VCS X8.1 FindMe nickname

Ran before VCS X7.2.2 software and upgrade to X8.1 last week by the TAC to solve a problem.  Just noticed this morning that whenever one of our FindMe users makes a call, the display name shown on the endpoints that the incoming call is prefix URI.  If my FindMe was Patrick Sparkman and address [email protected] / * /, patrick.sparkman would look like the incoming call and not Patrick Sparkman as it can be.  This occurs only with FindMe users, are registered in the VCS without FindMe regular endpoints have no problem with it display name from what I see.  Beyond the upgrade to X8.1, no other changes have been made.

Versions of endpoint: TC6.3, Movi 4.7

Yes... Its interesting...

  • Presence with VCS and Findme

    Hello!

What is the reason why the VCS who runs findme has also run the presence server.

With the combination that there must be only one server of presence for a specific domain

and the need that an area should be added on the presence server, authentication...

This does not fit on some deployments I've seen.

There is no known workaround solution? I would like to have a dedicated presence, server

eventually manage several domains, just do presence and then maybe other VCS

running findme (findme different clusters, as this is also possible with TMSPE).

And perhaps so VCS with integration of Lync (who also have the obligation to perform

    Server presence in this topic).

    Hi Martin,

FindMe and presence server must reside on the same VCS since it is currently the only way the presence server will be able to aggregate the presence to devices which are linked to an account FindMe.

  • VCS FindMe vs TMS FindMe

    Ladies and gentlemen,

I have integrated our VCS (including management FindMe) in terms of a TMS, but subsequently in the VCS > status > Application > menu user Lync State I see the CMRS only, but not the end points recorded.
    I have several questions:

    1. How can I configure the TMS to publish endpoints of telepresence as an account FindMe (to see them as a registered Lync client)
    2. Currently all CMR have the status offline, is it possible to change their default online status?
    3. Finally: How can I restore the FindMe management to VCS of the TMS. In the latter case, I would be happy if I could put in place.

    Thank you
    Laszlo

You can use TMSPE for a variety of uses, such as the provision of devices, FindMe, Collaboration meeting rooms, etc.  In your case, you use it to FindMe and CMR.

Under Provisioning > users, manually create or import AD users and assign them a 'video address model. "  The boss of the address of the video will be their address FindMe and them will automatically create a FindMe account for each user in Provisioning > FindMe where all you have to do is to create associated device addresses, and locations, etc. that will connect to the address the user FindMe.

The menu devices is for devices implemented and can be ignored in your case because you are not provisioning all devices through the VCS.

  • Questions of FindMe Provisioning/user between TMS & VCS

    Hello

I have what seems to be a problem in service between TMS and VCS.

Using TMS to import users from AD (from 2 domains of x), everything seems to work, and can see the users in the provisioning of TMS directory. MOVI users use AD authentication which connect properly.

User login also works very well on the VCS (with connection LDAP AD). However when to call the findme users address VCS does not recognize the configured users? If you navigate in user accounts, the user is not displayed, if you run a search on VCS (users account address name or findme) findme VCS find the user. Once the user has been found and open if you click on save button (without changing details), the user will then appear in the VCS user accounts section and findme works correctly.

We use the TMS 13.1.1 and VCS x7.0.2 (Cluster).

I would like to know if you have solved your problems or you are still having problems? Any suggestions for help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Matt

    Hi Matthew.

Findme users must fill in the "user accounts".

But you must make sure that the VCS 'Cluster name' matches the 'SIP server address' in TMS.

  • Option provisioning VCS key

    I got 13.2 TMS, VCS - C 7.1, VCS-E 7.1

    100 MSDS supply of licenses,

VCS - C has the following license:

0 calls no route, route 100 calls, 2500 records, encryption, interoperability, FindMe, Interfaces network double.

VCS - E has the following license:

40 calls no course, 10 calls from crossing, 2500 records, 1800 TURN Expressway, encryption, interoperability, FindMe, relay, Network Interfaces double

In order to get video Movi/jabber to work, are these sufficient or do I have the device key on the VCS - C supply?

I have implemented the TMS in legacy mode, agent and managed to sign up customers movi and make and receive calls from clients ipad and laptop. I have now migrated the TMS TMSPE and customers will not fit. Not sure if the license key is the reason why.

  • VCS 7.2.2. and the integration of Lync 2010

    Hi all / Andreas,.

I was hoping that you could help us with a problem we have in our lab environment to get one of our areas of Lync 2010 and our video customers talk together.

Basically, we have only one video field ([email protected] / * /-2 areas of Lync and [email protected] / * / and [email protected] / * / )

We use a single gateway to lync VC to our laboratory and a VC control that takes care of all the [email protected] / * / registered customers.

The [email protected] / * / can make calls with the two areas of lync 1 and 2 with success.

However only Lync field 1 can communicate with our [email protected] / * /. Lync doman 2 users can not reach a customer VC that their presence shows unknown.

We have no active findMe and prefer not to do this now. (If no record of FindMe on Lync)

Any suggestions/help would be appreciated... Is it even possible that we are trying to achieve?

