Update Linksys E3000

I installed the firmware on my Linksys E3000 router.  I downloaded the software of Linksys.  Now when I connect to the router, I get a page from IBM with a "security warning" and three options: do not submit, submit anyway, and I trust this site, do not alert me again.  It says also "any information you enter on this page, including the user names and passwords, should be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party".

That is what it is?

Tried restarting.  Still have the question.  I posted a screenshot.

Thank you

  • I can't get to a specific Web site - Linksys E3000

    Hello

I have a Linksys E3000 and everything works fine... until last week.  A Web site, I go all the time has stopped working.  The site is Martini in the morning, www.martiniinthemorning.com.  This is a great internet radio station.  I listen to the station via other resources, but I can't go to the Web site that has a lot of features that I use.

The details are that of any one of the computers connected to our network, I can't access the site.  When I plug a computer directly into the modem from Comcast, I can access the site.  I changed nothing that I am aware and everything worked until the Monday of last week.

I thought it wasn't what actually on the router, but a TRACERT shows that I am.  I have a desktop running Vista, 2 laptops running XP Pro, an iPad, and none of them can connect to this site.  My iPhone cannot connect when it is on the network, but when it is 3G, it can.

I know can someone ask me to join the TRACERT list, so here they are.  I appreciate any suggestions.

    Kind regards

I mistyped the MTU size. Change the size of the MTU to 1365. Cycle the router and see if it works.

You have already updated the firmware of the router. After upgrading the firmware on the router, it is recommended that you must reset the router and reconfigure the router. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait 10 seconds. power cycle the router and reconfigure the router. See if it works.

  • Linksys E3000 (changed to 199.182.166.168 DNS servers) No. Playstation Network Access

For a month I got weird pop ups on my IPAD, ANDROID phones, desktop computers AND home. I just thought that I had a bad month and I need to spend more time with my individual devices and get clean them. I then noticed recently, last week I was unable to connect to the Playstation network (NAT Type failed, the Internet connection Test failed). This was happening on my PS3 and PS4. I direct connect of PS4 and PS3 to my Modem cable from Time Warner and I have no problem. Everything works fine. But when connected to wireless or wired to my Linksys e3000... no dice.

I connect to my router and so some research. I noticed that my DNS servers are 199.182.166.168 and 199.182.166.169. I decided the router and then restart my cable modem. Routers Gets a new address and but there are still some problems with the connection to the network Playstaiton (could be downwards). I noticed that my IP DNS address is different.2xx.xxx.xxx.xxx.  I restore the configuration on the router and DNS goes back to 199.182.166.168.  This is all the information I have at the moment. When I get home tonight I'll have more information.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Is the router configured for DNS custom or did you automatically detect DNS of the ISP service and ISP modem?

What modem to ISP Mfr and model # do you have?

You could ask the ISP service as well about it. Usually they don't change DNS very often.

It is recommended to test for other DNS services if you want to use different DNS, you can use this:

    http://www.grc.com/DNS/benchmark.htm

    or http://code.google.com/p/namebench/

  • Linksys E3000 cause Internet slow speed

I came home yesterday and my Internet is very slow. Later, I discovered that it was because of my Linksys E3000 because if I don't have my E3000 and go directly to a cable modem, it works fine.

I tried to reconfigure, firmware upgrade, factory reset and none of them worked. So, what happens? Any sugestion is much appreciated.

Well, I finally highlight at the origin of this problem. It was RapidDrive from Rapidshare. As soon as I remove this piece of junk on my computer, everything works fine and fast again. I have this program that runs in the background on all my computers. Thus, makes it harder to solve. As soon as I remove, I tried running 8.5 Squeeze, he always gave me the error but my Internet speed is not slowing down.

  • Windows 7 Home Edition Premium and Linksys E3000 and configuration problems with Dell/Broadcom half mini wireless 1501 wireless adapter DWLAN

