Utility to automatically change the settings of the BIOS Toshiba

Hello

If anyone can help with the please my problem.

I loaded to deploy several hundred Toshiba laptop (Satellite range) to a school using the Symantec Deployment Solution (formerly Altiris).
I need to define specific BIOS settings and set the password of the BIOS so that students can get dirty.

I need some automated way (i.e. script) to do.

The school also bought a few desktops from another manufacturer, and HP have such a tool to achieve this called BIOS Configuration utility.

Y at - it a Toshiba utility that will do the same job?

Concerning

Ken Z

On Toshiba laptops, you can find a software called + Toshiba HWSetup. +
This utility contains some BIOS options that can be modified running Windows system.

    You may or may not need to change the BIOS settings.  Assuming that you have a bootable CD with this tool, put it in your CD drive and restart the computer.  One of the 3 things will happen:

    1. the computer starts from the CD and you can follow all instructions you have Symantec.

    2 watching very carefully that the computer starts.  You may see a message that says something like "press any key to boot from the CD-ROM.  If you see this message, press a key (for example, the space bar) and the computer boots from the CD.

    3. watch very carefully that the computer starts.  You will see a message that says something like, "to change settings, press F1."  The key that you press on will be different depending on your particular computer.  It might be F1 or F10 or del key.  Whatever it is, press this button and you will enter the BIOS configuration utility.  From there, you can change the boot order to CD first.  Directions to navigate the BIOS Setup will be displayed on the screen, but they will involve using the button tab, enter, and arrow keys, because your mouse does not work in this utility.

    Hello Derek

    Use the F2 key to enter the BIOS settings and change the order of boot devices. This option is under the STARTUP tab. Otherwise, you can insert the recovery CD when the unit is turned OFF. Turn it on and immediately press the C button. keep it down for a few seconds and unit is forced from the CD/DVD drive.

  • ViewStack problem: automatically change the index

    Hello

    I have a weird problem with a viewstack. The viewstack is used as a container to load modules. Navigation is done by a Tabbar on the bottom. It is very similar to a Windows-style taskbar at the bottom and the modules are loaded in the viewstack of applications. Although there is an application inside the viewstack that everything works correctly. The problem arises when there are 2 or more loaded applications. Once you hover over a component interactive user (as a DataGroup, tree, etc.) in one of the first viewstacks it automatically changes the selectedIndex property of the viewstack until the last point.

    Unfortunately the project is large enough and will not be published yet, is not possible to view an example. (Well, I didn t try to re-create the problem in a smaller example either.)

    After searching for a while, I decided to put the problem here. I'd appreciate any help.

    Is there a way to remove a viewstack and no valueCommit event allow only initiated by the user change events? Only a wild guess for a possible solution.

    Thanks in advance

    Here's an idea which is to extend ViewStack:

    private var _myValue:int = - 1;

    public void workaroundSetSelectedIndex(value:int)

    {

    _myValue = value;

    this.selectedIndex = _myValue;

    }

    override public function set selectedIndex(value:int):void

    {

    If (value == _myValue)

    {

    super.selectedIndex = value;

    }

    }

  • Satellite 1000-S158 changed the BIOS password on an empty

    I changed the BIOS password on an empty (blank). I can't access the BIOS. Pressing on enter: it shows the error isn't the right password.
    How can I fix?

    Hmm. sounds you did something wrong maybe you misspelled or set a different password?

    Anyway, the point is that you are not able to bypass the BIOS password screen and in this case you will be unable to start Notepad.

    The problem is that you cannot remove the BIOS password, this can be done by a technician of ASP.

    In my opinion only technician in ASP can help you.

  • I restart the computer and changed the BIOs to boot from the CD. So as usual, I'm prompted to press any key to start from the CD or DVD.

    Hello Comunity Microsoft :D My name is Mike and I built a gaming pc. Everything was going well for the first 3 days, but now I have a few crashes very violent. Speakers in loop and buzz and screen lock. I have to completely shut down to go back to a working state. I did everything I could possibly think of to solve this problem, but I can't.

