Cannot install HP SimplePass Identity Protection - launch error: restart your computer or reinstall the software (ver. 7.1.5.9)

In the meantime, I discovered that it is not only affected by the Windows updates.  A Virgin Windows7 with HP ProtectTools worked very well, as soon as I installed a software like Adobe Reader and Winzip, the problem was again - is not possible nor to create users because of the error "..., the password does not password complexity.

Positive, it's that a white Windows 7 (not the OEM HP image), you can install and uninstall ProtectTools as married as you want.  So my temporary solution is to remove ProtectTools, install software and updates or create users and then reinstall ProtectTools.  It's going fast enough is achievable.

Thanks for the help

    Hi Cankermechanic,

I suggest that you try to update the drivers supplied by Device Manager and check.

If the problem persists, I would recommend that you uninstall drivers and reinstall the drivers from the site Web of Digital Persona, if that is helpful.

  • Fingerprint reader HP HDX16 and two other drivers not detected after an upgrade to Vista Ultimate.

    Hello.

Recently, I upgraded my HP Windows Vista Home Edition of Windows Vista Ultimate Edition HDX16 model (quite a 'new installation' upgrade.) Since then I've been doing a handful of drivers went unnoticed in the Device Manager. Keep in mind that the unpacking, all devices in the computer worked as it should.

I downloaded all the drivers on the site of HP drivers, and these drivers are not detected. This led me to the relization that I might have to do a destructive reinstall of my OS, back to Vista Home edition. This would make Vista Ultimate completely a waste. Very restless indeed. I contacted a representitve HP, and he identified my problem: drivers preinstalled on the computer are adapted to the Windows Vista Home delivered pre-installed on my computer. However, he could not help me solve the problem.

As a last resort, I tried a program called Driver Genius for backing up the computer a friend (who purched the same exact model, with Vista Ultimate pre installed,) drivers. This corrected a lot of the unknown devices, but I'm still left with three unknowns. I'm quite positive that one is the fingerprint reader. He refuses to be detected on start-up, and what is installing digital persona personal.

Here is the run down on the three unknowns:

    1.

    Manufacturer: unknown

Location: On bridge PCI standard ISA

    2.

    Manufacturer: unknown

Location: On the Microsoft ACPI-complaints system

    3.

    Manufacturer: unknown

    Location: Port_ #0001.Hub_ #0005

    I tried to install DigitalPersona.

I tried to reinstall Digital Persona.

I tried to repair Digital Persona.

I tried to perform a clean installation of Digital Persona (uninstall, reboot, reinstall).

I tried to reinstall Windows Vista Ultimate.

I tried to get the drivers from the same model of computer (with pre-ultimate isntalled.)

Identifying them all help to detect / detection / providing information about where to install the drivers would be a great help.

Thanks in advance if you think you can save me from downgrading back to home.

  • Fingerprint device not detected

I lost my original hard drive and had to get a new so that any new operating system, I use windows 7, is my model of laptop Pavilion DV6-6092EX, I installed all necessary drivers for my laptop and everything seems to work fine except my fingerprint reader! I tried everything I could for her to get back to work, but I have no luck with it, uninstalled the device as well as the drivers and reinstalled, updated their, updated the BIOS, download the necessary software that is 'HP Simplepass Identity Protection' etc... Nothing works!

One of the solutions is to download an Access Manager, but I could not find anywhere because it suppose to be under security & system which should be listed under all the necessary drivers for my model of laptop on HP's site.

I am really frustrated that I can't get anywhere to get my print return to work and all I get from the operating system may not detect the device.

Please help and thank you in advance.

According to your registered validity sensor driver (Version 4.3.205.0).

This first SimplePass software should work: SimplePass V5.3.1.7

    HP SimplePass sp54680 V5.3.1.7

    ====================================================================================

    Rules on "Order of Events.

