Updated Windows Installer not updates

I am running Windows 7 Home 64.   I am able to search for updates and a list of available updates.  When I try to install them they pretend to be installed but not installed.  I tried the difficulty of updating Windows, but it has not repaired Windows Updater.  How can I solve this problem?

Please consider running Disk Cleanup, "Cleaning Windows Update" option. This operation requires a reboot that you won't be prompted to enter.

Best regards, VZ

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum.

Nowadays, most (if not all) laptops do not come with recovery media (CD/DVD, etc...)

Computers are equipped with discs hard (or SSD) that contains the two operating system (primary partition) and hidden recovery partition. Users can boot from these recovery (instead of primary) partitions and restore the default settings (for example in the infection by the virus or if corruption of Windows).  The user can also use the built-in software and can make a backup of recovery (on DVD or USB key). Here is just one example of how this can be done:

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=bfn1IGP-TWC

Unfortunately, as you install another operating system (Linux-based) and that you have formatted the drive HARD/partitions, these partitions of recovery very probably are no longer present. In this case, you can take the path of the long (er). You need to buy HP recovery for your computer media.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03833718

Please, contact the nearest HP Office-> http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

and ask the agent (via call phone/chat/email) to guide the recovery disc for your computer purchase. They are generally cheap and arrive quickly on.

Once you receive a recovery media (DVD), follow these instructions to recover your machine with Windows 8:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03489643

    Choose->

Grab your laptop of HP-> restore recovery disks

  • Windows Installer does not.

How can I fix the problem of having my Windows Installer not installed correctly?

    Hi Thomas,

Thanks for posting your question in the community of Microsoft Windows. I understand that you are facing problems with Windows Installer. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing. I will definitely help you with this problem.

To help you suggest several steps to solve the problem, I would appreciate it if you could answer the following questions:

    1. What is the error message that is accurate or complete?

    2. have you made any recent hardware or exchange of software on your computer before the show?

    3. when exactly you receive the error message?

    4. do you have problems in installing or uninstalling any software application?

Please follow the steps below and check if that helps.

    Method 1:

Unregister and register again the installer of Windows:

    (a) click Start, click run, type MSIEXEC /Unregister. and then click OK. Even if you do it right, it may seem that nothing is happening.

    (b) click Start, click run, type MSIEXEC/REGSERVER, and then click OK. Even if you do it right, it may seem that nothing happens, or you can briefly see an hourglass. After you run this command, the operation is complete.

    Method 2:

    Restart the Windows Installer service:

    a. click Start, click run, type services.msc and press on Enter.

    b. right-click on Windows Installer and click restart (if reboot option is not highlighted, click on Start).

    For reference:

Error "Windows Installer service could not be accessed" occurs when you try to add or remove a program in Windows XP or Windows Server 2003:

    Hello..

  • Cannot install the update - Windows 7 64 bit (windows installer error - program might not work)

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I'm unable to install updates for iTunes (last successful update was my PC itunes 12.2.2.25 64 bit). The error message I get when you try to run the downloaded exe file from apple is: 'there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your supplier of staff or the package of support ". Please indicate what the problem is and how I can fix. I am not able to backup or synchronize my devices (for example iphone 6 sec) over to my PC as it is said that iTunes must be 12.3 or higher. Thank you - Bryan

Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Control Panel, and then reinstall iTunes.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

  • iTunes update errors with the following message appears: there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the set up did not complete as expected.

    iTunes error update

I am trying to install an update to iTunes on my laptop and find the folowing part-way through the installation error:

"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the set up did not complete as expected. Contact your provider to support personal or package. »

I got iTunes for 3-4 years now and have always been able to install updates successfully, so don't not sure what is the problem.

I tried msconfig and changed the boot process, so it includes all of the non-Windows elements, as suggested on the Microsoft Web site, but that has not worked.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

The instructions were to contact the vendor of the package. This isn't iTunes, Microsoft.
