USB to ethernet series

I have a USB - series - system ethernet adapter.   The machine has an ethernet port output programmed to connect on port 514 (it has a static IP as well)

While I have experience using usb to serial to ethernet environment (works like a regular visa on a port device corresponding com) is there a way to communicate through port 514.

Any ideas how to approach it?  I do not yet have a device programmed, but I'm trying to prepare.

I can't use the main ethernet of output since it must communicate over the network to work and I can't use the ethernet hub, since I did not join it on this IP range (this is done on purpose and cannot be changed)

I would just use a second Ethernet card in your computer.  I did it with several test systems and it works fine.  You can then configure the second Ethernet port to use regardless of the settings you want.

  • Use of the USB to Ethernet adapter to find cRIO Systems

    Hi all

I'm trying to connect to one OR cRIO-9066 to my laptop using USB-to-Ethernet adapter.  But I have a problem with it; Find VI systems shows no results unlike the direct connection via the ethernet port on the laptop.  I wish that the connection of the USB-to-Ethernet adapter to support this feature as well.  I would like to know if somebody did, and I hope a solution to this.

Here's my setup. I bought the adapter USB-to-Ethernet of RadioShack. I connect the adapter to a USB port on my laptop. The adapter is the female Ethernet port on the other end. I directly connect cRIO and the adapter using a crossover ethernet cable. What is of note is that ethernet connection works.  I can specify the IP address of the cRIO then I can communicate with crio in the same configuration. However, finding systems VI cannot find any system.  LabVIEW 2015, is what I use.

Instead of using the adapter, if I use a direct connection via the ethernet port on the laptop, find systems VI works fine.

Any help or suggestion is appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

After all, my conclusion to this problem has been the model of Ethernet USB card I was using was not good.

Gigaware USB to adapter Ethernet (from Radio Shack) was working not with find systems VI on my environment even though it is still able to connect to CRIO if I know the IP address. I even had the other, but the result was the same.  The solution for me was to use another model of the BADGE, which is NS-PU98505. It is cheaper, but has worked with find systems VI.

I don't know what's behind the different behaviour, but the issue is resolved on my end for now.

Thank you all for all the tips and ideas. Congratulations to all!

    Hi Gen Shingar,

    1. are you able to access all other USB devices on the computer?

Many USB devices, such as external hard drives and media players, require a high speed USB 2.0 connection to function properly.

See the link below and run the fixit tool available only if none of the USB devices work on the computer.

If only the adapter does not work then check if it works on another computer.

You will need to contact the card manufacturer if the adapter does not work even on another computer.

  • Can range of printers HP 6830 - I connect via USB and ethernet?

I just bought a printer HP 6830.  I have a Windows Vista computer that I don't want to be connected to the internet and a PC of Windows 8.1, but also a laptop Windows 2000 who are both connected to the internet via ethernet (and can also be connected via a wireless connection).  I was hoping to connect the printer to the PC via the port USB Vista and for Windows 8.1 PC and laptop computer via an ethernet cable.  Can I connect via usb or ethernet connection at the same time?

    Hello

You can install the software via a USB port on your Windows Vista PC, do not connect USB until the installation guide to make.

So you can connect the printer to your network and install it on Windows 8.1 PC, USB and a network connection can be used for concurrency and would not interfere between them...

For the PC under Windows 2000, the printer is not compatible with the operating system and there is no drivers for such a, you can find the system requirements below:

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 - no USB or Ethernet cable to connect the printer to the computer?

I'm just trying to set up my new printer Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless.  I got to the step of installing the software, but there seems to be no cable supplied to connect the printer to my computer.

I can't currently connect via radio that I expect a new wireless router be delivered.  Is this the way onlt connection other than buying a separate USB or Ethernet cable?

    Help, please.

Ethernet and USB cables are not usually provided with most of the printers that you need to choose a cable with a length of favourabel to you. You can go to a hardware/computer store and buy a USB A-to-B cable. I'll post a picture of the end of cable just to clear any confusion.

  • Controller USB and Ethernet Controller Code 28

I recently reset my pc and reinstalled windows. However, I have a problem with the USB and Ethernet Controller. They say they have a Code 28, which is a driver not installed. I don't know what to do. I have a Gigabyte motherboard and no internet connection on the PC. SO I can't check online for drivers or solve correctly. (He tells me just to check when I'm online.) I tried everything, from downloading USB controllers to use the disk to install the drivers. When I use the disk it gets stuck loading around 3%. Help would be very appreciated.
    Stephen K.

Then, you will have to rely on updates for that drivers through Windows updates. If there is nothing, it means that the device that you use should not be used on the version of Windows that you are running.

  • 7500 a - printer - print USB or Ethernet connection

Just bought a 7500 today.  Currently connected through the USB port on a Windows 7 computer.  I also want to connect the Ethernet to my Wireless Linksys router and be able to print via USB or Ethernet connection.  Is this feasible?  Or, what I need to do USB and wireless.

Note that when you use the machine for the work I use a VPN tunnel to the corporate network, while I have to keep the USB cable to the Win 7 machine, internal I might close my VPN to print.  I want the second connection (Ethernet), so others on my LAN PC can be printed on the 7500 a.  My assumption is that each printers on the local network must have the drivers for 7500 installed... a is this correct?

