USB port speed

I need to find the speed for all ports of mu on my Compac Presarion CQ5600F. When I check the properties I can find that records are up-to-date but nothing on the port speed. Are 1,2,3?

Hello:

According to the product specifications for your PC on the link below, the back 4 are all USB 2.0.

The State in front of 2 USB and I should think that they are also 2.0 as well.

Sorry that none of the steps that you took to remedy the problem.

  • USB port high speed - not available on Tecra M1

    Hi all
I joined my new external HARD drive to my Tecra M1 and XP says I use * not *; port USB high speed.
Question: How can I switch to high speed USB port?

    Driver: Intel 82801DB/DBM USB 2.0 Hostcontroller - 24 D of Microsoft Version 6.1.2600.0 issued 1.6.2002

Thanks for the reply in advance.

    See you soon,.
    Tom

First of all, you can't 'upgrade' your internal USB port to a Highspeed USB port. This is NOT possible, but your machine must have at least 2! ports USB 2.0 capable.

I suggest you do the following: download the latest drivers for your machine on Toshiba Driver download site, install and check if the error message appears, anywhere you´re attaching your USB 2.0 device.

Usually one or 2 of these ports should be able to USB 2.0.

If still, you get the same error message then come back and give some comments, then we can discuss more about.

    See you soon

  • Satellite P10-125: speed using very slow data transfer USB ports

Every time I connect a USB device to the laptop it says "this USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a HI-speed USB 2.0 port" while I know all four USB ports on the laptop are hi speed USB 2.0 ports. BTW, I'm using Vista premium.

I need assistance because 1 and a half hours for 5 GB of transfer is simply not enough good

I'm sure that you don't have this problem using the system of operating supported Windows XP Home edition. Am I wrong?

In any case Satellite P10 only is not supported by Vista, and you will not be able to find any driver and especially the chipset driver for this laptop. What to say. stupid situation. Drive external DRIVE is connected to two or a single USB cable?

  • Ports USB Hi-Speed on Satellite P200-140

I use a P200-140 and it was announced as having USB 2.0 ports, but whenever I have something to connect to USB ports, the message appears: this device can perform faster if plug you it into a USB Port of speed Hi. This laptop is supposed to have 4 hi speed usb ports, then why can I not connect to them?

This message appears usually when you connect a high-speed USB device into a port that high speed isn t.
If you do not want to see this message every time you plug in your device, here is how get rid you of it.

    1. open Device Manager click with the right button on my computer, and select Properties.
2 from there you click on the Hardware tab, click the Device Manager button.
    3. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers icon.
    4. Select the properties of any USB universal host controller.
    5. Select the Advanced tab.
    6. check the box which says: "Don't tell me about USB errors."

However, this message should not appear as the laptop supports the USB 2.0 interface. It s high speed!
I assume that it is a bug in the windows operating system. Many people in the internet have reported this and it seems that the new installation of Windows from scratch might help.

  • Satellite L20 PSL2ZE: Identified as 1.1 instead of 2.0 USB Ports

    Model: L20 - 264 (PSL2ZE)
    OS: Windows XP Home SP2

For some reason, 2 of the 3 USB ports are identified by the operating system as USB 1.1 devices (Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller) instead of USB 2.0 (Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller). Is this as expected?

User reported this behavior after installing a few webcam drivers (summary details, apparently a Logitech QuickCam Pro).

Also, I am unable to find a suitable chipset driver package, since for this model, the driver page offers only a package Intel while device ID numbers point to ATI IXP SB400 chipset.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

The same appears in my device manager!
I have a Standard Enhanced PCI controller USB host and two inputs OpenHCD USB Host Controller Standard.
But I put t have problems with the speed of the USB or something like that

If you wish, you can remove the USB controllers in Device Manager and then restart the laptop again!

This should load the USB drivers again!

  • Tecra S1: USB Ports do not work correctly

That one of my USB ports work correctly - that next to the DVD player. The two rear appear to be defective. Sometimes, they will work, but usually isn't. I have a Microsoft Notebook Optical Mouse and when I plug it into one of the ports back, it lights or control the cursor in Windows XP or Linux, but it does not work in the port on the side.

