I ave a problem with Vista service pack 2 running on Sony viao with the network. I have access to the internet, but my connection icon has a red X on it with the message "unknown connection status: the dependency service or group could not start". Hi IMOMDS,

    1. don't you make changes before the show?
    2. have you checked if the network connections and support TCP/IP NetBIOS services are started?

Try these steps and check the result.
    Step 1: Virus scanner online
    a. visit http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm
    b. click Full Service scan and complete the scan.
    c. check the difference.

Note: Use your favorite security software to search for viruses or malware on the computer and remove it.

Step 2: If the problem persists, restore the computer to an earlier time when it was working fine
    a. see what is system restore?
    b. Once you have restored the computer, check if the problem persists.

  • Unknown connection status - unable to connect to the Internet, Vista

Hello. My computer was working fine last night, but when I started it today, I couldn't go online. When I move the mouse over the network and the share icon in the lower left corner of the computer, he said: "the dependency service or group could start unknown Connection status. When I try to diagnose the problem, I can not because the diagnostic policy Service is not running. When I go to the Open Service Control Manager, access is denied.

Meanwhile, I keep getting warnings that my firewall is not enabled. When I try to enable it, I get a message that Security Center can't turn on.

I ran Avast and he found nothing wrong. I tried to do a system restore, but that did not help. I tried to go to "Connect to the Internet" via the control panel and network layout and I was told that the wizard has encountered an error and could not connect. I can't connect and I can't always turn on a firewall. What should I do? Please help me.

    Hello

Maybe an update caused the problem, although it could have been something different.

Try a restore of the system to a point before that happened. And immediately thereafter enter
Control Panel - Windows updates - top left settings and set it to download and informs you instead
Automatic. Leave it until you are sure that everything is OK and then you can add them one at a time
to troubleshoot BUT click right on and HIDE all the driver updates. If after a day or two there is no
causing problem of updates then restore the automatic updates.

Replace the nlasvc.dll, as it was suggested that this had become corrupt. No solution.

    Reset the TCP/IP stack

I ran sfc/SCANNOW in the administrator command prompt and it did not work.
I tried this, then in Windows started normally and start mode without network safe.
    All to nothing does not.

I don't have the Trend Micro Antivirus software installed.
Initially I had Panda, but at random that no longer works, so I then installed Kaspersky.
Everything worked fine for a while now, I have this problem, which is different from the other problem I had with Panda.
I tried to uninstall Kaspersky, and still no internet connection is available.

Any additional help / advide, greatly appreciated.

    Hi KarthiK TP

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, it came too late, and I'm done to restore factory settings.
    This solves the problem.

Just to let you know, the step where we had problems is this awareness network (NLA) location. I was getting an error message whenever I tried this step.

That this step did not work, I wouldn't have been able to run all analyses of the viruses online, as I had no internet access.

In any case, I have Windows 7, if all goes well, it is more stable.

    Thank you

Please help!, I had problems with the installer and read in the forum to go to the registry and do a right-click on the current user hkey permissions and system under objects of type then press on check names and apply and then select restart, once I restarted all my icons are white with ink instead of exe nothing will run programs to cmd regedit anything that requires admin access. I tried to restore from disk and said all settings could not be restored and I'm stuck. I had to use no admin programs and are not admin using the sandbox which I forgot that I even installed. I don't want to spendd the next 2 days, reinstall all programs and settings from cant even get to windows easy transfer. Will someone please help? I have posted on other forums and that you have not received even a suggestion. Thank you

