Have you tried a different power adapter to see what could be the problem? He may simply have failed.

    I disassembled and PF1 opened.

    Laptop Toshiba computers use a 19 V or 15 V adapter.

But I would always use AC adapter provided with the laptop or an original part recommended by Toshiba

  • T440p using more low-power AC adapter

I recently got a T440p. The laptop came with an adapter 135W.

I would like to order an additional adapter.

When I search for compatible adapters on the Lenovo site by typing my model number, he mentions 65W and 90W, 135W 170W adapters.

    http://shop.Lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/Web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:find - compatibility...

What would be the consequence of the use of a lower adapter 135W (of which the laptop came with)? Charges slower? Reduces the speed of the CPU? I guess that lower power adapters might work since Lenovo lists in the store when I searched for my machine.

The machine has a quad core CPU and a discrete graphics card.

    Thank you.

    Hello.

You can run your machine on the lighter for normal operations on an adapter 90 w, and the CPU must function normally in most of the situations. However, if the graphics are used as well, it will reduce the functionality / slow down the loading of your machine, and is certainly not an optimal situation for a powerful laptop such as you have.

You need an adapter 135W operate at full capacity. Period. I had a T440p spruced up by myself and a W520 170W, and I would never cut corners when choosing an adapter for them.

What you're doing are OK, if you still use your laptop as a mobile device and not as a replacement of permanent office.

Modern laptops won't let not the battery overload. If the color of the white led charge\power then it is no longer supported. If it's orange, then it reloads.

If a laptop is used as a permanent replacement office and always stay connected, so the best plan would be to remove the battery and store it in a cool place. Plug the power adapter and use it as your desktop. There are a number of schools of thought on the State of charge of the battery must be stored. As long as you use the laptop with the battery from time to time and let it load, the battery must remain in good condition for at least a few years.

I just bought a laptop ThinkPad X 230. I have an older ThinkPad X 200 with 3 power cords (adapters). Can I use the X 200 adapters with the new X 230 power or do I have to buy new ones?

Yes the X30x, X6x and X 200, X 201, X 220, X 230 (and variants of the Tablet) all uses the same type of power adapter. So the answer to your question is Yes, they are compatible.

  • Satellite A200 - STARTING problems, freezes on the connection of the power adapter

My 3 YO A200 (PSAF3A-08202D has developed a problem with starting.
I can start on battery power with WINDOWS VISTA BUSINESS (after 10 attempts, but freezes immediately when the power adapter is plugged in.)
Display sometimes boots wide-screen, but mostly freezes before windows welcome.

When running, the battery produces about 1 to 2 hours before a complete evacuation.
When executing a battery, computer freezes when I plug Charger AC/DC immediately and going with my A100 charger as an alternative.

Initial problem was a faulty hard drive and super hot air flow due to fluff the cooling block fan.
Tech replaced original 120G HDD with 500 G and reloaded at the factory. works well for 3 months, then started with the same problems so conclude original disk HARD was just a secondary issue.

So maybe fixed I overheated components on the motherboard. Reset of data cards initially fixed a problem starting but is gradually degraded.

Reading through the forums seems that there is a huge amount of these laptops with similar issues. Is this a design flaw, like my other Satellite A100 is solid as a rock. All forums, which suggests resetting the cpu is running slow or be disconnected seem to be temporary repairs. Boot in safe mode and reset the default settings have no effect.

A suggestion that a capacitor is at fault seems to be the fix is valid but which involves specialized tools is not available locally. Local agent of Harvey Norman for Toshiba are best part of unnecessary because they can send in Australia from Toshiba. Machine has been close to $2000 and is now worth Zip.

I am unable to do anything with this machine, as all the ways of upgrading or resetting calls for AC power available and running.

I'm about to do radical things and hope that this forum can enlighten us.

    Hi Mickaël

You might be right. It seems that the motherboard is affected.
Don't know why but higher temperature can still affect the internal parts.
The temperature may increase if cooling fans n t working correctly. For example dust or debris leads to a higher temperature because cooling air cannot circulate properly.

