I dropped my laptop and now windows starts too slowly or not at all, except in safe mode.

Hi people out there

I dropped my phone a few days ago and now Windows, when started normally, goes ridiculously slow and then stops before he installed the sidebar.

It still works in safe mode with networking and the other.  Then one of my friends suggested I just get my vista disk and re-install/repair windows.  However, I am currently in Poland, and my drive is in Scotland.  Is there a way I can solve these problems with my windows?  Can I borrow a disc from a friend?  I am really attached to money at the moment then, really, to take it to a store is very much a last resort.

Can anyone offer some (very basic please) advice on what to do?

Thank you

You can also have problems of material thanks to a fall!

See if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

After installation > go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/notebook > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > get latest Vista drivers for it > download/install them.

Save all data, because it will be lost during a clean installation.

How can I get the product key

    Phillip

You have to buy a new copy of Windows 7 to get a product key, but a new key may not be necessary.

I suggest that you run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage diagnostic tool in normal mode (not safe mode) and copy and paste the results into a response for further analysis:

Run the tool and when it ends, click the copy button, open a text such as Word or Notepad file and select Edit, paste. You can paste directly into an answer here. Open a response, right click and select Paste.

To install windows on this computer, run the Setup again. Whenever I restart it the same thing happens. Its stuck in a loop. I would like to save my files, but I think that the only option I have is to get another drive for her. If I could get the files off my system, I would not hesitate to wipe the drive. Do I have other options?

Thanks anyway. I'll have to wait for my drive to arrive but I will try the reset of the bios and see if that helps. At this stage, it can't hurt.

  • Thunderbird updated, now will not be opened except in safe mode.

I'm one of those typical Thunderbird update notice yesterday, asking if I want to install this update now, or something like that. It won't open unless I press 'shift' for the safe mode - and even in this case, only after, I go to the Windows Task Manager (Vista) / processes, and at the end a process with the name "Thunderbird" if necessary.

  • I had to reinstall Vista Home premium and now printing is so great that it seems I am in safe mode. How can I fix it

changing the size of the print

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/laptop > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

    Then proceed as follows:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/change-screen-resolution

    Change the screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

  • Used the victory 8 reset button - and now, just a "No Signal" monitor... no BiOS, no Safe Mode... not nothing

I bought a gateway Desktop PC DX Series DX4860-UR28 (DT GE0AA.004) Intel Core i5 3330 (3.00 GHz) 8 GB DDR3 1 TB drive HARD Windows 8 64-bit. It has been preloaded with Win 8 *. It worked fine until

I went and pressed the RESET BUTTON WIN 8.  My monitor went black and sat there for hours... (I left it overnight.) The next day I turned it and turn it back on.  The PC starts, fans are whirring, the lights are on... and the Viewsonic monitor says: "No Signal" and goes off.  I tried to get into the BIOS by pressing F2, F8, Alt + F10, nothing worked. The computer makes a short beep every 10 to 20 seconds. I turned off the computer. I turn it on again, I turn on the monitor, the monitor button displays the logo of Viewsonic, "No Signal" and goes out, even though I have vainly press F1, F2, F8, F11... that one should I use?    I looked on YouTube to correct the videos.  tried power cycling. I tried to remove and reinstall the sticks of RAM and graphics card. I have tested the monitor so it works with another computer, is not broken. I tried to connect the monitor to the computer with the white and blue led cables and both at the same time.  I tried to remove the video card and put it on with the on board one... nothing. Always impossible to get in the Mode screen without failure or Bios.  What I am doing wrong? Help, please.  I thought using the button Reset Windows 8 would automatically result in a 'clean install' of it.  I wanted to delete my personal files. At this point, I would sell just my computer for junk, but I can't be sure that my files are really erased.  Thank you for all the helpful tips.

Create recovery media in Windows 8. This media can be used in situations when you cannot start your Windows installation. This recovery is a recovery for your Windows PC 8 partition. Simple, you can boot from it & fix your computer to a stable situation. You can use a USB key drive that has more than 256 MB of disk space. Alternatively, you can also use a CD / DVD disc to create the recovery media.

Using recovery media trying to start on your PC, and auto repair.

    (a) once you start your computer by using the Windows DVD or USB, a black screen is displayed with the gray text "press any key to start from the CD or DVD. Press a button on any.

    (b) select the exact time and the type of keyboard.

    (c) click on repair your computer in the lower left corner.

    (d) select Troubleshooting in choose an option screen.

    (e) click Advanced options in the form of resolution of the problems.

    (f) select auto repair.

Hope the information helps, if you have any additional questions, feel free to post. We are here to help you.

  • has deleted part of the key of windows vista which has been integrated with the laptop and when I start the laptop it asks activation, what to do, please give solutions

the sticker on my laptop has disappeared/deleted and I am not able to see the full key for windows vista operating system has been pre-installed on the laptop and now she asks activation and I did not quite correct key because he got faded/deleted, how can I get the key to work on the laptop I have compaq-presario-cq60-420 US laptop.please help me or give me the microsoft contact numbers where I can get my key of windows vista back by providing the serial number and the product number for my laptop.  I am unable to work as the laptop does not work without the activation key.

    Hello

You can use a magnifying glass and a flashlight to see if you can read the numbers of the product key on the label.

Or take a picture of it and expand it on the screen.

    ______________________________________________________________

    Also that, read also:

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks and to reinstall the operating system.

They should do this for a fee, if they still have available to them.

    _____________________________________________________________

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

    ____________________________________________________________

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

The methods above resettlement generally do not require allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.

I recently dropped my laptop and it is weird, one day he int open up to 4 start times and sometimes it shows me a folder and a question mark in the interface and sometimes asked to reset my password, what are the steps to take?

Anything can be corrupted on your MacBook Pro, but from what you say, it seems that the cable drive/SSD/flash memory/SATA hard was seriously damaged. Him "question mark" means that your Mac is unable to find any bootable device, meaning that it does not yet detect your OS X drive.

You should make a backup of your files (if you can still do it) and take the Mac at the Apple Store or dealer to get a diagnosis. There may be several damaged parts.
