I am in the same situation and Apple's KB on uninstalling QuickTime is pretty useless in a corporate environment.

Apple should really get a cleanup script who will just look for an uninstall all QuickTime on a Windows machine.  That would be the best solution because they support is the product.

  • By chance, I uninstalled QuickTime, now I can not install. What can I do?

I uninstalled Quick Time by accident, I tried to add/remove programs it won't let me not reinstall again, it says that they do not know what program created

In general, it is much easier to help if people ask for help to provide full error messages without paraphrase.  It would have helped if you had completed your sentence: "he said that they do not know what program created...". »

It would also help if you explained how you "uninstalled Quick Time by chance," that you have also installed iTunes and other Apple software and what is your Windows version, including service pack.

Without any of this information, I'm reduced to guess, but my guess is that following the steps below should fix things upward.

This message occurs when the registry key pointing to iTunes uninstaller is corrupted (or uninstall of iTunes has been moved or deleted).  The simplest thing to do is just clean things, and then try again.

Used to have a tool just to do this, called the Windows Installer Microsoft Cleanup utility.  Apparently, however, when this tool has been used (I think with MS Office), removes sometimes more he was supposed to, and that's why Microsoft has removed the tool of its download servers.

The Windows Installer Cleanup utility is always available from http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html , or you can use the free Revo Uninstaller.  Before using or the other of these tools, create a restore point from the system, backup the registry with C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT, or (if you can afford) creates a full disk image or a clone - just in case.

Here are the usual directions to perform a "clean installation" of iTunes, based on Support of Apple HT1926 article.

Go to control panel > Add/Remove programs
    Remove these applications:
    1 Apple Software Update
    2. Apple Mobile Device Support
    3 Hello
4 iPod for Windows (this may or may not exist, be it, it is not necessary, then we can remove it)
    5 iTunes
    6 QuickTime

Open my computer > C: > Program Files
    Delete this files (if present)
    1 iPod
    2 iTunes
    3 QuickTime

    Empty your temp directory:
Open my computer > C: > Documents & Settings > username > Local Settings and delete the contents of the folder called "Temp".

If you don't see the local settings, enable hidden files:
Tools > Folder Options > view tab
Select Show Hidden Files & folder, and then click OK

Once this file is empty, restart the computer

[See note above regarding cleanup utility]
Download & install the Windows Installer Cleanup utility:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301/
Launch the utility: start > programs > Windows Installer Clean Up
Select one of the applications mentioned above and click on remove

    Restart the computer
Download & reinstall iTunes from here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

  • I can't uninstall my windows 8.1 PC quicktime

I tried several different solutions, including going into programs and clicking on uninstall (just quicktime and all Apple), I've seen other solutions when I googled the question but I'm not a geek so was afraid I would mess something up.

    Any suggestions?

Windows users must uninstall Quicktime. Procedure is detailed here:

Mac OS users should perform as well as security risks that prompted that do not affect the OS from Apple.

  • What about those of us who paid for QuickTime Pro?

That's fine and dandy that Apple encourages users of Windows to uninstall QuickTime, but...

Unfortunately, this means I have to update my iTunes version 9 to continue to see my current music videos and thus lose the Cover Flow feature that they deprecated versions.

And what of those of us who paid for QuickTime Pro, like me?

I think Apple should at least provide us with credit App Store, because they no longer offer a replacement for her.

QuickTime Player version 7 came out almost 11 years ago and it still works fine.

Apple ends the development of version 7, and the only version that is updated is version 10, which is the only OS X software.

Apple doesn't give refunds on purchases of downloadable software.