    Then. on the problem. Today, I decided that I was able to solve all the problems by reinstalling windows. I had my keys together and put the disc in. I restart the computer and changed the BIOs to boot from the CD. So as usual, I'm prompted to press any key to start from the CD or DVD. I do and I get normal loading windows files, and at the end of this road, I get the Welcome screen in windows7 with no option and a fat slider. I don't have the little box that tells me that I can fix my computer or reinstall windows, NOTHING. I tried several times and received the same result<--(Insanity: root="" meaning...="" just="" saying)="" so="" i="" called="" windows,="" or="" had="" windows="" call="" me="" rather,="" and="" the="" tech="" says="" she's="" never="" heard="" of="" such="" a="" thing="" happening,="" and="" walked="" me="" through="" all="" these="" steps="" that="" i="" have="" already="" tried....="" still="" no="" help.="" so="" i="" am="" asking="" the="" community.="" has="" this="" ever="" happened="" to="" you="" and="" how="" did="" you="" make="" it="" work.="" and="" please="" don't="" post="" a="" list="" of="" regurgitated="" back="" log="" fix="" lists.="" rest="" assured="" i="" have="" already="" done="" it="" and="" failed="" to="" receive="" a="" different="">

    Just to isolate the problem, try to download a new copy of Windows 7, and then try again:

    For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

    It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

    Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

    How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

    Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

    What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

    Regarding problems with the computer itself, try to disconnect all nonessential equipment attached to it to see if the problem persists.

    I would also try switching around components such as modules of memory to see if the problem persists.

    I would also check to make sure that all components are mounted and installed correctly.

  • dcd5800 sff desktop PC: dc 5800 sff I m not able to change the bios setting

    How to get the password of the bios

    as I m having dc 5800 sff f10 bios password I forgot kindly help as I not able to change the bios setting

    Updated the BIOS will not clear the password.

    You can try pressing and the little button cmos clear yellow with the jumper removed password and see if that does anything.

    I think that the motherboard has a problem because removing the rider of P/O should have removed the password.

    Now turn you on the PC with the jumper removed, correct?

    You turn off the PC and unplug him.  You then remove the jumper P/W and then turn on the PC.

    That's when the P/W should be cleared.

    Then you shut down the computer, unplug and replace the rider of P/W.

The problem persists and I also changed the battery and checked them was no change please help me... to solve the problem :-(

    Hello
    1. You have your timezone set correctly? Is - this tick on "automatically adjust clock for daylight saving time?
    2. You did changes to the computer before the show?
    3. Do you have any third-party clock on your computer application?
    We will synchronize the clock of your computer with a time server Internet and check if it works. This means that your computer's clock is updated to match the clock on the time server, which can help ensure that your computer's clock is accurate.

    a. open the Date and time by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking clock, language, and region, and then clicking the Date and time.

    b. click the time tab Internet and then click on change settings. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    c. Select the check box next to synchronize with a time server Internet, select a time server, and then click OK.

    I am trying to create HDR images and Hi Res Panoramas using Photoshop CS4. It seems that the resulting image is a much weaker than expected resolution (that is, the image has been reduced by 50% and changed at 240 dpi). I can do the thing smame on my laptop without problem, but may not know why it does not work on my desktop.

    Is there a preference that I missed?

    I use DNG images processed in lightroom.

    Create the Photomerge / HDR in Photoshop by using the option to automate.

    Thank you

    You define ACR for image - change your settings in ACR.

  • Satellite Pro L40 does not start after changing the BIOS settings

    Changed some settings in the bios last night and now when I boot I get a screen black lights flash and hard drive lights up but nothing on the screen.

    There is no password on the bios... How would a BIOS reset to normal?

    I put a windows disc now, I hear the disc spin but nothing on the screen

    (I think that I have come to the right place on the forum)

    It s a Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 model psl4be.

    Thank you

    > There was no bios password... How would a BIOS reset to normal?

    You can set the default BIOS ONLY inside the BIOS access BIOS by pressing F2 or at the beginning of the initialization of the order

    But I doubt that this problem is related to the BIOS.
    Maybe it s just a simple bad luck that this problem happened exactly after change something in the BIOS.

    Try connecting an external monitor and check if you can see something on the 2nd screen.