Edit: On my LAN, I use static addresses.

    Any input appreciated.  Thank you.

Yes, it will work.  After you install the printer on a Win 7 machine using the USB connection, I took the CD provided a Win - XP machine and installed the printer from the following options the XP machine as the prompts.  Note that I addressed the printer with a static IP address, via the display of the printer Panel, before installing on the XP machine.

  • Usb and Ethernet port does not work after update of windows 8.

    Hello

    Hi Ben,

You can install the Windows updates manually by changing the settings of Windows updates.

    1. Open Windows Update in Control Panel by dragging it from the right edge of the screen, typeSearch (or, if you are using a mouse, pointing to the top right of the screen, move the pointer of the mouse down and then clickingSearch), get into Windows Update in the search box, by typing or clicking onsettings and then type or by clicking install optional updates.

    2. In the left pane, tap or click change settings.

    3. Under important updates, click the following option:

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them.

    4. Under recommended updates, select the give me updates in the same way I receive important updates recommended , and then click OK.

Manually install the Windows updates and find the problem causing the update.

  • How to set up a USB converter to series on a virtual XP machine

    Envy 17 3D: i7 2090nr: model LV045UA #ABA, Windows 7 Professional

I am installing a converter USB to COM on a virtual PC XP series. Neither Belkin nor IOGEAR USB to Serial converters are able to accomplish this because they cannot work within a virtual machine, according to their support personnel and I checked it's true.

Is it possible to install a USB converter to series on a virtual XP machine?

    Kind regards

    LMNUCOHEN

It turns out that, integration features have been installed, when I created the virtual machine. In addition to starting the virtual machine, it enables the integration features.

Based on previous comments by the previous speaker, what I'm trying to cannot be done.

    Thank you for responding.

  • Adapter USB - C compatibility series?

Can someone confirm compatibility USB adapters series knows well with other Macs and a 12 '' MacBook?

I'm not (USB) universal serial bus but a cable series to 9600, 8, N, 1 network connections and ports console industrial equipment.

I use a TRENDnet TU-S9 with my retina 15 or 13 Air via VMware Fusion and a virtual Windows machine.

    Thank you.

FYI to the professionals or technicians with these needs.

I brought a House MacBook and a Windows 10 VM sees the TRENDnet TU-S9 plugged the dongle USB - C or mini dock drivers loaded, and that's where that COM3 just as it is with the native USB ports on my laptop Air and 15 of the retina.

That could make the MacBook a keeper.

You can use all the W7 x 64 drivers and software for this model on the link below.

Product for your laptop specifications indicate that there AMD/Intel switchable graphics.

This means that you must install the AMD graphics drivers, who will install the drivers for the AMD graphics cards and Intel in your notebook.

  • Using a USB to Ethernet adapter

I originally had my equipment plugged into an ethernet switch, and he has appeared as a network device in MAX. Finally, we will move this device between 10 different stations, so I thought it would be nicer to get 1 dongle USB-Ethernet instead of 10 ethernet switches.

I'm on Windows 7 and got this model adapter Anker. I installed the drivers and I can't see the link in "My network connections", but I don't yet see whatever it was at the maximum I tried to disable the firewall, but that doesn't change anything. Does anyone have advice for this connection appears in MAX?

I want to connect to the network of the office through the integrated network card (which is setup on the customer site) and plug an instrument to a USB port using the USB adapter to ethernet. Previously, I connect the network and the instrument to a switch, which was connected to my computer.

Ah... Got it, but in general the USB NIC should look like Ant to another network connection. What you're missing, it's things like a DHCP Server distributing IP addresses to tha devices are plugged into the network.

Set a static IP address on the USB adapter in Windows use something like 192.168.100.1 and set the instrument to use a static IP address as 192.168.100.2 both use the 225.225.225.0 subnet mask.

Chances are these days around the instrument and even the USB NIC are 'Auto MDX' then you can use a cable right throug, but if that does not work, then try a crossover cable

  • Moxa Ethernet series with Visa showing strange characters

Before going to the Moxa with these questions, I was hoping if someone could easily say "I saw this before and this is probably what is wrong." I use a Moxa device which is just ethernet to serial (NPort 5150). I can say I have everything match correctly in terms of run configuration, and I'm just a loopback test. However the data have some weird characters at the beginning, when I read again. They seem to spend as I add text at the beginning of my thong and maybe has something to do with the first space in the string? Someone has seen something like this before with Moxa or other ethernet equipment series? The device has a few options of delimitter but now that they are not chosen so I don't think that's the question.

They have a DLL with functions I'd like to try in case they do something special under the hood, but I'm really trying to avoid writing a wrapper around a bunch of UIBC if native G will do. My next step would be to one of their example programs C compile and write data to see if I get the same results as my LabVIEW application.

Marco, your question about the serial interface made me think, because Yes it is 232 but has 485 capabilities...

Maybe that I just need to sleep on it, but I came this morning and looked at the settings. The default type is 485 serial device. I switched it to 232 and it worked (big surprise...).

Thank you for encouraging my brain to start working again.
