Upgrade of RAM works only on Intel S12

I tried to upgrade the ram on my new S12 Intel. I bought a 2 GB Crucial 2 GB DDR2 667 from Newegg and during installation, the S12 will not start. After turning on, there isn't any screen. All returns to normal after removing memory. Does anyone have any ideas or other experience upgrade memory on a S12 Intel?

Thank you

Jim

I found that you can't add a 2 GB module. As noted, my S12 Intel would not start after the insertion of a 2 GB module. However, I could be upgraded using a 1 GB module.

I recently bought a Satellite Pro L300D-11O, which has a single stick of 1 GB 800 MHz RAM installed. However this RAM work only at 667 MHz. I checked this in Linux and Windows Vista.

The laptop is announced as to have 800 MHz RAM on this page:

    Can someone tell me please?

    Hello!

Now I'm a bit confused of Mr. I think you did search in the wrong user's manual because the Satellite L300D has no Intel chipset.
On the Toshiba site, you can download the manual for Satellite L300D:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online downloads support & -online download user manual

I think that your chipset only supports 667 MHz. normally the RAM always works on the highest speed that is supported by the chipset.

I bought the RAM compatible and installed, but I can not start the computer.  I get some kind of splash screen and the numbers in the upper right away at about 500 MB something tick and then stop, then nothing.  I put in our old ram - only 1 GB of total and the computer works fine.  I read in another form that I need to change the/MAXMEM in the boot.ini to 4096 but I can't because it resorts to default as soon as I press ok.
Because we have spent some money for this RAM I am resistant to him give up and return to 1 GB of RAM.
Please get back to me quickly because I don't want to have to go out this computer to someone to fix it for a lot of dollars when he could and probably is very simple

The switch/MAXMEM, it's NOT what you want.  This has nothing to do with your problem.

It is much easier to find the specs for the OEMs from companies like HP if you give the computer model rather than a code name of obscure motherboard.  Assuming that your motherboard can really take 4 GB (and the Crucial scanner is usually fairly accurate), it seems that if one or more of the new RAM sticks are bad or are not properly seated.

Assuming that your old RAM was 4 x 512 MB (info was useful, too), you know that all 4 taken work.  Just try one of the new installation RAM sticks and start the computer.  Tell him separately with each stick.  Which should allow you to determine which, if any, of the new RAM is good.  Most of the RAM comes with some kind of warranty, unless you bought the cheapest possible source.

  • HP G62 slot work only 1 RAM

I have a HP G62 laptop with two cards of 2 GB of RAM, but only one of the slots of RAM will work.  If I swap the cards up and down, they both work in the slot in the bottom, but none of them will not work in the upper housing.  Only the location of the bottom works.

I recently ordered the BIOS to the latest version.  I had the laptop completely out several times replace the paste heat on the CPU and GPU, and another slot RAM problem, it seems to work very well.

What can you do to a computer that recognizes that RAM in one of its slots?  Should I install an older BIOS?  Or probably it's a physical problem with the slot or the motherboard?

    Hello:

IMO, there is a motherboard problem and communication with this memory is bad.

The only solution would be to replace the motherboard.

  • After the upgrade of RAM Equium A100-338 runs on battery only 30 min

I've had my laptop Toshiba Satellite A100-338 for over 2 years now and the other day that I upgraded the RAM to 4 GB to 1 GB, I noticed that the battery level is low and I can't get to the 30-40 minutes out of the battery max. There generally has 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours of life on a battery fully so far

I thought that adding RAM more would make the battery last longer, but I don't know she s RAM that of done

    Any help appreciated, thanks!

In my opinion RAM upgrade cannot be responsible for the lower battery capacity. I've updated / downgraded memory on my notebooks and I didn t notice something like that.

That means when you reuse the 1 GB of RAM you can use the battery run for too long?

  • G42 - 490 YOU: what changes can I see or wait until after the upgrade of RAM?

    Hello

My PC model # is G42-490TU, processor - Intel Core (TM) i3 CPU M370,
RAM: 6.00 GB (2.93 usable), System Type: 32-bit operating system.

I've recently upgraded RAM 2.00 GB to 6,00 GB with 2.93 GB usable, that's what it shows.

I want to know if this 2.93 GB of 6,00 GB usable the correct value of the memory that is made available?

Also, I want to know what changes can I see or wait after upgrading the RAM from 2.00 to 6.00 GB where 2.93 GB is usable? How does this improve the effectiveness of my PC? Is there something that needs to be done on my own apart from adding the RAM to increase performance and the maintenance of my PC?

    Thank you best regards &,.

    Isha

The problem is the operating system of your laptop is 32-bit.

A 32-bit operating system can use @ 3.25 GB installed memory.

Install additional 4 GB to a laptop that had 2 GB was a regrettable mistake.

As long as the 4 GB memory module you have is compatible, you'd better remove the 2 GB module and put the 4 GB module in its place.

You won't find a lot of improvement with the current configuration of a 2 GB module and a 4 GB module. With this memory configuration does not work in dual channel mode.  You would be better with two modules of 4 GB, but this is only if you upgrade your operating system to a 64-bit version.

In fact, you would have improved if your OS is 64-bit. A 64-bit Windows operating system will recognize and use the installed memory.

If you really want to improve the performance of the laptop, you should consider upgrading to a SATA SSD 256 GB drive at least.

  • 1221tx dv5: Upgrade of RAM 1221tx dv5

I bought this laptop 32 bit in the year 2009 and set to level to Windows 7, so far, works well but facing a matter little in performance.

