Using the driver of neslab instruments?

Hello!  I'm trying to control my neslab w water cooler / Labview 8.6, and I noticed that there is an available instrument (pilot not-NOR).  Anyone used this before vi?  If so, help me to find a way to specify the port number?  The vi expects a digital port number, but I didn't know that com ports had digital specifications, only COM1, COM2, etc..  If anyone has an idea how to specify this, it would be a great help!  Thank you!

Matt

We have a few coolers Neslab, but used berever the driver, and if I remember well in the old days 0 = COM1, 1 = COM2, etc..

Give it a try, nothing is damaged with the wrong number.

  • Can I use the drive HARD internal extra for my Satellite A200-1 to 9?

    Hello, new to these forums,

I recently bought the A200-1 to 9, and I'm very happy with it. I was interested by the addition of an extra internal HDD to the exisitng 120 GB one. I obviously did not have enough research I bought a Toshiba MK2035GSS: 2.5 "HARD 200 GB drive thinking it would be slot directly into the spare slot and it doesn't.

So, really, I'm looking for some advice if I can add an extra internal hard drive and if so what model and how. After taking the back cover it looks like the aura of the place for another drive, even though I'm not sure if correct connections are there, or maybe if the space is used for something else.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thank you
    Martin

    Hello Martin

As far as I know that some A200 models come with hard drives 2. because of this Toshiba laptop brand standard chassis. All A200 models use this standard chassis. Your A200 comes with a single drive HARD and because of this place for the second disc is empty. This does not mean that you can use the second HARD drive.

I have the same laptop as you and in my case there is no any prepared for second HARD drive HARD drive connector.

I have a LabVIEW 2009 application that uses a driver for a USB device, created using the wizard of the Driver NI-VISA.  What my minimum installation of runtime needed to understand when I move it on a non-development machine?

On my dev machine, I went to MAX and given my new camera USB one alias of VISA.  I think I'll meet trouble if my deployment includes no MAX on TIME machine.

Right now, I guess the minimum is LabVIEW 2009 DURATION, NOR-DAQmx Configuration (including MAX) execution, duration of NI-VISA.

If not, is there a method that avoids having to configure an alias altogether?  It would be nice to not not need NOR-DAQmx, I use not any material that my USB device with driver custom.

    Thank you!

Not sure why you consider same installation DAQmx. You can install just MAX, the VISA duration and your harware MAX configuration. The installerallows of LabVIEW allows you to export the configuration, and then you select the option to import on the deployment computer. You will also need to include the installation of the inf file you created with the wizard.

  • Using the drive almost always at 100% at the start and sometimes at other times

Recently, my laptop seemed particularly overwrought, even when executing threads. Whenever I start it (and also sometimes at random so that I use for light work), it is much slower than it has been in the past, and when I check the tast Manager, it says that the disc is in 90 to 100% almost every time. So I watch programs using the floppy and almost all of them use it with a rate of 0 MB/s, and all other use at a fairly slow pace. I know it's normal for notebook computers to slow down over time (mine is a little over a year old), but I wonder if it is an expected behavior. I find it odd that the drive is the treatment so furiously, but it seems to me that no program is really use it. I enclose below, pictures of my complete task manager a few minutes after starting.

  • DVD RW drive has an error code of registry 19. I can't use the drive and it is not visible as a drive.

My lite - on dvdrw lh-20a1l ata device does not work.  Device Manager appears with the following text:

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Click on 'Search for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

I tried looking for solutions, uninstall driver and reboot, reinstall the software provided with the machine, running regecure software to clean the registry and nothing has solved the problem so far - you have ideas?

19 code means there is a driver conflict such as two devices attempt to use the same
    resources.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then check the cables
both ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean the
power and data of the contacts with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the system manufacturer
and the manufacturer of the device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD &)
Burn DVDs and CDs and read DVDs). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational parts while
    others do it properly.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive

  • Computer will not use the drive when you restart.

I have a Pavilion dv 9000 and had problems more and more lately (win explorer fails, application launcher fail, blue screens, crashes etc.).

I decided to use the recovery disk that was created at first boot. According to all the manuals that I found (on - and offline), it is just to put the recovery disk in the DVD-ROM and restart.

The problem is that nothing happens. The computer does not use the disk when it reboots.

Anyone experienced the same problem with the recovery disk?

I'm not having any other problems with the ROM, works perfektly once Windows is running.

    Thank you

You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

    I hope this helps.

  • Why using the driver NOR-DAQmx ANSI C functions in a thread causes a deadlock?

Firstly, apologies if this is bad advice, but it seemed the closest fit.

I use MSVC 2008 Express with the library in ANSI C NI DAQmx for some analog output with a box USB-6009. I create a thread to handle the signal generation is based on fixed time. My main thread running the user interface. I found that I get intermittent blockages in release, so that libraries mode NOR are responsible (in the second thread) and I use MSVCRT features (on the main thread). My test code is attached as "deadlock2.cpp".

I used WinDbg to try to find the cause of the deadlock. Traces of the battery of my two sons are attached as t1_stack.txt and t2_stack.txt.