I'be been on the net looking for an answer requarding my Linksys E3000 router and my card adapter Mini PCI Dell/Broadcom DWLAN (DraftN) haf installed on my laptop Dell Inspiron N7010 XL 17 R and the inability to configure the card so he gets the same speed-172 wireless MBps_ as does our HP Vista Home Premium SP2 Laptop and Desktop! Yes, I spoke with Dell who seem to think that all their problems Tech and resolutions can be found with their technicians of the Manila-based Super (Word of warning-do NOT enter into the world of the concierge program of Dell Tech who, after having been assured it is based in the United States, I agreed to be a beta tester and lost my harddrive despite numerous attempts to stop the technicians to access remotely to do stupid things - but the new live Webcam and learn the hard drive but got none of my software original Dell with it as promised, too - another story). In any case, after playing with the DWLAN share of Dell said they question-nope Linksys ' cuz of course my other two computers would be quick at the speed they do. So I get ahold of Comcast, who of course told me, it's a matter of DELL. I have the WPA2 encryption on a network secure, but because my router there is no way to set up a "secure" network guest unless I have disable access to him (seems odd, he says: it is not guaranteed when someone trying to pass over the network, has knowledge password-weird with this router) it is anyway with this mini half DWLAN and the fact that it is not near the speed as the two other wireless adapters. My problem is with the speed I found all kinds of tips for use between Comcast Modem and Linksys router to make your network hum. What I want for now is someone to tell me how to configure this adapter on this Dell computer, so it does the job, it should. I have a program of diagnosis with her and from what I see, I must get off channel 1 as there is too much interference, but before I go and change the settings of the router, I want the adapter to work - especially since it's about 100 Mbps slower than our other wireless adapters. Does anyone know what should be the correct settings for this DWLAN 1501 or that I now need a new adapter in this laptop as well? Thanks for your help.

    LindaSView

    Hi Linda,.

Have you tried to forget an instant wireless and bypass the router and cable connect directly to the modem to see if you get the speed you want in this way?  Yes, I know that this means to temporarily suspend the internet connection to the local network and also means the creation of a special no wireless connection for this computer.  But it could help determine if the problem is the computer and the router or wireless adapter - which excluding at least.

If it works fine, then you can pass the wireless problem.  Otherwise, if it is still slow with a direct link, then you may need to consider another problem is involved and the router and adapter can actually be very well and you need to focus on all that is the bottleneck.

I'm suggesting this to eliminate the possibilities that can be the underlying cause, while you spend your time on the development of bad (although I admit that I think that you are right and it is more likely - it can be useful a test just to be sure).

    Good luck!

  • Linksys E3000 Firmware update 18/01/2011

There is a new version out.

    Firmware

    01/12/2010

    Ver.1.0.04 (version 6)

Cannot see what has been added.

No, as you pointed out correctly in another forum, you must use Cisco Connect as in the previous firmware.  So I do not know why Linksys posted this item as an improvement on the previous firmware.

  • Linksys E3000 - connectivity - can't access Admin setup, etc.

I had some connectivity issues. I have Cox and a cable modem connected to an E3000 wireless router. Both wireless and direct connections are normally working on my Windows XP computer.

This morning there was no internet connectivityt. I decided to try to access my router admin page. I couldn't get him. I'm positive, I entered the correct DNS number because it works now. I even turned off wireless to make sure she's trying to connect by ethernet b/c admin wireless access is disabled. This is my main question. What possible reason could I login on my admin page. The router is o. It is plugged it. I even restarted and I still couldn't connect to it? I did an ipconfig/release and / renew and which did not.

Ok. So I connect my computer directly to the cable modem. My internet is now. It is still a little buggy, but. (In other words, as soon as I open my browser, my google.com homepage says the same thing... without connecttivity. Ok. So, I'm trying to update... It says the same thing. Ok. Then I try another link. It works now. I try google again. It works now. I repeat again and again close and reopen my browser and it's like he's not only the first page you are trying to open.)

But, I digress. It's the router. So I set about how it was - Internet through the router to the computer. Now, magically, it works, and I can access the Web page and admin?

So, why couldn't access my router page before. Cox is this coming Tuesday? Does this sound like something is wrong on their end or is it the router.

Router about a basic configuration, but I don't change the IP start and the range of IP addresses to include only 6 possible connections.

Yes. I tried everything but now the buttong reset for 30 seconds. Instead, I just unplugged. Nevertheless, there is STILL NO REASON I wouldn't be able to connect to my router a minute and the next minute I can? And the only thing that changes is that I disconnected 1 Ethernet and then plugged it back it later. Unless it was a bad connection or a cable, but I checked that already.

    Forgotten. No help here.

  • Linksys E3000 user: Power LED keeps blinking, even power this cycle several times

My E3000 power light continues to blink this morning without obvious reason.

I followed the recommendations of this community of hard reset (press the reset button and then it works for 1 minute) several times but the power LED still flashes. LAN cable light does not illuminate when I plugged a cable LAN. Ping 192.168.1.1 goves no answer.

You have a solution or it's time to buy a new one? Thanks for your reply.

I'm afraid that the unit is maybe defective already, child in low age-Mcmo. If it is still in the 1 year warranty, it can be replaced in the store.

  • Linksys E3000 NAT open Xbox Live settings

    Hi all

I recently upgraded my the WRT160n V3 to the E3000 router. I had the port to the front of my old 160n to get my game Xbox Live NAT settings to OPEN.  When I switched on the router for the new E3000, my Xbox Live settings are returned to the Medium (medium). I assumed that this would have happened since this is a new installation/router.

