utils is a packege so should I use the SQL instead of utils.

Hello

everything in translating my MS in mssql to oracle is converted into code bit: utils

utils is a set I think so is it good to use it or do I find any equivenlent sql function.

so please tel me oracle sql function for utils.patindex ();

Yours sincerely

An Oracle database is not delivered with a package called "utils". We have no idea what is this package. We do not know what it contains.

If someone in your organization or a tool that you use to convert the SQL Server T - SQL code to Oracle PL/SQL code created a package which simulates some T - SQL functions, you must determine if it is useful to use this package or using the built-ins Oracle. It may be wise to normalize the using the utils package if the hope is that the vast majority of the code will be converted by a tool and not touched by man so that there is consistency between the code base. It may be wise to normalize the Oracle built-in functions if the goal is to make easily understandable code for Oracle developers who do not know the T - SQL functions that are simulated. This isn't something that we can answer for you.

  • A question, when you use the sql Profiler features!

    Hi all.

I have a question, when using feautre profile sql to oracle 10 g 2.

As you know, 'DBMS_SQLTUNE. Procedure EXECUTE_TUNING_TASK' gives us
    a sql plan imploved automatically.

However, in the event that the sql recommended plan of 'DBMS_SQLTUNE. EXECUTE_TUNING_TASK ".
is not good enough to accept the plan sql generated, and instead, I have a better plan of sql.
    What should I do?

Is it possible to force oracle to use my plan sql instead of plan recommended by oracle sql?
The stored outline is not an option.

    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards.

It seems that you really want to use the sql Profiler then?

You can grant not only the instruction for this plan you want?

If you want to manually create a profile, and then see the post below Kerry Osborne, essentially, you can remove the indicators needed to education to listen to v$ sql_plan and then their card in a profile for the original statement:
    http://kerryosborne.Oracle-guy.com/2010/07/SQLT-coe_xfr_sql_profilesql/

See also the paper of Christian Antognini on profiles:

11 g, base lines offer a much better facility to trace a plan from a single statement in a reference to another database.

  • How to select only the part by using the sql query

    Hello

I have the task to retrieve only the integral of the input text by using the sql query.

    The entry is as follows

    Entry for the price setting

    $12.5 (FYI without space)

    $ 12.5 (FYI single space)

    $ 12.5 (double space FYI)

    $12.5 (FYI multiple space)

    $12.5 (FYI multiple space)

    Output expected of 12.5

The price is the type varchar2 column in the store_price table.

Please let me know how to achieve this.

    Thanks in advance.

If this is always the case that you get a $ followed by a number of places, you can use something like:

    Select to_number (ltrim ('$ 12.5',' $')) DOUBLE

    or

    SELECT ltrim ('$ 12.5',' $') OF double

but take care of your nls_numeric_character settings if they are defined so that, for example, a comma is the decimal separator, you will have a problem.

  • When should I use the IRIS PRO that came with my 8600 instead of the built-in OCR scan-to-text?

I just bought the Premium Pro 8600.  I installed the HP software, that gives me an OCR option for scanning.  I also installed the second disc, IRIS PRO, which is OCR, too.  When should I use each?

I would use the software OCR supplied with the printer during the formatting of the document to be scanned is simple and use the IRIS PRO when the formatting is more complex.  You should expect some distortion of the two programs well formatted.  Hope that helps.

  • Should I use the design of producer/consumer model (Instead of Globals)?

    Hello everyone.

I have a request including several loops in it. A loop reading data series and he analyses for use in the other loops, another loop acquires via DAQmx data and performs calculations on it for use in other loops, the other formats the data from two loops and poster and one last test data. I was wondering if this is a good candidate for the design of producer/consumer model.

For now, I use global variables to send data from the series and DAQmx loops to other loops. I use motors of the action for the different parts of the program that should be used everywhere, as the serial port. The test loop needs than the most recent data to run his test.

    Thanks for your suggestions!

The short answer is Yes. If nothing else using queues to pass data will allow your various loops inactive if no data is present. By using globals your curls must continuously survey to see if the data has changed. You always are beter off if you can make your request, driven by events rather than to use the polling stations.

  • Is there a recovery for an Acer C720P image, or should I use the 720 recovery image?