It seems that the MSVCRT localtime() function uses a lock when it is called for the first time and then went to lock the Windows DLL loader lock. At the same time libraries NOR (or less libraries mxs) are responsible for locking the charger DLL is being held. The mxsutils library uses getcwd() which seems to try to block something the MSVCRT and therefore my two sons are now deadlocked.

I can probably work around this by calling the localtime() and the NOR-DAQmx functions before I spawn my second thread so that the DLLs are already loaded in the process. However, I have no guarantee of this to continue working if something changes in the future, and if there are any locks going on finally having the DllMain() calls for a thread hanging may still cause a deadlock. If my results are correct, is it likely that NEITHER would fix the dll for not trying to make something complex in their DllMain()?

According to NI Measurement and Automation Explorer, I'm under DAQmx libraries v9.3.5f2. I download the latest version now to try, but it will take time.

    Hi dmcminn,

Thank you for the comprehensive and detailed bug report. I was able to reproduce the problem with NOR-DAQmx 9.6 using the code you posted. I reported it to the R & D team suitable as CAR #366538.

I agree with your analysis of the problem. Getcwd() so the first call to __tzset() acquired _ENV_LOCK, which Microsoft has documented as the "lock for environment variables. __tzset() also called GetTimeZoneInformation(), which can load additional libraries, that you have demonstrated.

Here are a couple more possible solutions, but they are not great:

    • Link to the static version of the CRT (/ MT instead of /MD). This would bind a separate copy of the lock of the CRT table in your program, and DAQmx would continue to use the lock to MSVCR90.dll table. They use more of the same _ENV_LOCK.
    • Build using a different version of Microsoft Visual C++ (for example 2005 or 2010). MSVCR80.dll MSVCR90.dll and MSVCR100.dll own separate copies of the lock of the CRT table.

Whatever it is, it does not eliminate the fact that mxsutils called the CRT while now the loader lock, and this function CRT acquires another lock.

Furthermore, the forum Multifunction DAQ is a better place to ask questions DAQmx.

  • 100% Windows 8 using the drive and Windows Update problem

I'm going to completely horrible with windows 8.  I use the computer for two reasons

1.) to run a machine virtual linux which performs calculations for my work

(2.) to run a very small application that connects to another computer and updates a display based on what is sent to it.  This application also shuts down the computer when the network computer told him to.

The computer is not connected to the internet, so I chose not to do the windows updates (in Control Panel, never check, do not update, etc...), now that I have a set of drivers that work well.  Took me to update to the latest version of windows 8 (not 8.1), so that the service representative would talk to me, and the problem is more serious.

I also disabled windows update service.

Also, after startup, svchost.exe takes 100% of the use of the disc for anywhere from 1 minute to 3 hours.  It is usually about 5 minutes, but takes more time after an update.  I reinstalled windows many times, and the problem persists.  When no other applications running, 10 minutes after the start, opening of windows Explorer takes about a minute.  This computer has a disk decently fast (I tried to replace), a processor quad core and 16 GB of RAM.  When running normally, it is extremely fast.

My problem is that when I'm at work, a team of 20 or so programmers and engineers may have to wait up to 3 hours for the use of the disc down before you start to work because Windows 8 is unable to work properly.  How can I get rid of this?

I am considering really just to start the linux and rewrite of the application image bit will run in windows, but I don't want the headache of Active Directory on linux.

  • Using the drive with MSSQL and Oracle partitioning

    Hi all

Although this isn't a likely configuration I would recommend/meeting, this issue has been driving me crazy because I can't find the answer and I don't know how to test it on my own (lack of material and knowledge).

I met a paper on SQL Server 2012 and 2008R2, which States:
When SQL Server performs sorting data IO operations, it first sorts data by partition. SQL Server accesses one disc at a time, and this can reduce performance. To improve the performance of data sorting, divide your partitions on disks data files by putting in place a RAID. In this way, although always SQL Server sorts data by partition, it can access all drives of each partition at the same time.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190787.aspx
    >

I'm curious whether Oracle has the same "limitation." I see in the 10.2 docs they say:
Although you are not required to keep each table or index partition (or subpartition) in a space separated, it is to your advantage to do so. Partitions in separate tablespaces storage allows you to:
    * reduce the risk of data corruption on several partitions

    * Save and retrieve each partition independently

Controls the mapping of the partitions of hard disks (important for I/O load balancing)

    * Improve the manageability, availability and performance

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B19306_01/server.102/b14231/partiti.htm
    >

But it's not precisely say it can access more than one disc at a time. I can't tell if this applies to Oracle or not. Sorry for the reference to an earlier version, but I searched this statement in 11.2 documentation but could not find.

Anyone can shed some light on this? It is eating at me :)

    Thank you
    Rich

My PC at home came with two hard drives of 1 t. Default HP would deliver them together towards the top in a setting stripped for performance (even if I had the drive put in place like a mirror). For Windows, there is only a C"" drive. Yet, most of the documentation you have read still refer to the disk drives as your disc consists of physical disks to which you have access to. In a world record is often a block box, that is another question and discussion.
