• Several monitors, duplicate user interfaces

  Hey everybody,

  My application consists (as the title suggests) a computer running 4 touchscreen monitors. Three of the monitors will be completely different, but the 4th will be one combination of the other 3. The 4th is larger, so it will be good in fact whole face front of monitor 1.

  Here's a representation of what will be setup.

  The hardest part is that I need 4 monitor to act exactly like the other monitors in its respective sections. It would be nice to be able to do it without having to send my data to several places each time or code duplication. Someone of you have experience in the duplication of the user interface, or knows of a clever way to do this?

  I think I have to do is create a new interface for the 4th monitor which triggers other user interfaces and vice versa. The disadvantage is to further development on the top of the UIS, I already have, and if I change something with the first 3 UI, I have to come in and change the 4th manually. I also have to do an event overall fantasy trip LIKE THIS in order to communicate between two different screws

  If the VI opened on monitor 1-3 is re-entering, you can use a subgroup of experts to open a copy of it on the "master" VI If you are handy with the sub-panels you have small portions of the unique façade of several visible screws on the front of the master VI. The hard part is going to be designing a system of communication that allows screw incoming control safely the same resource without any kind of race condition.

• Change the colors of the images between monitors while the user interface remains the same

  Hey! Im having a problem where photoshop change colors when I move the window between my monitors, see here: http://sta.sh/04y5s60vf3j is not due to the monitors themselves being different, it does actually change after a few seconds to move inbetween the monitors. The left was callibrated with an elite group of spyder 3 I do not have access to. I applied the file with windows instead of the utility of spyder color management. The second is new, and it is not callibrated by what that is, but instead was done by hand with integrated RGB brightness/contrast/custom settings. Two of them are very close to eachother, so enough for my taste. but when photoshop changes which looks like the image, it is causing problems. Curiously, when I disable calibration of the screen on the left, the image doesn't change color between monitors, but instead always appears as it does on the right. but then they do not match to the top and all the screen looked washed out because it's uncallibrated, so that won't do me any good. Something else interesting to report, is when this image is saved as a. JPG and read with firefox, the image appears exactly as the monitor on the LEFT (which is my primary monitor) despite the monitor left which is the force has changed. does anyone have any suggestions? It also appears that photoviewer windows behaves in the same way, although firefox does not work. Meaning when I open an image in all 3 on the left monitor, they look alike, but when opened on the right monitor, windows photo viewer and photoshop both display the image such as the brighter and redder that firefox works. It's frustrating, because it seems that photoshop changes the image with my measured on my monitor left to match what it looks like on the web, it does. but it does not for the monitor right, or the left is uncallibrated. Another question, I can see with this is even if the user interface is the same shade of gray, the images are different between the monitors because of this change. Does anyone have suggestions?

  What you need to understand, is that Photoshop converts the image data, the document profile for the display profile, independently for each display. It is a managed pipeline standard color display. Windows Photo Viewer does the same thing (but do not have a lot of other applications).

  When you move a picture on the screens, it snaps when you drop; as the new display profile is picked up.

  Calibration is only partly about changing the monitor's response. The second part a profile, which is a complete description of the screen in its calibrated State. Then a conversion of standard profile is performed as he goes to the screen. The profile has a much higher level of accuracy than the single calibration.

  If the image on the web has the stripped document profile, Firefox with default settings does not have this conversion and sends just the unchanged data to display. In other words, it is not color managed. This behavior can be changed, but get your first straight base display profiles. Unless you get a new calibrator it is no that you can do to match these two views.

• Help! What other option I have other then using thunderbolt connection to connect the VGA monitor?

  I really hope someone is able to help and give me cheaper workaround here. I am currently using the single port thunderbolt that I have on my Mac mini to connect my VGA monitor (with mini display port to VGA). However, I would use an audio interface of stroke of lightning and therefore need to try to free this port so you can connect it.  What are my options here (other then buying a new monitor?) are there adapters that I might be able to use?

• Entry of smart camera reads low

  I have a 1722 smart camera.  Can't do the entries to read a value "high."  Apart from that, my application works well.

  I use the cable OR screw terminals block.  If I jumper power 0 or 1 (axis 2 or 8) to + 24V (pin5), always always read low entries, so I can never get past step waiting for a 'high' input before proceeding.  I used the data as well monitor while applying tension, but they always read '0 '.

  Note: the outputs also do not work; they are always at 24V, even when the low value (they pull-up to + 24).

  However, the LEDs work very well when I have them turn on and off.

  What Miss me on a conceptual level to have the entries to read?

  How you get a protection password for FTP for all of our time real targets is to lock the controller configuration and the configuration of the assign a password. This is done by right-clicking on the smart camera to the MAX on remote systems and selecting "Lock". Once the RT controller has a password will not allow you to FTP it unless the password is entered correctly. • Display success or failure of the images only in the user interface custom

  I built a user interface customized to my project VBAI 2010 that displays 2 images from 2 different cameras.  I want to have the "View menu" available for an operator to choose between images, only passed, only having failed, etc.  The view menu is using the default user interface, but when I build a custom one from one of the templates, this option is no longer available.  How can I get the view menu to show up?  If I can't do it, is there a good work around for this?

