few hours later and discovered "download 0% complete".  He has never taken this long.

So I contacted MS support by telephone and gave them remote access to my pc.  They conducted tests of troubleshooting.  Conclusions of the trial revealed that some files have been resolved.  Before offline support, they passed a number of folder my way and disconnected.

But I still have the same problem.  Updates are available and always see "download 0% complete".  I even let my pc for eight hours and still nothing.

According to me, there was a lot to ask the same question. Many have responded with answers and all end up the same way.
    "There is no fix.

I asked a question last week, if the updates can be downloaded manually.  One answer said to copy some files and share them on OneDrive.   OK, I opened an account on OneDrive and two shared files.  One being a copy of the information system and the other, a copy of the system events. And who shared with the question. Heard nothing.

I inserted the same link below.

Look at these files and tell me that you know how to solve my problems to download.

Switch your windows update setting to never check the updates temporarily

    Restart the machine

Then you download this from your download folder run from there.

take too long, it took all of 5 seconds, '' If '' windows update settings are turned on forever check

updates before running from the downloads folder.

    Once it installs and restarts

    Then check the updates manually.

  • Y at - it another way to download update Windows 8.1 for Windows 8?

I tried to download the update Windows 8.1 all day (Finally, in all cases for the past 4 hours) and get literally anywhere I can't tell if the download happens at all, because the Windows 8 interface provides no details.  So, as far as I know, nothing has been done and the download is stuck at 0%, or maybe it's to 99.99% and the bar did not update.  I know that the bar does not move.  I also know that I can download other applications on the store and they download and install quickly, I also know that my current download speed is 81 MB/s and finally (I calculate the expected download time, but the user interface does not provide sufficient details to find out), I know that I got the same problem with an update earlier today When you try to download from the Windows Update application, but when I used my browser to download the file you download instantly.  So, is there another way to get the Windows Pro 8.1 update?

If you want to switch to Windows 8.1 free the only way to do it is to download from Windows 8.0 store. The only other way is to buy it. Hope this helps and if you need another post to help and we will be happy to help you.
