Four Office 2003 security updates will not install
I have four absolutely the Office 2003 security update will not be installed. I tried all the solutions I could find so far short of uninstalling and reinstalling Office. I am Windows 7 64-bit and many of the solutions I found reference XP or Vista, although I don't know how much difference that makes at this point. The updates are KB2289163, KB2284695, KB244978 and KB2466074. Other updates have succeeded since they refused to install after the download, but these four still just won't do.
What are the error codes that are specific to these four Office updates?
Have you tried the advice of the PA bear? You could start a free Windows Update support, but it would be more efficient to just reinstall Office 2003 time.

Microsoft Update will not work
Microsoft Update will not run through Internet Explorer.
I seem to encounter two different errors and there seems to be no trend about which error appears where or when or why.
One is 0x800A138F: the site has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view.
I don't remember exactly what it was or said, but it was similar.
I tried the solutions so far:
-restart the computer, internet, etc.
-added the Windows Update and Microsoft Update for Trusted Sites (I did years ago)
-reset of Trusted Sites as the Internet zone settings
-connected Microsoft Fix - It here: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_update/en-us
-a attempted to run the windowsupdate.diagcab from here: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/windows-update-issues?wa=wsignin1.0
As with many other users of this forum, I can't run this .diagcab file. Looking at the many messages on this file, no one has yet solved anything. It seems that Microsoft has yet to recognize or acknowledge that they're providing a tool that is unusable. I hope I've provided enough information to lead to a resolution. I also sent a report through the Fix - It tool when it has not changed anything.
Hello
Please go to the Microsoft Community Forums. You did changes to the computer before the show?I suggest to refer to the links and follow the steps in the articles:Error message when you search for updates on the Windows Update site: "0X800A138F: there are no updates available at this time."WARNING: Reset Internet Explorer settings can reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings.Note: You should not turn off Windows Firewall unless you have another firewall enabled. Turning off Windows Firewall may make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers.I hope this helps. -

KB2656353 security update will not install on my Windows XP despite many attempts
This automated update will not install on my XP PC. Many other updates, before and since that have installed successfully. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you.
Salvation of the heartbeat,
I'm Kosh, although I use a quote from PA bear instead of writing a separate response (and I knew you meant) - but what is important, is that I'm happy that it worked and glad you are facing up and running.
You are very welcome - it was my pleasure.
Thanks for the comments - it is most appreciated.
Good luck and best wishes!

Original title: extended error code = Oxfof4
I have a couple of different symptoms. My laptop acts like it doesn't even have wireless capabilities although the exact model the same sitting next to her was a strong wireless signal (I still had internet capability on this laptop also). In addition, my windows update will not be installed. I checked "Event Viewer" in system tools and have all sorts of errors. Error service Control Manager, "Warning b57w2k", code error Windows Update Agent and more. Still, the laptop doesn't move and accesses files, but no internet. I scanned with AVG and Malwarebytes 0 infection. Uugh! Any suggestions?
Many laptops have a switch that turns on or off the wireless radio. This can be a physical switch somewhere on the laptop or a combination of the Fn key and one of the F keys. Read the user manual for the laptop for more details.
The warning includes "b57w2k" seems to be linked to a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller (not wireless, wired). You can click the copy (just below the up/down arrows) on the property sheet for the event and paste the content in your next post here.
In general, the report that you have 'all kinds of errors' in Event Viewer is not very useful. We do not understand what you're watching.
