Users and Quickbooks accounts
In QB 10, ' 08, ' 07, I'm trying to run scheduled backups. QB has advised that it has problems, so I'll try to save on the desktop and will be then copy the backup files to a flash drive. At the request of the backups worked well until the transition from XP to Vista. The problem seems to be QB will not save my user name & pass so the backup will not work. QB support said the user that I use is corrupted and when I use the user administration works. Can I challenge my user account or create an exact copy? When I went to the user from the administrator, my settings, addressbook, and network files are not configured the same and I have been unable to make it look like my favorite of the user.

Difficulty of a corrupted user profile
After creating the profile, you can copy the files from the existing profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you created.
See if the information above helps you.

User (and files) account settings not saved at shutdown
Hi, I recently got Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit installed on my PC of house built... the problem I run into is that whenever I stop, when I turn it on again it is still as if it were my first time logging into the user account (I get the Welcome Center window, none of my settings to before I stop were saved)... even though I installed all programs still appear to be installed.
Also, I'm a little confused about how the "personal file" my account user works (I mean the folder that opens when I click on "Brian" in the start menu, in the upper right). First of all, my settings, all files in there seem to have erased when I stopped (excluding the makings of the sample). Second, this personal file does not seem to be the same folder as I get to by going to computer > disc Local (c) > users > Brian 1; even if they are both set in place with the default subfolders (photos, music, video etc.).
Thus, the settings and files in the personal folder for my user expect to get erased on shutdown... does anyone have a solution for this?
I appreciate the help!
Thank you
BrianYour original user is damaged. Make a new user account and copy the data from the old account to the new. After you have all your stuff, you can delete the old damaged account.
User - recommended configuration (Vista and Win7) accounts
You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all other Windows 7, Vista, and modern operating systems are operating systems multi-user with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.
In particular, you do not want account only one user with administrator privileges on Vista and Windows 7 because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult. It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but it may require more work you want to do. Better not to get into a bad situation at first.
The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. As a user Standard is recommended for security reasons and will help protect your computer against infections. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.
If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:
Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UACUncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null). MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

When I am connected to the computer, and I 'switch user' other user accounts, cannot connect to the internet, unless I have complelty "log off." How can I fix? I should be able to stay connected with the windows open, so I can continue when I get back.
I should be able to stay connected with the windows open, so I can continue when I get back.
It depends on your network, there'S no connection. For example, it could certainly happen to a user who was logged only under that user. However, in this case instead of completely disconnected the first account you could probably have the first account log out and hang up the connection. Then the second account probably could dial and connect. FWIW, I think a DSL PPPoE user might see similar symptoms.

OIM11g - remove the link between the user and the account
We have configured a rule wrong Recon for a resource and then run the task of reconciliation on a limited number of users; the result is that these users are connected to the target system wrong accounts.
Now, we have configured the right Recon rule, but we do not know how to clean/delete the 'link' created for users to reconcile, we want to run a new reconciliation from scratch.
Is this possible?
Can anyone provide a detailed guide of the how-to (step-by-step)?
Thank you

Vista SP2 could not be deleted and SP1 could not be found so I suspect that my Vista pc came with SP1 is installed (bought April 2008). Also the pc Vista restorals date back only to last month. Looks like I have to do a re-install? If you have any other suggestions or if you can suggest an address MS to reinstall Vista - Home Premium - that would be appreciated. And as usual, thanks a lot. When my computer is on suddenly power went and my system also closed that crashed without logging my user account. now, I started my computer and I tried to open a session in my account (having only one user account) but he goes to the temporary login account, it displays "could not load the profile user and loading of temporary user account if you make changes to this user account it will be erased when you connect after." What can I do? How can I solve it? I use windows xp.

Hi indhru,
- Did you the latest changes on the computer?
- You have security software installed on the computer?
Try the step after the connection to the temporary account below.
- Click on the Start menu.
- Type Regedit in the Run dialog box, and then press enter
- Access
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList - There is 1 line for each profile. Especially if a profile is bad there are 3 things worth visiting:
- Make sure that the name of the key are not ends in ".bad".
- Make sure the RefCount value is 0

