Upgrading computers running Windows XP that don't run Windows 7 or 8
Hello
Recently I was asked by a local company to help make their network more secure. Most of the company's computers are running Windows XP, and with the next support period, I told my client that they should probably upgrade their machines. Unfortunately, the machines are not running Windows 7 or 8, and given the constraints of cost, my client asked that the solution have nothing to do with buying new machines. The only version of Windows running on the machines that is still supported is Windows Vista, but I have not found a site that can buy Windows Vista. So, what would be the version the cheapest Windows Vista my client can use, and where I can get it? If not, are there alternatives Vista can I use on machines?
Unfortunately, the machines are not running Windows 7 or 8, and given the constraints of cost, my client asked that the solution have nothing to do with buying new machines. The only version of Windows running on the machines that is still supported is Windows Vista.
Hello
I'm sorry, but we cannot help you with Vista pricing Microsoft sells more than Vista or Windows 7 either.
You search on Amazon, etc. and take your chances that you buy not pirate software.
See you soon.

I tried to install KB974674 (restore backups in Windows XP on computers running Windows 7) on my laptop with Windows 7 starter (in Dutch), then a pop up shows saying there is an error, unspecified, 0x80004005. I just want to put the backup I did on my XP computer files (the backup contains files with the extension .dat), with windows on my new laptop backup and the backup on my external hard drive does not appear in the backup of windows on my laptop. I thought that this update would help me.
The real solution is to use Windows Easy Transfer.

Hello, I'm Michael.
I'm a guy who lives in Hong Kong, I bought a laptop that comes with Chinese traditional x 64 Windows 7 Home Preium. I want to use this laptop as a computer professional. Because I don't want to use Chinese as my default language in my computer, so I'm going to upgrade my computer I have subscribed the TechNet, so I downloaded an iso file from the Microsoft TechNet Web site. I downloaded an English x 64 to windows 7 Ultimate. I hope it would work, but an error message is skipped during the upgrade. It is said: you can do an upgrade using an installation disc that's different from the language installed on your computer. Go online to see how to install Windows 7 and keep your files and settings.I tried to press the hyperlink (go online) and it does not at all. I have to ask this question to the Microsoft Answers and see if if anyone can give come me advice because I do not want to click on the custom button because there are some files saved in my computer. So I need answers as soon as possible because I could die without a PC! Thanks for all those who read this and you time.No direct path to the evolution of the Chinese language to English. But you can upgrade your version of Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate (upgrade Express). Ultimate has support for English and a number of other languages.

my mother has two computers that are running windows 7 and she wants to give me one of them, but it first wants to transfer or share all his stuff from one to the other. We network cables and such can I connect the on computers and share information from one to the other?
Hello
To connect two computers with a cable, not a router, it must be a crossover cable.
These are special cables, but they are not expensive.(You can configure a network or a host group (see below))
Connect two computers using a crossover cable (XP - Windows 7 may be the same)

There is no free upgrade to one of them of Vista.
Windows 7:
Before purchasing Windows 7, follow these steps:
Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.
If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Can I upgrade my computer Windows Vista 32 bit to 64 bit with the specs of my computer?
Here's a question. I want to upgrade my pc to a 32-bit - 64-bit, 120-750 hdd hard drive and the RAM to 4gbs. is it possible for a 32-bit processor, 512 MB RAM oringally vista home 120hdd?
original title: everything just curious...Hello
Check with your system manufacturer (manufacturer of motherboard for custom systems) to see if your computer
can run Windows 7. If so check to see if it can run 64-bit which has higher minimum
requirements than 32-bit. Finally check to see if the hardware upgrades that you make will be
work in this computer. Don't forget if you spend a lot of money on upgrades, you may have
but could a new computer for the same price. And then you'd have two systems.Windows 7 system requirements
