Update the Bios to F1 problem. C the HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook (QJ785AV #ABA) running Win7 (64)

To try to resolve some problems, that I pointed out, HP (by e-mail) Technical Support told me to update my bios and provided a link to do this. Utility Wizard help indicated 1F. B has been installed; the description accompanying the linked file is 1F.C.

I downloaded the file, closed other programs, then run the file using administrator mode. After a few moments, the PC restarted. When I checked then the theaters help, there still reported that 1F. B has been installed. I ran the executable file again and seen on screen for messages. There is no error message. The system restarted, however the Assistant to help still reports it as 1F.B.

I don't know if it's important but: Although this update of the Bios on the support page of the HP web site for my computer model, it does not appear as an action item when executing Tune Up from HP.

Should what steps I take in order to successfully install the newer version of the Bios?

[Since this is an obvious question, let me say: I have reported what happened to the HP support (by e-mail).] In their next response, there was no follow-up on this point. In my next response, I asked specifically this update failure, but their response has completely ignored the problem.]

This is the link of BIOS that you use correct: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-115758-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4063&product=5171043&sw_lang=

If so, try the device, then execution of the BIOS updated new cyclical food.  Cycle of power, just remove the battery and the AC adapter / CC and let rest for a minute, then reinsert the battery and the AC adapter / CC and turn on.

    Hello:

It is also easy to install a hard drive in your laptop.

Go to this link and enter the product number. Then, you will be directed to support and driver page for your laptop.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/siteHome?lc=en&DLC=en&cc=us

On the right side of the page, there should be a link to manuals. Click on that and click on maintenance and care guide. Chapter 4 normally provides the procedures for removal and replacement of equipment.

Many products are on the label as well as the serial number.

Do not throw coins out of the current hard drive. You will need to transfer them to the new hard drive.

You will also need to reinstall the operating system using recovery discs.

  • Problems upgrading RAM on Pavilion DV7 Notebook PC

I know that it is an old machine, but still good.

I have the original 4 Mb RAM installed and trying to update this to 8 MB.

I installed a single module of 8Gb, DDR3 PC3-12800, which seems to be supported according to the carrier material online for this machine.  I see that this RAM is seen in the system BIOS and memory test BIOS passes; However, when I boot to Windows, I get a blue screen that provides actionable information... just a hexadecimal error code.

I tried the SIM in the two RAM slots with the same effect.

The RAM I am using is a new module from PNY PC3-12800, spec'd to work in 1066 and 1333 and 1600 MHz and a 1.5V SIM.

    Please help if possible...

    Thank you

    Hello

    The book says:

    2 the customer-accessible/extendable SODIMM slots

    Memory DDR3, 1 333 MHz
Support dual channel supports up to 8 GB of RAM in the following configurations
system memory total of 8192 MB (4096 MB × 2, both channels)
    Memory ● 6144 MB (2048 MB × 1 + 4096 MB × 1) total system
    Memory ● system total of 4096 MB (2048 MB x 2, dual-channel)
    ● 3072 MB total system memory (2048 MB × 1 + 1024Mo × 1)
    2048 MB total ● system memory (1024Mo × 2, both channels)
    2048 MB total (2048 MB × 1) ● system memory

Now you put 8 GB in a slot then it's not going to work. You have to put 2 x 4 GB. You can use 1.5V, on this machine, 1.5V RAM will use a bit more power and more hot, that's all.

    Kind regards.

  • Keyboard problems - the circumflex accent keeps jumping around while I type! HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC

Product name: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC

    Product number: B1W89EA #ABU

    Operating system: Windows 7 64-bit

I have made no recent changes.

    Problem:

Everything by typing the caret keeps jumping to the top of the screen so that the text I'm in the mid typing eventually disappear to a random position longer than the top of the page, I already typed in the middle of the text.

For a few weeks, I assumed that it was just me slipping, as I only started using the shortcut ctrl + arrow keys to scroll the text easier. However, I am becoming very sure that this is not the case because it happens to average flow by typing quite normal (i.e. not involving not the arrow keys at all!).

I didn't have this laptop last summer, but I'm a finalist uni and REALLY rely on my laptop. I type a lot, and it's really annoying and inconvenient

  • Change in the sensitivity of touch-pad on the HP Pavilion dv7

    Hello

I have problems with the sensativity to my touchpad, which seemed to start occurring after only a windows update on a week ago. My touchpad is now ultra sensative and I only need a glance eye a hand on it while typing and either the cursor moves and reposition in some random text, or things will be accidentally open etc. etc. I also noticed that the buttons left click and right at the base of the touchpad have now exchanged in functions, IE left click now acts as the right click and vice versa (what happened also the mouse after the update, but that could be fixed).