Now I want to upgrade the RAM and do not know what RAM capacity will be the best run win 7 10 whereas my current processor (Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6400).

    (1) will I go ahead upgrade with DDR2 4 GB additional RAM RAM totaling 8 GB? Or add additional 2 GB only?

    (2) install 64 - bit Windows 7 to 8 GB of RAM support?

    (3) it will give better performance to run Windows 7 or Win 10 on 32-bit?

    (4) pin 200 or 240 pin RAM?

    (5) any specific brand should I choose for compatibility?

    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards

    Raj Gupta

If you already have a single module 4 Go DDR2-800, I guess I would buy another. I would not add a 2 gig module, because who does not run in dual mode. Also the difference between 4 and 6 shows single channel won't get noticed.

32-bit to 64-bit will require a clean install and it would be the perfect time to install an SSD, incidentally.

  • Some problems with the upgrade of RAM on Lenovo ThinkPad T500?

    Hello

My laptop is Lenovo ThinkPad T500 and its main features as follows:

    -Processor Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 (2.53 GHz, 1066 MHz, 6MBL2).

    - 4 GB PC3 - 8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067 MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM).

-ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 with 256 MB.

I really need to upgrade the RAM to work with SharePoint 2010 and Windows Server 2008 R2. and my big question is:

    * How many memory locations that I have in my Lenovo ThinkPad T500?

I read on (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-55644#t) that the maximum memory size for T500 is 8 GB.

Yes, in case if my Lenovo ThinkPad T500 laptop has only two memory slots, so, I'll have to buy 2 memory cards of ThinkPad 4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 Low-halogen SO-DIMM, in order to get the 8 GB... and I have to throw my current memory cards...

    My other question is:

    * Is easy to install/remove RAM in Lenovo ThinkPad T500?

Sorry to ask the second question, but I have never dealt with before material.

    I would appreciate your inputs.

Thank you for your consideration of my request and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

The T500 has only two slots of RAM, so the upgrade to 8 GB would mean that your two existing 2 GB modules would need to be removed.

Replacement of the RAM is simple; Remove the four screws for the Palm and the locations of memory will be under the palm rest.

See the HMM for more detailed instructions: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-70068.html

  • Upgrade of RAM for Satellite Pro S300-11

    Hello
I have this netbook for two years now and I need to add more memory RAM, it has 2 GB and is capable of having up to 8 GB.
I went to two local stores to buy a memory stick, but they are not able to find my netbook to their suppliers, so that they have no idea what memory modules could go well with my pc. I know that the installed RAM module is a DDR2 at 800 MHz. So, any module of ram with these specifications should work correctly?
Another question is if my computer is able to read up to 8 GB or I have to upgrade the BIOS (I have not updated, so I have one pre-installed).
Thanks for your reply and sorry for my English!
    See you soon!

    Hi manelfera,

The laptop has Intel GM45 chipset and the chipset supports up to 8 GB of memory. This means that you can install 4 GB module in both memory slots. As you already wrote DDR2 800 MHz is the correct specification.

Theoretically, each module with this specification will work, but I recommend the purchase of high quality of Kingston for example modules. I have good experiences with this brand :)

Updating the BIOS is not necessary for the upgrade of RAM so you can keep the current version.

  • HARD drive and upgrade of RAM for Satellite A200 1AE

    Hello

I plan to upgrade my RAM and HARD drive.
I am currently using a 120 GB SATA HDD and 2x512mb ddr2 667 Mhz (out of the box state).
    My questions are:

[1] will a WD Scorpio blue work SATA II 500 GB HARD drive at 5400 RPM on my laptop? If this is not the case, what is the maximum GB for my laptop's HARD drive (if there are any)?
[2] a 2x2gb ddr2 667 Mhz will work? If not, what is the maximum?

BTW, the Specs are Intel Core2Duo 1.73 Ghz T5300's family Vista premium sp2 (preloaded) OS, BIOS Phoenix version 1.20, Chipset intel 945 (I think).

    Thanks in advance.

    > 1] will a WD Scorpio blue 500 GB 5400 RPM SATA II drive HARD work on my laptop?
It should work since the SATA controller is not limited to any size of HARD drive.

    > [2] Will work 2x2gb ddr2 667 Mhz? If not, what is the maximum?
The laptop supports Intel® 945 GM chipset. The upgrade of RAM depends on the chipset.
AFAIK the 667 Mhz Rams should be clocked at 533 Mhz
But you can upgrade it to 4 GB of RAM (2 x 2 GB)

  • Satellite Pro A200 - new RAM work together

    Laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro A200-PSAF1A-003002, I bought the year last with RAM 2x512MB that I try to update my 3 GB RAM and I bought 2 RAM KTT667D2 / 1 G & KTT667D2 / 2G Kingston memory.

I added that the 2 strips of RAM in the laptop, but it does not start. The power and the drive lights and flash for 3 times everything off. No boot. But I remove one of the sticks of RAM and it starts very well and the RAM has been upgraded in the system.

I tried with the sticks and the two slots to remove 'bad slot' ideas and a stick of RAM works in a thin slot. Paste works in slot 1 or slot 2 and stick b works in slot 1 or 2, but not both at the same time. Is it simply a setting I'm missing somewhere? I checked the BIOS version is 1.7, I need to update my BIOS? Help, please

    Thank you
    Yana

I think that the modules are not compatible together and that is the reason why each module works in each slot.

Did you buy KTT667D2/1 and KTT667D2 / 2G. Different modules of s and are not working together.
You should buy only the modules with the same specifications and capacity (for example, 2x1GB and 2x2gb).