It seems that you performed a restore of the system since the repair mode. If this could not solve the problem you can restore your registry files manually to an earlier point via the steps described below. The process is complex and requires some careful typing. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you if you lack experience in this field. Note that it may reset your password to a previous value.
    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. select Repair from the menu.
3 log in as administrator if you are prompted.
    4. Select repair when prompted.
    5. Select the command line.
    6. identify the correct drive letter for your Windows installation. It could be one drive other than c, but it will not X:. You do this by typing commands
    DIR C:\Win*
    Dir D:\Win*
    dir E:\Win*
until you find the Windows folder.
    I'll call this "Q:" drive
    7 type these commands:
    CD /d Q:\windows\System32\config
    xcopy *. * Q:\RegBack\
    CD RegBack
    dir
    8. review the dates of the software, system, and SAM files. The files created before or after that is your problem?
    9. If they were made before the problem appeared, you can then type these commands:
    copy software / y...
    /y copy system...
    /y copy Sam...
(the two points are part of each order)
    10. restart normally. If things don't work then you can go back by copying files from the original register of Q:\Regback to Q:\Windows\System32\config.

  • State of the unknown connection, DPS and missing permissions to Trustedinstaller

    Unknown connection status,
    DPS and
    missing permissions to Trustedinstaller

Hi, I have a problem that my computer cannot connect to the internet.

A bit strange, because when I opened the dialog box to connect to the network, I am told that the computer is already connected to full speed.

But warns the network icon in the status bar "unknown connection status. The dependency service or group was able to start. »

And when I open the Connection Wizard to the internet there is a message "The wizard cannot continue" and the following details of tecknical (there is a version in French):

    "The component GUID: {7071ECA3-663B-4BC1-A1FA-B97F3B917C55}.
    The component file: [C:\Windows\system32\connect.dll]
    Error: (0x800706BA) .

    Additional info:
Impossible to detect an Internet connection.

This frustrating experience came from the past months. I was busy at the time tried several different antivirus programs, one after the other. I uninstalled this antivirus after trying for a month, then continued to install the following, just to see if it was the ultimate antivirus I want really to buy and use. Then, when I installed the following antivirus, I was told that it was not necessary for me to first uninstall the old antivirus. The new installation of the antivirus program could take care of this.  Then I went to install Kaspersky Anti-virus, and after that, I tried Bitdefender, under the presumption that the installer will take care of uninstalling the old antivirus.

I don't know if this actually produced some kind of conflict, or if it's just my imagination, but it is somewhere at this point that the problem started. Maybe something happened in the registry?

    1. unfortunately I have no point of restoring a useful, probably because I had not booked enough space on my system.

    2. I tried the command
    Ping www.google.com
cmd.exe as administrator, but no, he had no contact with the internet.

    3. I tried the ipconfig command and got two IP addresses correctly as a response, other media have been disconnected.

    4. I also tried the commands
    netsh winsock reset catalog
    netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
    netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
and told him after that to restart the computer, but it did not help.

    5. of course, the first thing I did to try to get on the internet was trying to diagnose and fix, but it is still to this day always says "Network Diagnostics cannot run because the Diagnostics Policy Service is not running" I then have the option to open the Service Control Manager to manually start the diagnostic policy Service. But when I try to do it gets stuck and the DPS does not start.

    6. in my research on the internet I came across some interesting information in Microsoft Answers referring to
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/943996
It turns out that, in this article, which...
"For service"Service of political diagnosis', the problem may occur when the Trustedinstaller account is missing permissions for the key below:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DPS\Parameters

Is the necessary permission: full control, read. »

Comparing with my Win7 machine, it turns out that indeed these two permissions are checked in this registry key.

Open the registry editor in the Vista system confirmed that Trustedinstaller (in French CREATOR OWNER) were missing two permissions. I checked both boxes, but here I ran into a problem: when I clicked 'Apply' controls have disappeared. Can someone please tell me what is the problem here? And this is the solution to the problem of connectivity together?

Thus, when the Diagnostic Policy Service is running, it will also open access once more to the internet?

My computer is a Packard Bell EasyNote BU with MS Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit Service Pack 2.

Forum about it queries are a couple of years. This means that the problem has been resolved without my noticing?

Without computer access to the internet, it is difficult to diagnose and repair the computer to solve the problem.
It's a last-ditch effort, I would be so grateful if someone comes up with the solution.
