Using of two NI USB-6008

Hello

I would like to know if its possible to use two devices acquisition of data USB-6008 in the same VI.

I suppose it should be possible and should not affect my sampling rate, I'm good?

Thank you

You are right. You can use two devices in the same vi (infact many devices) as long as you manage tasks for devices separately if you want different sampling rate.

  • I can read two-channel USB-6008 using THE Signal Express?

    Hello world!!

Is possible to read the two analog inputs at the same time?

Example: Using Signal Express, I need to read the (channel 0) analog input and analog input (channel 1) at the same time.

I try this but, the signal on purpose gives me an error message saying that I can't read several channels at the same time using the USB-6008.

    Is this true?

  • Can I use more than one USB-6008 in the same program?

I'm working on a project that may require up to six modules USB-6008.  Before I buy more I need to know if I can use all six at once in the same Lab View program.  Can anyone help?

    Hello Nick,

LabVIEW is capable of handel that the number of data acquisition tasks quite easily, but you have to remember that USB has a maximum bandwidth. Therefore, you have to make sure you have enough on your PC USB hubs. In general there are between two to four USB slots by hub and each of them will have a maximum flow rate which will be divided between all devices connected to this hub. So even if you can get four USB DAQ devices attached to four USB ports if they are on the same hub, you might notice significantly reduced rates of data transfer. I would say rather than buying six or more USB 6008, why not buy a PCI card that is able to handel a lot more entries with greater bandwidth.

  • Pt100 (USB-6008) configuration problems

    Hello

I'm using the hardware DAQ USB-6008 (I know that's not accurate and all) and I use the Pt100 (QAP2010, click for plug technique).

    I connected it like this.

Now in LabVIEW, these are the only options (DAQmx new task-> acquire->-> RTD temperature signals).

If I choose for custom settings, I get these options (I don't know what variables that is).

I use a small greenhouse where I need to measure the temperature and humidity and control environment (by using a fan to cool the cartridges to greenhouse and heat to heat).

My goal is to read the temperature using a graph on the front panel.

Can someone help me how configure/choose the right options? If you need more information I'll provide them as soon as possible!

A quick search for RTD class B shows the precision and the coefficient. As Fan Ravens stressed resistance according to the temperature is plotted in the data sheet.  To control the temperature in greenhouse, a simple calculation of the slope of this graph is not good enough.

Note that the USB-6008 case limited an active player on the outputs analog and it controls only the voltage. So you will need at least one external resistor and possibly and external power to excite the RTD.  These options that you have linked is not applicable to the USB-6008, which is a very simple device. You should perhaps simply to measure the voltage and calculate first resistance, then the temperature.

  • Neither daq usb 6008

    Hello everyone...

IAM going to use it NI DAQ USB 6008 Board so to do this I have been programmed and build later... I would like to install in another computer for all this help drivers must tΘlΘcharger or?

    Thank you

Only drivers of data acquisition is enough to install NI DAQ USB 6008.

  • My USB-6008 has bad firmware for c# application, utility switch fails.

I use a pair of USB-6008 in an application. Everything was fine until what I installed the driver NOR-DAQmx. This software has changed the firmware of NOR-DAQmx BASE of NOR-DAQmx. The problem is that I can't change it back again. The OR errors of the utility of switching because it cannot find the Labview engine. Well, it will not be as I am not a user of labview.

    Hello Drew,

The simplest solution would be for you to download and install runtime LabVIEW 8.5.1, with which you will be able to run the utility of switching without problem. It of free and can be found here:

    LabVIEW Run - Time Engine 8.5.1 - Windows 2000/Vista x 64/Vista/XP

Let me know if you encounter other problems.

  • NEITHER USB 6008 voltage offset using CSR and measurement of diff.

    Hi all

I am currently trying the NI USB 6008 housing and I'm getting problems when reading voltage analog using CSR or differential.

So basically, what I want to measure is a PWM signal (0 to 12V), which is divided by a divisor of tension (by two). But instead of measured 0V and 6V

    I am in a position a constant 0.8V and approximately 3V.

On the side of digital data acquisition, I give you on impulses for the SSR... and it works fine.