Hello.
I have a question about how to select the type of user account for each user account.
I read that if I type 'control userpasswords2' term, it will bring up a window of hidden user accounts. In this window, select a name of the user account and click property, click on membership group and it will show all the type of account you can purchase (including the standard user, restricted user, the other who has many other types)
Here is the link I read
http://www.exnol.com/globally-control-and-change-all-users-passwords-in-Windows
Let's say my computer is XP pro and it is in the home (not domain joined ) working group. Am I able to set these types of accounts to my user account using 'control userpasswords2' just as I explained above?
I was wondering because I read in the microsoft help article or somewhere that it indicates that the computer must be on the field to be able to choose the type of account by using this process, I explained, and one account type you can choose where your computer is located in the Working Group's account admin or limited using the control panel then click on accounts of users... but other said it should not be on the field... I got confused.
I would like to try it myself, but I don't have XP pro computer with me right now, I'd appreciate it really if someone could help me with the answer.
Hi greenyy,
If you are the administrator of the machine Windows XP Professional, you can use the command 'control userpasswords2' and access the list of user accounts and change the type of account.
You need not necessarily be on a domain, however, it may not work for some types of user accounts on a working group.
A test, you can try to change the type of account for user accounts & check if it works.
Reference: To change the type of user account
Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

I bought a laptop with Windows 7 installed a few days ago. I started to set up user accounts, administrator and a guest. So far, I had been able to shut down and restart with the accounts of users even reappear. I turned on my computer and two 'user accounts' had replaced my previous. Named "kiosk", which requires a user name and password which I do not have access, and one named 'other users' that requires a user name and password. I type in comments and no password and then I can access the guest account. When I disconnect my administrator profile is available next to my usual guest account. Restart the "kiosk" and "other accounts" reappear. If it's any help, as soon as I put on my computer, I had named MDX kiosk and administrator accounts. I deleted the account kiosk MDX. I don't know if this is related at all. It is not necessarily a problem, but a disadvantage however and I panicked when this popped up on my computer.
Yes, you can uninstall MDX (it is called the digital experience of Microsoft) and it will remove the kiosk account and no trace of it, and then restart your machine. All other accounts on the machine should stay, but I would like to make a backup first. This should solve your problem. Associated with the store, you bought from should have done that for you, why they failed, I have no idea (we are instructed to do before the release of the machine to customers). If you don't mind asking me, where did you buy the machine?

Relationship between the user and account in IOM DB
Hello
do you know how is set up the relationship between the user's record in the USR table and an account of application instance in the table form of process (as in UD_LDAP_USR)? I analyzed records from both tables, but failed to find the key to the relationship between the records in these tables.
Peter
The table Ouedraogo is the link between all the tables of an instance of a resource. The ORC_KEY is the process instance key that links the tables of UD_XXX. And there is also the USR_KEY which connects to the table user.

I have a user who no longer works for the company. Someone took his place, the same computer. She used the same account as the former user. I would like to delete the old user and assign the new. It will lose something if I do this? I wouldn't reinstall anything, right?
Hi Greg,.
You won't lose any application on the computer.
You can remove a user from the license and assign it to another user according to the help below document:

Some like to use Sync as a backup system to a computer and is not implemented reliably and can fail at any time, especially if you reinstall Firefox and you want to retrieve the data stored on the server.
The services.mozilla.com web page is where you can check your sync account.
This server does not support the connection through Persona (Persona no icon on the login page) and requires its own password.Persona is just a special way to authenticate on the Mozilla servers independently of the web page (Mozilla server or subdomain).
This requires JavaScript transmit these data to back and forth between the servers, so that the server must support this way to authenticate. -
How can I create a new admin user and transfer my old files?
Hello
I want to create a new account administrator user on my imac and transfer all my old files.
Why? I have problems with adobe lightroom. I can't move the files from one folder to another; After a chat session of three hours with support from adobe, they discovered is not the lightroom catalog that causes the problem, the preferences file, nor permissions user/disc; so it's probably a problem with the user account is corrupted. They tried with a new test account and everything worked fine. So they suggested, I create a new user account and transfer my files.
I read on this forum that move all the files from one user account to another, means you also move the files at the root of the problem. So before you do anything: what are the thoughts of the community here on the suggestion of the adobe support the people, and if this is the right way to go, how should I go about this?
System: imac 2.7 Ghz intel Core i5, 16 Gb 1600 Mhz DDR3, Mavericks 10.9.5, Lightroom 6.4
THX in advance
Robin
Open the preferences users and groups. Click on the padlock icon in the lower left corner. Enter your administrator password when prompted. Click on the [+] add at the bottom of the list of current users to create a new account. You can set the account to an admin account by selecting the new account administrator: drop-down menu. Set up as a result. However, you can't use the same user name, in order to transfer your data presents a problem with permissions. See the following article: transfer of files from one user to another account. Once you get set up in the new account, you can delete the old.
You shouldn't have a problem to transfer files of key records in your file. Just do not transfer anything from the folder/Home/Library/because that's probably where the shoe pinches.