Can someone help me configure my E3000 and Xbox Live so I can have my open NAT settings?  I only need to configure the Xbox 1. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

The previous is large enough and generally useless for the configuration of the E3000 to facilitate capacity NAT open xbox live connections. 1 make sure you have a static IP assignment for the xbox an assignment of dhcp for the mac address of the xbox in creating or statically assigning an ip address to the xbox outside the dhcp scope, you set but on the same network / subnet of course. then go to the tab under applications and games and the prior port 3074, single port forwarding, both internal and external, to the IP address of your xbox. Name the rule openNAT or something that you will recognize. put a cheeck in the box to enable the rule and click on save settings to activate. Your xbox should now work without complaint about the need for open NAT xbox live test and gameplay should work just fine.

  • Linksys E3000 holds up my printer offline wireless network

I used to have WRT54G2 and everything works fine. Then I switched to the new E3000, he couldn't pick up my printer.

I found a solution online activate transfer IP HP Officejet 6500 192.168.1.144, it works but not more after turn off and on printer. I reconfigure my printer wireless several times, it still works just after installation, but whenever I have to disable my printer and then turn it back on, I can't reach it wireless. My network will not pick up my printer unless I have to go through all the hassle to set up printer again whenever I use it.

I guess that this is caused by the new E3000 router because I had no problem with my old router wrt54g2. How can I fix it? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

If your printer takes any IP address directly from the router then you might face the problem, as the IP address of your printer will continue to change right away.

If you know the IP address of the printer, then on your computer opens IE and in the address bar, type the IP address of your router, once you connect to the printer Interface, then you can configure a static IP address to your printer which is outside the list of DHCP client table.

Once you have done with the configuration, then re-install the printer software and that will solve your problem.

  • E3000 as or to get a better access point?

Hello, I installed an EA8500 router as my main 'brain' The entire House is wired ethernet. I have a House of very good size, so upstairs in my room... the signal of the iphone is not the best... I had a previous firmware Linksys E3000 current tomato from my router laying around... so I have set up to work as a WIRED Access Point and it works fine.

Now my question is... I would purchase say... An AC Wireless extender/access point? Is there a different big an E3000 and a real access point/range extender wireless?

    Thank you all

Hi manofice. If you have a lot of wireless devices that are capable AC and having a challenge with the connection to the EA8500, then Yes, it may be preferable to get an AC range extender. But if only the iPhone was having a problem with wireless connectivity and you mentioned adding the E3000 as access point is working fine, then it is not necessary to get an Extender for the moment.

    Hope that helps.

  • E3000 and wired printer?

I was wondering if there was a way to connect a wired printer to my linksys E3000? or I'm still stuck with the help of my office to spare.  Thank you.

It seems that it is a connection printer USB only, no network capability.  You can try a USB print server, but a new wireless printer would be about the same price.

  • Range of E3000

I want to buy a wireless router which has a range of 30 yards/100 feet around my second floor room in my garage.

The E3000 there this range?  If this is not the case, what wireless router has this range.

Linksys E3000 is a powerful dual-band Wireless-N router optimized for wireless entertainment. You will easily get around 120-130 feet Wireless Range with this router.

  • Quick question on network printing when you use e3000 in cascade mode

HELO there! I'm new to the community and would be very happy if someone can help me please with a small question I have?

I just got Verizon FiOs in my house and still have my old Linksys e3000 router. I was reading online that it is possible to configure as an another access point wireless or cascade to expand my wifi. However, I am in a pinch of becaue I have I used to print wireless from my laptop. My printers are connected by ethernet to my router. I don't know if I can make the LAN - LAN configuration so I was looking at the LAN - WAN configuration procedure, but he said something on that there are separate networks (2) instead of (1) if I like that. I'm unable to connect a wire from my Verizon for the Linksys router.

So my question is, if I do LAN - WAN configuration cascading, I would be still able to print from my printers if they are always connected to the e3000 if I am connected to the main network? Or if I should move to the other network before printing?

I apologize if my question makes no sense - I don't have a lot of experience with routers or the words with her.

I would be very happy if someone could help me. Thank you!

    I followed this guide - http://www.linksys.com/ca/support-article?articleNum=132275

Cascading E3000 LAN to LAN works perfectly with the existing configuration of the printer.

In waterfall or connect a Linksys router to another router

Things to keep in mind when cascading a second router:

    1. Change the IP address of the secondary router to something like 192.168.1.254 so its on the same network, but is not in conflict with the main router
    2. Make sure that the DHCP service is disabled on the secondary router
    3. Make sure that nothing is ever connected to the Internet port on the secondary router