I have to clean my laptop's cooling grilles from time to time using a jet of compressed air. This allows to keep the temperature at the lower level.
Of course the internal temperature is not always a reason for portable computers hardware malfunction equipment can begin to malfunction as always in an other products too: TVs, cars, game consoles

I bought an extended warranty for my laptop, also for my LCD TV mercy always if a high-end product begin to malfunction and in the case of a warranty claim, the fault can be fixed free of charge.

  • X 61 - your power adapter you can cheat!

If you have a small adapter (65W), your laptop may be underpowered and not give you 100% of its performance.

A simple test can reveal that on some of the laptops of Lenovo, especially those with a high end processor (tested on X 61 Tablet processor Intel Core 2 Duo L7700 1 .8GHz 7764-CTO), the small format (65W) AC adapter is insufficient. This can happen primarily on mobile phones configured custom, but it wouldn't hurt to test yours as well.
On the other hand, a 90W power adapter has the ability to bring your laptop to its full potential, the maximum speed of the frequency of the CPU (100%).

Lenovo offers no option and refuses to deal with the issue, because this looks like a technical mistake raw and expensive.
    The test:
Remove the battery and power your laptop only through the adapter provided small format (65W). Otherwise, as someone else pointed out, the battery will act as a big capacitor providing very current and the laptop will normally occur as expected.

How to get your laptop performance parameters:

Has) if you have Vista, simply run the resource control tool (the button is available on the performance tab in Task Manager). You can see that the maximum of the processor of your machine frequency is 66% reading (not at 100% it should be). This is regardless of the settings BIOS and the operating system that you have (it's even if you have configured your computer for maximum performance). You can also follow the instructions below, because they are General, and not only for Windows XP.

    B) if you have Windows XP (or want to run a more conclusive test), you can use one of these utilities available for free (just Google and download):
    (1) Intel Processor Identification Utility (the tab frequency test - basic speed reported will not get higher than 1.2 MHz)
    (2) CPU - Z (tab in CPU - base reported speed will not get higher than 1.2 MHz)
    (3) RMClock (on the CPU info page - clock base and accelerator will not get higher than 1.2 MHz)
    (4) superPi (this tool will not reveal directly the base of your processor frequency. However, being an intensive very processor, can actually time your machine on the market with a fully charged battery attached and then without him-, you may notice a difference in performance ~ 33%. For example, try to calculate pi by using a large number of decimal places, like 1 million).

  • Food - «the AC power adapter type cannot be determined...» »

For the past two weeks, whenever I start my Dell INSPIRON E1705 while using the power I am greeted with the following message. "Unable to determine the type of AC power adapter. Your system will run more slowly and the battery won't charge. "Please connect a Dell 90W Adapter or higher for a better functioning of the system. I press the F1 key and everything works fine. I read about this on other sites and most say that it is a design flaw in the diet after been properly cord around the power as expected. Apparently some of the strands of internal wire cords becomes broken and cause this message. My computer is from June 2006 and should not have this problem so soon... or ever. This seems to be a flaw that should create some sort of reminder of manufacturers, since so many people have this problem. I am of course out of warranty, will Dell replace this for free?

    `

You're right, the failure is due toloss of the power supply signal identification. Sometimes this happens because of the pressure on the CAP, which breaks the signal wire. Some are even so severe that the insulation comes off of the card; This is due to rough handling. The other cause is one or more of the seizure of power solder connections to the card system become broken. This is also linked to the severe treatment. I saw a case where all three power and three of the four mechanical linkages connections have been disconnected. If the power supply is bad, a replacement will cure the problem. If this isn't the case, then the decision is wrong, and this will require a replacement of the system board. If you are experienced, you can try to resolder the connections. I am experienced and wasn't able to get my daughter E6000 work by resoldered. Newer Dells use a replaceable power connection card which is a less expensive repair.

  • A Magsafe 85w power adapter would be detrimental to my MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid 2010)

    Hi all!

