  Yes, it's actually a requirement for OpenCL to oil painting.

  It requires 1.2 OpenCL

  If your graphics card supports OpenCL support, it should work.

  Oil paint has been removed in 2014 of Photoshop. You can download Photoshop CC (previous version) or CS6, and use the oil paint filter. You can have both versions of Photoshop on your computer.

  Hello, can someone help me to explain why the oil paint filter is always gray in my version of photoshop CC 2015 update.  I tried to update several times to see of it will appear after update and restarted my pc but it still isn't available.  It says I have the latest version.

  Don't forget that opencl is checked. If it is grayed out and you can't, something in your card is less than the needs.

  You uncheck help > OpenCL leInfosection system that OpenCL meet the minimum specs for the oil painting.

  I suspect that your problem is that the installer of the action is not compatible with Photoshop CC2015. Modern versions of Photoshop do not use the old Extension Manager and so if the developer has not updated their actions, you will not be able to use them. I tried to find your action but it seems around a bit, but it seemed likely

  You must have a graphics card supporting OpenCL and CC 2015.1.2. If this isn't the case, update the driver software of your card or in the case of double cards, see that Photoshop uses the high-performance card.

  Go to Photoshop and running the GPU preferences, click Advanced, and check on OpenCL.