  This is the VI amended with an additional option for any display puts is not up to date.

  If you do advanced UIS Custom like this, you should definitely check out LabVIEW. You can even install it for evaluation to try... later, when you're not on the customer site

• The smart camera target

  Hello!

  I've tried to sort, the abundance of information, it is possible to install the necessary software (CVI RT DURATION, etc.) for cameras 17xx OR program then with CVI?

  Currently, I only installed the software recommended to the target and don't see the CVI runtimes in the installation wizard. The CVI environment reports that I have the correct version of Labwindows CVI Run-Time Engine for installed RT.

  You can not install a RTE of LabWindows/CVI on a smart or 17xx camera.  If you read the user manual, you can install the software below to target the smart camera.

  If you want to develop in LabWindows/CVI, you will first need to make a script VBAI to deploy it to the target.  Then, you can call the smart camera using the API C VBAI.

• Structure of the event without user interface

  I tried a quick and effective solution for a structure of event that is not a case of timeout and is part of a vi that has no user interface, but I have sent configuration data to the structure of the event.

  Let me be more clear: I have a camera that generates several events taken by a loop with the structure of the event inside.

  The provider of the camera give me this example of Labview code with all the events I'm interested and how they are implemented. I should mention that when you write a command of camera that a response to an event, but when you connect first to the camera there are more than 100 events generated by the latter, or when you download camera there are also several events. When there is no communication to the camera, the structure of the example event is inactive. The example includes a user interface to change settings and the program responds very well.

  I have to integrate this camera in great demand in which camera photo will be configured in a pragmatic way with number of the type of user interface in the example given by the manufacturer of the device.  First, I tried to design a loop with timeout cases in which a queue can send the data to the device setting configuration. Everything is good until the download when code needs to hold events in a certain way; in my case, an event is taken another goes to the time-out period and so on. After two sets of 100 images download, during the third round Labview gets blocked (Labview not responding) and I have to kill Labview. I got designer of the camera that if camera events are not taken they are kept on a pile and when the battery is full causes the Labview locked.

  Maybe I give too many details, but the question is: how to communicate with a struct event that is not a case of timeout and does not part of a user interface vi (it doesn't have a sign in my application)?

• communication problem with smart cameras

  I am currently using VBAI 2010 with my smart camera and for the exchange of variables I use the function CNVCreateWriter to contact CVI 2010. It works fine when I'm in the configuration interface. I can use and modify all the variables with no problems.

  But when I switch to the control interface I can't modify variables more. By using the CNVCreateWriter function, I get the error message: RUN-TIME ERROR NO FATALE: "Camera_Api.c", line 130, col 14, 0x0000107C thread id: CNVCreateWriter function: (is-6345 return value [0xffffe737]). Cannot complete the operation within the specified time

  Someone know why it works in the configuration interface, but not in control in the real world interface?

  by the way: I can't use VBAI 2011 right now because we do not yet have a license for it

  In configuration mode, things run slower on the smart camera because synchronize us execution with the update of Windows information on execution of State step, etc. When you run in inspection mode, it runs as fast as possible, so it may not be as many processor available time to process access requests to your application of C variables. Is the acquisition of your inspection triggered images or go faster the smart camera can possibly go (i.e. not triggered immediate mode)? If you're in free run mode, what happens if you change to wait next... This can give the processor a little more time to update the variables requests while he's waiting for the image to be acquired. Another way to test this theory would be to put one step behind in your inspection and see if it works (starting with 100ms and if it works, check out how small you can do).

  Something that could also help is to define the variables on your host machine and in VBAI a variable of network that binds to the variables defined on your PC. In this way, the variable engine shared on RT doesn't have to manage the updates from your PC, as well as updates of VBAI, as well as the execution of the inspection as soon as possible, and your C application should not have problems to access the variables on the same machine. This means that your PC needs to be up and running when your control is running on the smart camera or there is time-out errors to access variables... but this may be good for your application.   Another option could be to use TCP, series, Ethernet/IP, or some other variable VBAI read/write Protocol.

• User interface failure after MS windows update

  Just downloaded a new MS update 12/01/2011. He propted me to reboot, so I did and it seemed to be boot normally, but as soon as she was about to the login screen it came with an error message.

  "The application or DLL C:\Windows\system32\ODBC32.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check against your installation diskette. »

  With my only option is to click ok and get stuck in the same loop: "reboot, the error message, click ok, restart again at the beginning."

  I have a Linksys wireless device I've been using since I first got the computer 6 years ago and never had a problem before with it go to this special login screen instead of the usual login screen for Windows XP Professional.