I tried it with different settings of the BIOS for example disabling USB legacy mouse, KB and floppy and COM and parallel ports, but it did not help.

There must be some kind of life in the faulty ports, because when I plug the mouse in all running Linux (I don't know where to look for the error logs in Windows), I get a series of error messages like this:

    Hello

Try to remove all the USB ports on the Device Manager, and then restart the device. Check again the ports with different USB devices. If the result is the same, it must be a hardware malfunction. Maybe the contacts!

I'm afraid that the appliance must be sent to the service. :(

  • StorE Alu2: two ports USB ports or not?

    Hi all

I can't understand that the series of external hard drive StorE Alu2 takes 2 USB ports, to work or not.
There are two exams in the Amazon saying it does:
    (OLE http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00472861W/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_g147_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1 & pf_rd_s = center-2 & pf_rd_r = 0VS71D4V6ZDJWW3JSKA6 & pf_rd_t = 101 & pf_rd_p = 467128533 & pf_rd_i = 468294),

but there is no confirmation of nowhere elsewhere.
Even the manual States produced with all the letters that he only use a single USB port
    (http://www.toshiba-multimedia.com/eu/store-external-hard-drives/alu-2-25/).

    Anyone able to help?

    Thank you!

    > Manual States even produced with all the letters that he only use a single USB port
    > (http://www.toshiba-multimedia.com/eu/store-external-hard-drives/alu-2-25/).

Page Multimedia Toshiba says it supports a high speed USB 2.0 ports and you can see from the photos on this page.

    > I can't understand that the series of external hard drive StorE Alu2 takes 2 USB ports, to work or not.

I think it depends on the USB ports on the computer/laptop.
The common standard USB should provide 500mA but this may be different and in this case the USB hard drives would not get enough power to operate correctly. In this case, you need a Y USB cable to connect an external USB HDD to two USB ports.

  • My HP 14 laptop is not recognizing the usb ports and wifi at startup.

During the last few days I been dealing with the issue that my laptop does not recognize the usb ports and wifi. After several reboots, it works fine. My drivers are up to date, so I don't know why, I'll have this terrible problem.

    Welcome @hildergarn,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome! It is an excellent site to find answers and ask questions. I understand that you have a problem with your Wi - Fi and USB ports on your laptop from HP.

My first suggestion would be to use the wireless network troubleshooting and Internet tool. At the bottom it will ask you questions to help you diagnose the problem.

Please take a look at this great Charter called troubleshooting wireless network and Internet. This document will help you to solve the problem of Wi - Fi.

Have you tried to restore the BIOS?

Have you tried to connect directly to the Modem/Router?

You have uninstalled the driver in Device Manager?

Please try to uninstall the driver in Device Manager by using the following steps:

    • Go to the Device Manager.
    • Expand network adapters.
    • Right-click on all NICs individually.
    • Click on uninstall.
    • Restart the laptop twice.

How many devices you try to connect?

What you are trying to connect via USB?

Are - what you happened to try to use the HP Support Assistant?

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you not him have not yet tried. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updated.

Here are other troubleshooting steps that may help too. If the USB device does not appear in Device Manager, then it might be a question of power requirement. Unplug the machine and perform the following steps until the device is detected:

    • Reboot the laptop
    • Plug in and wait five seconds.

    • If the device does not appear, try connecting to another USB port.

    • If the USB device is displayed in Device Manager after you connect the cable to a different port, then uninstall and reinstall the software of USB device driver.

If the device is not recognized in any port, unplug it and go to the next step.

    • Open the Device Manager.
    • Double-click Bus USB controllers,

    • Double-click on a USB root hub,

    • Click the Power tab

    • Click on properties of power supply (if it is displayed).

Devices need that are connected to the hub are shown, as well as the power they have. If the total displayed power is more than 500 mA, remove the devices and use a hub powered.

    • Continue looking at the properties of the power of each USB hub. If the total power required exceeds the total available power for the hub, then remove a device on this hub to a decrease in the number of consumption.

    • Plug in and wait five seconds. If the device is not recognized, unplug and go to the next step.

Please note; Remove USB cables at high speed that are more than 3 m (9.8 ft) in length and use cables at high speed that are shorter than 3 m.