I would like to create a USB stick recovery, but am unable to find an image for my Acer C720P. May then jeutiliser the 720 generic write on the USB recovery image I want to use for the recovery / emergency purposes? Any help apreciated.

    Hi globetrotterdk,

Yes, the creation of the image in the Chrome operating system or by using the recovery utility of Chrome on a PC base with a Chrome browser will allow you to create a backup of Windows. The version of Chrome OS will be determined by what you and your material, so no reason to choose anything and for recovery of Chrome utility, they are trying to simplify this away so many different types of chromebooks, use the generic C720 will work for you.

  • What should I use the incremental update for IKM Oracle?

IM missing some conditions before using the incremental update

I have a simple integration of an Oracle source data source table directly to another target Oracle data source table

I'd like to run a simple merger on a periodic basis

Source table that contains data, the target table is created and set in the model

Project created, put two tables in mapping

LKM specified LKM SQL for Oracle (I won't use DBLink)

Key of the target table are defined

I go to set the IKM but cannot choose the incremental update option

Probably a new problem user but can't seem to find a solution

So it's a stale issue that I have long found the answer and thought I would post it here just in case someone else is beginner and difficulties as well

For the incremental update be visible the following must be in place:

    (1) the IKM that supports the update must be visible in the project, as shown in the diagram above - that's what our ODI comes with

    (2) in the logical scheme of the model to the target in the context table to see its properties

    (3) set a goal on the properties of incremental update

    (4) now put target in context in the physical tab

    (5) IKM Oracle Fusion is now visible in the knowledge of integration Module

  • using the PDF instead of HTML

    To the right at Adobe.

After a careful examination of many current technologies for the content of the Web site (including HTML, PHP, Java, JavaScript, MySQL, etc. and systems such as Typo3, Joomla, etc), we decided to drop everything for PDF, being an ISO standard and the de facto standard for office documents. Everyone has Acrobat Reader is installed, the plugin is also installed, and so everyone is able to display a http://.../index.pdf. Problems that are common to other sites, such as the injection of SQL code, the need to keep a backup of SQL server, the demand of space (the naked typo3 installation requires 1 GB of server space), for example, they are all simply, we do not want. Following initial considerations and the advancement, an index.pdf file monkey 200 K holds today, our entire Web site. Dynamic content is loaded by SWFs included read various .xml files. The site displays beautifully on a Mac with Safari and Acrobat X or Windows XP with any browser. There are a few problems, however, which are still pending. Describe us them here.

Index.pdf of the index.html call can result in a blank page, and the Acrobat Reader plugin makes no effort to inform and help the people customer. It turns out that the v10 of Acrobat Reader is not available on all platforms. For example, linux (ubuntu v11) and solaris (v11) still have Acrobar Reader v9. On linux or solaris, you see a "3d data parsing error" whenever you open a page with swf included.» This happens all the time. It only occurs if your version is different from the version 9.2. 9.3 and 9.4 show the above error. It's a problem of multiple roles, because the latest version on these systems is version 9.4; version 10 is not available from Adobe, and most of the people are not ready to go back to version 9.2, which is not available from the default package of the System Manager. Other systems are not without problems. Apple OS x, for example, the plugin is only available for Safari. If your default browser is Firefox, Chrome or Opera, you don't see the index.pdf. You have to use Safari. Apple iOS, even Safari fails to execute the index.pdf, because Acrobat Reader is not available for this platform. We have solved most of these problems via a HTML + JavaScript loader which performs a compatibility check-up. If all tests are successful, the HTML code then calls the PDF file. If the tests fail, then a courtesy message, explaining the problem and describing the steps the user must perform to solve the problem (s). If the user does not wish to use the Acrobat plugin, then the user is redirected to the RSS STREAM. The site is based on the RSS STREAM, and so the user has access to (most of) the content of the site. You can read this code at the following address: http://www.MadreAcqua.org/index.html. It is not enough, however. We had people with Acrobat Reader X installed on supported Adobe Systems, but their browser plugin remained version9; It turned out that the update of the Reader app could not update the Player plugin. On Windows 7 + updates, with Firefox 4 + updates and Acrobat Reader 10 + the index.pdf does not display included sovereign wealth funds. Note that it works on Windows XP + updates and Adobe Reader 10 with any browser. The failure on Windows 7 is a mystery. There are also people who are sick and tired of Acrobat Reader update by hand, or do not have the skill or the time to do it. It is also the source of the recent security problems.