I connect it that way: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/95CC0CB11D7DF3D18625712E000C4ABD?OpenDocument

    Best regards

    EDIT: Attached graphics acquired are

What is the impedance of your voltage divider?  The input of the USB-6008 impedance is not very high. If the impedance of the partition is large, it could cause the effect you see.

  • Do another counter for usb-6008 VI using Labview 8.5

I want to create another counter for usb-6008 using Labview 8.5, it is necessary to calculate the two gears simultaneously.

The best way to proceed is to use the meter.  The counter counts
signals without having to interrupt the system or use the USB bus.
When you ask the number of ticks that saw the meter, one
request is thrown from the CPU to the USB line to the 6008, which then
request counter "ticks how have you seen?  This number is
returned on the USB bus, goes to the CPU and display on your
screen.  Given that the DIO lines on the 6008 are software timed, it is
no way to guarantee that the data back to the central unit is
deterministic.  The conceptual difference between software-controlled
DIO (that nondeterministically returns an entire stream) and a
meter software-tick-application-controlled (which returns a unique number
with the number of ticks) prevents us from using the DIO lines on the
6008. the best way to count more edges is buying more 6008 s.
Another possibility would be to buy a PCI card to counter such as
the PCI-6602, who owns 8 counters. Most of the counters we offer in the
USB form factor is 2 per device.

  • USB-6008, how to calibrate two signals are equal entry?

HI all, I use NI USB-6008 and evaluation of labview 8.5, using the daq assistant.

1st quarter) to calibrate the two input voltage signals become equal?

Q2) I used the comparison for example function: not equal.  When the two entries get value not equal, how to output of 0-5 v output?

If someone need more information to help me, I can provide.

Not sure at all what you mean by "0-5 v output to the output. Want you the difference between the two inputs to output?

In addition, two input signals will probably never equal. It's just not something that exists in the numbers floating point on a computer. You must subtract one from the other and uses in the range and force the function to determine if they are close enough.

  • Can I use five differential signals analog usb 6008?

    Hello!

I have the USB-6008 housing with one and two potentiometers temperature sensor (and one meter and digital input is also beign used).

I've only got analog +-left slot but I still need to connect the voltage and current signals of a diet. Is it possible to have both connected somehow to the last + slot?

If it is not possible what harware would you recommend instead of the 6008?

6211 next best step up that gets you more AI.

Alternately, you could just put a 2nd 6008 in the system... certainly cheaper than a 621 x.

  • Data acquisition with USB-6008 using C++

    Hello

I am trying to use USB-6008 to collect analog data without using Labview, since I can't afford the lincence. I searched in the C++ provided with product samples and found "Simple example of analog input.

The compiler I use is codeblocks instead of visual studio (once again for monetary reasons). The code seems to works since when I run it with the USB-6008 box connected, he wrote "gains 1000 points.

I have 3 questions relating to the use of this code:

    1. where are stored the 1000 points?

    2. How can I modify the code to specify the time acquisition and the frequency of acquisition?

    3. How can I change this code sample points simultenously with 8 analog inputs?

    Thank you for your help,

I'll try to add any clarification if necessary.

    Albany

Your questions are answered in help for c programmers.

1000 points are in the variable array of points called 'data '.

The sampling frequency is set to sync.

The number of points read is defined with the function of reading.

Read channels are defined with the function channel set. To read multiple channels, use syntax such as Dev 1 / ai0:3 for the first 4 channels.

  • USB 6008 - how to display the two position linear pot (mm) and output (volts) in LabVIEW?

I have a USB-6008. I have a linear potentiometer attached to the USB DAQ. Now I can view the output voltage of pot in LabVIEW through the AI0 on USB DAQ channel. However, I would also like to be able to show the position of the stem of the linear potentiometer (mm) that generates this tension. can anyone tell how to proceed?

Since there is no lag, just use wired the primitive multiply with a constant of 20 to one of its entries, thread the other entry to your reading the voltage. Wiring of multiply it to a digital display to show location output.

My device is connected to the computer, but I get no signal output. Do I have to do something to activate the output or is it constant? If so, why can I not see a signal in the meter?

    Thenk you for your help.

    Dikla

The 6008 has an amout 5V output limited power available.  Make sure that your sensor attracts less then the 200mA who is spec'd for the 6008.  In addition and I have to ask, you have the sensor on the ground ground 6008?
