Upgrade HP Dv6 6150us windows 8

It would be prudent to upgrade my dv6 6150us (I'm pretty sure that this is the model) to windows 8. My hard drive has been neglected and I thought it would be as good a time as any to upgrade. It is not the drivers of windows 8 for her, but I was wondering if there is anyway to get windows 7 drivers working with her. Thanks for any help I get.

Hello:

You can use all the drivers and the software of the dv6t - 6 c that has the same hardware as yours.

http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4132&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=5214352

Your model uses the AMD graphics driver only.

Note that if you upgrade to W8.1, I'm sure the graphics do not work anymore, I know not all pilot W8.1 for the graphical installation.

DO NOT USE ANY BIOS OR THE FIRMWARE OF THIS MODEL FILES

    Any suggestions?

After an hour of time I will ever come back that I solved the problem.

    2) update drivers for Ralink wifi adapter

Go: Right click on the wireless network connection icon: properties/Configure/tab Driverr/update driver

    (3) after a minute or two of updateing the PC reports that the driver has been updated

    (4) pull the network cable and turn on WiFi.

What a pain in the anus,

    Anyway, as I said, corrected!

  • For HP ENVY dv6-7213nr Windows 7 USB controller

Recently, I've killed my HP dv6-7213nr Windows 8.1 want to Windows 7 Professional.

I tracked most of the drivers for it in various sites, but I still need USB controllers for her. The closest to the power cord works, but that's all.

It's a USB 2.0 controller.  I looked everywhere I know online and found nothing on this subject.  Any help?  I have seen a lot of post on the decommissioning and the difficulties in finding different drivers, it's a pain.

Thanks for any help in advance!

  • I am considering upgrading my laptop for Windows 8. What can I expect if I do this?

You may want to consider upgrading your laptop for Windows 8, but don't know what to expect or if it is compatible or not.

If you are in this category, then you will find this site useful.

It will give an idea of what to expect with possible isuses and a link to a tool for verification of compatibility at the bottom.

Blink on following: HP has tested my computer with Windows 8? at the bottom of the site and enter your product number.  This will tell if the system has been tested for Windows 8, and if he can or can not get updates driver and software Windows 8.

I hope that the site will help those who are considering upgrading to Windows 8.

  • No Bluetooth after upgrade to 8.1 Windows - model 1104TX (ENVY m6)

    Hello

My system is HP Envy m6 1104tx. It came with Windows 8 (64-bit) preinstalled and everything was going well until I chose to upgrade to 8.1 Windows.

After checking with CompMgmt.msc, I found that I had 3290 RaLink 802.11 Wi - Fi adapter. Just below NICs, I have "Other devices" and under "Bluetooth Controller" with a yellow exclamation mark on the subject. I tried to update the drivers, but it says "Windows failed to install the controller bluetooth"(pas pu trouver pilote logiciel pour votre périphérique). "»

I've updated almost all possible device drivers, but this 'Bluetooth controller' still shows a yellow exclamation mark on it.

Also in CompMgmt.msc I can't find "Bluetooth" or "Bluetooth Module" but on the contrary, there is a 'profiles Bluetooth device' and inside this 'Bluetooth Interface Driver profile '. I tried to update, but the result was still once, as mentioned above.

So, how to solve this? How to make implementing Bluetooth on my m6 desire?

PS And yes I ran Technical Assistance from HP, but it says everything is fine. And in reality it is not, Bluetooth does not.

    RENJ

    Thanks Makachaka,

I really appreciate your time and your help. However your suggestion came a little too late.

I had already solved my problem with Bluetooth using the instructions contained in the following web page:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows8_1-hardware/Bluetooth-systemthreadexceptionnothandled-blue/e9e410d4-ef73-40C2-9e4e-b05c5d604c6c?LC=2057&auth=1

The gap only I took while troubleshooting from the procedure described in the page Microsoft above was that I didn't not apply the patch from Intel Bluetooth. The rest was exactly as described. Problem solved for me.

@Makachaka: thanks and have a great year!

  • creating recovery media after upgrade to 8.1 window

Hello friends. I have a lot of confusion. I bought a laptop on December 2012 with window 8 preinstalled and created the recovery media about 6 or 7 months later. And now, I upgraded my system to window the window store 8.1. And now again I would create a recovery media for windows 8.1. So my question is if I create recovery media on a flash drive usb and if in the future I want to reset my pc or reinstall my system, I'll make window 8 or 8.1 on my system. I'm not a computer expert. If anyone can help me please. Thank you.

    Hello:

    You will get Windows 8.

If you want to do a recovery W8.1 image you can do the following...

You can create a system image in W8.1 and save it on a portable hard drive or set of DVD as you might in W7.

Instead of making a bootable cd as in W7, you need a boot flash drive boot. You can use a flash drive to very small capacity (256 MB) for the startup recovery W8 flash player.