    Thank you

    SC

With the help of several areas and a third domain for shared video endponints for these two areas is not at least common deployment.

For the best support findme is btw a requirement.

If you want to use two different areas that you would waste away should look into if the old relay of ocs / road direct way might

be a workaround or get two VCS (clusters), one for each area of lync you can point only to a lync destination

address signaling. Not sure if you can fix the routing to Domain2 also in both servers lync.

If you do not get a response better / more input here, be sure to ask your Cisco partner / rep.

  • See Express vs VCS Control series & Expressway

    Hello

I am little bit confused what is the difference between the Expressway series and legacy VCS-C/E.

If I deploy series Expressway (X8.6) running on the virtual machine as traversal server for ARM, can I use that as same as VCS - C and VCS - E, the installation program.

By running the MRA, can I also used these local SIP/h.323 recording servers of the endpoints of SX and Jabber Video (Movi)? Can I need separate license to achieve?

On the two highways are the licenses ordered. Are these already for what I want to achieve, or this is just for the deployment of the ARM?

    LIC-EXP-AN
    LIC-EXP-BASE-K9
    LIC-EXP-E
    LIC-EXP-GW
    LIC-EXP-SERIES

    LIC-EXP-TOUR

    LIC-EXP-RMS

    Thank you

    Sy

So I need instances of additional and separate VCS to support records the of the SIP/h.323 endpoints. And need additional licenses for the latter as Non-parcours/course would issue licenses, commissioning, FindMe.

OK, that all of these are specific to the series of VCS, while the freeway series does not have the provisioning and FindMe, it also has a system of license different call where it is a type of single license unlike licenses non-parcours course you have with VCS.  The

TMS I 'LIC-TMS-PE-25' to activate the user commissioning for Movi so I want to use.

You must use the VCS-control/Highway if you want to use video telepresence Jabber (aka Movi).

Series Expressway (centre/periphery) are therefore only for ARM with CUCM deployment?

Yes, Expressway series was created to provide courses of firewall and external recording to CUCM via Mobile and remote access capability.  It can also provide comments of Jabber, but MRA and Jabber comments cannot be run on the same server.  On another note, the series of VCS can take all the series Expressway, because the latter is simply a subset of the functionality of VCS.

  • VCS Starter Pack can be used as VCS-E without any upgrade?

My client a VCS - C and the TMS, the VCS Starter Pack.

We rely on the deployment of all in the traditional model.

What I have to migrate MS full Expressway product or I can leave it as what?

Can't he do while it is configured as the Starter Pack? This may cause problems later?

It's my first time with it and someone else put in place before we got here.

Sent by Cisco Support technique iPhone App

    Hey Michael!

Of course, you might think the delivery of the VCS-E as a stand-alone box with a crossing area and

    SIP proxy VCS - c

    I can't recommend this doing.

If I see just the starter pack is just an extra key, giving you all the options you need:

0 calls no course, 5 calls route, 50 entries, 900 ROUND relay, Expressway, encryption, FindMe, Starter Pack. But it also means that you are linked to this feature set (for example, you can not delete the provisioning, findme,...)

    Some other limitations I see:

    * officially VCS-SP-E cannot be added to the TMS, then you miss the detail records management calls...

    * the starter pack provisioning can hinder the supply of MSDS if intended to be used

    * TMSPE/OpenDS (also password "local-tms' database (authentication)) will not work on the VCS-SP-EP

    There could be more.

  • Integration of VCS with Lync (impossible to decode the SDP)

    Hello

This is my first post here, and I would like to know your opinion on the issue below:

Scenario: VCS running 7.1 with B2BUA and SIP using TLS connection. Microsoft Lync 2010 (a VET), no user FindMe, just static road.

SIP TLS connection is active on both sides. Managed to call from customer end points Lync, Lync unfortunally endpoints customers I get a response "400 Unable to decode SDP." The static route is configured to send calls to port 5061 on VCS.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards.

    Didler,

the static route to Lync to VCS should not point to port 5061 when you use B2BUA, but rather the B2BUA listening port incoming connections from OCS/Lync, which is default 65072.

This is described in detail on pages 67 and 68 of the OCS/Lync for X7.1 deployment guide.

    Hope this helps,

  • Cisco VCS does not show the user account option

    Hi team,

We have 7.2 VCS server control, I'm not able to see the option of user account under maintenance-Login accounts. Please advise.

We don't have find me and TMS provisioing Extension service license, don't you think that's the reason.

I just started my first deployment of VCS, MCU and TMS and I must add customer movie, cisco Jabber video for Ipad and integrtaion with CUCM. CUCM has some end points of polycom and C40 and C60.

You precious advice will give me comfort during this deployment.

    Irfan

    BR

    Hello

It's probably because that VCS runs in TMS PE commissioning mode, in which FindMe is managed by the portal user in TMS, meaning there is no need to set up the maintenance > logins on the VCS.

Edit: You added information that you do not have the keys option Device Provisioning and FindMe. Because user names relate directly to FindMe, the absence of an option key FindMe would explain also unable to see maintenance > login accounts > user accounts.

