"Unknown device" in my device manager - but the system ready to use?

Hi everyone, it's me again.

I have just bought (and already exchanged for a second) a device that I want to install on my desktop. This is a Hiyatek Multi multi-function which is mainly for media card reader options provided. There is also a USB 2.0 port, fan controller, taken mic and speaker jack ports as well as the different media slots. The device is supported by Win XP

I have the same problem persisted with this device (which I connected to the only place where I can find for the USB cables) which shows as "Unknown device" in my equipment manager. The statement indicates that Microsoft software should automatically detect the device and install the drivers for me however, the bubbles of pop-up information "Found New hardware" followed by "Unknown device" followed of "your device installed and ready to use" HUH! How can it make sense please...

Peripheral installation mini disk that came with the camera auto works when it is inserted, but this process is stopped because the device was not recognized.

On the motherboard to point plugin, I did reference has been used to connect my 2 front mounted USB 1.0 ports (which have now been removed) and the connector for that was a plug of white pine of 10 or 12. The new tracks to the device, I am trying to install are 4pin sheets I've located in the same orientation as the big white connector. There are some images here...

http://i812.Photobucket.com/albums/zz48/Vanguard_01/HiyatekUSBcables1.PNG

http://i812.Photobucket.com/albums/zz48/Vanguard_01/Managerdisplay.PNG

As a result, the only things that work on the new Panel are the speed controller and the speaker port.

Also today I installed a PCI card with USB 2.0 with 3 other additional ports on the front of my machine but there is no extra connection on the card (for these 2 4 sheets, I mentioned earlier), which appear to be installed correctly from the 3rd link image above.

I need to know if I connect it correctly or do I need to get some software from somewhere.

Thank you

The answer was there in front of me!

I got a response from Hiyatek who pointed out that cable sequence was not the same on the new sheets for my device even if they had stipulated it also on the box that it was compatible with USB 1.0 to the motherboard connections. The Green and white wires were knocked down in fact (this can be seen in the pictures). I now spliced the old Plug and the wires on the wiring of new device and it works.

I was however not aware that there are differences in the wiring of the plug between the connections USB - is - this current?

  • External hard drive in the Device Manager but not in disk management

So I have this external hard drive Western Digital 1 TB. I've had for over a year now and it was working fine. I would like to trade my XBox 360 and the computerregularly. Then one day I brought home, plugged into the computer and nothing. My friend and I couldn't understand anything. We have gone as far as removing the hard drive and put it directly into the computer. I have reviewed, that he has lost.

Then yesterday, on a whim, I tried to connect it again to the USB port. It is presented in the Device Manager but says that its drivers have not been installed. Then, I changed the USB ports on the back of the computer and as if by magic, that this is once again. I had full access. Stupid (and you can see where this is going) did not immediately transfer anything off the hard drive. I'm looking for an image and listen to a song off of said hard drive when the drive went suddenly not recognized.

I can see now the reader in the Manager of devices under disk drives, and USB devices. However it does not appear in the disk management window. And Yes, I checked as well the Productdocumentation upper and lower, that it is not listed. Go to the area where you assign drive letters not shown not be. Normally this is E:.

I also tried to remove the UpperFilters registry in regedit. It was not to remove LowerFilters. Obviously, that didn't work or the other.

I tried several cords and all my USB ports with no luck either.

I went on the WD Web site, but they do not offer anything other than a partitioner that I would save rather than as a last resort as there are a number of things on the hard drive I want to save.

So it's not like it's a new HD to be partitioned or an old man who comes out crapped. I know there's the data I just need to get home long enough to get what I need. Maybe I missed my window, but maybe I did not. Maybe someone can help. I'm at the end of my mind on this thing.

Sounds like a problem of partition (maybe corrupted partition tables) if the device is recognized, but not the 'disk '.

There are recovery/repair partition about tools.  Western Digital actually have some but I think that they are made for internal drives.

If I were you, I start with WD and start looking for partition recovery/repair tools.  If this is the problem then it is the right kind of problem and you using the right type of solution can fix it easily.

If this is not the case, some data recovery tools can help you recover some files even if you have to recreate a new partition, although I wish you much luck with this approach!

