Update Portege Z30-A-12U Win7-64 for Widi

I have the last Widi 4.2.21.0, Wireless 16.0.8.1, 1 and implemented ownloaded driver display 10.18.10.3412 23.05 for the Toshiba site. Laptop is less than 3 days. The Wifi update appears to hang when installing, i.e. he disappears after starting to install. Updated Widi fails with a message from Intel incompatibility message indicating that the Wireless driver cannot load the Widi.

An audit of the system on the Intel Web site update seems to indicate that the updated graphic driver 3412 by Intel so incompatible with Intel's Widi native program.

Otherwise, the laptop is fully updated with all Toshiba and Microsoft updates.

Toshiba/member might well want to help?

It's a great laptop if not, I recommend it without reservation.

Thank you.

  • Portege Z30 - B - WinPE LAN driver for build SCCM

    Hi all.

I just got a brilliant Z30 - B (PT251A-008002) which will become - if I can get this to work - the new workhorse for fleet work.
    Beautiful machine.

My only obstacle so far, is all first, it start WinPE in order to apply a task sequence and build of SCCM.
I found the correct LAN driver on the Intel site and applied to the boot image, but it does not work.
I need the drivers to WinPE.

The package contains Intel "WinPE" drivers, but they seem really if applied to my laptop model (if I look in the .inf file) and will not charge, I tried them anyway.

If there is a driver for this laptop SCCM package, it would be awesome.
Otherwise, just the LAN for WinPE driver would be perfect.

    Appreciate any help or advice.

    Thank you

  • Portege Z30 - B - Toshiba picture after change for Linux installation

I want to replace windows with linux (fedora I think), I did the windows image by using Recovery Media creator on USB.

So if now I will install linux I delete all the files on the SSD.
Maybe futture I want to reuse windows, can I return to original state by using this USB?

If I install this linux, what happens with toshiba tools accessed through the BIOS/UEFI?

Where can I get windows CDkey?

    Thanks for the help!

    BTW: great laptop!

can I go back to original state using this USB?

Yes, recovery would fix the laptop back to factory settings.

If I install this Linux, what happens with Toshiba tools accessed through the BIOS/UEFI?

I'm afraid that I'm not sure what you mean exactly with Toshiba tools accessed through the BIOS...

Toshiba tools do not support Linux... you can install Linux but Toshiba software wouldn't. But you can still access the F2 BIOS support and turn the device

  • Re: Portege Z30 - A - Bios update 3, 80-WIN using Win 7 64 bit

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba Portege Z30 - A
Maybe someone was able to perform the bios upgrade in windows 7 64 bit?

    @tomek_1

May I ask if you get an error message trying to update the BIOS?
The downloaded BIOS package contains the exe to 3, 80 - WIN_ECB1.40.
It is also a zipped folder. You can unzip the file using WinRAR or WinZip software.

After that, you will get 16 files. I found the AutoExec file that seems to be the file that starts the BIOS update procedure.

  • What is the number of keyboard for Portege Z30-A-1E5 part?

    Hello
I want the Toshiba Portege Z30 A 1E5, but is apparently available for purchase of the German and Austrian sellers with the QWERTZ keyboard. I would like to buy an and Exchange on the keyboard AZERTY or QWERTY (UK).

However, I spoke with a company that and they can't confirm that they can get a part unless I can provide a reference number of keyboard (they also cannot give me a quote without it), but this number does not seem to be easy to get their hands on without actually having the computer and take off the keyboard and research under! I feel a little nervous about spending so much money when there's a chance that I won't be able to reverse the keyboard.

So my question is, can someone tell me what the part number of the keyboard is for the a-z30-1e5 portege?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Kate

    Hi, Kate

I m wondering why you want to buy a Portege Z30-A-1E5 that isn't available in the United Kingdom?
The notebooks are pre-installed with a Windows system in different languages. In the case of Portege Z30-A-1E5 available in Germany, the system language would be German.
The keyboard also supports a different layout.

Portege Z30-A-1E5 was equipped with a processor i7, SSD 512 GB and 16 GB of RAM disk.
Very similar Portege laptop, Z30 - has - 1 6 was released in the United Kingdom. Its preinstalled with the Windows system in the English language and English keyboard layout.
Of course, the hardware specs are a little bit lower (256 GB SSD drive and 8 GB of RAM) but I think that this could be improved is much easier to replace the keyboard.

However, where you can buy the Portege Z30-A-1E5, I recommend contacting the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country for replacement keyboard. Guys could control the keyboard of Toshiba law and could perform the replacement.