  When I try to boot into 'safe mode', the same message appears, but if I close the message instead of click ok, another message appears: "the GT Gina.dll failed to load user interface dll. Please contact your adminastrator system (I'm admin) to replace the dll or the original dll... »

  Since most of the people do not have a genuine XP bootable installation CD, think they might have a genuine XP bootable installation CD, not sure what type of CD that they have, or have only recovery type CD that came with their system.  To remove all doubt, I have instructions to make a CD bootable Recovery Console.

  If you have a SATA drive, sometimes the CD Recovery Console will not recognize your hard drive without some settings in the BIOS, but I would start with the bootable XP Recovery Console CD do you and see how it goes.  With SATA drives, sometimes it's beautiful, it is sometimes annoying.

  I also have in the next post will give you the instructions to create a bootable Hiren CD.  There a windowsy Office look and feel which is less intimidating than the Recovery Console command line interface.  Hiren does not seem that this issue be SATA (at least not for me) and you can always make your file replacement.

  I recommend yo do the CD and try them in a system that works just to see if they start very well, you know.  You do not have to 'do' anything, make sure that it starts, and you can navigate and see some files, then exit.

  If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

  This is not the same as recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.

  You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

  The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

  xp_rec_con. ISO

  It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

  You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

  When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

  Press any key to boot from CD...

  Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

  Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

  Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

  You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

  You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

  C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

  The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

  For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the command prompt.

  A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

  In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

  Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

  Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

  CHKDSK C: /r

  Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

  It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

  You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

  Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

  You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

  Do, or do not. There is no test.

• Speech recognition - recognition language is not language User Interface problem

  I want to get Windows 7 speech recognition to work with British English, but I get an error after the training, that the language of the speech recognition is does not match the language of the user interface. I got the thing defined in the locale UK and speech recognition in British English. Several people have suggested:

  • Change regional settings, restart, change back again, reboot. Does not...
  • Turning off the box that says look at my documents. Does not solve.
  • make a Windows 7 reinstall. Can't do like no Windows 7 no install disc came with the PC.

  Can someone help me solve this problem? Where is the language of the User Interface set? Would - this something to do with Office 2010?

  There is anecdotal evidence that the use of like CCleaner registry cleaners can cause this problem.

  Have you contacted the manufacturer of your machine to see what the repair and the machine has recovery options?  Maybe he has a hidden recovery that is quite common nowadays for the OEM partition?  This should be mentioned in the manual or on their Web site.

• Windows 7 does not start with TV VGA monitor

  Basic information: Dell Inspiron 530 desktop, CPU Intel, 2 Gig RAM, Windows 7, using the integrated video.

  I bought a TV with a VGA input and tried to use it as a monitor.  The computer was running when I connected the VGA to TV.  The computer recognizes the TV, game screen resolution, etc..  After that I turned the computer off and tried to restart it, it wouldn't start.  There is no video output.  If I connect to a VGA monitor, it came out, and then I can connect to the TV.  TV manufacturer was no help.  Why my computer will not recognize the TV to start?

  The computer is not designed for Windows 7 and Dell does not have the drivers for the computer with Windows 7.

  Basically you can not get drivers for this pc.

  You can try to visit the Intel Web and automatic detection tool and cehck Intel if it can help you to get the drivers.

• Confused about the bar mentioned in user interface designs

  I was reviewing the instructions for user interface design, and he mentions a menu bar:

  "Use a menu bar to move user interface components off the screen.
  The application menu can include primary or secondary
  The menu when you drag from the top of the screen.

  The menu bar is built in? Or it simply means, I can create an and show it when the 'swipe_start' event fires?

  What does primary and secondary? This means main and submenus?

  If there is a menu built in, how I add to it? If I created one, what would be the best approach to design? I saw a QNX class for menus. How the menu disappear? Would it not as simple as when something is clicked?

  If the best way to get the menu bar to slide downwards to activate it? It is implying that the menu bar is the Menu bar main application and dialog boxes in the frame actions app to be managed by popups, buttons etc and do not use a menu bar always visible because it uses valuable screen realestate.

  I understand that these are guidelines, there are always exceptions to the rule. I just want an idea on best practices.

  You basically answered most of your questions, but not confirm them

  The menu bar from what I've seen so far in the docs is not built in, and you will need to create one on your own by using the SWIPE_START event. Primary and secondary actually seems to be what you call main and submenus. What I thought of him, it was maybe a menu that looks the same every time by sweeping u down and has basic functions or if something happens in the application and slide you down the menu reflects the events of what is happening. in regards to how it should look like, there is a video of a demo that was presented at the adobe max Conference where he shows a demo of the camera app to help slip it in the menu dropdown.   the menu design would be that it would disappear as soon as you click an option. its really what you want it to be. I don't think that there is no specificity.

  and Internet broadcasting its been said that they do not like to see sort of a title from the menu bar. now, I agree and disagree with this statement, but maybe im just not used to slide down menu type event. so ill see where this goes.
