USB 3.0 Desktop 3.5 inch external hard drive

How can a USB 3.0 only and a normal hard drive cannot?

Depends on what a "normal"hard drive"is.

Much video edited these days is HD or 4K.

These require the fast disks on the flow of files.

In a Word, the speed.

  • USB port recognizes the location of my external hard drive as F:. Why it does not recognize in the correct order as E:?

This question is requested based on certain issues I'm having with the Zune software. specifically in the software of pointing to the correct location for listening to music I own that was torn through CD. Currently, all the added music in this way shows the location of each song as E: in the properties of the song. I went back to the score zune software to the right location (for example settings-online collection => by adding the name of the place where the music.). The negative result is that I can't play full songs for music I own. Instead, Zune software plays the second.30 preview for each. Is this a problem of Zune, Vista or Western Digital external drive problem? Why Vista would recognize the location of the reader out of sequence. Please notify. Thank you

    Hi Freddie,.

You can try to change the E: drive letter and check.

  • External hard drives, disconnect WIFI

    HP Pavilion g7 2269WM W / Windows 8.1(64bit)

I recently bought an insignia powered USB 3.0 hub to connect 2 external HARD drives to my PC via 2 USB 3.0 ports 1.

    HARD DRIVES-

1 western Digital My Passport Ultra 500 GB

2-500 GB SATA for another laptop put in an envelope.

Both work very well plugged alone, plugged into the hub with the hub plugged on the USB 3.0 port NO.

But the second I connect the hub on a USB 3.0, wifi off, and sometimes 1 records are found.

When I unplug the hub, the wifi continues to work.

I tried to do this with the hub plugged into the power supply and no, same results.  What is the question a problem wifi? I don't understand how all this is still linked to a network connection.

    Hello, @alyusha22

It seems that when you have your external hard drive connected via usb 3.0 there is a conflict with the wireless. I will try to help you with this.

First update all the drivers that you can. You can do this with the Wizard Support HP, or from this page: drivers for laptop HP Pavilion g7-2269wm.

Other possible causes to this, is the radio frequency.

This is an Intel document that passes over the issue in depth: USB 3.0* Radio Frequency Interference Impact on 2.4 GHz wireless devices

I hope that it helps anything here.
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

Original title: ex hard drive does not work

    Hello Ellen,.

I understand that you have a problem when connecting your external hard drive to your computer. This could be a hardware or to issue drivers. It is also possible that your cable is defective. You can try to reconnect the hard drive to another USB port. If you use an external hard drive or a hard drive internal SATA cable /IDE cable.

Please, try the following and see if it helps.

    Method 1:

Run the hardware troubleshooter and check the issue.

Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter

    Method 2:

Run the fixit available at the following link.

  • 250 GB USB external hard drive is compatible with Mac OS x on an iBook G4?

    Hello

I just bought a Toshiba 250 GB Usb external hard drive because the seller advised me telling me that it works in my iBook G4 Mac OSX computer.

I made it and I see it on my desktop with a folder called System Volume Information and 2.32 GB available.

I tried to copy a file and I got a message saying that the disk is not editable.

Where can I find the instructions to initialize if it's compatible?

    Thanks in advance,

  • Satellite 1800-712 does not recognize my USB external HARD drive

    Hello

I would really appreciate the help. I own a satellite 1800-712. I have receently bought a usb external hard drive for some extra memory (IE Toshiba MK4026GAX USB Device)

When I connect it to my usb port it records any with the computer. The green light so there is power to the hard drive. The usb ports recognized of other fine features (a modem and memory stick)

I tried the external hard drive on a desktop pc and it works fine.

I have downloaded all windows xp service pack updates and updated my bios. Don't know what to do now.

Please help and thank you in advance!

    Hello

Although sometimes, I know that the OS is not able to recognize the external USB device, because the device external USB (HDD) consumes more energy than the 500mA.
The USB ports provide 500mA power and if the device needs more power so it s is not possible for the Windows operating system to recognize the external device.
You have an external power supply for the USB HDD? You should use it.

    Good bye

My desktop HP Pavilion P7-1074 4.5 years computer dropped last week. Planed to get a replacement on Black Friday or the day after Christmas. Hi @db69613,

Welcome to the HP forums! It's a great way to engage, ask questions and find resolutions by working with specialists from the community of HP. I understand that you need assistance with your desktop computer HARD drive that is connected to your laptop via the USB port. I'll be happy to help you with this.

I'm just surprised at the levels of technical knowledge and technical skills that your possession. Hats off to you for this. It was very clever of you! It has been a privilege to have shared this platform with you and work with you.

First of all, programs of a different version or windows session will not work on another computer as it was installed on the computer of origin at this time. It is an installation and application software, to the difference of the data or information that is accessible by any computer when the hard drive is connected. It is because no software installation binds the application of this specific operating system installed on this specific to the time machine.

If the computer does not and the hard drive is accessible, all the content (such as music, photos, videos, and other information are accessible), but the programs have been installed originally are not available and will not work on any other computer when it is connected to the outside.

However, if the hard drive works fine, windows is correctly installed, then the same hard disk can be installed on another PC of office and some of the programs should work ideally.

I hope this helps! Please let me know how it goes. I really hope that the issue is fixed without hassle.

  • USB 2.0 profits do not recognize the external hard drive: Matsunichi model DM189

I have a HP Pavilion dv4-1125nr, running Vista Home Premium 64 - bit with Service Pack 2. When I plug my: matsunichi dm189 60GB drive external hard - driver has not loaded - poster Device Manager as unknown device USM - works fine under xp sp3

I thought about it. If often, we try to solve the problems of jump to the 'mountain' rather than from the "mole hill" - which means find the obvious solution rather than jumping to some exotic solution.

In this case, I plug the USB cable into the hard drive: Matsunichi then plug it into a USB 2.0 on my XP desktop computer and the hard edge has been recognized and the drivers installed.

Whenever I tried to connect the hard drive: Matsunichi (already connected to the USB cable) to my laptop Vista OS based, nothing worked.

HOWEVER, I tried to plug the USB cable in the Vista OS laptop based FIRST, and then plug it: hard Matsunichi THEN push the USB CABLE, everything has worked. Vista the: Matsunichi has recognized as a USB mass storage device and loaded the driver without problem. GISH.

Logically, since the HDD: Matsunichi pulls its power through the USB 2.0 port, it simply "Boats" on the power and Vista sees the device and load a generic mass storage device driver.

Why does not load Vista as XP but requires the USB cable plugged into a USB 2.0 port 1, who knows.

  • My USB 2.0 does not detect the USB keys or external hard drives

I attach my USB mouse and it works fine but I can't detect my external hard drive or memory key USB. Why?

Try plugging a storage drive (external hard drive or USB key) and go to:
Control Panel-> administration-> computer management tools
Under, click on storage disk management
The storage drive appears in the list at the bottom right? If so, can you do a right click on it and select change drive letter and paths, and assign a drive letter.
It will now appear in desktop and when you plug it in.

If the drive does not appear in disk management, can you just tell me if it's a USB port specific, that you are having problems or if readers do not appear in one of your USB slots and also if you tried the discs in another system to make sure that they highlighted it?