Just a note: the replacement must be performed by service provider authorized because of the validity of the guarantee. The replacement must be performed by an approved engineer to keep the warranty valid.

  • Portege Z30-a-1E1 - WIFI connection only 150Mbps

    Hello

Today, I received my Toshiba Portege z30-a-1e1 running Win7. I've updated all the drivers, firmware and of course Windows itself. Unfortunately the WiFi only connects up to 150 Mbps (router configured to 5 GHz only, 40 MHz wide only, only N and auto channel selection, WPA2 Personal). Other laptops at home are connecting with up to 260Mbps (even 7 Asus F8v). Portrege shows that it is connected with the 802.11n standard.

Any suggestion that I can do to activate the higher speed connectivity.

    Kind regards
    Blazej

    Hello

150 megabits per second transfer is not a bad value for 802.11 WLan N standard.
WLan highest transfer rate depends strongly on factors such antenna Wlan, WLan miniPCI and environment module.

Wikipedia gives this info on the standard 802.11 N standard:
… Assuming that the operating parameters equal to an 802.11 network g reach 54 megabits per second (on a single channel of 20 MHz with a single antenna), an 802.11n network can reach 72 megabits per second (on a single 20 MHz with a single channel antenna and ns 400 guard interval); of 802.11n speed can go up to 150 megabits per second, if there are no other shows Bluetooth, oven microwave or WiFi in the area using two channels of 20 MHz 40 MHz mode. If several antennas are used, then 802.11n can go up to 288 megabits per second mode of 20 MHz with four antennas, or 600 megabits per second in mode to 40 MHz with four antennas and 400 ns guard interval...

By the way: you can check additional WLan module settings in Device Manager-> properties-> Advanced tab

  • Portege Z30 / driver Audio Replicator + Touchpad scroll problems

    Hello.

I bought a Z30 and I'm pretty happy with it that I worked for years with the Thinkpads (+ Dock)
but there are a few light (more or less can be addresses as a driver) questions that I discovered.

    Notice: I use Win7 64.

    (1) with the Replicator Docking Station, I'm not able to remove the USB Audio device is currently running.
As you play a video or music. -J' looked for a newer driver (from C-MEDIA) as the standard Microsoft Driver may not be the best choice but I have found NO Win7 drivers for this device. The pilots of C-MEDIA only I found is Win8.

    (2) ALPS Touchpad (pilot)... EH... the material error only on this model really seems to be the touchpad. It is quite difficult to click on buttons AccuPoint (those under the keyboard) and drivers of touchpard are not flexible somehow. Gestures are not actually enforced as it should... seems to be as ALPS had to work on without a lot of time. Synaptics would have been a much better choice.
The driver cannot be adjusted to speed with scroll gestures and by default is AVERAGE... really ridiculous WAY to fast. In short, it is unusable for regular use. That the effects of tape, the gesture with two fingers and also the gesture of circle. He is desperately missing from a slider to change speeds. Or at least some indication of registry settings.

Also please advice DAPS to add finger 2 tap as a regular feature in the driver. It can be used without any problem after minor registry change and it works without any problem.

    (3) in the manual NFC is listed, but I have not found ANY Z30 Z40 (Tecra) model has / contain probably the NFC module. -I've seen in some photos the flexband connector (must be for NFC) above the battery is actually present. -There will be a few spare parts (Please give me the ID number /) in the future?

    (4) smart card reader driver problem: I'm using the latest drivers and after some time and sleep (with Intel Rapid Start) the player first must be deactivated and reactivated to rework. certutil.exe - scinfo unresponsive until I have disable and re-enable the device.

    (5) I am absent in BIOS/UEFI to exclude startup devices. -This is normally a must have feature.

I think that the user manual contain parts which refers to different models of Toshiba as Portege Z30-A/Z30t-A / Satellite Z30-A/Z30t-A

Some models are equipped with an NFC function, but can not say with certainty what models support this feature exactly.
It turns out that in many cases the m2 additional connector be responsible for these additional modules.

Regarding the mode of UEFI: check if the BIOS update would add it. Some portable computers taken over this function after that the BIOS updated.

  • Portege Z30-C-12Z cam does not work with Win 10

    Hello!
I have a problem with my Portege Z30-C-12Z. Camera in win10 does not work.
Error code: 0xA00F4273. Have tried all the following steps: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...0-71c220c123a9 and like many more check the BIOS etc.

According to me, I tried and everything, checked it please help!

