Update of the T61 system changes the Type of product and the product ID

Hello

My T61 laptop has the following numbers

Type XXXXXX 6464-CTO 08/87

Product ID: 6464-V52

I'm trying to update system but the system update watch instead of 6464-CTO product ID V52 is a mistake?

Now I want to update BIOS, I can't change the V52 CTO I should?

  • How can I update my Windows XP system on a larger hard drive and keep all my data and programs?

    New hard drive.

I'm going to install a new hard drive of 250 GB. The old man has only 20 GB. I have Windows XP SP3 and my PC is a Dell Dimension 8100. How can I reset my new HD with all the programs, and what is the correct order?

Use Clonezilla to copy the old drive to the new drive. Once complete, go into the bios and set to boot from the new drive and then save by pressing F10.

Once you get to Windows, you can configure one or more partitions on the empty space of the new drive with disk management. In addition, you can now format your old drive if you wish.

  • How are the changes/updates on the attributes target system are reconciled?

    Hello

How are the changes/updates on the attributes target system reconciled within IOM automatically? Suppose if the userpassword in OID is changed via external SSO application by the user. How these changes at the end of the target system can be reconciled in IOM? Annex which task should be scheduled for the same? I understand that we can configure reconciliation the target system. But suppose that happens if a another example; a group of groups are removed from the OID; How these changes will be reconciled within the IOM? It is done in real time?

Response to most early would be really useful.

    Thank you
    -oidm.

The only changes that are made in time real are push systems. For example, Peoplesoft has an Integration Broker that when a change occurs, the events is pushed to the listener that then creates the recon event to IOM. Synchronization of Active Directory password is also a push system where the domain controller has a dll that is triggered when the password is changed to push to the IOM.

Other targets are reonconciled to an interval defined in your task scheduler. Most of the targets have some form of variable change so that only the entries that are updated in the target are reconned in. Values such as passwords should not be reconciled however because they will be in clear text in the recon Manager and in the database.

As for your example, it does not really have that IOM criteria. IOM does not manage the OID groups to a group level, it manages the permissions of the user level. So if you continue to run the recon OID group Lookup on an interval of schedueld, it would update the list of choices that is used to define the groups available on the child table. Then when the recon is run agaisnt these OID of the user that have been changed (assuming that a change to a membership in a group is an update to the user, which is not in Active Directory) and then you would get their current list of groups they have right to.

  • backup of the old system changed the type of operating system installation

After backup all data to your desktop at home and move the backup file on the replacement computer that was running and had been activated, got backup and ran into problems.  The original pc was an OEM system with a valid OEM key and had been activated for years.  The new system is a renewed system which has an apparently valid cd and COA 'For refurbished computers' active fine and had been restarted several times after activation before the fiasco of the backup.

After that I ran the backup recovery, system was restarted as planned, but when the time came to connect to windows, we encountered a problem of activation.  He said that the system should be activated.  I went ahead and put in the key that is attached to the system (the key for PC) refurbished, but he would go through.  I checked that I read the key from the sticker correctly several times and by two other people.  He would not suffer.  Just on a chance that the backup of the old system caused a little problem, I tried the OEM key that was on the original system.  He's been through.

If the old system should simply be scrapped, I don't think anything, but it will be either made to disadvantaged youth, so I want to make sure that everything is always good about it and it is all above board.  In its current form of the key is now on two different systems.  What can I do to fix this?

    Hello

I suggest you to download the tool to update product key on your system and then update the product key and check. Follow the steps mentioned in the article below.

  • After 13 updated both the system rebooted and now as he begins to install XP it autorestarts. It will not recover to the last known good config and delivers a message of corrupted config file.

    Any ideas?