Below you will find other problems.

    1. the index.pdf includes sovereign wealth funds for its dynamic parts (RSS readers and video). Sometimes, random, sovereign wealth funds, do one of the following: they disappear (the only way to make them appear again is click on their area); they disappear and reappear as the Christmas lights (the only way to stop is to reload the page); also, they disappear or reappear when resizing the browser window.

    2. the mouse wheel allows to reverse the pages instead of scrolling. Specifically, each page of the site is displayed in its entirety. If we do scroll, however, the engine should try to scroll, find that the page is displayed in its entirety, and so nothing should happen. Instead, the engine displays the next page of the PDF file. The PDF file was built with the indicator "single page view", but the engine force mode 'to enable scrolling '. This seems to be a bug in the Adobe Reader software.

In short, dear Adobe, please ensure that all platforms have the same version of the Acrobat Reader plugin, and that the plugin is updated automatically, in the same way to Flash Player 10.3. One plugin (pdf + swf) would also be useful. Please also make a charger official as part of the plugin, both to solve (mostly) the above problems and increase your own awareness of them. Otherwise implies your inability to offer its support to HTML ++.

    Best regards

    M.A.S.T.

    Not a bug - you're wrong points.

If you embed a SWF file usinguniversal mode (Acrobat 8 and earlier versions) l, then it will never print, because it is never part of the PDF page. Legacy content is an annotation that is managed by an external program (in the case of the legacy SWF, a copy of office of Flash Player). For security reasons, there is no communication between the engine PDF printing and that the external program, so when you print the PDF file you will see nothing except the poster images.

If however you embed your SWF in Acrobat 9 native mode +, it will play using the built-in Flash Player copy and will be printed, as long as you select "document and annotations" in the menu options and print on paper, it will look exactly as it does on the screen at the moment you press the button print, provided the SWF correctly handles step scaling.

In addition, you can write a PDF with SWF file included for printing, but when you print it, the content of the included SWF file does not appear on the paper. This is part of our list of bugs.

  • How to use the partition instead of group by?

    Hello

I'm unable to use the partition by clause in the following cases,

the column with null values other_number contains 10 records in 'une_table '.
    5 records where the date 01/11/2009, item_code = 1
    5 records where the date 01/10/2009, item_code = 2

This query returns all of the records of 10, (which assume back 2)
    SELECT count (a.anumber) on (partition TO_char(a.some_date,'MM'), a.item_code) AS i_count, a.item_code,.
    TO_char (a.some_date, 'MM')
    Of une_table
    WHERE to_char (a.some_date, 'yyyy') = 2009
    AND a.other_number IS NULL

Works great if I wrote like this,
    SELECT count (a.anumber) AS i_count, a.item_code,.
    TO_char (a.some_date, 'MM')
    Of une_table
    WHERE to_char (a.some_date, 'yyyy') = 2009
    AND a.other_number IS NULL
    TO_char(a.some_date,'MM') group, a.item_code

How to use partition of in this case?

    Hello

Almost all of the aggregate functions (the ones you use in a GROUP BY query) have analytical equivalents.
You seem to have already discovered that, regardless of the values returned by
a comprehensive funcition using ' GROUP BY x, y, z "can also be found
an analytical function by using "PARTITION BY x, y, z".

Aggregate queries to collapse the result set.
    The COUNT aggregate function:

    SELECT deptno
    , COUNT (*) AS cnt
    FROM scott.emp
    GROUP BY deptno
    ;

indicates how many 14 employees are in each of 3 departments.
The fact the analytical COUNT function:

    SELECT deptno
, COUNT (*) OVER (PARTITION BY deptno) AS cnt
    FROM scott.emp
    ;

but the first query produces 3 production lines, the second query produced 14.
You could get 3 rows of output using the analytical function and SELECT SEPARATE , but it is inefficient.

Which should you use? As with many other things, the answer depends on what data you have and what results you want from this data.
If you want has collapsed of results (one line per group), it is an indication of striong you'll want features global, not analytical.
If you want a row of output for each row in the table, it is a strong indication that you'll want to analytical functions.

If you have a specific question, ask. Post some sample data and the results desired from this data, as Rob has said.

There is another important difference between the aggreate and analytical functions: analytic functions can easily be restricted to a window , or a subset DataSet. It's something like a WHERE clause and a WHERE clause applies to the entire request: a condition of wondowing applies only to a single line.
If you need calculate a SUM of lines with a previous of this line order_date , or an average of last 5 lines, then proabably you want to use the analytical function.

  • Need help, unable to connect to the ODBC database using the SQL Toolbox!

    Hi all

I'm playing around with the evaluation of SQL Toolkit (2.2 + patch) and I'm having trouble.

I ran the example 'connect' program and it seems to work fine.

However, I try to write my own program, and I get the same message:

"Service connection BD: (return value ==-10 [0xFFFFFFF6])."

    Native error - 2147467259 code 0x80004005

The message is different from time to time, but the return value is constant.

I use Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and MySQL.

For MySQL, I installed the last Connector ODBC, 5.3.4. Inside the Control Panel / Data Sources (ODBC), I have a DSN called test_mysql in DSN user and system DSN.

I ran a test on the connection and the test passes. I don't know if I have to use the ansi or unicode driver, I tried both with the same success.

I do not know I had properly configured the SQL Server connection and who will try again.

My Code CVI is quite simple:

    hdbc = connection BD ("DSN = test_mysql");

Whenever I get a - 10 BD. Either I have something configured wrong or am I missing something.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Update 2:

After getting off the phone with Technical Support, the problem has been identified!

LabWindows SQL Toolkit requires 32 bits DNS. My PC is a 64-bit, so my default DNS Manager in 64-bit.

I needed to use the DNS Manager 32-bit when you work with the box tool.

Once I created my DNS connections using the 32-bit version of the Datga ODBC Source manager, everything worked fine.

    See this technical note:

How can I get my new widows 7 to Acrobat 9 on the drive when you work with Outlook.  Everytime I open a pdf file it opens in the drive instead of my acrobat 9 std. I hope this makes sense.

    Hi paulf54407224,

Right-click on any PDF file & follow the steps in the screenshot below.

    1) open with-> choose default program

    (2) select "Acrobat 9 Standard" & check the option below "always use the program selected to open this type of file".

    Click OK to confirm.

This will make Acrobat 9 your default PDF Viewer.

No, it's just not how it works. A few things will always use the scratch disk and regardless of memory real use PS for example will always be reserve enough space in the zero file as soon as you open a picture. This could get into an argument without end, so it would be better if for everyone's peace of mind, you have accepted things simply as they are.

  • generations of months using the sql query

    Hello

Based on the input of date parameter, I need display every month in the current year and last year.

For example, suppose that my setting date is December 5, 14 ', I need the output below.

    JANUARY

    FEBRUARY

    MARCH

    APRIL

    MAY

    JUNE

    JULY

    AUGUST

    SEPTEMBER

    OCTOBER

    NOVEMBER

    DECEMBER

    JANUARY

    FEBRUARY

    MARCH

    APRIL

    PEUT

Until the month of May and the month last year. I came with the request. Please find the following query.

    Select to_char (add_months (trunc(sysdate,'year'), level-1), 'MONTH') mth

    of the double

    connect by level < = 12

    Union of all the

Select to_char (to_date (ddate, 'MM'), 'MONTH') month

    (select 1 + rownum - 1 ddate

    from user_objects

    where (1 + rownum - 1) < = to_number (to_char (to_date ('12-05-14', ' dd-mm-yy'), 'mm')));

But I don't want to use the data user_objects dictionary. Can you please guide how to achieve this output, or can u give me some other request too if possible.

    Thank you

    Siva

    Try the below

    SELECT TO_CHAR (ADD_MONTHS (ADD_MONTHS (TRUNC (TO_DATE(:date1,'DD-MM-YY'), 'MM'),

    ((- MONTHS_BETWEEN (trunc (to_date(:date1,'DD-mm-YY'), 'MM'), trunc (to_date(:date1,'DD-mm-YY'), 'YY')) + 12)).

    (LEVEL-1))

    , 'MONTHS '.

    'NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE = ENGLISH') FROM dual months_between

    CONNECT BY LEVEL<=>