Check out these links for more information.

Create the image of the W8.1 system:

    http://www.hanselman.com/blog/CreateACompleteSystemImageBackupWithWindows81AndFileHistory.aspx

Create bootable W8.1 flash player to access the system image.  Don't forget, you can use this drive, you can boot from it and access the system image you created on DVD or a portable USB hard drive.

  • Cannot set UEFI after upgrade to 8.1 Windows (P6 HP 2364ea)

    Hello

I recently bought a HP P6 (Pavilion) 2364ea tower that came with Windows 8 is installed. When buying I could enter the parameters of UEFI at startup by pressing one of the function keys. Now that I have upgraded to 8.1 Windows no splash screen or UEFI settings are available when booting - any function keys I type.

I tried to reboot to the Windows Advanced Boot-> troubleshoot-> advanced options-> settings for UEFI firmware road but the PC starts just to a white screen with no hard disk activity. I then reboot into Windows 8. The same thing happens if I try to change the windows startup options.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    Gary

I have now managed to access the UEFI settings using an old VGA monitor to start instead of my screen thanks to a post of dave2009 on another thread. For anyone having the same problem here is his message:

I hope it will work for you or someone else. I felt the same way - try to access the settings of the PC UEFI firmware and got a screen empty every time. Tried the ridiculous press F10 every second. Nada.

Fortunately, I came across this post that put me on my solution. It's actually the BIOS could not display on my monitor (s).

The BIOS has been there all along, but I didn't know it.

My setup is a HP Envy with Intel HD graphics office built in connected with DVI to HDMI cables to 2 HP w2338h monitors that have a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 or more. Solution? Unplug everything and plug an older monitor CRT HP with a VGA to DVI. Seriously. My new HP desktop cannot display the HP BIOS on my HP flat screens. Now, I'm not going to dig into this but I suspect even just plug one of the flat screens equipped with a VGA connector could do the trick.

And wa - la. My firmware is not corrupt. I need not do anything crazy. I just needed to downgrade my video connectors in order to see the bios. And, now that I have my graphics card inherited here, I see this cute bootscreen of HP. Previously, black until the windows open. It's a whole new world!

I am trying to upgrade my XP to Windows 7.  I bought a licensed copy of Windows 7 with SP1 dvd but it's a udf file and I can not load.  What should I do?

  • Upgrade my XP to windows 8

I was wondering if my Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002 Service Pack 3 can support Windows 8?

You are asking the wrong question (under two different aspects).

First of all, the question is not to know if Windows XP can support another version of Windows, but if your hardware can support.

Second, there is little interest in upgrading to Windows 8, even if you could.  Not only Windows 8 quite unpopular with most of the users who have tried, but Microsoft supports only Windows 8 for 3 years after the end of support for Windows 7.

Go to the web site of the company that manufactured your computer and see if there is available for versions of Windows hardware drivers passed XP.  If this is not the case, there little interest in the pursuit of the questions (although it is possible that a newer version of Windows could operate).

You can also download and run the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant of--> http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/upgrade-assistant-download-online-faq

As far as Windows is concerned 10, if your system can run Windows 8.1, it probably could also run Windows 10, but read this--> http://www.pcworld.com/article/2951112/hardware/can-your-old-pc-run-windows-10-the-answer-will-surprise-you.html and http://www.cnet.com/how-to/what-options-do-windows-xp-and-vista-users-have-in-a-windows-10-world/

If I were you, I would buy a new computer or - if your computer manufacturer has drivers for Windows 7 - I would like to buy a copy of Windows 7 from Amazon.

  • free upgrade path - XP to Windows 7

Is there a way of free upgrade from XP to Windows 7 that Microsoft offers? kindly help.

    Hello

No, currently there is no free upgrade to XP > 7. However, it is of course possible to XP > 7 in general.

Before getting started, or before the upgrade, you'll want to go there and download the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20

Essentially, what this software is that it scans your system / inserted to see if they will work properly with Windows 7. It also checks specifically your PC hardware to see if it meets the system requirements to install on your system.

Once you know everything will run OK and to be consistent, you'll want to read this to see how to start the upgrade process real - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/help/upgrading-from-windows-xp-to-windows-7#T1=tab01

  • Can HP Mini with Windows XP - I upgrade to a supported Windows version?

I have a 210-1000 HP Mini with Windows XP Home Edition.  Given that XP is no longer supported, can I put the Mini version of Windows supported?

    Hi Runincary,

To know if your PC is capable of running Windows, you can run Upgrade Wizard of the version of Windows that you want to update your PC to. Below, I've posted links to the wizards for the version of Windows that you want to update to upgrade.

Note:  Windows Vista is always support however, sales have ended for this version of Windows.

    Windows 7 upgrade Assistant

    Windows 8 Upgrade Wizard

    Windows 8.1 Upgrade Wizard

    Hope that answers your question.