I entered the "Control Panel" and searched under the 'mouse' - but there is no option of adjustment of the device, or whatever it is to deal with an issue related to touch.

I noticed that there is a problem with a few other users, which has been fixed by downloading the latest version of the Synatpics software. However, I'm not too sure that my laptop is using this software - I can't find "Synaptics" under my "programs and features".

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! The details of my laptop are as follows:-

    HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC
    Product number: XB100UA #ABA

    64 bit

    Windows 7

    Hello

Synaptics is listed as the driver software for your laptop, so first of all, try to download and install the latest version of the present on the link below.

    Installer driver Synaptics.

If it installs Ok, restart the computer, and then see if you have the options to configure the device as described in document here.

    Hello

If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7.  Download the ISO relevant among the links below.

    Windows 7 32 bit

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  One time created, or if you already have this, typing away at the esc key when you launch Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Insert the rescue CD.  Select boot options (usually f9), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.  You can also get a prompt to "Press any key to" continuous - it if requested.

When loading, select repair your computer and choose the command prompt.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

Remove the rescue CD and try to restart the laptop.

  • Radeon AMD in Pavilion dv7 notebook driver problem

I have a pavilion dv7 notebook and for a few months, I had problems with my graphics driver.

It began with a notice that my license was expired, so I went on the AMD website and tried to install the update. I ran dxdiag to find tool that I use an AMD Radeon HD 6620 G graphics card. I could not find my product on the list to manually install the update, so I tried the Downloader tool from amd driver and he had a problem of recognition of my graphics card. I then tried to update with the help of Support HP and that seemed to work for a while.

Yesterday my screen changed the lowest resolution and a notice came it was not recognizing my graphics driver. Yet once, I tried to update manually from the AMD Web site. When this does not work I downloaded the driver AMD Downloader and after installing everything he said is that "your computer does not contain a correct graphics card" and closed the program.

I am lost at this point uterally, and any help would be greatly apreciated.

    WARNING *.

This is NOT official HP customer service and I, like most other people on this forum do not work for HP. It is a forum for users of peer-to-peer supported for class for the HP consumer products. HP maintains no official presence on this forum and it is unlikely that HP will respond in an official capacity. Response of an employee of HP represents his own opinion and not that of HP.

AMD does not support the graphics system from HP to address personalized and won't provide any drivers for it. As a general rule, HP does not provide "routine maintenance" updates and usually only releases updates to fix known problems. You could take the computer to a professional, however they will be able to do anything more than I suggested and maybe even not so much than that.

Installation Windows 10 leads following on the Windows Update screen:

Windows 10 could not be installed

We could not update the system reserved partition.

    What now?

    It worked despite me:

Don't enter the right amount of space between "/" s, skipped the part attrib by accident, and when I couldn't find the file Explorer options moved the command chkdsk.  As it was for Windows 7 to 8 figurative later may not be necessary.

Installation failed with code C1900101 (if the memory.)  Seen people on other boards with driver issues, I have disconnected my external monitor and was able to install.

    All right, so thanks.

  • Problems with HP laptop Pavilion dv7-5004tx with the sound and video is this laptop being recalled?

    Hello I desperately need help.

I have a laptop HP Pavilion dv7-5004tx, which is about a month.

It's a really highy specced machine, 8 GB mem 1 GB card video etc.

The problem is that when it video or audio playe he stutter along. I sent to hp about this problem and they do not come back to me? It is currently running windows 7 64 bit home edition.

The model number does not exist when I search the site of HP?

I noticed on some laptop computer review sites that it was be recalled, but it was the only information I could get. No specefics.

I would really appreciate help from anyone out there? It seems as if HP tries to hidden it? There is no information about this laptop on any one of these sites (that I could find) and model number doesent exist on their site either.

I think I have found a solution to my stuttering audio and video playback. I disabled the HP 3d drivegaurd software and so far it seems fine. After a search in any of the HP forums support I discovered a number of people have had similar problems with various portable computers HP.

The solution seems to be to disable the car care software? HP aware of this and they do nothing to solve the problems with the drivegaurd software?