Good luck whatever you try and make sure that you do not overwrite the what partition information, you have without making backups (many partition edititing software will offer backups)

  • Gamepad Xbox 360 as seen in "Device Manager", but not recognized as "Game controller" and will not be installed all the drivers

My problem is very similar to the one raised here:

However, the OP in this question unfortunately never had answer to his question.
When I plug my Xbox 360 controller on my laptop, my computer recognizes it as a device, but does not recognize it as a game controller. Instead, my device is listed under a category called "Other devices", and the drivers are not installed (he gets the little warning sign yellow after the icon).
I've tried right-clicking on the device, by clicking 'Uninstall', out in him plugging, uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft Xbox 360 accessories, restarted my computer and each unique combination of these things.
I tried to talk to an Ambassador of Microsoft, who told me to update the driver and manually make a 'human interaction device', but unfortunately it did not work.
I called Support of Windows games, who gave me information from these links:
    support.Microsoft.com/kb/908888
    support.Microsoft.com/kb/906347
Outside of download the drivers manually in the form of 'Microsoft Xbox 360 accessories' (which I already have), I wasn't able to try all of the hotfixes listed in the guides, because my camera is not listed as a joypad or human interface device. It is simply listed as "Xbox 360 Joypad" and it is listed under the heading "other devices."
It seems that there is just something wrong with my USB and it's just is not installing drivers properly, but this isn't the case. I plugged many other devices, including an iPod, a mouse and an external HARD drive, which all had their drivers properly installed and works great.
I also know that it is not a problem with the xbox controller, that I plugged into another laptop (also Windows 7 64-bit), as well as pilots very well on the other laptop.
I'm really puzzled by this situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated, but please do not repeat the information or links I listed here, or who was in the last question which I quoted above. Thank you for your help.

UPDATE: I finally got to work. Everything is beautifully detailed in this video from Youtube:

    Here's what you do:
    1. plug your device and go to Device Manager
2 right click on everything that your computer recognizes your device as (for me, it was listed under 'Other devices' and had a yellow warning sign on this subject) and click on "Uninstall".
    3. disconnect your device
    4. If you have not already done so, download and install the appropriate for your device 'Microsoft Xbox 360 accessories' program
    5. plug your device back on and go back to Device Manager
6 right-click on everything that your computer recognizes your device as (for me, it was listed under 'Other devices' and had a yellow warning sign on this subject), but this time click on "update driver software".
    7. click on "browse computer driver software.
    8. click on "Let Me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
    9. Select "Microsoft Common Controller" and then select your device. Have it install this driver. From there on, it should work on.

  • Satellite A200 - 26 d - error code 19 Device Manager on the USB ports

I decided to try Windows 7, but the usb ports do not work in Device Manager all the usb root hubs have a yellow triangle and the State of the device says "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) ».

I tried to uninstall via the Device Manager and restart the computer and download and reinstall the drivers for vista, because I can't seem to find the drivers for Windows 7, but none of this fixed anything. I was wondering if there was something else I could try or if I could get a link for the correct drivers.

    Hey JP317!

If it didn t work removing the USB ports in Device Manager and restart the laptop, you should try to update the chipset drivers because they are usually a part of it.

So check the site Web of Intel for an update and you should also find Windows 7 drivers.

  • USB-6008 appears in Device Manager but not in MAX or Labview

I use Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit and you want to use a USB-6008 in LabVIEW 8.5.1. The device appears under data acquisition devices in the Windows Device Manager. The flashing on the device, but the device does not appear in the Explorer of Measurement & Automation 8.7.1. am I missing something?

    He doubts.

First, check the easy things... to refresh the list of devices to MAX and see if it comes to that.  I'm guessing you've already tried this, but it never hurts to check.

My bet is that it's a database corrupted Max.  This happens from time to time.  Usually when I see it, the 'Dev1' always appears in LabVIEW if you plop down constant DAQ hardware or control.

There are tools and processes to erase and start over with a new database, but in my experience, the best way to resolve it is simply update or reinstall MAX.

  • App, opening a file via windows shell commands: "a device attached to the system does not work.

    Hello!

I hope that someone here will be able to throw some lights on my question, if I post this is the wrong place please let me know because I was directed here (which forum? ). OK, I support and develop custom applications. An older application especially written in Delphi allows users to attached documents (pdf, jpg, txt, etc.) to the records of equipment in a data base. Later users can view these records of equipment and press a button to display the document.

When the user presses the button to view the document, the application uses the folder variable to save the document to the temporary path and then asks windows via a shell command to open the file. The appeal of Delphi for windows used is the following:

    ShellExecute (GetDesktopWindow, 'open', PChar (TempFile), ",", SW_SHOWNORMAL);

Normally this process works very well, we have had no problems so far. On a single computer (windows xp pro with Service Pack 3) belonging to a client, instead of opening the file, windows returns the system 31 error and the message ""a device attached to the system is not functioning. ". is displayed.

    * If I navigate to the location where the file is stored on the disk and try to open it, software adobe reader opens the file correctly.

    * I found some suggestions that the file extension is associated properly. PDF associated with Notepad, I changed, and the application could ask windows to open the file very well. Open the file from the location on the work of disc as well. Change the file for adobe and the problem persisted.

    * I reinstalled adobe reader software, but also a previous version of adobe and the problem persisted.

    * The application doesn't have any problem asking other files opened, only those associated with adobe reader on this same machine. The problem does not exist on other machines.

That about sums up the problem. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Louis

It was determined that the version of adobe reader was at fault.
