Vista is showing incorrect disc

I am running Vista, Service Pack 2.

I was up to 3 GB of free space on the disk, so I deleted 45gbytes!  music files 3 days ago.

My computer still works very slowly and free disk space is now less than 1 GB.

I get warning messages on disk space is low.

I emptied the Recycle Bin and run defrag, but nothing will make the system realize I have almost 50 GB free.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hello.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Disk Cleanup:

Delete files using disk cleanup

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup

Check if the file has been deleted, and still resides in the trash. If so, empty the trash.

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

Note

If you select automatically fix file system errors for a disk that is used (for example, the partition that contains Windows), you'll be prompted to reschedule the disk check for the next time you restart your computer.

I suggest you to check the question about the new user account.

  • Windows Vista slide show begins in random order

    Original title: Windows Vista slide show Question

    I have a file of several slides that I would show as a slideshow; but when I select all slides and start the slide show, the program does not start with the slide number 1... It seems to start at random points in the show, rather than in the order, I arranged them.  Why?    What can I do so that he can play the slides in their display order?       Try to correct: I have numbered slides in the file, thinking the show would start with numbered '1' slide at first, but the show always starts somewhere other than the beginning...  What should do?   Could someone inform me please?   Thank you very much.

    Just put a number in front of any name isn't going to be enough to get him to play in any program which is yet to win here because you always said what type of program and your help.

    You must rename these photos, 001 / 002... with nothing from the former name of the left, otherwise, it just reads the number the higher the rest of the numbering name or generic.

  • Re use Vista Home Premium Upgrade disc

    Hello

    I bought and Vista Home Premium Upgrade disc and upgraded to Windows XP.  Unfortunately my PC has not enough graphics to run Aero and DVD Maker (915 chipset), and I had tried unsuccessfully to introduce a new videocard (power problem).  So I gave up with this PC and will probably go back to XP or get a copy of Vista Home Basic which will be OK on this PC.

    I did the clean installation thing with the upgrade disk if my old XP system is not affected and can be restored without problem.

    My question is:

    If I buy a latest PC who has the necessary graphics to run the Home Premium edition, can I re reuse the upgrade disc, or the activation process will fail because of "improved" after having already.

    Thanks for your help

    Evereti

    Hi Evereti,

    You can try installing upgrade of Windows Vista on another PC as if you removed completely from Windows Vista to Windows XP PC. You will not be able to use the same copy on two different computers at the same time. It will affect the Product Activation.

  • Windows Vista won't load disc

    Windows Vista 64 bit frozen and would not.  After reading the book has decided that I should restore disk factory.  Press F12 by following the instructions (I did all the retore point Jules Destrooper, no go).  After hitting F12 it says press F1, set thinking it would reformat the disk drive.  Instead it loaded Vista and it works.  Now, whenever I start the computer it shows the line F1 and I have to insert the disc to load.  What happened.

    Hello

    ·         Which version of Windows Vista you are using?

    ·         What is the brand and model of the computer?

    Regarding the recovery DVDs that you get F1 option before you start, you can try to contact your OEM (manufacturer, i.e.) for assistance.

  • How to create a family on Windows Vista Edition system repair disc?

    I can't find how to on Windows Vista Home Edition to create a startup disk. How can I do this? Thank you!

    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    Hello

    With a HP Compaq laptop press you F11 on startup to start the recovery process.

    But, like the HP advises, if you install another Vista operating system, the recovery Partition is therefore more able to be used.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

    There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

    There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

    You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

    They should do this for a small fee.

    To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

    You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

    Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

  • Windows Vista reinstall without installation disc (Acer Aspire 6920 G)

    Hello

    I would like to ask for help. About a year ago I bought this laptop with the original Windows Vista validation but key without a Windows Vista installation disc. Now, I would like to reinstall my system.

    I downloaded the file .iso Windows Recovery (of size 120 MB), it burned down and tried to reinstall Windows. I got to the stage where I type the validation key, but always when I typed that key, it appeared that the key is invalid (I checked this certificate stuck on the laptop and it seems to be original).

    Thanks in advance

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11, Acer is normally Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