    I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid 2010, 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo).

Well, after years of abuse, the thinner rope (which connects to the Macbook) began to tear. I tried to drag an above shrink wrap to fix and make it last a little longer, but now I find myself stirring the rope around so he can start loading.

in any case, I found a company after-market on Amazon called Supsun making (link below) and recently purchased a. He said that going to work with my Macbook, but I think not even check what power mine use and after he woke up, I found out mine originally a 60w.

Will this hurt Magsafe Supsun 85w power adapter my mid 2010 13-inch Macbook in anyway?

I thank you for all your comments!

  • Firefox will not remember to use the reader for PDF downloads

When you use Gmail, I have an email with attachments in PDF. For each PDF attachment, there are 3 possibilities: use the player integrated, download or copy of Google Drive. When I selected download, the popup says "you have chosen to open:...» "and then offers you two selections: 'Open with' and 'Save File '. Previously, the option 'Open with' remember that I wanted to use the drive with the PDF file. It no longer does this. I have to go and find the drive every time, even if I clicked "do this automatically". Whenever I have go to the player, he will use it. It won't be just remembering to use drive next time. Under Application Options, it does not for the PDF files, it must 'Use Adobe Reader'. I reinstalled Firefox, as well as ensuring that records in my application profile data have been deleted, so there is a clean version.

Test with a single message, it seems that Google sends good content-type header (' application/pdf'). The present attached screenshot the "response headers" in the web console.

Sometimes the settings file that stores your preferences for handling download becomes corrupt with duplicated or contradictory information. Its format internal being impenetrable, it is generally easier to remove the file and have Firefox rebuild. You must update your PDF preferences once again, but I hope that it will work again.

    Here's how:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • Menu help > troubleshooting information

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • File menu > exit

Pause while Firefox finishing his cleaning, then rename the mimeTypes.rdf to something like mimeTypes.old

Restart Firefox upward, review the Options/Applications and select PDF preferences, then retest Gmail. Any improvement?

    http://www.TomsHardware.com/reviews/power-supply-specifications-ATX-reference, 3061 - 12.html

First, it is important to know that there is another interface "6 to 8 pins" which is a feature of power-for - motherboard power ... you don't want that, sure, and connectors plastic is having different shapes.  You can see that he has 4 yellow wires (usually the supply wires) and would not have the sequence of correct wiring of a PCIe 6 to 8 pins supplementary power converter:

I don't know the show, too, is not what you want.  This looks like an 8 pin to two adapter 6 pins.  You want a 6-pin to 8 pin adapter.  Is attached another picture of the nVidia type tells you to do.  If you look at the hyperlink at the top of this post you will find the wiring of 6 pins on 8 wire and for your project, you will probably want to follow the advice of nVidia for best results.  There is power to the ground and 'sense' son to all be correctly connected to the adapter.

There is also some PCIe additional adapters that allow you to convert several sheets supply 4 son "molex" grouping in a single 6-pin PCIe or connector 8.  It is best to not do this if you have a power with official ones built in.  Your the fact, and to check the manual, it looks like your top rated power supply has 3 of these auxiliary PCIe power cords (G1, G2 and G3 will be printed on the side of the end of your 3 card).  On the other hand, offer reduced rated power of the Z820 has only 2 additional PCIe (auxiliary) cords supplied by it.

I don't know if you are forced to use a good 6-8 converter or could if away with plug 6 pin right in the correct position on the plug 8 pins of your videocard directly, according to article of the hyperlink.  I, personally, would get an adapter.

EDIT: Here is a picture of two ends of what is supposed to be a PCIe 6-pin supplementary power adapter PCIe 8 pins.  The first and third power pins 6 pins are officially DC 12v (some references have each of the first 3 pins being 12vDC) and subsequently, the rest are supposed to be a 'sense' or earthed.  When I look at the plug 8-pole end wiring I do not see a ground wire or ground jumper coming to pin 8.  I would not recommend it, unless I'm wrong about his son:
