I did it, but the software is a pirate? The system for this problem (a small star) tray icon has four options to resolve this problem. The four go to the site, which is NO HELP. Can I buy a genuine Windows license for this? If so I hope that's not expensive, if it is I'll be forced to return the pc to my brothers friend and cancel my internet service as I am a disabled veteran and have ZERO income. I have Windows 95 and 98 originals if that helps.

  A: drive is almost always a floppy drive, you have a floppy drive?  I ask because most of Windows 7 computers is not these.  I would check the Device Manager to see if a floppy drive is it shows.  Since you say a drive light turns on, it's the floppy drive or maybe your CD/DVD or hard drive fire?  It seems more likely that Windows is suspended to try to identify a USB device, so I would try to unplug all USB devices except the keyboard and mouse and see if the problem persists.  I had this happen with some markets good USB hubs.  You can always add additional USB ports "inside the box" If you have a desktop computer by getting an expansion card - they are not expensive.  They usually cost between $15 and $25.