    • Install first driver - restart
    • Install the following software

    Later:

Whenever you make changes, you can expect the softwware to complain.  One way around this problem is to go to programs, right-click on the SimplePass software and click on repair.  This reinstalls the software without destroying the existing database Simple and solves many problems.  Restart after the "repair".

If all else fails, there is a genuine HP SimplePass version that may work for you...

    =====================================================================================

    A note more:

You can go into your device manager > biometric devices > right click on your driver of validity, and then uninstall it.  When you restart, reinstall the driver.  Who can "kick" the pilot working sometimes.

    Good luck!

  • (Redirected) Alienware M17x R4: Windows7 not detecting SATA DVD/CD internal optical drive, game dvd stuck inside.

Hello, I need help here because I can't really understand what causes the problem.

I inserted a BioShock 2 legit installation DVD, and my CD/DVD drive does not detect. I tried to take the drive by pressing the eject ODD button, but nothing happened.

Under 'My Computer' my drive does not appear.

In Device Manager, it does not show any CD/DVD player either.

    Control of my computer

I took a lot of steps trying to find out what is happening, and I thought it was a problem of software based.

Ran the Dell diagnostics, Fix It, started and checked in safe mode and pretty much everything what they advised me to do in the guides.

One step, I am committed not, where do I look for the registry subkey 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}' and change the filters upper and/or lower, because there is no filters to change.

    Photo of my registry editor

The last step, I got added the following subkey to atapi in regedit.

When you pull up my laptop, I hear my work in the car. During the ejection of pressing, looks like she is about to eject the disc, but nothing has yet come out.

The CD/DVD drive is recognized in the BIOS but does not appear in my device manager. It becomes clear to power. In the BIOS, it mentions "SATA ODD MATSHITARV11 Downloader". It is also displayed in Intel RST.

I don't have that a single HARD drive on my laptop, and in my BIOS my SATA operations are on RAID. It would make a difference if I switch to AHCI? Could it be a loose connector causing this problem of detection for my OS? If so, isn't weird that my BIOS is always detect? I am able to boot from the CD/DVD, but when I do just start of my storage drive as he always does.

    Any ideas?

  • Windows 7 Pro x 64 does not detect HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor (accelerometer)

    Hello.

I installed win7pro x 64 yesterday and already fallen on a serious problem, which is how I use the laptop a little dangerous for my valuable data.

When I was working on HP Vista 32 bit (of the partition recovery etc.) brand, it was a device called the HP Mobile Data Protection with HP ProtectSmart software sensor (or protect Smart). In other words, the accelerometer HDD which parks the HARD drive heads when it "feels" it is down or something and the software for it. It has worked flawlessly.

Until I decided to install Win7... And then, surprisingly, after failure of driver install and take a look in the Device Manager, I have noticed that there is no such device. I checked three times, looked at property of each device, even reinstalled Vista 32bits back - he has shown again - and installed Win7 - not detected again. There is nothing that has the HPQ004 device ID! I remember people saying that after that fresh Windows installed, there are 6 unknown devices or more. I got only 5. [Device fingerprinting, 3 x MemCard player and IR receiver]. There is no accelerometer... Also, when I try to install the drivers/software, windows appears:

ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection: with the text Property.AccelerometerNotPresent

and then another saying something like features were not installed due to wrong installation or not supported feature.

So now I'm stuck with a laptop it is dangerous to travel with, because the disk is no longer protected

I have already installed all the drivers available on the HP page, even downloaded those newer Intel (chipset) etc.

Is there a solution to this? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Windows 7 is officially released and available in RTM version, not beta, so I think that HP should open support in his favor and release new drivers for win7! And above all, to solve this problem...

If anyone is interested, this problem is solved now.

Just download the new drivers from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en & cc = us & prodTypeId = 321957 & prodSeriesId = 3744188 & swItem = ob-76187-1 & mode = 4 & idx = 2, install and make sure you have the latest version of the BIOS. Tested - heads are being finally parked! Yay!
