USB Ports dead after undocking and anchor W510 in Minidock Plus series 3

Hello

just a new W510 (Win XP 32) for a user customized and installed it on his desk. Everything worked fine except for one thing.

I start the NB in the Docking Station with an external keyboard and mouse (original IBM/Lenovo) attached.

Works very well.

Then I disconnect the laptop (there is no button or menu entry for disconnection, it is enough to press the button to eject the NB).

Laptop still works fine.

Now, I put the NB in the dock. External LCD display shows regular office but external keyboard and mouse no longer works. The mouse didn't even power (no lights).

I checked all USB ports--> dead.

If I plug the mouse or the keyboard to the usb port of the NB they get power, but do not work.

If I reboot the NB, all is well again.

Do I have to install a special plug-ins to allow equipment nd "reconnect"?

Thank you

Concerning

Mith

just visited the user and checked the NB again.

Guess what happened? Disconnect and reconnect worked.

It is not that I did not wait long enough to install all the drivers for the last time.

  • E280 plugged into a USB port may be bad and it fried my sansa?

Hello everyone, this is perhaps my last posting! I am so sad and upset: I just plugged my V1 e280 on a friends computer using a sandisk connector cable I got free on a freebox (variable n ° 1) and plugged into the front USB port (variable n ° 2); He turns, and then now it won't turn at ALL.  I opened the back and took out the battery, and it was VERY HOT.  I messed up with the battery for a while and it won't always turn.  Then I plugged it in USB computer port (my friend just told me, "those before does not work") and still it won't turn.  HOWEVER, a minute or two later, always connected, the BLUE RING OF DEATH on and is always turned on, ten minutes later while the screen is still blank, until the unit is now so hot that they are almost HOT.  I put it in the refrigerator.

So.  That's happened?  I'm f * cked?  Whose heads will roll for this disaster?  PLEASE HELP I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THIS.

    Thank you very much

YES, I'M SURE IT IS a SANSA CABLE, it says "SanDisk" on it and is similar to my own cable.  What diff he would do anyway, the device is F - ed.  Also, it turns out that it was the old cable and not the other, although a big deal.  Any advice for me?

  • USB ports, CD/DVD player, and Mike just does not work

So I'm pretty sure that these things are happening at the same time, although there are risks my trying to troubleshoot the USB ports have contributed to the failure of the microphone (internal and will not capture sound) and cd/dvd drive (not open). Perhaps? It is true that I know little about these kinds of things, but I'm much less following the indications which is what I did to try to tackle the problem of USB port, which was the first I noticed. I followed all the advice I could find online for troubleshooting when all usb ports do not respond. I used Device Manager to disable in its regular and safe mode. I also uninstalled them all in both modes (even if they reinstall until I'm able to restart). I unplugged and wait 5, 10, 15 min etc. There was a difficulty mentioned about watching the. Mine and INF files do not contain the mentioned error. I'm tempted to all my files backup and restore the computer to factory settings, especially now that the CD/DVD player and the micro does not work. This would solve the problem? If these things are related? Could even restore settings because I can't have in the cd/dvd drive? It's a dell inspiron 1721, and it crushed while you restart for almost a whole day just all the time I've began to notice all these malfunctions. I really appreciate any guidance!

Good so I solved all of these problems. I don't know what did the trick, but when I went back in the BIOS to re - activate the ports they have worked!

    Hi Aromero,

I suggest to follow the steps below and check if it helps to solve the problem:

When finished, restart your computer. Your USB controllers will automatically install.

If this does not resolve your issue, go to method 2

    Method 2

Install the latest drivers for your motherboard chipset.

This method updates the chipset of your motherboard drivers, so that your computer will use your USB devices.

1 see the documentation for your computer that will contain the name of the manufacturer of the motherboard.

    2. visit your computer manufacturer's support Web site. For a list of the computer manufacturers support sites, visit: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help/contact-support/computer-manufacturers

Go to their Web site to find the appropriate drivers for your motherboard. For assistance, contact the manufacturer of your computer.

  • Cracked screen and faulty USB ports on Satellite A105-S1014

On my Satellite A105-S1014 screen is cracked and needs to be replaced. How much cost could replace the screen?

In addition, my phone and USB ports do not work properly. This problem arise well before that I accidentally cracked the screen. Some times when I turn first of all the computer, USB port and telephone ports work for awhile and then after a period of time ranging from a few minutes to several hours, they badly run simultaneously and the computer says that what is in the USB port does not work and that there is no dial tone in the phone port that I use to access dial-up. At the beginning, I don't have this problem with the Toshiba laptop, but it arises after about three months.

My warranty has expired. How much it could cost to solve the problem of the phone and USB ports?

    Hey Buddy,
I can't tell you how much would it cost to fix these two things, but I can tell you that you buy rather a new machine because the display and motherboard are the most expensive parts in your machine. Since your ports USB and your RJ11 (phone port) don't work anymore and this stuff is on the motherboard, I guess you have to swap the motherboard, too.

I suggest you to sell your machine @ ebay and buy another. It would be too expensive to fix your machine. Believe me, I had a case of simiar and parts cost more then buy a new machine that was more recent and better performance.

Just my opinion and just a thought for you... :)

    Welcome them

  • My USB ports and MIC do not work. I hope that this is not the motherboard. Someone knows how to fix this?

Initially, it was a port that would not work. Before the USB ports out I did pay my phone with the USB cable. Before that my microphone stopped working. Deactivation and activation of the ports as well as uninstall then re install the USB readers and I tried a system restore. I also tried to take the battery for an hour or two and restart the PC. None of this has worked. Today, I heard some hope of my computer... I heard the sound of him recognize a dongle that is plugged. This sound is produced after starting my PC. I have not heard in a while and still haven't when I unplug and plug back in to the dongles. My computer (a laptop) like also to restart auto sometimes when I close the lid and open it, the screen does not light and it will be off and try to restart itself but the screen never lights up and he'll stop and try several times to start. In this case I have to hold the power button down to turn off completely and take the battery out and put it back in, then turn it on. I feel that it's a hardware problem but I'm not that great with computers and I don't want to give up yet on this computer. It cost me a pretty penny and I am a broke student.

If anyone had the same types of problems and has a solution I'm willing to try anything.
    Thanks in advance