  • VCS - C cluster and Cluster VCS-E with Movi 4.6 register and call interruption

    Hi all

We have VCS - C cluster and Cluster VCS-E with Movi 4.6 register and call interruptions. The point is, if the appeal or record comes from the Internet. We have the sip proxy model vcse--> vcs - c record. The strange point is, if run us in mode not cluster with only 1 vcs - c, then the call works very well or so over 1 minute. We also have findme. The call internal registered locally (VCSC) works as well) the case appears if the active VCS - c cluster and the movi has been listed in the subzone of the crossing of VCS - c
VCS versions are x.7.2.2 and tms 14.2.2
    Thx for your comments

Sent by Cisco Support technique iPhone App

    Hi friend

The issue you are experiencing is a known limit of Jabber of telepresence. This happens when registration of the device is transmitted by proxy to the VCS control, where VCS are clusters. Probably what is happening:

-Jabber client records through the fast track to a control in the area of the highway crossing.

    -L' check requires authentication

-When the customer registers again every minute (registration of SIP (re) process normal), the registration request is sent to one of the other controls in the cluster.

-The customer then completes the current record and authenticates back to the other control

-The client (Jabber) will tear down the ongoing call when there is re - authenticate registration

This problem is resolved in the current version for Jabber for iPad. The current version of Jabber for TelePresence still has this problem. Default: CSCud17952

Another user has reported the same issue. See the following:

  • Caller ID of VCS Jabber Video on SIP Trunk on the phone

    Hello, Netpros.

I am trying to find a way to show a caller E.164 ID when a call to a video client Jabber a UCM or a PSTN phone.

    VCSC/E 7.1; 13.2 TMS, configured TMSPE.

We have a VCSC > SIP Trunk > UCM (8,6) > H.323 GW w / PRI voice configured for the composition of and the PSTN destination.  We do this, so the Jabber client video can be used as a softphone, and so we can have transparent FindMe to voice and SNR to the video in either sense.  In TMS, we have a model of implementation configured with an address of the video, ILA and unit address.  He pulls ad office phone number for video of Jabber users.

    From what I read here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/vcs/config_guide/Cisco_VCS_FindMe_Express_Deployment_Guide_X7-1.pdf, we should be able to see the caller ID when you call send out an ISDN GW.

«This section describes how to use FindMe with calls are routed through an ISDN gateway (for example, when you call a mobile phone, or any other destination accessible ISDN).» If VCS has Caller ID (Applications > FindMe > Configuration) defined to use the ID FindMe, the identification of the appellant presented will be the user E.164 phone number. »

UCM SIP config is vanilla, by

    ttp: / /www.tandberg.com/collateral/documentation/Deployment_Guides/Cisco_VCS_Ci...

However, when a video call Jabber is directed to a University Complutense of MADRID registered phone, we get "unknown caller".  When to call us directly to the PSTN, we see that the BTN from the PRI.

What is strange, is that if we call another client of Jabber of VCS (with all the same problems), directly into a phone UCM via Internet on URI (for example [email protected] / * /) through the VCSE, we see the caller ID name.

    Thank you, all!

    Joshua

    Hi Joshua,.

At present the VCS will only send caller E.164 id to a GW of H.323 ISDN, which is registered for VCS.

There a feature request in the order book to define if E.164 Caller ID or name/Video address on a per-zone basis. This will also be sove the question when the call is to go on a SIP connection, as in this case, a remote ISDN GW.

    Thank you

    Hello

    Have you tried to set up a rule to search for AnyIPAddress? I just tested and without one I get the same problem as you, but if you set a search as follows rule, it works;

    Source: no

    Mode: AnyIPAddress

    On correspondence: continue

    Target area: localZone.GetDaylightChanges

Otherwise, it seems when your end point registered receives the ARQ and sends Setup for Vcs to verify that if itcan set up the call he will not be able to find an applicable search rule.

  • The upgrade of control VCS v7.2.2 to 8.1

    Happy new year!

I saw the 8.1 release notes

"Before you upgrade to X 8 or later, if you use Agent TMS (legacy mode) for commissioning you must first migrate from Extension Cisco TelePresence Management Suite Provisioning"

In our VCS, I have the alarm - "Configuration warning - VCS runs in a legacy of the Agent mode TMS;" It is recommended to switch your system to use another mode.

I guess this VCS was used with an MSD, but now we do not have a.

How can I get rid of this alarm and upgrade to 8.1 VCS?

I found that this configuration is the config FindMe, but we have no option to FindMe key now and he is not active.

I hope that I have explained the problem as clear as possible.

    Best regards

    Kiril

You can do a factory reset after you be logged in as root, however, he will wipe away everything, including details of intellectual property.

Your best option is to contact TAC, explain what you want to do and what has kept the data you need and ask them to arrange a re-flash to the system via USB key. (In your case, it seems that you can simply remove the key from the commissioning, however, you should also check that the details of external management have been erased.)

Edit: See your last post it looks a lot like a factory reset is in order, it will recreate the image on the system and clean the database as well, but like I said above, contact TAC for a re-USB flash file.