You will share exactly what the message of the corrupt config file says?  My crystal ball takes off the second Wednesday of each month.
If your system reboots continuously, the next time the system reboots, start tapping the F8 key until you see the menu Boot Options Advanced XP.  On the Advanced Boot Options menu, select:
Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure
This will display the error message that you don't see when the system restarts.  This is what Windows is supposed to do when there a failure - it is supposed to automatically restart.  The error you see on the screen has your clues...
If you do not see the menu Options start Advancded or you do not have to turn it off automatic restart on option system in the list of choices, you need to try again until you do.  Start typing the F8 key earlier and more frequently as your system begins to come alive.  If you miss the window of opportunity F8, you must try again.
Please provide additional information on your system:
What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)
The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?
You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)
    ?
Most of the time (in recent memory) when there is a problem after installing Microsoft updates, the problem is because the computer was somehow afflicted before/when updates have been installed and updates simply bring to the surface a problem that was not evident before.
If the last thing people remember is to install the updates from MS, it's am understandable reaction in some way involve updates for updating the post problems when things don't work properly afterwards and especially during the next reboot.
Another reaction is to try to remember all of the updates you have installed and somehow uninstall the updates one of the XP Recovery Console until you find one who is 'responsible '.  Unless you noted all issues of update, it would be more difficult, but not impossible.  It is unlikely that practical or useful advice in most situations, but you can of course try it.
Security updates sometimes holes patch XP and when security holes are patched (and XP is "tighter"), affliction can no longer do what is done, things to happen are no longer allowed to happen as a result of the strengthening of security, the system has now a new problem (especially when it initializes more) , and it seems that install updates broken system while in fact, it's just a coincidence.
Another thing that can happen is that the Microsoft updates will change or update certain critical files on the XP system.  Depending on what your software antivirus or antimalware software is, these programs can interpret the new or updated files to day as being a threat or somehow infected and quarantine (effectively delete) files it thinks are wary.
The next time you restart your system, you'll have some sort of a problem, or you do not start if the files are missing.  Once more, the problem is not with the updates, it's another condition on your system with your antivirus or antimalware programs you beautiful little (they could be aware of what like the new look of Microsoft files).
You may have seen some or heard talk about some of these kinds of people, but not too intellectually stimulating general or scenarios of error after update:
NTLDR is missing or corrupt, ntdetect.com is missing or damaged, ntoskrnl.exe is missing or damaged, hal.dll is missing or corrupt, etc.
These types of errors are usually very easy to fix, but if you don't know what's happening, the temptation is to do a repair installation, or if none of these kinds of things are really necessary, completely reinstall your XP.  I have never done a system restore, a repair install or reinstalled XP in my life to solve any problem (but I did the process for practice).  These things are simply not options with me.
Given that Microsoft sends many updates on the second Tuesday of each month (they call it "Patch Tuesday"), this means that the or to the second Wednesday of each month there is an increase of 'problems' in the field - in particular the types of problems "my computer does not start after you install the updates from Microsoft.  That day is also known as "exploit Wednesday".
You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patch_Tuesday
It is likely that if you have a problem like this or after the installation of MS updates, someone else has also had the same problem and understood what to do about it.  A problem here, is that no one knows what is your problem.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

  • Win 7 SP1 - update of the system 4 start

    Hello

I have a problem with the update of the system on one of our ThinkPad customers.

When I try to start it, the splash screen is displayed and the suservice.exe process is started, but then nothing happens.

I followed some of the tipps, I found in this forum (disabled UAC, checked registry entries, and so on) but without success.

The behavior has not changed - update system shows the splash screen (if I click on the start the application stops responding, if I wait for the splash screen disappears after about 30 seconds)

I also uninstalled the previous installed version of system update and installed the latest version (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-73695.html) with the support of SP1.

It would be nice to get the system update working again because the customer is having a strange problem on his thinkpad - perhaps connected to lenovo apps that aren't updated (start of programs to minimize maximize randomly). Uninstalling the lenovo Toolbox has solved this problem for now, but I want to assure you that the system is up-to-date.

  • Satellite R830-143 - update of the BIOS does not support this operating system

    Hello

I received a notification via Tempro that he did not have a BIOS upgrade. I downloaded the ZIP file (bios - 20120209125153.zip), extract the package (BIOS360_EC140_WIN.exe) and ran it according to the instructions.

The package runs, give the progress bar "extract files...". ", then displays a dialogue entitled"TOSHIBA BIOS package Ver.4.1.2"that says:"this package BIOS does not support this operating system."

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit on a Satellite 830R-143 with the short part No. PT32LE

Does anyone know what is the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help...

    Hello

You have problems with the laptop?
If not then why you want to do the BIOS? Just because the new BIOS is released?
I would not change anything if my laptop is running correctly.

However, the update of the BIOS requires the VAP (value added package).
So remember that this PPV is installed correctly. If this isn't the case, so far.

  • Update of the WIN8.1 system is no longer looking

After upgrade to 8.1 I find is no longer update system by searching for it as I used to. I reinstalled it thinking uninstalled the upgrade and that it was not fixed. Lenovo Solution Center also does not appear when searched, but I don't know if he did in 8.0, because I have never searched for it.

None of them appears in the list of apps all.

    What can I do?

It is installed. I have reinstaled it twice after the upgrade to make sure.

    My solution was this:

    display folder

change the permissions, so I could write to it

paste an update of the system in the folder

change the permissions back how I found them

It now appears in the search.

I have an idea. I saw a similar problem, where something in the network settings for DNS gets screwed up. As a workaround, that's what I did:
For the network card I use, instead of using DHCP, a DNS server to use force. I used google's servers because I remember the addresses - 4.4.4.4 and 4.4.8.8. Run the system update. If this solves the problem, or if not, after having done it once, you can change it to use DHCP.

  • How to know which update causes the system crash

Can you tell us how to check the update is the culprit?

    Hi Steve,.

Inorder to know which update is the cause of the crash of the system, you can install the updates one by one. Firstly uninstall the updates that have been recently installed.

    Uninstall the update:

    1. click on start and type "update installed" in the searc box. Click on view installed updates

    2. right click on the update you want to uninstall. Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the computer.

    3. install the updates one by one.

You would get to know what update is at the origin of the disorder. You can hide this particular update.

  • A security update for the 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB976321) __Update to filter junk e-mail in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 (KB981726)

Update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB976321)
Update for the junk e-mail in Outlook 2007 (KB981726) filter

I have problems with the loading of these two updates on my computer.  Whenever I try, I get an "update failed" notice.

These are the two only updates with that never got hurt.  I have a notebook hp compaq with Windows Vista.

Flawed updates or am I doing something wrong or need to change a setting somewhere?

    Thank you, Bob