    Try this:
Type of storage in the search window and go to the storage system settings page. Make sure that the economy sites point to existing folders.
I moved the files on a SD card and the camera could not find the folder of photos. Also, I've seen the suggestion to check that the folder of photos contains the security settings to allow access.

If still no good, remove the driver of the webcam from the Control Panel, then let Windows Update to install a driver for the webcam update.

Reinstall the camera application can also help.

  • Portege Z30 16 GB with high speed Port Replicator III and two monitors - resolution

I have a Portege Z30 with 16 GB of Ram, connected to a Toshiba high speed Port Replicator III which is connected to two monitors running in mode extended.

The monitor attached to the first section of the video is 1920 x 1200 running.
However the second monitor is only show support for a maximum of 1280 x 1084.

The monitors are identical, and both are connected by DisplayPort cables.

I tried to lower the resolution and save the settings on the first monitor to see if it offered options on the second monitor, but the options remained the same.

At this point, I have narrowed down to 1280 x 1024 so that it conforms to all the monitors but would like to a plus-res solution.

Does anyone know if there is a fix/work-around for this?
If this is a hardware limitation, has anyone tried a USB 3 to DisplayPort adapter in a similar configuration?

    Thank you!

At the same time using two displayports?
I wonder how it is possible, because of my knowledge it is not possible... as far as I know the Port Replicator III supports two DisplayPorts but you could choose and use one of them...

In any case, you can use both with a lower resolution, I guess that this problem can be caused due to incompatible display drivers.
I suggest you to uninstall reinstall or update the display drivers and check if it helps

  • Portege Z30-A-183 - data Erase finger finger

    Hello

    I have a Portege Z30-A-183.
First of all, I used it with W7 and I recorded 3 fingers in the biometric fingerprint sensor.

After that I updated to W8.1 but I have not deleted the scanned data of the fingers.

W8.1 I haved comand to again record the data of my fingers, but the software says that it is not possible beacause in the memory of the sensor data of my fingers.

I have haved read that these data are in a non-volatile memory on the sensor.

How can I erase that data?

    Thank you

    Hello

Yes fingerprint information is not saved on the hard drive (HDD) on your computer, but on some the chip.

Usually the imprint must be removed using the utility of fingerprints, but if this does not work after the installation of the new operating system, I recommend you go back to the previous state before changing the system and use the fingerprint software which has been used for the registration of fingerprints.

    Details here:
    http://www.MyToshiba.com.au/support/items/FAQ/386

But where the fingerprint would not work even using the version of Win 7, I think that this only Toshiba authorised service provider would be able to remove fingerprints already recorded.

  • How downgrade the BIOS on Portege Z30 - B?

    Hi all

I updated the BIOS on my laptop Z30-B-119, and it is much worse than the original BIOS, so I want to downgrade it.
There is no way to save the original BIOS during the update and the previous BIOS is not available on the site.

Someone has the original BIOS and knows how to extract?

Maybe someone knows how to contact Toshiba technical team directly? (Don't see what they have implemented in new BIOS, I have no hope they read on this forum or user opinions).

If you're wondering why I want to downgrade and what's wrong with him, see below for an explanation.

I was convinced that the new BIOS might resolve the problem with the fan, which works well too early, but it turned out they made much worse! The fan will now light at 42 °. Seized 50 °, which was already a Toshiba engineers stupid choice, provided that the side of the CPU temperature is 105 °, so that they could keep the laptop quiet at least until 60 °, especially as many people's complaint of the fan in this model. Instead, Toshiba has done the opposite and lowered the temperature even more.

How foolish choice their engineers do, I will never buy another Toshiba and will not recommend anyone buy their products. But since I have already made the mistake one bought a Toshiba laptop, I hope that I will be able to downgrade the BIOS or contact them to request an update.

Let me know if you know how to do it.

  • Portege Z30 - I am unable to send SMS

I have a Portege Z30-A-13F. On the previous Portege, Ericcson device shipped, I used the Toshiba Wireless Manager and the SMS from Toshiba utility in access card for messages (SMS).

Currently, with the integrated chip of Sierra, I am able to access the network, but there is no interface for SMS on the AirCardWatcher tool.

The Wireless Manager does not work (I think it only works with Ericsson devices).
Is it possible to use the SMS with this computer?

    Thank you very much

AFAIK this is regardless if the laptop supports the Ericson or the Sierra 3 G module.

The Toshiba Wireless Manager should work fine in two modules.

Check this document... He explains how to set up and establish a 3G connection via the Manager preinstalled Toshiba wireless.
